Very clean Crossfit box. The staff and members were very friendly and welcoming. They answered any questions and every question that I had. Ed and Sam are extremely knowledgeable and chock full of wisdom and knowledge to share with me and the group during our all day seminar, I feel better equipped to start a 55 and older class at my CrossFit. Sam checks in with me frequently to see how things are going and answer any questions or needs I have.

Sam and Ed are true professionals and are trailblazers in masters/senior fitness. As a future masters trainer, I spent time at GrandMastersRx to learn more. Their seminar for “Create a Seniors Fitness Program PLUS Moving Seniors Functionally” is superb. Highly recommend for anyone looking to grow their knowledge when it comes to running a successful masters program. Sam and Ed truly care about their athletes, and it shows. Do yourself and your athletes a favor — invest in this course. You won’t regret it.

In June, my gym owner and I traveled to Florida to take Sam and Ed's Grandmasters RX seminar on how to create and effectively run a seniors program in our gym in North Carolina. Sam and Ed are amazing at what they do and complement each other very well with Ed's background in PT and Sam's enthusiasm and knowledge in coaching. The program they put together was very detailed, informative, and hands on with working and seeing how their athletes move in various positions. If you are interested in starting a seniors class or program at your gym, this is the only way to go and they will help you lay the ground work to begin a wonderful program! We hope to go back and visit again soon!

I took the Grandmasters Rx seminar course with Sam and Ed so I could create a seniors program at my gym. They are extremely knowledgeable, hospitable and professional. The course provided the basics to create and effectively manage a seniors program. Ed’s background in physical therapy and Sam’s passion for coaching make the course informative and fun. I would highly recommend anyone interested in senior fitness to reach out to this dynamic duo.

Listen up. Count yourself to have hit the lotto of your life for any and all gym/fitness places. I’m serious. But that’s only if you’re lucky enough to find an opening in any of their classes which are likely full but you never know, you might actually hit the lotto like me and get into a class.
Count yourself lucky and here’s why:
There’s “CrossFit Boxes/Gyms” and then there’s this place. There’s no comparison. I’m not sure if it’s called GRANDMASTERS because Ed and his wife Sam have achieved the highest educational or physical hours/years or “rank” as CrossFit owners…or if the Grandmasters name is simply a reflection of their over 40 years of fitness practice, coaching, and practical nutritional wisdom.
Then there’s this in their name: “RX” it’s right is in their CrossFits gym name. Maybe that RX stands for the fact that you’re getting a prescription for health given by a Grandmaster who literally has a PhD Doctorate in physical therapy! Yeah…that’s right…your training with a guy (Ed) that is a genius in all things Physical and yea he has a doctorate in PT and and by the way is continuing his passion and service as he currently received a grant for his research/data for his work. (There’s even a full size skeleton model in his classroom at the gym.)
I’m about to turn 60 years young this summer and maybe I’m like you or maybe not…but IF you are like me, and…you HAVE tried a gym membership or two (or 3, or 4, or 20)…I’m just here to tell you this is where you will get THE MOST personal attention, personal instruction to achieve your personal best using SAFE proper form so you don’t hurt yourself!
Just hands down the best damn “gym experience” I’ve ever come across in my short lifetime of trying “new ways” to “fix” old problems of my overall physical health. I can’t wait to see you here… if you’re lucky enough to get in to one of their highly affordable classes!
All the best.

Such a fantastic place- The knowledge and passion of Ed and Sam really set them apart from the rest. They understand human functions and anatomy unlike any other trainers I’ve known, they will push you (healthily) while giving immense support. A safe space with infinite growth mentally and physically!

Getting older presents all sorts of challenges- but when working with them team at GrandMasters- getting fit isn’t one of them! Ed, Sam and all of the exceptional trainers make sure that your path to gaining and keeping fitness is supported every step of the way! My husband and I have been going for 6 months now and our quality of life is materially improved due to the gains we have made with this team. Your starting fitness level does not matter- because Sam and Ed (and all the trainers) make sure you have something to do that works for you. I cant speak highly enough of the amazing team at GrandMasters!

I had the very fortunate opportunity to take two classes this week with Sam and Ed, and I can not rate the experience highly enough! I am only sorry that Google only gives me 5 stars to give! The classes were extremely positive, motivating and challenging - all at the same time! They catered for a variety of fitness levels, and went out of their way to make sure that everyone felt included. The classes had people from 40-90 years young...and everyone left smiling. Thanks for such a great experience, Ed and Sam!

If you are getting older and worried about your fitness (can you up off the floor by yourself?), this the place to come for help, for fun and for family. Ed, Sam, and all the certified coaches give new members whatever personal attention is needed to get you stronger and healthier - even if you have medical and physical issues. Our athletes include 60-90-year-olds who have never been fitter or had so much fun. Just stop by and watch any Monday, Wednesday, or Friday morning and then let Ed and Sam explain how they can help you.
