If you need to " pause" your membership the people answering the phone often advise you to "call back later, for someone who can help" then when you finally do they give you the run around, but they will NOT forget to charge you the $59 annual fee. Even tried to tell me I never paused it, but then slipped up and admitted someone had put a 'note' on my account that I'd called requesting to have it paused but obviously never followed through. Did seem like I was going to stop getting the run-around until I requested email proof of the interaction so that a Fraud charge could be filed upon their next attempt to charge my account.

Outstanding Gym Experience

I have trained in many gyms over the years and Crunch Fitness Tallahassee truly stands out. The staff is friendly and welcoming, but what impressed me most is how clean this facility is. Whoever is responsible for keeping it that way is doing an exceptional job. Every machine is spotless, the floors are well maintained, and it shows that they take pride in the environment.

I tried one of the hydro massage chairs for the first time and it was a great bonus after a tough workout. The sauna is excellent too.

It is refreshing to see a gym that takes care of both its members and its facility. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Crunch Fitness has a wide variety of equipment, although some are out of order; however, the clean and spacious space is impressive. I enjoy using the sauna and hydromassage. But some staff members are a bit rude, and there is no nearby gym near my home. Most of the time, even if you signed up, classes are not available, and it's hard to find assistance. I was charged for two extra months just to cancel my membership despite not planning to attend. What’s worse is that you can't cancel online or even at the gym; you’re forced to call during limited business hours.

Previously gave a great review but since being signed on as a member and being in the gym a few weeks, have to revise it. The equipment is worn, covers torn, equipment is dirty, take a look at the cardio equipment sometime. The only thing i have seen them clean is the showers but they do that in the morning rush hours when you need it the most. The tanning beds are never clean, and only a few of the rooms have chairs. For some reason they have chairs near the hydro massage beds instead. The staff is only friendly to younger members and the male staff other than two, are only friendly to female members. If you ask a question they give the appearance of being put off.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM. I went here during my time at FSU, and once I graduated in Spring 2023 I attempted at least 10 different times to cancel my membership over the phone and over email. I was also told by an employee named Noah on May 9th, 2024 that I would have my membership canceled and be refunded for the past 6 months since I provided proof of prior efforts to cancel as soon as his manager signed off on it and there was complete radio silence following that. They refused to answer any emails at the listed address and the only way I was finally able to get the circus over with was to take every card off file until it got terminated and sent to a debt collector. Overall was robbed of hundreds of dollars for well over a calendar year while halfway across the country, and if you want to avoid the headache just go literally anywhere else.

I called four times over the course of a week to try to cancel my membership with no answer, left multiple messages with no response. When I just called for a fifth time they informed me that I will have to pay for another 30 days from today. I realize now that they were purposely avoiding my calls to get more money out of me. I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for two great aspects of the gym: the friendly and helpful staff, and the spacious environment equipped with large fans that make it easy to breathe while working out.

However, I have noticed that many of the gym’s equipment is in poor condition, with several machines frequently out of order. For example, a significant number of treadmills are not functioning properly, and many machines lack proper cushioning, which could potentially lead to knee injuries over time. I kindly recommend upgrading the equipment and perhaps assigning an employee to monitor the gym. This way, if anyone is misusing the machines—such as releasing cables too quickly, which can damage the equipment—they can be given a warning.

Additionally, it seems unusual for a gym of this size, with over 5,000 members, to have only one hack squat machine and one lower back extension machine. The leg press also require attention and maintenance.

In summary, upgrading the equipment would greatly enhance the experience for all members. As many people are considering other gyms due to these issues, I believe that if a new gym opens nearby with updated equipment, members may be inclined to switch. We truly enjoy the atmosphere in this gym, and I hope you will consider these suggestions for improvement.

Business run by scamming people, specifically college students. I was charged $100 just to cancel my membership. Not to mention the random charges they would put on my account. They trap you into a contract agreement in which you pay way more than you should. The equipment is either out of order or takes forever to use depending on the time of day you go. The company is not even based in the US. When I got tired of talking to college workers who don’t really know what’s going on, I was directed to “upper management” who turned out to be a what seemed like a telemarketer. I was on the phone for over an hour just to ask about my current plan. By the end of the conversation I had cancelled my plan. Worst business I’ve ever dealt with!

This Crunch is a great affordable beginning gym. 4/5. Three things 1.) The staff will try to upsell you. 2.) Its lacks any speciality bars or attachments. 3.) The free weight plates are always VERY disorganized but their are plenty so it makes up for it. Side note grips are mostly a must here as the barbells aren't groved and weight slip easily.

