I was walking through the mall for the first time and had no idea there was even an Equinox inside. Since I have an American Express offer with Equinox, I thought I’d stop by on my way out just to take a quick look at the gym layout. When I asked the front desk if I could take a quick peek—just to see if I’d even want to come back for a tour or day pass—the staff member responded in a rude and condescending tone with a flat “no.” He didn’t bother to offer alternatives, like scheduling a tour or explaining how I could check the club out in the future. For a brand that prides itself on luxury and hospitality, the interaction was unnecessarily dismissive and left a very poor impression.

I've been going to this gym since they opened over 15 years ago, apart from some equipment being updated there it has been no upgrades over the years. Stuck in time actually. Not even proper water fountain to refill bottles, etc.. In a weather like Florida as steam room is more than redundant, it should be a dry sauna to get better benefits. (Also is often broken and not properly calibrated)
It is sad but soon I will end my membership. I am excited that Anatomy is coming to Aventura. All the staff at Equinox is really nice and professional I must say.

Equinox Aventura has the look — clean design, nice lighting, all the expected amenities. But for the price? It’s just not worth it. I’ve worked out in five-star hotel gyms that had more to offer, both in atmosphere and service.

I looked the part, paid the premium, and still felt like an afterthought. This place is more about appearances than experience. I canceled my membership — and I’m not looking back.

I was very disappointed with Equinox. I thought they were a premiere organisation. I signed up and after 3 visits I cancelled my membership. The teachers were bullying me. They actually teamed up against me. I have never experienced this from such a premiere community. They were not professional and I was and still am very disappointed. The manager was not any help. One of the best gyms I’ve been to! The facilities are spotlessly clean—staff are constantly maintaining the machines, locker rooms, and studios. The amenities are top-notch with large areas for cardio and resistance training, in addition to specialized studio spaces for class. The class selection is outstanding, offering diverse workouts for all levels, all based on the latest best practices in fitness. not worth the price given the size of the gym and limited supply of equipment. classes run in the morning cardio area which the trainer will kick you off the treadmill. people think this location is a fashion show and are literally there for the hype.. this is the worst equinox location ever built with REALLY dumb people at front desk. Great Gym, especially if you work nearby. Always clean, the members are all very polite and all the trainers are always walking around offering free form and technique advice as well as motivation. I signed up for a package of 6-one hour class training sessions which really changed the entire way I work out and increased my confidence across many of the gym's equipment. To this day my trainer (Petr) follows up to see how I'm progressing. He always offers to continue my training but is never pushy and actually comes from a place of value. I would totally recommend.

I’ve never experienced such unprofessionalism and poor customer service as I have with Equinox Aventura. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for over two months, and despite being told numerous times that someone would call me back, I’ve received absolutely no follow-up.

The front desk staff is rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. They don’t know basic information about the gym, like staff schedules or who customers can speak to for assistance. To make matters worse, they even gave me a fake email address for the manager, which is beyond unacceptable.

I relocated, and my contract clearly states that relocation allows for membership cancellation. However, this gym has continued to charge me for two extra months, blatantly ignoring their own policies.

Avoid this gym at all costs if you value your time and money. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and shady practices make it one of the worst businesses I’ve ever dealt with. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone.

Coming from Cali Equinox, this place has practically no amenities. You have to bring your own lock for the locker room, their locks are not automated. Sort of like a crunch fitnes or 24 hour express…. You would think for Equinox standard and pricing that shouldn’t even be a topic of conversation!! I’m surprised they haven’t made the locks automated by now with all the horrible reviews! Do they not read these reviews?! In the locker area, there’s just a steam room… no sauna, jacuzzi or pool! Why would you pay all that money to bring your own lock and have zero amenities? Doesn’t make any sense… you must as well sign up for a cheaper gym and you’ll have more amenities than here.

