Unfortunately for my daughter a special needs cheer abilities member we had our program cancelled at the beginning if competition season by the owners of gym and basically shown the door. Ti best if my knowledge it's because our program didn't generate a profit. I sincerely hope that isn't the case for all involved. If there isn't room at that gym for disabled athletes then it isn't the gym for my family. I'm deeply saddened by the way my daughter and her team mates were treated. It is my hope that the owners revisit their endeavor to be inclusive in their program and do better. It's this moms opinion that if you don't make room for members of your community that are disabled then you aren't operating in the best interest if your community. I hope that one day those in control of programming at that gym will imagine they were in position of our family and govern themselves accordingly and treat all athletes with the respect and consideration all people deserve able and disabled. My family has been involved with special needs cheerleading and have never been disrespected and tossed aside as we have been done by the owners of this gym. The worse of it all is trying to explain to my daughter who's been a special needs / cheer abilities cheerleader for over 14 years that we have no cheer home.
