Joined about a month back. I been in gyms my whole life. About to turn 76, yikes. This gym has the best equipment in the area, staff is amazing! Total facility is spot on! LA fitness can not compete! Love the fact that they have a steam room. Titan at the front desk is cool. If only the equipment here wasn’t consistently broken, including the hydro massage. Then they take forever to fix them, they have the weirdest trash cans ever that don’t even hold trash properly. Half the time I come here now, I don’t even know what the hell I’m paying for. If it wasn’t for the free weights there wouldn’t be a gym.

This used to be a good gym. Idk if its because they changed management but the equipment here is always broke, or its not serviceable to the proper capacity ut was designed for. They do a better job maintaining the equipment at the sunrise location than they do here in Tamarac.

I have been going to this location for a few months now. One of the class that like taking is the group fitness strength class. I really didn't know what i was doing when I first started and was worried that I would injure myself. But RUBY the instructor is very observed. She walks around to make sure that we doing it the right way, and if not she correct us and I appreciate her for that. I take a couple of her classes a week and I truly made progress. One of the best instructor at crunch tamarac... Thank you Ruby....

This place is nice and full of machines but when it comes to personal training they trick you and give you wrong information just to have you sign. Then after I cancelled my personal training they kept charging my card for training fees. I went to them on April 2025 to request a refund they accepted the refund request and both Nate and I signed the refund financial document but until now 5 months ago I didnt receive my money yet. I went to them today to check on the status of my refund for the 3rd time and Nate let me reapply for the refund request.

Saturday, August 23, my daughter invited me to be a guest at this facility in Tamarac Florida, where she has been a member for 3 years. Its her birthday week and wanted me to join her water aerobics class. When we arrived she met a Crunch gentleman at the front desk and informed him that I was joining her as a guest. He then went to another employee by the name of Jessica to inform her that I was a visiting for the first time as a guest. Jessica told my daughter that I could not take the water class as a guest. My daughter informed her that she had already spoken to someone who had given her a guest card and told her that it was okay. She was pleading that we drove such a long way
could she make an exception this time? Jessica informed us that, yes, she had the authority to make an exception, but it wasn't a REQUIREMENT. If so why would an employee not make it happen if they had room to do so? Is this about controlling because you can???
I became a silver sneakers member only a few days before this incident. I had never used my membership prior to visiting this facility. I shared that info that I just became a Silver Sneakers member, swiped my card to check in, once again, I was told that my membership would not allow me to do the water class. After going back and forth, pleading to allow us to join the class it was still a no. Very disappointing. On Monday, Aug 25th I called to speak with supervisor Kayla Howard concerning this matter. I introduced myself asked her was she familiar with what happened Saturday? Her reply was somewhat. However, she had my membership record available knew exactly when I joined ect....Kyla Howard was already prepared, to offer no support or comfort or to effectively listen to me. Kyla RESPONSED by cutting me off.. saying ma'am this happened Saturday., what do you want me to do? I don't have time to spend twenty minutes with you on this matter I have other things to take care of. (INAPPROPRIATE AND UNACCEPTABLE) She ended by saying. Jessica was correct not letting you take the class.Have a good day! Should this be a SUPERVISOR s response to a 65 year old SILVER SNEAKERS MEMBER?
What happened to well is seemed to be a misunderstanding so let's see if we can offer you xyz.
Superviors set the tone in an establishment after speaking to them you can always tell why the employers behave the way they do.
Learn how to DEESCLATE situations. Certainly telling someone you don't have time for a conversation doest equate to DEESCLATION.
Also explain why your website clearly states that guest passes are honored including classes. It also stated that classes are offered for Silver Sneakers members.
Lastly, not looking to break rules.Just good customer service and positive resolutions.

Gym is ok, the best classes are not that good too many stations and overcrowded.
But only Oakland has a few of the good classes.

