Good luck getting your money back when they charge your credit card or bank account without your consent. When you need to discuss something good luck getting someone to talk to, they say someone will call you back but they don’t. I finally had to go in and they still said someone would call me back. I am still waiting after 2 1/2 months.

I've been going here for over 6 months for the Sauna. Cleanliness has been going down hill quickly. The smell in the morning smells like dirty clothes and today was the last straw that made me cancel my membership. There has been a dirty bandage in there for almost a week, which tells me they don't clean it on a regular basis. For $80/m, that is unacceptable.

Melissa Hersh is an outstanding personal trainer! She listened to my concerns for increased strength and balance, created a regimen that addressed those needs in a practical, yet fun manner. Her fitness knowledge, enthusiasm and positive outlook made each session fun and worthwhile.
I highly recommend Melissa as a personal trainer, she provided a great experience - and results!

Genesis Health Clubs - The Villages Spanish Springs is absolutely incredible. I always make it a point to use this gym whenever I'm in town visiting my parents. The facility is spacious, well-maintained, and packed with everything you need for a great workout.
For those just dropping in, there is a daily fee of $20 (at the time of this writing), which I personally find a bit steep. However, they do offer a week-long pass, which I believe is around $65—though I’d recommend checking for the most up-to-date pricing.
The gym itself is spread across two floors. The second-floor houses most of the treadmills and ellipticals, along with a few strength machines and even some massage tables for post-workout relaxation (not sure how that works). Meanwhile, the main floor is where the real action is—packed with free weights, cable machines, and an extensive selection of strength-training equipment. They also have personal trainers available for those looking for guided workouts or extra motivation.
One of the standout features is the multiple large aerobic rooms that consistently host group fitness classes. Whether you're into high-intensity workouts or more low-impact options, there’s always something going on. Additionally, the protein bar is a nice touch, offering a selection of drinks and snacks to refuel after your session.
My only real gripe is the $20 daily fee. Having been a gym-goer for over 30 years, I find that a bit high for just a few hours of use—especially since most people don’t spend an entire day at the gym. That said, everything else here is top-notch, from the clean and well-stocked locker rooms to the welcoming atmosphere and comfortable lounge areas where members can sit and chat.
Bravo, Genesis Health Clubs—you've done an excellent job!

I can't say enough about how phenomenal the transformation of this gym has been! I’ve been a member since March 2021, back when it was MVP, and while the old location was sufficient for maintaining my fitness routine, the new facility has completely exceeded my expectations.

Over the past year, I wasn't able to visit as often, so I froze my membership, a great option that Genesis offers. When I returned for these past two weeks, I initially planned to cancel my membership due to my limited time in the area. However, after experiencing the incredible new facility, there was no way I could walk away.

The new gym is absolutely stunning. It’s equipped with an impressive range of machines, including brand-new equipment as well as some of my old favorites from the previous location. They have a wide selection of cardio equipment, from treadmills to steppers to ellipticals, ensuring there’s something for everyone’s training preferences. Additionally, there’s a dedicated turf area for functional and performance-based training, which is a great addition for those looking to incorporate dynamic movements into their workouts.

The fitness rooms are spacious, with a wide variety of classes to choose from, and the spa is beautifully designed, offering high-quality services at more than reasonable prices.

One of the first things I noticed was how welcoming and friendly the staff is. There’s a great mix of familiar faces from the old gym and new team members, and every single person made me feel right at home. The environment is not only inviting but also inclusive of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you’re a longtime member or just visiting for a short time, the sense of community is incredible.

Another standout feature is the team of personal trainers. Every trainer I observed was fully engaged and completely in tune with their clients, providing focused, high-quality coaching. It’s clear that they are passionate about helping members reach their goals, which is a huge plus for those looking for personalized guidance.

The gym also features an awesome smoothie bar with a variety of nutritious options, not just sugar-filled blends but genuinely beneficial pre- and post-workout shakes. There’s also a supplement corner stocked with high-quality products, which I truly appreciate as a competitive bodybuilder who is mindful of what I put into my body.

One of the standout experiences for me was the "Cycle on the Square" spin class with Holly. Her energy, enthusiasm, and music choices made the class an absolute blast, it felt like cycling karaoke! The 30 minutes flew by because we were having such a great time, all while getting an amazing cardio workout.

One of the best perks of membership is that all classes are included. Whether you prefer low-impact movement or high-intensity training, there's something for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. If you assume this gym is only for seniors because it’s in The Villages, think again, it’s designed for everyone! Whether you’re a competitive bodybuilder or someone simply looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle, this gym has it all.

If you're considering checking it out, I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!

Genesis Health Club Spanish Springs is an incredible gym that truly has it all! The facility is state-of-the-art, with top-of-the-line equipment, a spacious turf area, TRX setups, and weights for all ages and abilities. Whether you’re into strength training, cardio, or functional fitness, there’s something for everyone.

One of the best parts? The fun group classes outside on the square in the mornings—such an energizing way to start the day! The staff here is absolutely amazing—so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. You feel like part of a community the moment you walk in.

They’re also super flexible with memberships, whether you’re visiting for a week, staying for a month, or living here full-time or part-time. It’s great to have options that fit different lifestyles!

And let’s talk about the smoothie bar—fantastic options to refuel after a workout, and the protein balls are a must-try! Plus, having a sauna on-site is just the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a gym that combines top-notch amenities with a great atmosphere, Genesis Health Club Spanish Springs is the place to be!