Worst management at the front desk. I lost my scooter when parked in their premises and all I asked was to check the cctv footage and tell me if it was a member or a homeless person. Manager Dilan says we cannot tell you if it’s a member. It’s like he wants to protect the thief and don’t want to help me out in anyway. He didn’t even bother to look at the footage after making me wait for 2days. But they just don’t go back to market their PT for ridiculous amounts of money. You cannot count of them for even a small help which is totally in their hands…They’re very irresponsible and commercial.

The gym itself is nice with great equipment, but it gets extremely crowded in the afternoons.

The front desk staff is hit or miss—some are friendly, while others are rude and even gossip about customers. Clearly, there’s no consistent customer service training.

Tried going in today to hit legs, I haven’t gone in a while and was trying to get some normalcy in my routine after the shooting. All of the leg machines I use were broken. Two leg curls down, one leg extension, one leg press. It’s frustrating not being able to use equipment at a gym you pay for. "Genuinely a very nice facility, very large (at least compared to most Crunches, like 2x the size), minimal if not no waiting for machines, machines are not loose and they seem new.

The staff were very helpful and Kind. Anya in particular was extremely helpful and friendly and took me through the membership in a lot of detail and helped me get a great deal. Rahul was also very helpful and kind, taking me in detail through their coaching program and its cool high-tech amenities. I genuinely lost Rahul's phone number and forgot to respond, so I feel kind of bad for ghosting him (not on purpose!) and hope he sees this!

I know this seems like a bot review but genuinely these staff members were very helpful and professional, and the gym was genuinely really nice.

I unfortunately stopped going because my new job has me extremely busy, but I do yearn to lift and hope to integrate it into my lifestyle again A.S.A.P., which is why I still have my membership."

I started my crunch membership when I lived in Jacksonville. The equipment was maintained well and had QR codes for us lifters to report any issues.
I’ve moved to Tallahassee and started going to this one and there’s just a lot wrong. It’s 2pm on a Tuesday, I just drove around the bldg 3x looking for a parking spot. Sounds like there needs to be another crunch built in the capital. There’s a whole row of cable machines that don’t have their own grips and some of them are broken. There’s no back up grips either for the most part either for the central cable units. There’s so many college students that go to this one and only location that I have to change my workout and sleep schedule to accommodate being able to goto the gym and actually workout. So if i can’t workout late night, im unfortunately going to be canceling my membership and looking elsewhere out of necessity because im not paying crunch fitness to not be able to workout. I’m not waiting in a line to workout or to use equipment that I also pay monthly to use. I just think it’s absurd that the parking lot is packed full and the gym floor has lines for the equipment and there’s no other location to goto, it just doesn’t make any sense.

90% of the time it’s very crowded and you’re going to have to wait to get a station to work out at. I didn’t mind that though, since I always either try to go early morning or late night to avoid the crowd.

I eventually started to just started working out at home, and forgot I had the membership, it’s probably been over 7 months since I’ve been actively going, and have been going. That’s cool since it was totally my fault.

What I didn’t like was that while I was away they changed their policy, and the only way to cancel the policy is to call a number, and cancel the call center that’s based somewhere, from their accents I’m assuming is in India. If you want to cancel you have to basically pay a cancellation fee before they “allow” you to cancel. And apparently in store they’re just completely unable to help you With canceling at all. I canceled in store before, but they apparently changed the policy.

If you don’t like terrible policies like that I recommend finding a local gym instead, and reading over the policies.

Complete scammers! I moved away after school and shared with the manager I could not come in to discuss my cancellation. They made absolutely no effort to reach out to me and continued charging me for 6 months including an annual fee. Sleazy and unprofessional especially after years of seeing the desk staff daily and then not showing up anymore.

This is my second visit to this gym, and I've had the same negative experience with the same employee, Kylie. On both occasions, while accompanying my sister-in-law as her guest, no one is at the front desk or paying attention when we enter. We sign in, but Kylie loudly calls across the gym, rudely demanding that we sign in again. She then asks to see my ID, despite the fact that I’ve already signed in as a guest and insists I pay a $10 guest fee, even though my sister in law has a peak results membership. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging the mistake, she doubles down on her demand. I have memberships at three other gyms and have never encountered such incompetence. This lack of professionalism, bordering on discriminatory behavior, must be addressed by the owner. The front desk staff needs better training in customer service, implicit racial bias, and paying attention to the desk.
