The equipment here is much better than my gym back home and is incredibly well maintained. All new Arsenal machines; well maintained hammer strengths. Good cardio equipment. Charlie at the front desk rocks the house! I arrived with two weeks before my gym membership could start and he immediately solved my problem by offering me a simple card with several complimentary visits. I'll never forget how welcomed he made me feel and it turns out I drive 50 minutes each way to receive the best yoga classes available in the entire region. Way over priced. Gym is very small, equipment too close together and is limited, cables are not smooth. Does not have a straight bar pull-up. Gym is often over- crowded and members are rude about sharing/working in. No evening yoga classes. The sauna does not get hot enough and stinks. Dust is usually on the equipment. Been a member at better gyms in the area for way better price.

I recently had the pleasure of working out at Destin Fitness for four days, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best gym experiences I’ve ever had. I was looking for a new gym so I visited a few in the area. Nothing special but then I stopped by DHF. Lexi greeted me when I walked in and asked me if I wanted a tour. Although I didn't take the tour she let me walk around and check the place out. The next day she let me get in a trial workout. She was pretty awesome so I belong here now. The past four years, the barbershop inside the gym has played an absolutely crucial role with Destin Health and Fitness. It's beyond infuriating to see new owners shamelessly trying to kick us out for no reason at all. It is downright outrageous. Their intentions are nothing short of greed, as they shamelessly aim to tack on a recovery room just so they can skyrocket gym membership prices. I can't believe they have the audacity to crush a small business like ours, covering up our shop and blocking our kiosk accusing us of wrongdoing. And as if that wasn't enough, the owner himself has made it his mission to threaten me a gazillion times with his $800 million wealth and fancy, high-priced attorneys. He even put his hands on me and was able to get a favor from the sheriff's department. Oh, yeah, like it would have totally happened if I was to put a finger on him. Seriously, who would believe that? I could just open up a new barbershop, but I’m making a stand based on principle. The gym personnel continues to do a great job. I have lots of respect for Mark and the employees, most of them, as they tolerate owners because they need their jobs and genuinely care about the members.

The bathrooms were stocked with some basic products, which is nice if you end up forgetting something. They have a sauna. I didn’t use it, but it’s good to know there’s an option.

I was in the area for a couple days working. The guy sold me a day pass and gave me a card for another day for free (i was only there for 2 days so a week pass was unnecessary) so that instantly shows the character of the staff, very helpful and friendly. instantly got up to give me a tour knowing he wasn't getting a membership out of me. Thats someone who takes pride in their job as well as the well being of others.
The gym itself is quiet and not over crowded. Slightly above average equipment, you will have everything you need. They even provide razors, toothpaste, towels, and a few other things that im not used to gyms providing. Their showers were great! Water pressure and temp was spot on.
Wouldn't hesitate to come back if in the area!

I love this gym! I just spent 2 months in Destin. I wanted to join a gym nearby because I’m a “class girl”-lol! I was as able to join for $120 per month - (and the 2nd month was 15% off). The monthly membership is very easy-no contracts or hidden fees, etc. Simple. The staff is friendly. The gym is kept very clean. They provide fresh towels at the front desk, which is nice! The instructors and classes are AWESOME! Lisa, Erica, Glenda, Anna and Jill were great! Honestly besides the beautiful beaches and weather-Destin Health & Fitness is one of my favorite parts of these last 2 months! I will definitely go back when I am there. I did not use the cardio or weight machines outside the group fitness room but it appeared that they were all well maintained and there was plenty of everything!

I have been exercising at various gyms across the country and DHF club is by far the best. The weight exercise apparatus are among the best and the gym atmosphere is extraordinary. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and treat you more like a friend than customer especially Jenn who I look forward to seeing every trip to DHF. My husband and I were first time visitors to Destin. We were able to join DHF through Renew Active while there for two weeks. From the time we went in to sign up and get a tour (with Frank) to the last Muscle Pump class with Lisa, we felt welcomed and enjoyed the large selection of workout options. We left Destin in better shape than when we arrived! I was so moved by the friendliness of the women we met that I cried saying goodbye! DHF is a very special place. Thank you to everyone!