I’m beyond frustrated with Crunch Fitness in Tamarac. The gym itself is clean and nice, but the front desk staff are an absolute disgrace! They’re downright rude, especially over the phone, brushing off questions like they can’t be bothered. They act like they’re too busy to help, rushing you off the line, but when you show up, they’re just goofing off, chatting with coworkers, or glued to their phones. It’s infuriating! This unprofessional behavior is unacceptable and ruins what could be a great gym. Management needs to step up and fix this mess now!

Yesterday during my lovely leg day I decided to finish with 30 mins of Cardio on the Stair-master. To my surprise 5 mins into it, my phone decided to leap inside of the machine! I was sure the steps were crushing it into pieces! I was able to get assistance at the front desk. Kayla sprung into action with her screw driver and got my phone out in one piece. I’ve been coming to this Crunch Gym for over a year now. I understand that machines can break due to misuse, but what concerns me is how long they stay out of service. Today, I counted more than 5 broken machines, and it’s something I’ve noticed happens often. Even worse, there’s usually no signage to warn members, which can be unsafe.
I don’t think it’s fair that we’re paying for a service where access to working equipment should be guaranteed, yet many machines are constantly out of order and poorly maintained. I really hope management takes this seriously and improves the maintenance and safety of the gym.

This gym is very well maintained with quality equipment that is usually only in luxury gyms. I worked out at this gym for the first time today and I could not find any broken equipment. The gym members are mostly novice so the really good equipment is untouched and readily available. This gym has everything. The only negative is that employees are not very engaging but that really doesn’t matter to me as I’m here to work out and not make friends.

If no star was a selection they would not even get 1 star because of there customer service. I signed up for a 3 day pass to get a feel for the enviorenment and the minute I get there I was greeted by one of the girls in the front. I told her I had a 3 day pass and what I was trying to do and out the gate she tried to convince me to sign up on the spot. I told her clearly again I'm not ready to sign up I just want to get a feel for the place and when I make a decision i will sign up online. She mentioned if I don't sign up today i will be paying 115.00 online. When i told her they run promos all the time she got upset and snatched my ID, told me fine pay more online. That left such a bad taste in my mouth i didnt even want to work out no more regardless if it was on the house. I know im just one customer but in America every penny counts and my penny will be one that Crunch will not get. Soon as i left I signed up at Youfit for a 3 day pass when i got there no one harassmed me and i was not in the front for no more than 5 minutes and customer service was amazing. Maybe Crunch should not have a 3 day pass sign up if the whole idea is to get you in and try and sell you on the idea that if you don't sign up now for 5 cents you will pay 115.00 online. Disgusting.

Let me express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration regarding my recent experience with Crunch -Tamarac personal training program, which I feel has been misleading, dishonest, and borderline predatory.
I have been a member of Crunch Fitness for no more than 8 days. Upon joining over the phone, I was asked about completing a training session and agreed to a one-time $10 payment for a single introductory training session. I joined the gym primarily for health reasons and was particularly interested in the scheduled group classes that are included in the membership.
During my first visit, I trained with Amanda for 45minutes, I enjoyed. I expressed interest in possibly working with her again in the future but emphasized that I did not have time to discuss it in detail at that moment. Nonetheless, she asked to sit down briefly to review to discuss areas of struggle during our workout session, which I appreciated. During that conversation, Amanda showed me a brochure. From what I understood, the training options were flexible daily, weekly or monthly packages, and that I could select a few sessions as needed. She then brought me to Nate, the manager, who rushed through the process and simply said, “Let’s get this set up for you when you’re ready.”
At that time, I made it very clear that I did not have my payment card on hand and that the card already on file was not the card I would be using for any personal training fees. I was told that was fine. I initialed on the keypad under the assumption that I was not committing to any charges and that this was a way to hold my information until I brought the correct payment method in. Keep in mind the signature pad is very small and can’t really see, and now it’s clear at this point they don’t want you to see the fine print. At no point did I schedule sessions, agree to a recurring plan, or authorize any charges. The next day, I received a call from a CJ asking for a card to be placed on file, to which I responded that I was no longer interested in the training. This was within 24 hours of the initial conversation, he then said you will need to come into cancel we can’t do it ove the phone. Later that evening, I visited the gym and spoke with Nate again, only to be told that I was locked into a contract — something never clearly explained nor agreed upon. When I tried to cancel, I was met with a pushback and conflicting information about the process, much of which completely contradicted what had originally been told to me. To make matters worse, this morning I discovered that Crunch attempted to charge the card on file without my consent — a card I had already stated was not for use on personal training services.
This experience has left me feeling misled, taken advantage of, and extremely disappointed. The handling of this situation reflects poor communication, a lack of transparency, and inadequate customer care. I came to Crunch to improve my health, not to be roped into deceptive billing practices. I am requesting that the unauthorized personal training contract be voided immediately, that no further charges be attempted, and that a full explanation be provided regarding how this process was allowed to proceed without clear consent. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate it to corporate, my bank for unauthorized charges, and, if necessary, local consumer protection agencies. Biggest Scam

