Some of the cable machines need to be repaired because of substantial drag in the movement and the cleaning could be a little more comprehensive and frequent. Great gym however, since a storm has happened some months ago the dance room had been hot. I had received responses from the staff that " Once it reaches a certain temperature it's stays that way. Or there are fans running in the room."

Don't go to the 103rd location for an early morning workout. Twice, I left to see my car had been tampered with. First, the trunk was open then the following night the driver side window was down despite my having secured both before I left the house. Don't go here early morning for workouts. This gym in Jacksonville, FL, is like stepping into a testosterone factory! It smells like protein powder and regret from missed leg days. While other places like Chuze serve almond milk lattes, this place serves up heavy metal and grunts louder than rock concerts.

Bring your courage, because the weights here are heavier than a dad's heart when he hears his daughter is dating! It's a sanctuary of sweat and gains—just leave your yoga mats and feelings at the door!

This is a terrible company. Claims to never send members to collections yet they do over a trivial amount of money (a hundred dollars) Only joined this gym during covid so I would have a place to play basketball. The gym is terrible and basketballs hit the ceiling if you shoot with any arc. Been here less than 10 times in 4 years or so. My contract expired around the time I got a new debit card. Never once went to the facility without my account in good standing. Before I know it I’m getting collections calls from Aldous and Associates multiple times daily. Clearly the owner is lying when saying they don’t send members to collections. If they would waive the fees I would consider rejoining but on principal I can’t give this company any more money until I see a change in the dishonesty.

I like this gym, I don’t think I’ll ever change to a different one. But one thing I want to request is that I would like the cable machines to be lubed up more often. I was doing cable lateral raises on side and it was hard to get the weight up and was confused and thought I was getting weaker. Then, I tried the other side and that one is super lubed up 💦 and easy to lift the weight. If I stuck with the not lubed up one then I would’ve ruined my science based lifting results. Thats all I ask thank you, you guys are the best.

If you have a 24hr gym that has a security door that only works when there's power, why did you close the gym completely on a day after a storm? If there's no power, the card scanner wouldn't work anyway, which is understandable. You don't need staff during the times that the main part is closed anyway. Since the company changed over to Chuze- I’ve had the most difficult time finding resolution. Despite taking precautions by placing a hold on the membership I’m being charged member dues and I’m not even medically able to exercise. I thought the issue was resolved the first time it happened but now they took $181 out of my account and I have yet to receive a call back from the manager regarding why they charged me. I have been going to Baileys gym since I moved to Jacksonville, which is about 4 years. I have the max membership ($50+/mo), however, circumstances changed and I asked to change my membership to lower tier, as I never use the other perks that comes with the top membership. I was informed that I have to basically re-sign up. Which include enrollment fee of $129. Honest business would and should allow their members to modify their membership without any penalty. This is the definition of dishonest and unethical sales strategy.

Update: Thank you for your response. I went back to the same front desk lady that gave me misinformation. This time she did not mention any resign-up fee, and went ahead and changed my account to low tier membership. However, when it came to charges, she said I owed the previous membership fee of $50+ and a $20 fee.

I explained to the front desk lady, that I put my account payment on hold while I clarify this issue. However, I was not given correct information and I was unable to update my account in a timely manner. Therefore, I believe I should not be charged the previous amount, as this would’ve been avoided if I was given correct information.

The front desk lady then proceeded to say that she has explained everything correctly and I must’ve heard her wrong. With all due respect, she never mentioned anything about “only a $10 fee”. If I was given below information in the response, clearly, I would’ve sign up for it, as that is my ultimate goal. It seems to me like the front desk lady’s priority was being “right”, rather than providing customer service and a solution.

Another front desk staff, that was much more kinder and seems to be understanding-Preston, gave me a tentative solution. He said one of the manager will be calling me to resolve this issue. Until now I have not receive any calls, nor emails and my issue is still hasn’t been resolved.

Not only I had to experience inconvenience, unprofessional interaction with one of the staff, I cannot access the gym as my membership is now showing delinquent.

Please let me know what can we do to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

As a long time committed member of Baileys gyms, I have to say that this last year has been very disappointing, specifically this one. From the cleanliness, to the restocking of paper towels, toilet paper, and disinfectant, to the broken machines that are not fixed in a timely matter, is very concerning since the time Chuze has purchased the gym. The music and even channels on the TV are also different, which makes the environment less desirable. Take a note of the music and channels that are at the Dunn Ave location. That's the gym with the best music and workout environment.

Baileys was considered a 5 star gym up until this buyout. And even though there were a couple times Baileys did disappoint, it was never like this. Baileys had 2 opportunities, that I know of, to expand their gyms. First when they were at the Parental Home location when the Winn Dixie closed. Even the workers were telling members that they were going to lease out that empty space and expand the gym. However, they decided to move to the now St. John's location..cool. Second was at the Dunn Ave location where the place next door to them moved..still never expanded.

Now, the 103rd location is in a similar situation where they can expand due to the closure of the business next door.
Chuze, please consider expanding this location. Lease out the next door location and expand the gym. Make it a Powerhouse! Make it where the members who pay extra for the Athletic room can use it 24/7 and not just during store hours. It's unfair. Add a Cardio Theater like some of the other gyms. There is much potential with an expansion! Many current members will be pleased with this and it will be a great incentive for other members to join.

I’ve sent two “comments” via the online form (which is difficult to find), and having no response nor attention to detail, it’s time to go public.