I've been working out at DH&F for several months and I could go on-and-on about my beyond positive experiences. First, I love the variety of equipment along with the positive condition of same. Secondly, the management, i.e. Mark, is on top of everything and genuinely cares about the facility, equipment, staffing, & guests! Thirdly, love the variety of hours (5 am on weekdays). Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, ALL THE STAFF are INCREDIBLE! They all are tuned into their clients. Personally, I've only met Ashley (AMAZING!) and taking Jujutsu lessons from Carl (absolutely the BEST JUJUTSU/BOXING instructor)!!! As a resident of Destin for six years now, I consider DH&F as my physical fitness home. One last thought, I considered working out at home, but I'm glad that I did not. I have found the energy, positive atmosphere at DH&F a humongous plus for me! If I could give it a hundred stars, I would. Enjoy your day!

I was here on vacation for the week and bought the week pass here. All I have to say about this place are good things . The gym (for not being as big as most gyms I go to) is set up fantastically. There is every machine you’d need and a great set of dumbbells. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The trainers there stayed busy all day and seemed like they all knew a lot about training. The other cool thing about this place was the amount of current and past body builders that work out here every day. It’s cool to be able to learn from watching the way they work out . The manager (I have a terrible memory but I believe it was Greg?) was the nicest person I met while on this trip and I will definitely come back next time I’m on vacation here .

Great gym. Great staff!Even better now that the daycare is back. Taking off 2 stars for the simple fact since dpure moved in you can’t fill your water bottle at the gym anymore unless your cool with the guy or have a dpure subscription for tap water. I hope you fix this considering the monthly cost of the gym I would think you could spare some water.

This gym is the complete opposite of racist. They have trainers and employees from all races, who are amazing at their job, and the regular customers and tourists alike come from all walks of life!

I was in the gym when these individuals were there and I must say this is erroneous, completely false, and a misleading review. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING racist about the situation or the gym itself. The two individuals that make this claim were upset because they wanted to try and use their day pass from the prior day and not pay for another day pass just to use the shower. Just because “you didn’t use the whole day” doesn’t mean you can come back the next day for a few more hours. You left the day is over, there is no buying an hourly punch card. If you want to use the shower buy another day pass like everyone else does.

Trying to come back to a gym on yesterday’s day pass is like going back to a hotel the day after check out and trying to get another room for a few hours because you checked out at 9:00am instead of 11:00am.

Destin Health and Fitness is the best gym in the Destin area. The staff is always more than friendly and the trainers are very experienced. The gym is very well kept and sanitary. On top of this, Destin Health and fitness has a top class barbershop located inside the gym. Their name is Clark’s barbershop lounge. This place looks much bigger from their info online - I thought it was equivalent to Lifetime Fitness but def not . It's actually kind of cramped but they do have a lot of stuff so that helps. Pretty good gym. Lots of options for free weights and machines. It's a smaller space, but enough equipment so that there doesn't seem to be too much of a wait. The etiquette is pretty good in that people put up their weights and don't seem to sit on machines too long. Most of the cardio machines are up stairs which allows for more equipment on the floor. Two squat racks. Deadlift platform attached to one of them. They probably need one more of these setups, but again space seems limited. That said there seems to be a large deadlift/trap machine in the center of the floor that doesn't seem to get much use. I would say remove that and add another squat rack. Also 15 for a day pass is robbery, but that is pretty typical for today. The staff seem reasonably friendly to visitors which is appreciated.

The reason for the poor rating is one there information on Google is not updated (location and phone number) and secondly it is $60!!! for a WEEK pass. I first hit this gym 5 years ago while on vacation from Illinois. I couldn't believe how nice a gym it was and how clean it was. It had everything I needed for a great workout. I belong to a Golds Gym back home in Peoria Illinois and I'm used to the best of the best. This gym is just as good. We travel to Destin every other year for the family vacation so I have used this gym with other family members several times. I always come back to this gym for my workouts. I've lifted here using a day pass a handful of times while on vacation. I'm a powerlifter and have had issues at past gyms over deadlifting, so I'm always worried there will be issues at a visiting gym. This is really a "commercial gym" done right. I've had no issues from any of the lifts I do, and there's a deadlift platform just for the purpose of deadlifting, along with bumper plates. The only complaint and reason for a 4- instead of 5-star review is that for its size, the gym could use more squat racks and perhaps one more place besides the platform for deadlifts. Even at non-peak times when I was there, I sometimes had to wait to get one of the racks or the platform. Overall, though, a really well-designed gym that will accommodate most any exercise program.

