I was done with the big chain gyms, always crowded, bathrooms always dirty, and so much staff turnover. Your gym is what I've been looking for - quiet, hometown service, and clean bathrooms! I feel like I am working out at home. Out of your three locations, the one on Ridgewood Ave. is my favorite - more room to work out. Thank you for the great service you provide - we are all "greater" for it!

EXPENSIVE considering what’s out there.
Repairs take a long time. One ex, People waited about 1/2 the year for new bathroom fix. Couldn’t shower at all in either bathroom. (There’s only 2 with showers, 2 other regular bathrooms).
TERRIBLE ROACH 🪳 INFESTATION.
IT’S been going for over a year now.
I find them all over the place here. In and under equipment. Laying eggs inside the bathrooms (more on right side).
I sacrifice cleanliness due to convenience🫥

Great, no fuss gym. My husband and I have been coming here for about 2 years. It's clean, rarely crowded, and covered by our insurance. I've been to a few gyms in the area, and I like that this one has high ceilings, good equipment (everything we need), is clean, and the people who train here are focused on getting their work in, & that's it. Staff, when we see them, are nice. No sauna, but that's alright. Like I said, no fuss, fluff or frills here. Just a great gym 🏋️‍♂️ 🌟

I have been to all 3 locations. Each one had is great, clean and everyone I have come in contact with is friendly. I am writing this review to highly recommend this gym to all - newbies and veterans alike.

I've been with Greater Fitness off and on for many years now (due to traveling and living in other cities), and very few others have the combination of equipment, environment, and accessibility that Greater does. It's a true gym-gym where you feel intrinsically motivated to work hard. It is clear that the owners have been in the gym business and possess expertise, as the nuances are what make this gym so special. One example of this is opting to use reusable microfiber towels and personal spray bottles available at the front desk to wipe down machines throughout the workout, rather than wasteful sani-wipes. Just return it at the end of the workout and they do the laundry on site.

The equipment is not excessive or redundant, but they have everything necessary for all fitness goals. This includes your standard gym equipment as expected, as well as unique machines such as calf raise variations, resistance sleds, and different barbell shapes to target all muscle groups.

The gym is a true 24 hour gym! All you need is your member card and you can get in at 2am on weekends if you'd like and every single holiday 365 days a year. I was told that as long as a hurricane or something hasn't taken the power out, the card will get you in. And yes, people go to the gym during hurricanes..this is Florida after all..

All I can say is this: if you want GAINS, this is the place to go.

This is my second year , as a member at Greater Fitness. I Love this gym!! I have trained at a few different gyms over the years. I have not felt this comfortable at a gym in a long time. Everyone is very nice. The facility and the machines are very clean. There are strict COVID safety protocols in place. The atmosphere is casual at Greater Fitness. However, it is obvious that the focus at G.F. is on making exercise and health, a life style. I have never had to wait to use machines or equipment. I am a distance runner. I am usually training for different races. I take my training seriously. I have been to gyms, where people are taking up equipment and not using it. Maybe, just standing there and socializing, texting etc . This frustrates me, because my time is limited. I don't mind waiting, if equipment is being used by someone else. However, I do hate waiting , while someone is standing on a machine on their phone etc. There are much more appropriate places to visit with friends.. There is a Very Nice Dunkin' Doughnuts on the same block. lol Seriously.Don't chat for 45 minutes on a Stair Master that is off, with a friend standing on the other one, doing the same thing. ☕🍩lol Also, I love that the majority of members, have very good gym manners and hygiene. Good gym hygiene is a beautiful thing..😺I am hoping,🧼🛁 I do not need to elaborate, on the hygiene thing. lol Wiping down machines after use, common courtesy and respect to other members. This is very much the case at Greater Fitness.I recommend them, highly.🤗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars, for this AWESOME GYM!!

Amazing gym small but perfect for all lifting needs. The staff is well informed and versed in fitness especially Ryan. Younge, but well above all others in personal training. His dedication, resilience, patience and most of all experience gave me the tools and courage I needed to recover from injuries in the Army along with reach my full potential in fitness. His willingness to stick with me in my most stubborn and weakest moments allowed me to grow not just in fitness but in life. Due to his determination to my greater health, I am now able to deadlift, squat, and perform over strenuous exersies without having pain in my lower back along with having the returning pride of a former paratrooper when I look in the mirror. Before the location was moved I loved going to Greater Fitness on Beville in the Publix plaza being that it is 24/7 and my schedule is ever changing. I’ve always spoken highly of this establishment but with the new changes and location it has been an unpleasant experience . Like I’ve stated before I enjoy going to the gym at various times, so being that sometimes I go late nights I have safety concerns with drug addicts and homeless men coming up to me asking for money. Being a young lady this is a big concern for me. Also with the new set up of the gym there is no room to do anything everyone plus the equipment is on top of each other during the busy times. They have locked the area where we go to stretch and do core exercises at 8 PM every night which is an inconvenience with there being no room at all on the open floor. The only positive value I can say this gym still offers is that it’s still open 24/7. Due to these changes I’m contemplating about canceling my membership.