Classes that are advertised at The Villigages ARE NOT available according to their posted schedule (i.e. Total Conditioning and R-30. We, of the senior citizen age need to NOT be falsely advertised to.. Also, my husband and I receive benefits from United Health Care from NY, Genesis accepts United Heath Care (Social Sneakers) which is a “Medicare” based - i.e.l COUNTRY WIDE servic but GENSIS will NOT ACCEPT our insurance as it is from NEW YORk. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO MEAND MY HUSBAND. We feel that we are being unjustly being take advantage of due to our age as senior citizens.

Melissa Hersh is an outstanding personal trainer. She tailors her workout sessions for the individual but is completely flexible to accommodate any physical issues the client might have on a given day. Her workouts vary each session in order to provide something new to keep the client interested and motivated. She is always watchful for signs of fatigue and adjusts the exercise accordingly on the spot. From her personal story of training marathon runners, it is clear she can accommodate any fitness level her client has. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to improve their fitness level.

I stopped in to check out the facility and get information about their memberships. But they wouldn't even show me around the place unless I filled out a form providing my name, phone number and full mailing address including street number. They claimed, "It's just a release form for insurance purposes". I told them I don't mine signing the form, which will cover their insurance concerns. But they insisted on my address and phone number.

Their reason they want a phone number and mailing address is so they can call me and mail me offers (marketing). And, they will sell that information to data brokers as well. That's how these large health clubs like Genesis work. It's all about the money for them.

I've visited this kind of place before. After the tour, they stick you to an office where they use high pressure sales techniques to get you to sign an expensive long term contract. If you try to leave, they continue to charge you. If you don't renew, they continue to charge you.

This is not a good place. And these are not good people.

Looks like a fantastic fitness center. I would go regularly but they don't take my Silversneakers because it's not Florida Blue or UnitedHealth. It makes no sense to eliminate a large percentage of that revenue stream over a buck or two difference. This review could possibly be five star

Went into the club to use my free guest pass for the day. The staff member asked me to take a seat in order to call a staff member for assistance. I waited 50 minutes for someone to assist me, and it wasn’t until I got the same staff members attention that he directed me to a table for assistance. I had been contemplating getting a monthly plan however, after 2 bad experiences at this club, I will not be returning. If it wasn’t for the 40 minutes I had already driven to this establishment, I would have left sooner from that seat. Poor customer service, and poor management on their part.

Happy to see the club is under new ownership. Although the facilities could be quite nice, and exercise equipment is good, the old owners allowed a lot of deferred maintenance to pile up, and the fact that they never brought back towels, even after it was understood that towels don't spread Covid, was pretty bush league. I hope to be able to upgrade my rating once the new owners turn things around.

The MVP is a first class fitness facility, Just joined about two months ago and have participated in multiple classes with many different instructors. Some of the classes I've taken include Group power, Group Active, Yoga, Group Fight, and my personal favorite the Torch 30 class. The instructors are fantastic. They are energetic, motivated and obviously genuinely care about providing an environment where all participants can benefit from the exercises regardless of any physical limitations they may have. I already feel stronger, healthier and plan to continue my workouts. Even if you have never been to a fitness facility this is the perfect place for you to get started.

Was there last week very shocking to see this facilities not really following the protocol. First all I was told they aren't required to wear masks. Which is necessary to do so how people at the gym work out i notice. Their breathing ,coughing out of their mouth spreading their germs without masks on. Also again notices some people are not wiping after used of machines. Now all of this causes covid 19. Its sad to see Florida having the highest covid issues due to not following the protocol. If you go to gym please wear your masks and wipe after using the machines. Maybe we can curtail our issues.

I have been a member of this healthclub for 8 years and I can't understand the negative reviews by some former members. MVP is the most friendly and helpful club I've experienced in my life. Everyone, from the trainers to clients, is always willing to help someone, especially one who's not comfortable in this environment . Negativity is only a reflection of how the client feels about themselves. The need to give themselves a chance. BTW, MVP's greatest asset is the quality and consideration shown by their trainers. Donna Cacciatore is one of the top trainers at this club. She is motivating and has completely changed her own body. She is in incredible shape and never demoralizes anyone; she's so inspiring! She deserves praise not negative feedback. If you really want to change your life and heath, MVP is where you should be.

This club really makes you feel good about yourself, from the moment you get in. Everything is perfect, from the staff to the facilities, classes, cleanliness etc. Excellent place. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is they could have a bigger designated area for pre and post workout stretching, which is important. Right now they have very small areas with people doing their machines around you. Other than that, I feel proud of my gym. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

The Spanish Springs area just went thru Hurricane Irma, MVP has been closed. On the website it states that they will reassess on Monday but to check Facebook for updates. Not everyone is on Facebook including myself. I have had to rely on people who are on FB to advise me. I still don't know if they will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 13th. They need to post the update on their website.

I have worked out here several times. The problem with this gym is some not all the patrons. I actually lift which unfortunately is on the third floor. They don't have an actual squat rack, they do have a 1 smith machine but that is different. They also don't have extra Olympic bars to lift with or a platform to lift on. So I do Deadlift work behind the benches using the bar from the decline. Unfortunately, people complain on the first floor that there was too much noise from third floor. Well, when your lifting a decent amount for Deadlift there will be banging between reps when you touch the floor. Especially if it's the third floor instead of first. So in conclusion if you lift heavy avoid this gym like the plague. If you just go there to watch tv like those that complained on the first floor then this is the gym for you.

Tremendous facility. All kinds of machines. Personal training. A great staff. People are friendly and also serious. Fun.

The folks in the facility for the most part are working out. This is not a place for a lot of socialization.

One drawback. The loudmouths in there expressing their political views so EVERYBODY on the third floor without earphones can hear them should be politely told by the staff to tone it down. I really do not care who they voted for and what their politics are.

Empty wagons make the most noise.
