I’ve been a loyal member of both Rock Fitness and Elite since they opened. Each year, I place my membership on a 4-month freeze and have never encountered any issues—until now.

Recently, I returned to the area for just two days and planned to work out once. When I arrived, the front desk staff asked me to scan in. I specifically asked whether doing so would unfreeze my account or trigger a charge. I was assured—multiple times, including on my way out—that my credit card would not be charged and my membership would remain frozen.

Less than five hours later, my CC was charged $64.

I returned the next day to request a refund, but my request was denied. The staff dismissed what I had been told and insisted that scanning in automatically removed the freeze, resulting in a full monthly charge—for a single workout.

Having served on the executive team of a major fitness chain, I’m unfortunately very familiar with the tactics sometimes used around billing, cancellations, and membership policies. I had genuinely hoped that a locally owned and operated gym would take a more customer-centered approach.

It’s a shame—up until this incident, I would have gladly rated this fitness center five stars. And having visited countless gyms across the country, I know what five-star service looks like—and what it doesn’t.

For a year and a half, my review was a 5-star. The space was more than adequate; my trainer, Von, was excellent. But things recently changed. The. AC broke for weeks... not even sure if it's fixed yet. The grade was reduced for one reason, and the manager's name is Joanne, the gyms manager. Mistakes happen. My book of sessions, which I had paid for at a heavily discounted rate, ran out. No one mentioned it to me, and my last session was not included in the deal. They just billed me $80 for a 30-minute session that I had been paying $25 for. Mistakes happen. I requested a call from Joanne for two weeks to resolve, and was ignored. I finally went there and confronted her about why she hadn't called me to resolve the issue. She took no ownership or responsibility for not returning a client's call, despite being fully aware of its purpose. She explained that it is the trainer who sets the rate. If true, why do they have published rates? Either way, if she were the least bit professional, she would have called, and I would have resolved it positively. I was willing to give Von $50 for the 30 minutes.... he was a peach for taking over my discounted sessions for another trainer who was fed up and left. So disappointed in a gym I have loved, so many people I am friends with and have sent there from my building. I spent $1,000's of dollars in training there. Alonzo is the owner, ex-BB player, and a great guy.... You, sir, are not represented well and have lost a great advocate of your gym. Find a manager who give a darn and you will see your business grow and grow.

Justin G. is fantastic trainer. In just 2 months I could see remarkable results in my mobility, balance and muscle strength. He is encouraging, patient and very knowledgeable. He pushes me a little harder each session watching closely to observe how I adapt to all of the changes. Justin is genuinely concerned for my wellness and comfort and he puts a positive spin on everything.. I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

My husband and I joined Elite Fitness for the two months we spent in Palm Beach Shores. The staff and owner were extremely friendly. The gym is very well equipped and clean. I have mobility issues due to MS. Joanna recommended Anthony Foley to be my trainer. Excellent! He understood my capabilities and motivated me to work hard to build my strength and stamina. Anthony also trained my husband. He was very happy with his results and continues using Anthony's work out program. This was the second year we joined and plan to join again next February.

An outstanding and impressive fitness center. I’ve been to many fitness centers and Elite Island Fitness is among the very best. The manager, Joanna, runs an excellent operation as the staff are top notch, all the equipment is second to none, and the training programs, locker & steam rooms are exceptional. The sanitizing and cleanliness of the facility is impeccable. Besides Joanna, a special shout out to Sarah R. who is an excellent yoga instructor offering 7 classes a week. Anyone looking for a top notch fitness center should be very happy to choose Elite Island Fitness

My experience with Elite Island Gym on Singer Island has been nothing but very relaxing
The staff are nothing but, polite, pleasant, accommodating and will do their very best to answer any of your questions and help you with any situation that may arise.
A very professional place to workout in. All the equipment is by far the very best.
The place is super clean and that includes the locker room, showers and washrooms. Everything in the gym has been kept spotless.
My favourite place to workout. It isn’t overcrowded.
Close to walking distance on the Island.
If you want a Gym that has a clean, airy and bright atmosphere and is good for your health, Elite Gym is the Gym for you!

In the area for a few days from NYC and decided to get a workout at Elite Island Fitness. My guest pass was processed quickly, without a hitch. The gym is clean, equipped with more than anything the most discerning gym rat would need, with an extraordinary beach view. The best part was the service provided by Noah, who checked me in, made me feel incredibly welcome, and answered every question with professionalism and grace. He also went out of his way to provide me a protein shake, which I tested and throughly enjoyed. Grade-A service (Thanks, Noah!), top-notch equipment/amenities, within a stunning backdrop. I couldn’t conceivably ask for more. I wish I could transport this place up north. Thank you, Elite Island Fitness!

