Great gym and people, but please please repair the frost boxes. Ever since we joined months ago, one frost box never worked, and the second was was warmer than our ac at home. The hot yoga classes taught by Annette are excellent. Each class is a journey that benefits the body and mind.
Jax Beach Chuze is one of the few that has a hot yoga studio and chilled recovery room as well as other recovery amenities. With two stories of equipment it is a very well equipped gym.

Can’t stand this place, only because I have to use the USPO right next door after hours to drop off many packages and this place’s clients park in all the temp spaces for the USPO.
It is very difficult to carry all the boxes across a huge parking lot for 5 mins. It’s just disrespectful, they should put a notice up at check in, asking their clients to be more considerate of the USPO customers and maybe quit taking shortcuts to go workout by insisting on parking so close. Anyways, I would never check out this club for that reason.

The better of the Chuze clubs but just because the others are lacking doesn’t mean we lower the standard. It’s a little nicer version of LA fitness but mostly they put lip stick on pig. Was hopeful for the sauna area but hours are limited and the cooler room at poorly designed. Tropical cafe across the parking lot is cooler then these rooms. They grossly undersized the unit cooler. You might get a 60F room but there should be at least the temp of a beer cave. They should have consulted with professional on the design on the cooler and proper gym layout.

Under the renovation they created a new room called the Lift Lab. They took a key basic floor equipment piece from the main floor and placed it in the Lift Lab. Now to get access to that piece of equipment you have to increase your membership to a premium membership to use the equipment that they sold you on for the basic membership. Really short sighted and I will be looking for a new gym.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! The renovations as part of the new Chuze ownership/merger have made going to the Jax Beach Bailey's a way better experience! Not only is everything new and shiny but the staff is attentive to the cleanliness and functionality of the machines. I like the new staff hours since I am at the gym early and if something is broken or needs oil, now I can report that to one of the 3 staff members. With all of the improvements and upgrades, the last thing I'd like to see is a water bottle refill station. The water fountains do not flow well which makes it hard to fill a bottle and the water (or maybe it's the faucet). Overall, I am very pleased with the changes and will continue to love my gym experience after all of the positive improvements!

I’ve been a member here since 2021 and with recent renovations the new saunas have created an extremely uncomfortable environment for women. They are now coed and men take off their shoes and shirts sometimes even shorts and we are forced to be in close quarters with them. On four occasions now a man who is half naked has tried to engaged in some creepy conversation with me. It’s completely unfair that men can undress knowing that these saunas are coed. Extremely disappointed.

I was a member of this gym from 2005 to 2020. Most of the years were very pleasant.
Exept one manager who worked at the blanding location in O.P. i think his name was Brian or Ryan? I quit the gym because of this manager.
I know this term is used too often
But he was a very hateful individual. Borderline raciest in my opinion. I'll never join Bailys if this manager at that time is still working for this gym. Other then that I absolutely loved workingout at the Bailys.

Man where do I even begin. I’ve been back in Jacksonville for about six months now and I was so happy to come back to Baileys. That was until Chuze bought them out. I signed up for platinum being that having access to multiple locations is so convenient. The general manager signed me up so I assumed there would have been some sort of communication in regards to me not having access to the amenities. Nothing. Not only am I paying for something I can’t use when I called to ask about it. I was told they could only compensate me by dropping my membership down. Now let’s get to the construction. Oakleaf was perfectly fine. I understand them wanting to put their stamp on everything but it’s extremely unaesthetic. I feel like I’m beginning to walk into a planet fitness. Every time I’ve inquired about when construction will be completed, or what phase they’re in. Nobody at Baileys has any answers. The timelines have been off every time. This severe lack of communication by Chuze will be exactly how Baileys will be ran in the future. You would think the construction would start in phases, or they could focus on one location at a time. But that isn’t the case either. They just tear a bunch of areas down and leave them accessible. Equipment also isn’t available and I found out they’re getting rid of the pro shop. Everything that the community loved about Baileys is going away. Not even the team members can make commission anymore. Baileys is coming a larger version of planet fitness and it’s so disappointing. Corporate so out of touch with the community that once made Baileys great.

I'm a BIG BELIEVER in the Bailey's Gym network. Jax Beach is just fine but all Bailey's fitness centers are quality and you cannot find a better overall VALUE for your membership dues. I personally BELIEVE you will not lose interest in regular workouts if you rotate your workout sessions at Bailey's different venues.....it helps to keep your ambition up. Every Bailey's location is just a little different than its brethren.
Most of Baileys have 24 hr access if your membership permits and you can use ANY of their locations depending on whether you're in Gainesville, Jacksonville or Brunswick....Some gyms cost about the same but only have one club, so who has the better deal??