Came to this equinox on vacation, Met with one of the salespeople who was extremely knowledgeable about the facility and its locations around the US. After he informed me of the membership options and helped me to understand that there were no equinox locations near me, allowed me to join his personal guestlist just so I could still experience the fitness center. The facilities are extremely well maintained and the atmosphere was incredible! Thanks to the awesome staff here for being so welcoming and supportive!

I had the pleasure of working with Jade as my coach and I love my experience! She was flexible when scheduling and made sure to understand exactly what my goals were and tailored each work out accordingly. I went in on a weds to try out one of the classes with my cousin . We did the 11:30 class, I walked out of the studio and accidentally left my Fannie pack on the floor went to the restroom and within approx. 4 mins realized I had forgotten the bag and walked back quickly to obtain my bag realizing it had been moved when I walked out the trainer was on his way back from the front desk and stated he just left it there . I quickly walked to the guy and he was just putting it back under the front desk but still had it in his hands. I didn’t think to look in the bag at the moment being that it all happened so quickly and would have never thought anyone looked in my bag and stole about $180 cash I had rolled up with my credit cards in a rubber band. I realized about an hr. Later and called in the incident. Today Friday Delia the manager called me back and said that they reviewed the camera footage and that there is no evidence of money being taken out. But she did confirm that the kid at the front desk went into my bag to identify.and that there was nothing further action for them to take… that if I wanted to I could call the police and make a report. This is ridiculous and why would anyone look in my bag in the first place without my presence it’s obvious that the money was taken out. Unfortunately I had it at easy access but never would have thought that I would encounter such situation at this place. I’m just disgusted with the way this was handled not even about the money because apparently the guy who blatantly stole it needed it more than I do. I’m so disappointed ! Be careful with your belongings around staff!

Had a great Pilates and MetCon class here the other day. I share the same sentiment about others about cleanliness and customer service in general. There was a particular incident with the studio dance instructor that left me baffled. 😯

Midway through my first studio dance class here I was getting frustrated at myself for not getting the moves and feeling disappointed when I didn’t hear a Latin song 💃🏻 (would have definitely boosted my confidence). So at this point I’m thinking, should I wait it out or go? I decide to ask “When is the salsa, merengue..any of the Latin styles coming?” and the instructor said “Stop, I really hate that”. Granted, I was pausing a lot during class, but I was standing in the back and it shouldn’t have affected him so much.

I had asked another gym member in between songs but she just smiled awkwardly and either didn’t hear/understand me or just didn’t want to engage. 🤷🏻‍♀️ and that’s when I decide to clarify. I also mistakenly thought the class was called Latin dance but it’s a more of a general Studio Dance 🪩

He was so upset, he sat on the floor, like a child at Christmas time without his toy. Closes his eyes in “mediation” like I had pulled some last string. So I get closer, try to even out the distance between us to really listen to what he’s going to say.

He goes off in a rant about how he can’t please everybody. Well duh. But if you can’t throw in a song to appease a new member, make them feel better and more comfortable for taking a new class then I don’t want to be in your inflexible class anyway.✌️

The only feedback is to just answer the damn question so I can make my decision.
Possible solutions:
A. ❤️Yes, there’s one closer to the end of the playlist, you’ll love it! :insert genuine smile: 😀
B. 💙No not today but I’m working on adding some in the near future.
C. 💜No, sorry, I don’t include any in this class.
D. 💛Let’s talk after class? Instructor politely introduces himself and wins over a new member.

But don’t sit there and act like it’s the end of the world bc a student didn’t connect with your class. Calling them out in front of everybody like that is just pathetic. I hope he was just having a bad morning cus he entered the space with a bit of agitation.

I got up, left the room quietly, no door slamming no venting to the manager, no one-star review on Google. Just an honest detail of my experience for anyone looking for something similar. In fairness, he seems like a talented dancer and his warm up was pretty cool. Just wish he had better emotional intelligence and conflict management skills.