Ever since Bailey’s sold out to Chuze and cut staff, including custodians, the facilities have steadily declined in sanitation. Equipment fails to be repaired timely and the overall atmosphere is no longer the same as it was a decade ago when I joined Bailey’s.

Having been a long-time member of the gym community, I’ve seen many people and trends come and go. Over time there is lots of inconsistencies amongst people and fads. However, in this time and age, it’s nice to know that one thing remains constant in the gym facility that you can count on. That one thing is how unkempt and filthy the establishment is.

The continuous piles of trash and debris on the floors, tucked into pieces of equipment, and littered about the facility continues to grow and expand every day. Tile floors are constantly stained with dried material of unknown origin and fail to be mopped up on a regular basis; let alone a dry dust mop to collect the well-bred dust bunnies of hair, debris, dust, and dirt. Rubber matting around the equipment is forever holding piles of grime without seeing a broom, vacuum, or mop in ages.

Mirrors show evidence of the hard work of sweaty gym members by displaying their dried spittle, greasy palm prints, and drops of desiccated sweat all over the reflection. A good through wipe down and cleaning of the mirrors throughout the building hasn’t been done in quite some time.

The state of the locker rooms continues to be dismal. Maintaining the theme of stains throughout the tile floors without seeing a daily wet mop and sanitization method fails to be performed on a routine basis. Urine stains are forever about the urinal, the walls, and especially the floors around these devices, let alone the amount that collects on top of the urinal. Toilets are visual spectacles of all shades of colors exhibiting dried matter of unknown origins, and the floors and walls around these utilities are another wonderous sight to behold since they are not consistently scrubbed and disinfected.

I have tried and used several different gyms over the years and Baileys Health & Fitness is by far the best. I am a home inspector, and I am all over town. No matter what part of town I am in, I can always find a Baileys to get in a workout. Every facility is kept up, and very rarely do you find any damaged equipment, if it is, it is fixed quickly. The staff are all top-notch and friendly. It is like a family away from home.

Very nice gym. I am not a fan of the old equipment. They are squeaky and could be replace with new equipment like some of their other locations. It is very spacious and has plenty of equipment. they also have a shop at the front with prework out powders and energy drinks. They have an athletic room to the right when you walk in. the staff were also very nice and answered any questions I had regarding memberships and classes. I was surprised by the locker rooms and bathrooms. They were very clean and had plenty of vanities. There was also a sauna that was pleasant to use. This is a huge gym, in my opinion, and makes it nice for accommodating the traffic flow here. Parking can be a workout in itself. The staff on the floor does a great job keeping up with cleaning and maintaining equipment.
The fact that the fitness room and basketball court are closed whenever the front desk is closed is a bummer. That means these areas are closed for most of the weekend, and anything after nine during the weekday evenings.
I happen to pay for a membership that includes tanning. The units seem to be decent, but could really use regular cleaning on the glass and surrounding parts of the tanning units. I've yet to see them cleaned before I entered. Fortunately there are paper towels and cleaner spray in the rooms, so one can clean themselves easy enough.
Most of the staff are approachable, but sometimes I skip the protein shake on the way out because it feels like I'm bothering them.
I don't expect a whole lot from a gym, but this is a decent one to which I return to often. The best gym I've been to, in fact, and I've had three friends sign up at this location in the past six months.
Bailey's is cashless now, which is a thumbs down, but like many things, it's just the way it is.

From the very beginning he listened to our needs and wants then he added his expert advice on how to obtain our goals and was able to provide a regimen that was conducive to our BUSY schedule! So I’ve been a member off and on for about 10 years now. It’s where I’ve grown up, lost and gained confidence, learned new skills, and became the strongest version of myself physically. The staff has always been great. I keep to myself most of the time, but I’ve had countless experiences with them and they’re so friendly. The manager is wonderful, the custodians are fabulous (shout out to ms Roxanne for being such a gentle and kind soul.) the front staff is always super helpful whenever I have questions. Even the night time security guards make me feel safe and welcome. Throughout the years I’ve worked out there at different times, Some times it’s 6 in the morning, sometimes it’s 12 in the afternoon, sometimes it’s in the middle of the night. No matter the time almost always someone will be there to watch over you.
So, I recently fell and broke my right ankle while rock climbing at a near by gym, I just had surgery, so obviously I can’t workout currently 😅 so I called baileys to ask them to freeze my membership, which they did, I did tear up a little as I was on the phone with the wonderful HR lady.
This experience has shown me just how much I value baileys as a company, how much I truly love being in the community there, and how much I love lifting heavy circles. I can’t wait to heal to get back to my daily workouts there.

Wish they had a steamroller like some others and the soap dishes in the showers hold water which is not the most sanitary but otherwise is a nice GYM with a great staff and clientele.

Watch your account if you do a contract and your 2 years is up they will still pull money out of your account they don't tell you that when you join very miss leading other than that I have not had a problem but low rating is cause that almost like stealing money it went on for 2 years B4 I noticed that's not cool

Having been a member of Bailey's for a good number of years, and having visited each location, I can honestly say the Westside (103rd) location is my favorite. The management and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Jack is engaging with the customers, whether it's during walk-throughs of the workout areas or at the front counter. The location is always clean, and the staff does a great job keeping equipment in good repair and following up behind members to keep it in the right location on the floor. As it is a fairly large location with an excellent equipment selection, you don't feel like you're always waiting on a machine or weights. You can always find a time of day that has just the right amount of member traffic for your comfort level.

Highly recommend Bailey's, and this location in particular!