I have been a member for a few years, with a break over Covid, and returned.
I announced an upcoming move to the FL west coast and paid a cancellation fee upfront. I do not have an official document with a new address, as I am staying with a friend, while still searching.
At the next monthly billing date yesterday, I got a threatening email, in a awful tone, that my account was going to collections - why did you not apply my late fee towards the payment?
I called to settle this, on my moving day today (additional stress not needed), and this is apparently standard procedure. There is not a real person to send an email to or a physical address to address a letter.
People, you are a JAX business and should have a little compassion about your locals, as we have many other choices!

Definitely don’t come here if you’re from out of town. This place doesn’t have week passes so if you’re visiting family they’ll hose you. Bring a bunch of water because the water fountains look like they are from the 90s and dispense water that will ruin your tastebuds for the day. I would rate this gym very highly in terms of the equipment (varied and plentiful), staff (pleasant, friendly and helpful with local advice - shout out to Derek and Brad), the other gym users were lovely and they had flexible day and month rates. My only criticism would be there wasn’t an option to have a weekly rate. It’s pretty minor point but put us off a bit. However we were won over by many advantages the gym offered.

I would give 0/5 starts if I could. Managment here is subpar. Zero respect for customers and zero support when calling to try to solve a billing issue. Management Nick at the beach location tries to intimidate and hang up the phone instead of try to help provide a solution. Gym doesn’t file incident reports when major injurys occur in their facility even at the fault of their own employees and their 3rd party personal trainers. All this gym cares about is money. Stay away from here if you want any sort of professional gym expierence.

Whatever you do, do not sign that membership contract or listen to anything they try to promise you. In the end, they will look for any way to squeeze every last dollar out of you.

When signing up for the membership I made them aware that I was waiting to hear back from an internship program 3 hours away and asked if i ended up moving in the future would they be able to cancel it for me. The lady at the desk assured me yes that as long as i sent them my lease they would, as long as i was 25 miles away from the nearest location. (i'm 127 miles away now for reference). So after moving down at the beginning of June, I tried sending emails to get them to cancel it, sure enough with no response i was charged the monthly draft of 37 dollars at the end of June. I try again in July, still no answer. Finally since the payment was going to be pulled again, I called the location directly to only be told they couldn't do anything and I had to go through corporate. Fine. I call corporate and explain the situation including the fact that i've been trying to reach them for over a month, and they demand I pay another month's draft plus a 50 dollar moving fee, and if when they try to take it out it declines, another late fee and they would charge me the full rest of my membership until January or send it to collections eventually. After explaining that me, a college student far from home, doesn't just have 87 dollars to just give away, i was told that my only other option is to let my membership keep going until I could "scrape some money together" and they would keep taking the monthly payments and I could pay the 87 dollars eventually.

They don't care about your situation, moving, or if you even have access to use the membership, as long as they get extra money out of you. Even if you cancel because you cant afford to keep giving them free money, you end up having to give them free payment anyways, almost 100 dollars at that. Ridiculous, do better.

Nicely renovated but serious sewage problems in the men's bathroom. Even after the renovation they couldn't fix the sewer problem so it always smells like the sewage is backing up in the men's bathroom. They are the only business I know of that if you lose your credit card and have to cancel it and forget to notify them, they automatically charge you $20 without a warning. That's even if you've been a loyal customer and paid on time for seven years Any other business contacts you to let you know your credit card payment didn't go through. Super greedy! If you call customer service there is no apology, just pay up. I had even continued to pay them a hold fee for 2020 during Covid without using their services. Then I went to cancel because I'd created my own gym. The nice guy at the desk said "no worries" he'd make sure I got the $20 back at the final hold payment. It didn't happen. Smelly facility, poor communication, poor training and greedy. There are better gyms out there.

No masks. For some reason you must wear a mask between the door and the gym floor. I wonder if science tells us that Covid 19 only spreads in the zone between the door, and the gate. ....and as if it couldn't get any worse, every cable news station they display in Fox. They at least had CNN on one for some time, but now it's gone.

If you're wondering about their Covid mask policy- the staff wear them and the majority of the patrons do not.

There is a wide array of cardio and weightlifting equipment in the gym. There is also some functional, crossfit-type stuff. Olympic weightlifters should look elsewhere- there are no bumper plates.

It can get pretty crowded, but there are enough duplicates of most equipment that you usually won't have to wait long to use what you want.

The staff is friendly and helpful.

Today I tried to downgrade my membership and was told that is a $130 fee. I am so sick of gyms trying to treat members like this that I just canceled my membership and I’m done with this organization. I wanted to save myself some money but Bailey’s is all about taking as much as they can. The front desk staff were nice and called management and management would not budge on this. Screw you Bailey’s!

Love this location! All staff are nice and helpful. They are working very hard and always listen to your comments/concerns. Come here about 5 times per week and it’s always clean!!

Requires a doctor note if you get injured and can't attend the gym anymore, otherwise they keep billing you. Pretty shady business practices

Staff is friendly but be careful signing contracts. Upon my doctor's advise to avoid gym settings (including a doctors note) due covid19 and underlying medical conditions the gym will not cancel contract. They are asking for what I feel is HIPPA confidential medical information about my condition.