The people there were nice but my issue was the payment. Personally I prefer to pay at the gym because gyms tend to have “hidden fees” my membership cost $35 but when I was going to pay it I see I owe $165. When I looked online I see a $40 and my membership being charged $65.

I had to pay for 2 separate accounts because they refused to give me an account for me and my 2 sons. Makes no sense to not be able to have a family plan. I’ll be looking for a new gym membership in the next month. Cause this is ridiculous. Crunch Fitness on commercial Blv and State Rd 7 is amazing!! The staff was very helpful. The place is clean and the associates are respectful and vibrant. During my workout I was able to observe some staff training clients. They seemed to be organized and detailed. South Florida residents should really consider joining Crunch and specifically this location.

Same experience as the rest of the bad reviews. Shady business practices goin on here. Signed up here, never had a chance to go due to family issues. Called and tried to cancel the membership, they want you to come in to cancel it even though you can sign up through apps, websites and phone calls but god forbid you call and try to cancel it, it’s just too hard to do it apparently. Finally got it canceled just to realize they trap you in contracts so I was still being charged and didn’t know. There are Atleast 5/6 other gyms around, just pick another gym. Crunch is about taking your money, they don’t care how they get it. Also when you call, be prepared to sit on hold for 5/20 minutes at a time 😂. Everytime I called to try to speak to a manager, they just so happen to be having the busiest day in the history of the gym. I’m telling you, find another gym

Nothing is wrong with the location or facility here. I joined this gym before they opened just after covid. I was too pay $20/month and can cancel anytime... I was not informed of the annual membership fee of $75.. no problem due to work i was not able to go to this gym for almost 2 years. I went in to cancel my membership and was told I needed to pay to have it canceled as it was in my "contract". I asked for a copy of the contract and they have me a blank copy of their contract... where is the one I signed? They don't have it but can assure me it says that... the girl at the counter Laureen was very rude as was the general manager (some dude under 30 forgot his name) behaving like I'm trying to scam them... bottom line is I either pay yo cancel or they leave my membership open and I continue to get billed... these ppl are thieves... I signed up for a trainer and never used the hours but was told it expired cause I didn't use it... I know u are simply out to make money but common man you're part of the community... glad to see others posting about their rip off tactics... stay away from this gym

Ground breaking atmosphere; I’ve never been to a gym as dedicated and consistently working on retaining its members and promoting health like this one. LA Fitness is just a name they could never compete or stand on what crunch is/has/& will doing. If equipment isn’t functioning one day within hours most days it’s up for maintenance and is available again. The staff is impeccable it’s honestly hard to discover a gym with the qualities and amenities like Crunch. Another benefit is the cleanliness they enable any member that walks through the glass doors to accomplish any task and forefront they envisioned.

