This university and its recreation center are truly disappointing. I could easily list 96 reasons why I despise this institution, but I’ll focus on a few key points here.

The recreation center is abysmally small, and its layout feels chaotic, as if no real thought went into its design. The machines are crammed so closely together that it’s uncomfortable to work out, and the lack of space makes it feel overcrowded even during less busy times. There are only two basketball courts, yet one of them often remains closed, even when the other is full and students request access. The recreation center staff, including Andrew Furnari (if he’s still there), have been unhelpful and dismissive in addressing these concerns.

To make matters worse, this recreation center doesn’t compare to facilities at other schools I’ve attended, including community colleges. It’s astonishing how poorly equipped it is by comparison.

On top of the recreation center’s issues, the overall experience at this university is just as frustrating. From the housing department to the limited access to amenities like the SoVi pool—where certain students banned from housing are excluded—it’s clear that this institution falls short in many areas.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This university, its recreation center, and its housing policies are nothing short of appalling.

I wish I never went to FGCU. I wish I never step foot on this awful campus. I wish I never continued at FGCU. I wish I never graduated here

It’s my sincerest hope the university I’m an alumni of goes bankrupt and all the buildings come crumbling down :)

It’s ridiculous that you have to be enrolled in classes to use the gym over the summer. We pay this school over 12,000 a year and you’re telling me I can’t use the gym over the summer ? When I’m still an active student. Another example of a money hungry organization.

Extremely unclear hours posted on the website. Google hours aren’t even updated. This is ridiculous.

What a nice Rec Center very clean and the staff was very nice

The facility itself is great and the staff are great. Place is amazing, but I have to leave a three star review for the fact that it is CONSTANTLY overcrowded. Now this is not fully the gyms fault, but it limits how efficient I can work out, and when I want to play basketball I have to wait an hour just to get on a team. The parking lot NEVER has any spots and I mean never, leaving me and plenty other students to park on the road and pray we don't receive a ticket from the power hungry campus police. I suspect this is for the fact that they let guests in for 5 dollars. This is a gym for the students. I pay tuition to use this gym and I expect it to be off limits to the general public.

Very well maintained, great equipment, and have never been harassed here by anyone here, this is always my go-to gym even though I’m a commuter student.

My nephew has started to attend this gym and I must say it is phenomenal, everything is so new and high-tech, iPads everywhere, it’s like a fitness Apple Store