When I signed up as a member, I was assured that I would have unlimited access to classes, which I had clearly stated was my primary purpose for joining. Not even a week later, I received notice that starting the next month, classes would cost $25 per session, with some discounts available for purchasing multiple sessions. I'm very disappointed that I was misled when I was recruited to join. Surely the owner, who was present when I paid for membership, was aware that their policy was about to change, and she and the reception desk person, David, did not disclose this to me when I specifically inquired as to access to and cost of classes. I returned in person with a signed letter of cancellation as soon as I received notice as to the cost of classes, and was promised a refund in an email by the facility owner, but the refund has still not been processed 5 days after it was promised.

Responding to the owner's reply to my post: sorry, but a deliberate omission is a lie. Me on Dec 1 2024: "so the membership includes all the classes?" Owner: "Yes." Then less than a week later, I was notified in an email that classes would cost $25 per session. While discounts were being offered for multiple sessions and there were other ways to reduce the cost per class, they were certainly not going to be included in the membership, as I had been told. It was definitely a deliberate omission not to let me know on Dec 1 that the policy concerning the inclusion of classes in the membership fee was going to change starting in January 2025. No business owner would fail to know that they would be changing their policy within a week.

It’s a shame because it’s in walking distance to a lot of high-end properties on Singer Island, but it was never clean. The men’s locker room was way too hot. The gym was way too hot. They kept moving around the equipment clearly by someone that doesn’t actually use a gym. The gym was never clean the walk up to the gym was always littered with trash. There is a lot more to add but you should get the point.

When I first reviewed this gym, it was named Rock Fitness. It was awesome.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t make a go of it financially. The current owner is apparently targeting as their clients young black males. I say that because they BLAST rap music. They certainly don’t appear to be targeting the residents of Singer Island, who are in a much older demographic and probably less inclined to play rap.

Most people are listening to whatever they like using their phone. But the gym music is so loud, it overwhelms my noise canceling ear buds.

The equipment is still top notch. But I’m not certain I will continue my membership there. Maybe, if they read this, they might turn the volume down.

First off, I believe that excellence always starts at the top, so if it’s shaky in the “bottom” it’s shaky at the top, also excellence has a short shelf life, just because we maybe excellent today doesn’t mean we’ll be excellent tomorrow, cliche but true that it takes years to build an Integris reputation and be destroyed in seconds.

I had an issue with the wet sauna and in receiving a refund for my poor experience, and after very public display of my frustration, they were quick in resolving my issue for which I am grateful…💯

I have a new Condo at Amrit Residence, the gym in the residence is worse then anything I have ever seen before. I had to find a place that I could actually work out at. I found that at Elite Island Fitness. The staff is friendly and happy to see you. The equipment is always clean. The locker rooms at well maintained and they always have towels available to you. Great place to get a great workout. I highly recommend this place.

I joined this gym for 5 weeks while on vacation and I have to say it helped to make my time away from home a great experience. I found both the staff and members to be friendly, inviting and knowledgeable. Noah at the front desk was always helpful . Loved Von’s HIT classes - not only fun and a great workout but he takes the time to correct form. Sarah’s Yoga classes were amazing and reminded me of the importance of keeping up my flexibility. Aaron’s Pilates and Rosalyn’s Barre/core classes kept my core strong. Rosalind’s Sculpt & Flow class helped build up the rest of me. I used the treadmills and ellipticals and always found them to be in good working order and the gym was always clean. I returned home stronger and fitter than when I arrived! I’m already looking forward to returning next winter!

Over a month now and only leg extension they have is still broken.
I have a bad knee that requires the use of the leg extension machine and now I have had to do legs presses and my sciatica is now back as well as my knee is hurting. Of course they are still charging me and don’t seem to care at all when I ask 4 times a week when it is going to be fixed. I could have had a new cable weeks ago but these lame people can’t seem to get it done. I know if Rock was still here he would have had it fixed long ago.
I don’t want to learn any new exercises I want the leg extension machine I need to work. That’s All

Terrible customer service. do not sign up with them. We actually never signed up with them. We are from Indiana, my son was there to play college baseball this summer and only wanted to come for June and July! Paid monthly. they've been taking out a monthly payment since then! And then charged us for a sign up fee in October when we haven't even signed up. Now manager will not call me back, will not reimburse my $300 plus dollars. Have been trying for over a month to get someone to return my phone calls, getting the complete run around.. Terrible. terrible business practice. Owned by NBA player Alonzo Gee. It's sad that he's okay with running his business this way. Would never recommend this place to anyone. There are a ton of really nice workout places nearby where they actually care about their clientele. it absolutely amazes me that no manager is ever there. They work with weights where things can happen all the time. You're telling me no one of authority is there in case a situation happens. Not a very honest place. Would give this place zero stars if it allowed me to.

I’ve been using a one day pass every Thanksgiving since I haven’t lived in Florida for a few years now. Every time, I’m greeted by Lester, who brings a smile to my face every time. It’s a great gym that would fit many experience levels. It has dumbbells for beginners and advanced lifters with more than enough machines to satisfy most gym-goers.

Nothing is by chance, I stumble across ROCK FITNESS after going to LA Fitness at 5am and they were not clean.