The staff is amazing, and the facility is clean. But as a bodybuilder with a degree in exercise science I had very high hopes that with the renovations going on that they would add better equipment variety for legs instead of relying on their garbage orange "hoist" equipment for seated leg curl and leg extensions, but instead they added more chest press variations, other upper body machine variations, and an iso lateral plate loaded leg extension and laying leg curl machine. I will give them the fact that they replaced one of the hack squats to a newer one (which is cool ig) and added another leg press machine with a much wider base (MUCH BETTER FOR KNEE FLEXION IE QUAD AND GLUTE HYPERTROPHY), but there is no application in the whole known and unknown universe where such isolation for leg exercises are needed! EVER!! To counter devils advocate you can use a single leg on any leg extension or leg curl machine if you're that conscientious about symmetry or whatever, but 99% of the members that go to Crunch fitness don't care for such nonsense and such intricacies. Their only saving grace is the Nautilus plate loaded machines they have for incline, neutral, and decline press, chest row, and other pulldown variations, and the hack squat machine they didn't replace. Oh and before I forget, they used to have 2 separate areas for water fountains. Since the renovation there has only been one. I'm so dumbfounded on the thought process on who selected the machines that were going to be added for their renovation/face lift. Even from a coats stand point it doesn't make sense. This is the only crunch location I've been to that has 4 variety options for upper body exercises (bumbells, bench and barbells, nautilus machines, AND NOW HAMMER STRENGTH MACHINES 🤦🏻♂️). Im very disappointed and most likely will not ever workout at this facility again because of how upsetting it is to see how much potential was wasted with this recent "renovation"

I had not cometh to this Crunch in over a year and a half, and they've made some awesome changes! Super impressed with the addition of more squat racks and just overall a much better use of the space, that black carpet in the corner was pointless and they finally took away the signs in the mirrors in front of the squat section, truly awesome changes, would def take the extra time to drive here more often.

iF i COULD GIVE -1000 STARS i WOULD. This is a scam.
Before you join make sure you sit and understand ALL the garbage fees they are throwing into your contract. My advice would be to go to a gym that is reputable and honest.
They have something they call an initiation fee with all these garbage fees they charge. i think it is for the Asir you breath. This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.
What was supposed to be a yearly fee plus 9.99 a month turned into $ a 312 dollar bill Thank God we can afford this and we will pay and when the contract is over we will move out business to a more honest and reputable gym whose owner is honest and truthful NOT a scammer.
This is an unacceptable practice and we are in the process of filing a legal brief with the attorney general to ensure these fees are actually legal and permissible under the Florida statute.
Customer service and happiness in the cornerstone of having a successful business but in Florida it appears to be more about the scam and the art of the scam then happy customers.
We are also sending out a scathing letter to Crunch on how honest a dishonest gym owner makes it bad for the Crunch name and brand.

By far the absolute worse gym in the world. Especially the tamarac location. Big liars, scammers and false advertisers. The are not for helping ppl genuinely it’s simply trying to get their extra lil commission on their check. I have a snap chat recording of the crew member who signed me up saying NO this isn’t a contract you can quit and anytime. Told me the plan was 19.99 with my veterans discount (clearly a lie) I’ve been charged $35 monthly then was charged and additional $64 for an annual something when I had absolutely no recognition of that AT ALL. The crew member NEVER EVER mentioned that . And when asked to speak with a supervisor about the incident his reply was “you signed it” very disgusting distasteful. This gym has alot of different activities that you can participate in depending on your membership plan. I personally like crunch fitness and their training program we have a really cool trainer named Sage who keeps my friend and I in check which helps keep us motivated and of course when you bring a friend it's definitely more enjoyable. They are updating this location with more equipment which I think is a good idea because the gym is packed.

Scammers. I signed up for personal training for three months after which I cancelled. I used to really like working out here, but it’s gone down hill. The layout is amazing and they have every single perk, except the tanning bed. The trainers are questionable and the company culture is not focused on customer service. Love the hydro bed at the end of my set, but it’s been out of order due to the construction for a while now.
It’d become one of my least favorite crunches but it’s the one closest to my house. Honestly I will be switching to a new gym this year.