Absolute worst customer service in town. My wife and I just moved to Destin this summer and she joined for 3 months to try out the gym.We are an army family and are used to rough treatment at a gym, but this place is the worst. My wife was treated poorly every time she worked out. The first incident occurred when my wife was working out near closing time. She was on a treadmill and the worker turned off the fan on her and the TV she was running on 1 hour and 10 minutes before the scheduled closing time. After she went to leave, she asked the worker why the place was closing early, and he just opened the door and told her to leave. Extremely rude. We will did not extend our membership. I even submitted an email detailing this problem to their manager and received no feedback.

Beware! Scam scam! The owner is aware of his billing system and doesn't care that he overcharges his clients- MONTHLY! Billing scam!!! I'd love to give DHF a 5 star but I can't. I am highly disappointed with the way this club handles their billing/monthly membership auto draft. If you plan on getting a monthly membership with auto drafting you need to watch your statements! Several times I've been charged double and the last month of my membership I was billed a total of THREE months. I was promised a refund by the owner and it's been over 45 days-- still no refund! I've called several times and each time the employees can't figure my account out, taking my name and number and leaving a message for the owner. Bad business! I've left another message today and at this point I feel like Vince is running a scam! Isn't this why we have auto draft?! So I don't have to call and check every month?! I give this place a 1 star only because Mark's amazing bootcamps! Other than that go somewhere else that has a decent manager/accountant/billing system.

BEWARE!!!!!

Destin Health and Fitness will steal from you! Since January, this gym has been double charging its patrons, hoping nobody would notice. There are many members who have been overcharged, including myself and the gym has made no efforts to remedy the situation as of yet. When questioned, the staff says to email their billing department and we have received no refund yet. If you attend this gym, make sure to pay CLOSE attention to your bank account!

My wife and I have been members of Destin Health & Fitness since they opened years ago. We have been overcharged multiple times this year, including 4 overcharges in the past 2 days. They seem unconcerned about this situation. This is completely unacceptable and they should be jumping through hoops to apologize and correct their mistakes. We have finally had enough. We cancelled our membership today. Do not trust this gym with your credit card information. Someone needs to press charges for credit card fraud by Destin Health & Fitness.

Absolutely terrible experience overall. Was a member for several years and they constantly had treadmills that didn't function properly, terrible customer service, and childcare services that made my daughter cry. Our last month of membership they charged us 4 times for our monthly dues making our bill over $300 when it should have been $80. I called to get a refund and the manager was completely rude and said "get in line you aren't the only one it happened to!" I was very upset at this response as he then hung up on me. I will be calling the BBB and the fraud department with my bank.

ATTENTION!!! BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN MAKING A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS GYM. THEY TAKE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AND AFTER YOU HAVE ENDED YOUR MEMBERSHIP THEY CONTINUE TO CHARGE YOU. THEY STOLE $200 FROM ME AND AFTER I TRIED TO CONTACT THEM MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT THE CHARGES THEY WOULD NOT RESPOND.

The facilities that Destin Health and Fitness offer are fine. They have a 24 hour facility which is accommodating for anyone's schedule. My complaint is not with the facility but with management and the billing department. When you sign up they take your account information for auto draft payments each month. This is fine and I have several accounts with this type of payment policy, but NEVER have I had a company overcharge and fraudulently take money from my account until dealing with Destin Health and Fitness. I signed up for a 6 month membership. During that time, my account was overcharged 5 times. They did credit the overcharges back to my account, but only when I pointed out the error. After my membership was terminated, they have continued to debit charges from my account. Despite multiple emails and phone calls they have yet to correct the most recent overcharge. In fact, they have failed to respond to my communications in any form since the most recent error. I would strongly discourage anyone from signing with them due to their inappropriate billing process. I am not a person who usually writes complaints but this matter has gotten out of hand. My next step will be to seek legal action if the debits from my account do not cease or my money is not refunded! Buyer Beware!!

Excellent fitness center. Modern, clean, comprehensive and with all new exercise equipment.

I am currently in town on a mini vacation. I wanted to do more than run on the beach so I gave them a ring. Easily one of the nicest facilities I have ever been to. State of the art equipment and a very friendly staff. They also have a very nice locker room. I would recommend this gym to a friend.

I moved here from Vegas so when I tried out Gold's Gym in Ft. Walton and Destin I was pretty disappointed with the atmosphere and facility overall. Destin Health and Fitness is sooo nicely decorated. Beautiful people everywhere here makes you motivated to work out... The classes are awesome too and the instructors are super duper friendly. The staff is awesome.. I love this gym. It's super clean, super trendy, and they have a 24-7 gym that works great for my hectic schedule. If you are from a big city and are looking for a gym with the same qualities.. definetly go here!