1st visit at 5am Rock Fitness you definitely "ROCK," gym is emacilate and so have it 6mo later it's been consistently the same. I can't say enough about Raziel "Raz" this young man is one to look forward to at 5am, his spirit is so pleasant and inviting every morning he delivers. The people that train there are so pleasant, such positive vibes. The Owner is really passionate about serving people and it definitely shows in this training house. honestly this was a good gym in terms of equipment but last year on July 5th 2021, not only did one of the trainers (Justin) admit to looking my name up in the system to find my social media and my work to message me “because he thought i was cute”,
when bringing it up to the owner Jason, he proceeded to say well did i flirt with him, what exactly did he do wrong and also the fact that “there was no way he could’ve gotten my name from the system” when the trainer admitted it himself to doing so.
this was an extreme breach of privacy not to mention a safety risk, and he tried to send inappropriate messages all while also having a fiancé.
He was never fired, and I immediately left and felt extremely unsafe as a woman in this establishment.

Best gym around! Equipment is mint, CLEAN, and staff knows what their doing. Trainers help out, and are very friendly. Finally a real gym, not a pizza and tootsie roll gym… but even as an intermediate/novice, I have been made to feel welcomed and have learned and grown a lot here. This is easily the best gym I have ever joined. It’s spotless, regularly cleaned (like talking during my hour there I watch staff wipe down the machines at least once), quality equipment with a superb variety of machines, and is never too crowded. You also get a free protein shake, water, or energy drink when you’re there. My boyfriend and I only left because we were moving and there is no way our next gym will be able to compare, especially at the price.

I have been a member of a number of gyms though the years but Rock Fitness in Singer Island completely stands apart.
I am very fortunate that I work with an amazing personal Trainer. Justin Gutierre is incredible, he is tough but listens, pushes me and makes me want to push myself for the best results. I have never had the results in such a short time that I have working with Justin, my friends are amazed at my results, within 1 month I started to see the start of a 2 pack, and at 4 months I have a real 4 pack. Justin patience and tutiledge ensures I have the correct stance, posture and form to make sure I receive the best results without fear of injury. I love my results, thanks to Justin.
My day always begins at Rock Fitness at being welcomed every early morning by Mikarra, she makes everyone feel welcome, assists you with anything you might need, and her friendly positive personality makes every day bright.
The gym's cleansingess and strinct protocals especially in these troubling times gives you a feeling of confidence that you are safe & protected while working out. The members are friendly and respectfull. Jason is an amazing owner, always there to oversee everything and give an encouraging word. This is the best gym I have ever belonged to.

Best gym ever! Brand new everything, friendly staff, a lot of gym etiquette, always parking, no hassle. Justin is best personal trainer there is in rock fitness, definitely recommend him and front desk staff like Mikarra are amazing! Love this gym ♥️♥️♥️

Poor value for visiting lifters. No flexibility in solutions for those on vacation. Recommend finding a gym in the area with better customer service.

Great gym with brand new equipment and a fantastic staff and owner. Christine & Lester at the front desk make the initial (and continuing...) experience for members very welcoming, and I always enjoy conversations with them - good people!

What a great gym, long overdue in our area! Clean, airy and beautiful, and new machines! The friendliest staff and trainers available are always encouraging and engaging. Definitely recommend a membership here!

This Gym is awesome! All brand new equipment, steam room, towels, many amenities. But that's not the real reason I love this gym. It's the people who work there, the desk people, the trainers, and Rock, the Owner . Everyone is so down to earth and make you feel comfortable and support your needs, and accept you at whatever physical level you are at. Positive vibes abound. And the people who work out are the same type people. No gym snobs here, all types of people, massive equipment, classes and Boxing!! I love it!! Thank you Rock for making me comfortable and helping me see I could do this!!

My wife and I joined almost 3 months ago, and it has been a great experience. We both signed up for personal training and it is top notch. My wife gets trained by Jason who is a body builder and I train with Matty who has trained professional boxers. The staff is friendly and attentive. They give us complimentary bottles of water and protein drinks whenever we ask. Very reasonably priced for all that they offer. The owner of Rock Fitness, “Rock” is there every day greeting people and is an awesome human being that you got to meet! Well worth checking out.

I've been to a lot of the WPB area gyms over the past 20 years and Rock Fitness Singer Island is by far the best. BEST facility, BEST staff and gym etiquette rules among the members. YOU WON'T GET THAT AT L.A. FITNESS where no one puts their weights away and people leave personal items on equipment to "reserve" it as the do something on the other side of the gym. Do yourself a favor and go Rock Fitness... Unless you want to leave dumbbells and weight plates at random places around the gym. In that case PLEASE stay at L.A. Fitness. Thank you in advance.

Awesome place to workout! Owner truly cares about the gym and goes out of his way to make sure his clients are happy. Mikarra at the front desk is awesome and always has a great attitude. Highly recommend Rock Fitness on Singer Island!