SCAM ALERT – Crunch Fitness Tamarac Uses Illegal & Deceptive Sales Tactics
Crunch Fitness Tamarac is one of the most dishonest and deceptive businesses I’ve ever encountered. I should’ve known something was off when two of their employees came into my workplace begging to leave their business cards. We said no, and that should’ve been my sign to avoid them.
But no—they baited me with a “25-cent first-month membership.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t actually 25 cents.
Then came the real scam: their so-called ‘Kickoff’ program. If they try to sign you up for this, SHUT IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. They withhold critical details, get you tired from working out, and then pressure you into signing contracts while you’re exhausted. They rush through the paperwork and mislead you into thinking it’s free, already paid for, or mandatory.
Illegal & Deceptive Practices:
This gym is potentially violating Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) by using:
✅ False Advertising – Bait-and-switch tactics (the fake 25-cent membership deal).
✅ Deceptive Sales Practices – Misleading consumers into thinking the “Kickoff” program was free or mandatory.
✅ Unfair Business Tactics – High-pressure sales targeting vulnerable customers (exhausted and unaware).
The biggest red flag? They straight-up LIED and implied that I “needed” their personal training to work out safely, hinting that I couldn’t even use the gym unless I bought into the program. Even though if I were to get hurt in the gym they would hold no liability therefore no accountability. This is blatantly false and a clear consumer rights violation.

Fraud fraud fraud . I called them to cancel the membership because I had to move out of state. They said everything was canceled. I tried to call corporate to double check but they don’t even have one. They sent me to collections for $219 with NO prior notice and this has delayed my process to purchasing my home. I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Crunch Fitness, particularly with their lack of transparency and honesty regarding their personal fitness training program. When I signed up with fitness trainer Olivia, I was not given a full breakdown of how the program worked, the specific terms, or the policies regarding cancellation. Instead the manager, Nate, led me to believe it would be a flexible program that I could cancel at any time if I chose to.
However, when I tried to cancel, I was met with unexpected resistance and misleading information. I was told conflicting details about the cancellation process that were completely different from what I was initially promised. It became clear that they either deliberately withheld critical details upfront or failed to properly train their staff to communicate accurate information.
This experience has left me feeling frustrated, misled, and disrespected. It’s unacceptable for a business to operate this way, especially when it comes to financial commitments and customer trust.
To make matters worse, their staff seemed more focused on upselling additional services than actually helping me resolve my issue. The whole process felt unprofessional and exploitative, as if their priority was to trap me into an agreement I couldn’t easily get out of.
If you’re considering signing up for their training programs, make sure you demand a written copy of all terms and ask very specific questions about the cancellation policy before committing. Unfortunately, my experience has shown me that Crunch Fitness does not value transparency or customer satisfaction, and I cannot in good faith recommend them to others.

I stopped to go to this place mainly for 2 reasons: the "music" they always have on, is an unbearable noise sooo loud and annoying, like if you were in a casino or a night club. Even with earplugs or trying to listen to my own music with earphones, the noise was terrible. I asked a couple of times to put it down, and they did it a little, and minutes again returned to the same. The other reason, they canceled several yoga classes that fit on my schedule or changed it for others or put it earlier, making me impossible to attend. Finally, when I decided to cancel, they told me a very complicated story to do it, I insisted and the day I went to cancel, they told me their computer was not working, but promised the next day to cancel that payment and add a month free because the inconvenience. Of course, they didn't, and they continued charging. I went again, and this time, they gave me like a "receipt " for my cancelation, and guess what? They charged again next month! So, I called my credit card, and I disputed those 2 months, and now they send me emails every day to tell me I am owning them that money, thing that can affect my credit score. I called them, and they insisted the cancelation "was in process," and in the meantime, they continued charging. I reminded them about the day their computer was down, and the guy ignored my comments and continued making up stories of the rules, the dates, etc. I will go again in person, but it is like useless, everybody looks busy, even the manager hardly listened to me, and it looks nobody is really on charge of customer services. Like a lot of advantageous companies, they make it very easy to enroll and impossible to cancel. Shame on them. Be careful if you plan to enroll here.