At first I loved this gym but after a good while of going to their new location (which is the closest to my house) I realized it's really terrible. The tipping point was when I was no longer able to use the aerobics room during unmanned hours for vague reasons like "security" and no kind of indication of this ever changing. Also, only have the building appears to be in use. All the machines are in such proximity to each other that you're practically working out on top of each other (not very good for covid times if anyone is concerned about that). I would go to a better location but they're too far for me and there are too many small things that just add up for me and I will be canceling my membership.

It is indeed 24/7 access to multiple locations... the port orange location is a little too small with all the business they get during the day, during nighttime hours it’s not so bad. The Daytona location has much more to offer but isn’t as sanitary. Friendly people and I’m glad there’s no cancellation fee but you do have to wait 30 days to process the cancellation which is a little long if you ask me. Good gym, good equipment, good people.

Just moved up here and decided I wanted to try this gym out. From the pictures it reminded me of my gym in south Florida, so I was excited. Was going to pay for a guest pass. Went today ( Sunday Aug2) No staff on Sunday’s , no one to let me in and I just stood at the door for a few minutes no one helped. Bad business in my opinion.

I made the call to the gym to make a membership,was informed they would be there 8am to 8pm.
Upon arrival the gentleman opened the door saying manager is not here and can’t make a new account.
I asked when could we comeback,his reply .
“He comes in and out but you can go to the main office in Daytona”.
I explained sir i’am really not interested on opening a account in Daytona .
Moral of the story if you have you’re doors open for business have someone that can do business.
I’m less then two miles from this location and shouldn’t have to go to Daytona to open a account.

Great place for working out! Friendly atmosphere and great location! I was able to lift heavy, do boxing training and high intensity training Workouts. Josh was awesome from the very first day and accommodated my month membership then my week membership without a problem. Most gyms don't do that. I’ve been training at Greater Fitness for almost two years now. This place has everything someone who actually wants to train would need. The Golds gym that just opened on ISB is a complete let down. I love Golds Gym but the one on ISB isn’t actually as equipped as Greater Fitness. My only reason for thinking about joining golds is for a suana. Greater Fitness is not expensive and is open 24/7 and holidays. Greater Fitness is not the most fancy gym. If you need a new car smell gym with prissy equipment you probably don’t train too hard to begin with. Staff and Greater Fitness is fantastic. I would recommend this gym to someone who wants to put real work into strength training.

Gnc gave me a “free day pass” but I miss placed it and it is ten dollars just for a day pass ... and I pay that a month to go to the gym so I guess I won’t be making a switch!

Maybe offer a local deal to come try the gym out even 5 dollars would of been better.. but with the reviews about needing updated equipment I won’t be paying ten to come experience the gym to see if I would want to make the switch! I’ll stick with my ten bucks a month and updated equipment for now

I signed up as a snowbird member and when I moved to a different city on the West Coast I was told that the only way I could cancel my membership was I needed to go in and fill out a cancellation form. When I explained that I wasn't in Florida to be able to go in and cancel the membership I was told it would cost me $20 for them to email me a cancellation form. You couldn't pay me enough money to go back to this place. Especially when it takes all of 2 seconds to email a cancellation form this is not how you treat a customer just because they have moved to another city across the state. Unbelievable!!!

This gym does have everything you need. That being said, the equipment needs to be upgraded. Half of the treadmills aren't fully functional (I basically just stopped using them altogether). These people dont make it convrnient for you to cancel your membership by phone or thru their website .You have to physically come in to cancel which is inconvenient for the customer! Meanwhile another $20 has been taken from my debit card and I havent been there nor plan to come back there! I know youre gonna say its your policy to COME IN and cancel well maybe you should change your policy and make it more convenient for your customers to cancel instead of stealing their hard earned money and the beginning of the month. Like i said i will never come back there but you have my 21.29 in your account today to do whatever with it. This is my all time favorite gym to go to. It's a bit small but I've been coming here for years and I love the staff. It's got a limited set of machines because of the gym size but they cover all the major muscle groups. They have good classes and lots of free weights too. They don't have a basketball court or a pool or anything but if you're not looking for that then you should defenitly check this place out!

I've been going to this gym since it was named Amped Fitness. The good part is that I loved the gym and made it my home. But recently it felt like it was slipping, equipment was breaking and staying broken. Hygiene has dropped and I felt like I was outgrowing the place. I still have a lot of love for the place even with it's bad wifi and limited equipment. Great place to start working out especially for the price. Management was pretty solid especially Ashley. The trainers however seemed like they needed to be less judgmental and work on themselves instead. Overall pretty good experience. Thank you Greater Fitness.