Overall I’m glad I clarified when I did. I left early and made it to a go-to dance class I have nearby and even got to squeeze in a light meal with my hubby. 🤞🤞

In conclusion, the gym is lovely: I love the steam room, the towels, and the variety in classes. I do feel like the gym could squeeze in more diverse classes to appeal to the community and be more inclusive, but overall it’s a decent gym. The receptionists have all been very sweet and the guy at the cafe gave me some good recommendations for a protein snack and had a very chill and calm demeanor. The Pilates instructor smiled at me after class and was empathetic when I explained my joints were stiff but that I enjoyed her class.

I had a great rest of my Saturday and look forward to trying different classes. Don’t let anybody take away your shine ✨

2 months ago I re-enrolled in Equinox Adventure after a few years. I registered by phone since they already had all my information. After 4 days I went to use Steam for the first time and to my surprise, it had not worked for several months. Nobody told me that, I'm asthmatic and I just wanted to use steam. After asking there and hearing different versions about their arrangement, lying horribly, I asked them to cancel my membership and return my money. They ignored me, I called and called and they kept lying to me and ignoring my cancellation request. 10 days after my registration they charge me +200 dollars for the following month. I sent emails requesting cancellation and refund of the money and they made the decision to freeze my account! I DIDN'T ASK FOR THAT! I REQUESTED CANCELLATION! They continue to ignore giving me my money back and without canceling my membership. Horrible attention, horrible desperation of taking money from people even without providing the spa service for which I paid. THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION.....Horrible.
I had to call my bank to block the debits because they would continue taking my money and ignoring my cancellation emails.
I lost almost 400 dollars in 10 days!

I was visiting from out of town to attend a wedding and booked a massage as a Mother’s Day treat. Probably the best massage I ever had! I did the 110 minute bodywork massage with aromatherapy and it was exactly what I needed. I would highly recommend booking the massage therapist, Arnold, he was a 10/10! loved that he incorporated stretches into the massage! If you workout a lot or have young kids you're always picking up, this is perfect way to release tension and soreness in your body. Gym looked beautiful and staff were friendly.

I am writing this review from the hospital where I find myself.

Firstly, I never wanted to leave a negative review.
When I joined the gym, Alex assured me and Siya, the manager, that they understood I was an oncology patient.

I clearly explained my health situation from the beginning.
I stressed that my health was fragile due to cancer, which is unpredictable.
I also mentioned that my daughter was my caregiver, and they promised to cancel her membership if my health worsened. Unfortunately, this happened even before we could make it to the gym.

I paid the a month hoping for improvement, but that did not occur.

My daughter sent numerous messages to Alex to cancel the plan, but she was ignored. She even got a second letter from the oncologist to cancel the plan immediately, but she was ignored once again.

I am deeply disappointed to find out that the person who sold us the memberships, assuring us not to worry about my illness, is now ignoring my daughter and the whole situation. I will attach screenshots showing promises to cancel the membership and one of the letters from my oncologist.

If you are reading this, please look at other reviews from people who faced similar challenges canceling their memberships.

Even with solid documentation, they refuse to cancel your plan.

I have been a member of Equinox Aventura for more than a year now. It is my safe and happy spot. It is nearby my home am a big fan of the classes, all the teachers are absolutely knowledgeable and amazing!
Since Alex, the previous manager, is no longer in this location, several changes have happened. Now Luis is the new manager, he is beyond professional and super attentive to all the members needs and suggestions.
My husband and I asked him if he could add more strength classes and so he immediately did. Since we work out 4 times per week at least, we have a complete circuit of classes now.
Going to this gym is one of my therapies, to finish work and go to Equinox, exercise and to enjoy a nice bath and the steam room is one of my favorite moments of the day. Thanks to all the staff of Equinox Aventura! Highly recommended.

Equinox gym in Aventura is truly exceptional. The facility is spotless and well-maintained, providing a great workout environment. Enrolling in classes is seamless, and the variety is impressive. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help.

I had the pleasure of trying the Pilates classes, and Lina, the instructor, was fantastic. She's knowledgeable and approachable, guiding me through the exercises step by step. The overall experience was amazing. I highly recommend Equinox gym in Aventura, especially the Pilates classes with Lina.

