Pros:
* Very clean environment
* Equipment is up-to-date
* Staff is friendly
* The contract is just month-to-month with no string attached, which is appreciated. A lot of big-name gyms will put in secret clauses in your contract to make you pay for certain things like "yearly gym fees" or even canceling your membership, but not this gym
* The locker room and showers are outstanding and very clean.
* There is no "musky stench" here that plagues a lot of other gyms because this one is constantly kept clean by the staff.

Cons:
* This gym is very small. If you work out while a class is underway, you're usually in the way of the class and it makes your workout feel awkward.
* The price is a little high at $50 per month.
* There are no 2.5 lbs plates for the barbell which puzzles me, because they should be the cheapest to supply to your gym. I asked a few times for them and they were never supplied.
* The gym isn't really for someone looking to deadlift because there is no proper place to do them without ruining the wood floor or getting in the way of other members.
* There is no simple straight pull-up bar in the gym, but you can hang from the smith machine bar to do pull-ups if you really want. There is an assisted pull-up machine for those not able to do them on your own, but when you do weighted pull-ups that machine isn't appropriate. There is another machine next to the smith machine that has handles to hold on to for pull ups, but you can't get a straight grip with those handles.
* The gym usually plays very awkward music to work out to, including Christian rock and 80's pop music which isn't what everyone wants to listen to while working out. You have to have some really nice earbuds to block out the music.
* If you like to bench press, you most likely either won't have a spot because it's usually pretty empty (so you can't max out without risking injury) or you'll have to ask one of the staff to spot you which can be frustrating at times since they will usually help people paying extra for personal training before they help you.
* One of the staff argued with me that if you don't get six reps in for an exercise, you aren't building muscle. He claimed he went to school and got a degree in something related to health, so I was surprised he argued something scientifically incorrect. The staff should know their stuff more than that.
* The staff sometimes harps on me for incorrect form on some movements, but has never once offered advice on how to correct it. This often interrupts my workout and leaves me frustrated.

Overall I could see why someone just looking to do assorted cardio exercises and some free weight exercises would really like this place. Unfortunately my goals of building strength with movements like the deadlift, bench press and squat don't really fit here and I had to change gyms. I'd recommend this gym to anyone not lifting heavy though, because the pros outweigh the cons. A clean workout environment is very important.