Managers have no power to handle billing. You can only cancel in person. Will keep charging you regardless of calling them. Workers are nice but I don't recommend this location. The equipment is old and torn up. The stretch mats are torn to shreds, the seats on the machines are also torn up and the touch screens on the machines that have them don't work well, you have to press the botton 10 times before it does anything. The place offers good deals but for 5 less dollars I can go to planet fitness and I know thier equipment will be clean and well kept. Not very impressed. I signed up less than 24 hours ago and wasn't able to get a refund. The only good thing about this place is free cancellation. But they charge you $50 to sign up so you're practically paying a 'sign up' fee, so its literally no different than paying a $50 buy out fee for planet fitness.

The sales staff and owner are crooks. I was in there to cancel my sons membership, for some reason they could not find it. They used the excuse of a software upgrade. They could not find the membership but they sure do take their money. So , Jeff worked with me to cancel the membership, said that is was completed and that their corporate/back office would cancel the card. WELL I AM STILL GETTING CHARGED AND TALKING TO KEY LARGO AND DAYTONA THE MEMBERSHIP WAS NOT CANCELLED. Pretty sad if I might say. Not only was it not cancelled it caused NSF fees to my account I have attached to bills. SO they said they would not refund them even after I showed proof that their pending transaction caused the fees.
So an employee gives me a customer service number to call, it is a 386 area code, I speak to the lady and she says she has to talk to her boss. I hold the line , she comes back and says that he already spoke to me. This sounds more like a husband/wife team than customer service. Pretty sad way to run a business ,especially when all they are worried about is making money and not admitting to a mistake.

This place is an absolute nightmare. The gym membership seemed reasonable so we signed up. The recruiter, Tony suggested we work with a trainer and we naively agreed. The trainer never remembered when we had sessions and he often called and left messages for his other clients on our phone. The gym equipment was varied but still mediocre standard for what you pay. They openly put down other gyms. While there, our trainer and the guy who recruited us left claiming the gym was shady and bad news. We should have run for the hills at this point but we had a contract. They closed their Port Orange location, which was not only inconvenient but made the Daytona Branch much busier. Their money troubles came to a head when we noted they started taking double payments from our bank account. We were paying $25 for the gym and $260 for the trainer. Needless to say, a second payment of $260 placed was a little more than inconvenient. This was our final month with them because we needed to cut our ties with this horrible establishment. They claimed they would refund it but it would take up to a month. The next month when payments were supposed to cease coming out of our account, they took ANOTHER $260 and still no sign of a refund. The owner claimed he would fix it but has not. The manager was no help at all. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!!

I loved this gym, month to month membership, great atmosphere and every kind of machine you can ask for. Except for recently, they are donating lockers to a local school, that is great! I commend them for being generous to the community, but the only notice they gave to members to remove their stuff was only via a flyer posted on the doors of the gym. Been out of town working for a few weeks, and when I returned today I saw the note so I asked about it and was going to get my stuff out of my locker but turns out they cut the lock I had on my locker without any notice, they threw out everything apparently except for my towels. I had small items, nothing expensive but still. I would have appreciated a email or a phone call letting me know " Hey we are donating these lockers to a local school and we'd appreciate it if you could come in before sunday to clear it out. Thank you" But nope, didn't get a single notice til it was too late. Canceling my membership soon.

I've been going to this place since it was another gym (was called Power House Gym before it got bought). When Get Fitness took over they really perfected the place, some machines were missing for certain workouts, they installed a number of new machines which made the place THAT much better. The new rated are also astonishing, used to pay 30 dollars a month on the old gym, im paying 5 bucks a month and 60 dollars once a year so that the rates wont change. New comers are going to pay just a little more (The offer that I got was from the opening week only). All in all, one of the best gyms I've been to so far. A little bit crowded sometimes, but all in all awesome.

I am a professional fighter and new to the state of Florida. So far this is only gym I could find that the workers were nice/not rude, if you need help or have concerns it gets done then as apposed to later. Equipment is generally all open for use haven't run into any long waits. the one "wait" I did run into the member asked me if I wanted to jump in on the set so it worked itself out. overall nice place to work out and myself being from a small town in Arkansas greeted by name when I enter and leave gives it more of a "downhome" feel.

I joined Get Fitness about a week ago, and all of my experiences thus far have been wonderful. When I went in to get more information about the gym, I received a tour, information about the different options, and ended up getting signed up on spot because I was so pleased with my initial impressions of the staff and atmosphere. I was able to setup a free personal training session and fitness consultation for the following day at a time that was convenient for me. The personal trainer that I worked with told me where I was at physically, helped me understand the steps that I needed to take in order to get the results that I wanted, and showed me how to workout the parts of my body that would help me achieve my goals while incorporating techniques from the sports that I enjoy. Before I went for the session, I was nervous about not being able to lift heavy weights or do lots of push-ups, but the personal trainer made me feel comfortable with my abilities and also pushed me to do things, that they they knew I was capable of, that I would not have been able to motivate myself to do alone. I love that you don't get locked into a contract, you don't get pressured to get signed up for something that you are not ready for, and that I am greeted with a smiling face every time I walk in. The membership fee is extremely affordable, the trainers are helpful and knowledgable, and I would highly recommend this gym for anyone interested in maintaining their physical fitness or getting started on the right track.