The general manager Siya Morgan charged me over $1000 in fees and never froze my account or stopped charging me months after I moved in May 2022. I had spent countless time with corporate fighting for my hard earned money back. This is why the gym is terribly ran and doesn’t do well esp for EQX - the management here needs to be fired for cause.

Back in July 2022, I canceled my membership due to an unpleasant situation at Equinox Aventura. I stopped at Equinox Aventura to show the gym to my 9-year-old son after picking him up at school and going to the mall for shopping. I checked in at the front desk with a live attendant who did NOT mention that kids could not go inside the gym. While my son and I were walking into the Equinox at Aventura, I heard someone screaming at us from the inside area of the gym….. She was NOT wearing any Equinox branding clothes or had any credentials that could identity her to be a employee at Equinox, plus she was working out, so I did NOT know who she was! I am not used to strangers to approach to me like it.
I was scared, and my son was as well because of the way that lady ( General Manager ( lol)/ Siya Morgan), approached us to say that kids could not come inside the gym. My son was even more scared when she approached us closer ( almost touching me) to ask us to leave. I was in total shock that she was treating the clients like this, especially in front of a kid. I canceled my membership after that. I hope never to encounter a human like this anymore! I have never received a call to say sorry for what happened. I sent a feedback on the form that they sent out after my cancelation back in 2022. They never seems to care! They never contacted me to ask what has happened. Now they replied to this review ( I edited this part after they reply) to show you who is reading this that they care about the customers. Remember the suppose to be Manager treated a customer like that in front of a child, now imagine what she does to other customers who are alone. I am guessing this woman has a lot of mental problems as well doesnt have kids.

I visited this club before while I was on vacation. I had 3 days of guest pass. My home club is equinox in great neck. Both great neck and Aventura equinox is very dirty honestly. Aventura one is worse (looks like planet fitness). The management team and their staff are very rude. They don’t respect the clients opinion at all. I’m giving it one star as they don’t help with cancelation or freezing and they lock people into 1 year contract. It takes a lawyer to cancel them out ! Just because I want to sign myself up for lifetime fitness instead of them asap.

What the F* happened to this place?

- From Technogym machines to Life Fitness cheap average machines
- Out of order equipment
- Personal trainers look like they need personal trainers
- Poor limited classes
- 12 month commitments, we are in 2022 not 2009 anymore

For $186/month with Planet Fitness machines, tells me poor management making poor decisions.

Does not compare to NY Equinox gyms.

This is a great location. It hasn’t been remodeled yet to reflect the newer Equinox standard but the place is very clean and fresh smelling in both the gym and locker room areas. The parking and access here are very quick and easy. I like this location for early morning cardio mostly.

I absolutely love this gym! It’s very clean and has all of the machines I normally use plus some I’ve never used before coming here. They also have a variety of classes throughout the week that’s included in the monthly membership.

What I love most is how nice the staff is there. Most gyms aren’t very friendly and it’s rare to see a GM around at other gyms. But I always see Siya, the GM at this location, when I go. She always says hi and really makes the members feel welcomed. I definitely recommend joining!

Gym is not up to date. Most of the equipment is dated and the gym hours of operation are extremely weird. During the week they used to close at 11, now they close at 9 and weekends they don't even stay open past 6, which is insane to me since all other equinox gyms I've been to in prior years stay open until late in the evening. Very disappointed since the gym membership is exactly the same as for higher value equinox gyms.

I've been a member of Equinox since 2018 and have only been to clubs in California. Came to South Beach for vacation and decided to visit the Aventura location rather than the South Beach cause I figured parking would be easier.

It's weird to me that the club is in a mall. It was confusing trying to figure out what mall entrance to use to get to it. Ended up having to use the mall directory to find it.

Front desk staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I'm giving it three stars because I was underwhelmed by this location. The front desk staff did mention it was over 10 years old. Equipment was all fine, but I noticed they didn't have an AMT (adaptive motion trainer). I liked all the TVs, but the workout area felt small and cramped compared to other locations I've been to.

