Great little gym! The staffed hours are a little weird, but hit them up to get 24/7 access. Not many free weights besides dumbbells, which makes for less meatheads. Lifting room is separated from cardio, you'll need to scan in to get into both rooms separately.

For those reading other comments, there is no parent/child area at the field house.

Itβs a small, no-frills spot that gets busy during peak hours, but there are plenty of showers, toilets, and lockers. The track, outdoor exercise pad, and nature trail are a great bonus.

The actual Field House gym has very limited equipment, but there is plenty of outdoor space for other activities.

Very clean and nice locker rooms and restrooms. It looks and feels brand new. My only complaint is the office is rarely staffed.

Very clean and nicely equipped Fitness Center... Great locker rooms... Nice place to enjoy some solitude during your morning workout. Probably not the ideal spot for heavy liftersππΎββοΈ, but adequate for a quick lift ... Dumbbells ONLY at this facility...ππΎ Close to the gate on John Sims...ππΎ

Locker room is large and nice. Limited cardio equipment so sometimes there is a wait if it is busy. There is a weight room with weight machines. Hand weights are in both the cardio room and the weight room. Overall, it's a very nice facility.

This fitness center has limited equipment and a locker room larger than the workout area. It's appeal is that it's a good area for showering after running on the nearby track or running path.

Locker rooms are always clean. Been going here for 5 years. Plenty of showers and bathrooms and mirrors for everyone to get ready after showering. But there are over 300 lockers I believe and only about 50 of us who are there on a regular and you have to have your things out by 6pm. They should issue lockers to regulars. Half the place goes unused. Still very nice tho.

Consistently closes at random times. Abuses the fact that its servicemembers that attend the gym and not civilians, therefore they have little desire to maintain a high standard of service. If a public gun operated the way eglin gym for, they would be out of business.

Great place to take a quick workout. They have bikes treadmills ellipticals as well as free weights. In a building next door they also have classes like spin class and yoga. Some of the classes require a fee and you can get the fee and the schedule online or at the studio.
Inside the gym building their locker rooms with toilets and showers and changing room s as well as lockers,. Bring your own lock if you want to lock your locker.

Large selection of cardio (stair climbers, treadmills, Jacobs Ladder), free weight/Olympic platforms, and cable machines. Basketball and racketball courts. Clean washrooms and staffed by professional USAF service members. Reasonable hours, with 24/7 access with enabled CAC (see staff to get this turned on). Great workout spot if you're TDY to Eglin AFB, but I would try to avoid the usual lunch time/ end of day hours (1500-1800) as things get a little crowded.

For as big as this base is and how many people, you would think they would have a better gym or more than one dilapidated. You can work out here, but I'd get a gym membership in town over going here. They keep rearranging it to try to make it better. They should make it like Commando gym on hurlburt, that place is amazing and is set up wonderfully. The gym is worth the drive to hurlburt. Eglin gym is good for a lunch workout and that's about it. Forget after work, you can't move.

Nicely remodeled and 24hr. Access that you have to sign up for. Moved equipment around and put in a family area in the back for parents with young children. Also added mirrors in weight room. Will post pics too.

Went for the pool. Great size offers classes and lap swim times. However regular open swim does not allow pool noodles(even though they have them), board floats(unless u r lap swimming), or any regular pool floats. Also food and drinks are not allowed at all. Do they expect people to stay there enjoying themselves without anything to eat or drink. Not very smart to me. Also they could do with some music. They do have lifeguards and they do have a diving board.

Older, but still a good gym... you aren't there for the ambiance. Put mirrors back up in the weight room which is a big plus. 24 hr. access is awesome. Would be nice if they added a room for parents with kids though.

The gym is ok. Ample parking but facility itself is one of the oldest base gyms I've been to. Similar to Hurlburt except Hurlburt has great outdoor amenities associated with the gym. I didn't visit the facilities north of the main gym so I cannot comment on that. No kid classes or programs here and personal trainers are slightly more expensive here than Hurlburt. Has an outdoor pool.