The staff at this gym needs training on how to address disrespectful members who constantly use their phones while occupying equipment/machines instead of working out. Me and other members are not paying to constantly wait for out of shape people to sit on a machine and watch movies, games, etc., or talk nonstop on their phones. If you bring it to one of the employees at the front desk they just give you a dumbfounded look. If you ask the person that’s occupying a machine that you would like to use how many more sets do they have, they lie saying they just started or they have 2 or 3 more sets. I was waiting for the standing squat machine and the creep that was hanging out at the machine was texting on his phone. I did 3 sets of leg extensions and 3 sets of hamstring curls all while watching this creep at the standing squat machine the entire time texting. I walked over and asked him how many sets did he have and he said 2 more. I said that’s odd because you have done nothing but text on your phone for over 25 minutes. I have yet to see you do one set. He said something crazy to me and I told him not to speak to me because I’m not that person. He continued talking trash until I finally told him to shut up and work on his awful body or leave the gym. I am going to visit Amp fitness because I can’t continue to spend 2 plus hours in a gym for a workout that is normally 1 1/2 hours (including 20 minutes of cardio). The gym etiquette here is disgusting. Instead of trying to get a certain quantity of members you should work on getting quality members. Don’t wait until you have a situation between one of your rude and disrespectful bad body members to change the awful culture brewing at this Crunch Fitness.

I have refrained from reviewing this gym because it’s not all bad. The group sessions here are great, led by Carrie, Chastity, Laura, Ruby and Kervens to name a few, you are guaranteed a great workout. Equipment availability and cleanliness are pretty good and the steam room works sometimes.
WHY IS CUSTOMER SERVICE SO POOR?, it detracts from every other aspect of this gym. I’ve been a peak member since February 2022, every time I call or visit the desk I leave upset. All the effort put into training personal trainers, spend an hour teaching front desk about policies and procedures.
I intended to suspend my membership, but in frustration I ended it. I went in, signed my paperwork on July 31, 24 with zero balance and 1 month notice, (I had called regarding suspension and then advised them I’m coming to cancel, management never advised I needed to do anything else).
I received a call from a nasty collection rep named Snesal regarding $34 for the upcoming August.She threateningly asked if I still live at my address, “yes I do, and what of it?” Please see The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I decided to join Crunch Coral Springs after my training, but decided against it.
It’s now October and they keep adding monthly fees, regardless of a signed zero balance Membership Cancellation Form. Also there is no one to help you with issues, you have to deal with it through your bank or the courts.
I really hope this helps them to tighten up, because it is a great gym.

This place of business has truly gone down. Today no one showed up until 6. There's no hotwater for bathing, the shower area is not clean. You can see transactions taking place there that shouldn't. They say they'll cancel water aerobics because of numbers when we come faithfully but the upkeep of the business isn't the best. We pay on time and subject to missing our 5 am workouts because of staff shortage, the gym isn't clean, items are always broken not working. It's convenient but I may have to visit others where services are better maintained. As a breast cancer survivor my workouts are very important and so is the cleanliness of a business and right now this place of business is declining. Praying for a turn around at this one.

I was working out at this location without a problem until I became pregnant and asked to freeze my account. One of the mangers said he would freeze my account for 6 months. After 3 months I was charged. I ended up being charged for 2 months before I was able to freeze it again. When I asked why I was charged they told me because I didn't bring in a doctor's note. No one had informed me that I needed this documentation to freeze my account for 6 months. I asked if I could get a refund or if they could put the 2 months I paid towards future months and no one will get back to me. Had I been informed about the needed documentation to freeze my account for 6 months would have provided it. I came to the location on 2 different accounts to try and get this fixed but they do not seem to care or want to help fix their errors!
This is not how business should be done. This owner is only out to steal money from their customers! It's a terrible way to run a business.

I have been coming to this gym for 6 months now and I really find it out of place. 15 days ago I saw 2 children with their parents in the pool. Today I came with my daughters and they did not allow me to enter. Making me feel bad in front of them. They say the insurance doesn't allow it, I think they don't treat everyone equally here. 10 days ago they had a homeless man who attacked me with racist phrases in the bathroom where I found him sleeping. That day no one said anything. I don't understand how they can deny a father being with his daughters but they do allow homeless people sleeping in the bathrooms attacking people who are only going to train