The lockers don't have built in locks, which is something I'm accustomed to at my home club. Other than that the locker room was nice and spacious.

Overall I was able to get a good quick workout in and then hit the shower. But if in Miami area again I wouldn't come back to this location. Having to bring my own lock is enough of a deal breaker for me. I figured something like that would be standard for all Equinox clubs.

Hello, I’m sorry, but this gym deserves a 5 star. This is a gym it’s not social time people!!!! This gym is super clean and machines are well kept and on top of that new. The staff, especially front desk, are super nice, attentive and cordial individuals. I see from afar how the trainers train their clients very well, and they are passionate about it even at 5am!! The bathroom, OMG, I saw their staff cleaning the grout between the tiles!!! Where do you see that?!?!? I do feel that I’m paying for what I’m getting which is quintessential service!! The manager is doing a great job! Keep it up! I love the vibe!

A very disappointing location. Had to start coming to this one because we moved. It’s not that clean and up to date. Also it’s only open until 9pm weekdays and 6pm weekends which stinks if you have small kids and can only workout late. Will have to keep going here because of location but don’t really like it.

I joined the gym in April 16th and was encouraged by Jennifer, who told me I have a month to try it out and will have no problem cancelling if I don’t like it. Unlike other gyms they do not give you a free trial period, but charge - $231 for the first month.
I tried it and didn’t like the experience. Instead of waiting the whole month, I requested the cancellation and refund after couple of weeks. I emailed, called and was very clear that I want cancellation and refund. Maria, the manager kept on calling back trying to get me to stay- just froze the membership. I finally was able to get the membership canceled after over a week of back and forth, talking to I think everyone in the club. They do not issue a refund even though it is clearly stated that I had 30 days.
The whole experience is not right. I will have to deal with my bank to get my money back.
There are plenty of gyms in the area that are better , especially for the price tag.

I am a member of Equinox since 2015. My favorite location is in Aventura Mall. Very convenient to train and do some shopping after. Jennifer Burke is an amazing advisor. She will always help with all your questions about your membership. Love the trainers and the great variety of classes. Ditto classes are excellent, there is always a line for his barre classes, so better book it in advance. There is no other gym as Equinox. Equinox helped me to get an amazing results in working out.

There is not one month I don´t regret signing up to Equinox. After I left, every month they charge me and my wife again. I tried calling, emailing, review on facebook. Had to cancel my credit card several times and magically they find a way to charge me again. This month was even worse cause they charged me twice. My balance was over my limit, affects my credit.

Worst equinox I’ve been to by far and complete joke of a high end gym. This is a rip off to all equinox members in that area. I’ve been to different locations throughout the us and Canada, and this was by the Far the worst club. The gym equipment is older and outdated, the staff is no where to be found, and the towels were not clean (found hair in a few of the towels). I usually go to Brickell heights and went here because I was in the area. Last time I ever go here. I would strongly reconsider a new location in this great area. I only gave one star to be nice. Terrible experience.

Nice gym. I have been a member for 4 years. Completely different clientele than all the meathead gyms and cross fit warehouses. The equipment is well maintained and accessible. If you train during peak hours in the morning or early evening, you may have to wait for certain stations. 6-8 pm is extremely busy. So, if you are into circuit training you may want to come in later or before 6. This is where the gym loses points for me. If you are into the number of classes they offer and workout traditionally old school, than anytime is fine.

Made an appointment with Steven on very short notice. First visit to Equinox and was going for a massage on my shoulders which have been bothering me for over a week. Steven began with a brief assessment and I told him about the areas that were in pain. He was very informative throughout the whole process. The massage itself was excellent and very relaxing. After he gave me follow up advice on stretches and exercises I can do to help. I felt a huge difference and was completely surprised at how much of a difference he was able to make in just one session. I would highly recommend Steven to anyone needing therapy and will be repeating again.
