11/29/2025: Christine Kelly -- Good Instructor - Innovative interesting flows. good energy.

10/7/2025: Claudia & Marchetta are both good instructors too.

9/15/2025: Adding Ashley Newsome
to the good teachers list. Very good clear instructions.

7/26/2025: Update Recommended teachers list --> Raquel (multiple days), Charlene (tues & thur), April (sundays are lit), and Carlyse (sat) .

6/12/2025: Update I'm still happy. Instructors are great. Classes are nice. No complaints. The place is clean. Front desk folks like Grace are cool too.

I like this place. I'm happy i found it. I live close so it's nice to have access to quality hot yoga/pilates/etc studio close to me. I tend to enjoy most the classes that challenge me and are difficult like heated ones, but there are softer gentler class types here if that's more your thing. they have a shower too which is a plus, if you have something to do after class and want to freshen up. 5 stars.

If you’re looking for good energy and a welcoming space, this is not it!! Compared to SOL Yoga and other studios in Miami, this one doesn’t hold up. Even as the most easy-going person, I felt shut down right away. The front desk girl Laura was rude and not helpful at all. Save yourself the trouble. There are plenty of places in Miami where you’ll actually feel welcomed for the moment you walk in.

I loved the yoga class I took at Hanu, which is referredto as rocket vinyasa. It is a true all-levels class. You are free to challenge your balance and strength to focus on stillness and flexibility. Whatever you need, Martin is their to support your practice.

There is a new owner of this studio and they have become very strict and are not good at communicating their new “rules”. I had trouble finding parking and ended up being 10 min late. Unaware of their newly implemented 7 min rule, after 7 min… they take your money and do not let you join the class… very yogi of them :) I signed up for the class through classpass which does not communicate a 7 min limit. And why 7? Very specific. Anyways, they marked me as absent resulting in a $17 charge for missing the class. I called nicely to see how they can help me get my money back and their response is theres nothing we can do and “I mean..its common sense to not show up late”. If they answered their phone when I called before class started, I could have communicated the lack of street parking available. Anyways, not coming back to this studio. Would recommend alot of other studios with welcoming energy in miami beach. Examples include SOL yoga, Ima Yoga, or literally anywhere else. All the instructors move around anyways, you are not missing out over here!!

Natasha is an incredible instructor. Her classes are challenging and advanced, but I deeply admire the rigor she brings to her instruction. I highly recommend taking her class.

I do question the pricing strategy - I initially paid the drop-in rate, only to discover many participants were coming from ClassPass. Since I planned to take multiple classes, it was much cheaper to start a subscription with CP and reserve. I would have preferred to pay the studio directly, but it’s hard to justify $40 drop-in vs $6 on CP.

Dhyana Leyton’s yoga classes at Hanu Yoga have been a breath of fresh air as I reconnect with my practice. What I love most is the complete absence of judgment—her classes flow naturally, without rigid expectations or the pressure to conform. Unlike some classes where there’s only one 'right' way, Dhyana encourages variations and reminds me that yoga is personal, not perfection.

Beyond her skillful instruction, she has a gift for uplifting her students—she’s a natural life coach, always offering wisdom that extends beyond the mat. I’m so grateful to have found her classes and truly appreciate her nurturing presence. If you’re looking for a welcoming, fluid, and soulful yoga experience, Dhyana’s classes are a must!

Unfortunately, my experience with management at Hanu has been disappointing. It’s become increasingly clear that the focus is not on supporting the teachers or creating a positive experience for guests. After purchasing a full-year membership, I reached out both by phone and in person to request a membership pause. The response I received felt more focused on protecting financial interests rather than addressing my concerns. Overall, the customer experience has not been a priority, and this continues to be reflected in how issues are handled.

I rated it two stars because the teachers are the driving force here, not the owners.

Like most people, didn’t think much of yoga. Then I tried it and I felt a million times better, was able to sleep easier, get started earlier, breathed better , good energy, amongst other things and physically at the time , I was not in a good spot. Wish I had time for it today. If you’re stuck in a chair for 40 hours a week, or in traffic daily, have any kind of consistent unwanted levels of stress, this is for you. This is coming from a bro, not some kale eating hippy. I play music, done plenty of physical sports, just a regular bro I suppose. Trust me this helps. In more ways than one. I went when this was called green monkey, shotout to KB, your classes helped. Also, don’t bring a Pilates mat.

Worst Yoga Experience Ever!

I have been practicing the 26 & 2 Series (Bikram) since 2012 so I know what to expect from a class that any studio advertises as "the traditional sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises in a heated room."

Not only did the class not follow the traditional sequence and or postures but when I approached the teacher (Sean Patrick) and asked him about his flow, he got very defensive and told me that the class was not his own flow but rather the Bikram Series. At that point I truly had an issue with my experience.

I get it, in the one hour class sometimes teachers and studios alike tend to slightly change things around because it is hard to fit it all of the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises in just 60 minutes, but if you are going to hold a 60 minute 26 & 2 class and have your teacher say that it is the "Bikram Series", as a long time practitioner I expect the class to be very close to the original series.

Never have I ever been told in all of my 14 years of Bikram, that postures such as; rock & roll, sway the hips during the half moon warm up, only do chair pose positions 1,2 not 3, then go from warm up to the following order; standing head to knee, to balance stick, to standing bow, to standing straddle, to standing separate leg-head to knee, to triangle, to tree pose and floor. From floor we did a weird wind removing pose were he wanted us to push our knees away from our bellies instead of pulling them in, then a twist to the right and to the left, roll over and floor bow, the class ended there.

Again I would have no issue with this if the class was not advertised as 26 & 2. Sean Patrick, I have attached for you a chart below. Please note that many of the 26 postures do have multiple parts to it and if you are going to say its Bikram then give us Bikram.

Cheers and good luck to your studio with a teacher who has much to learn.

I absolutely loved Blen's hot Pilates class! 🌶️
It was the perfect mix of challenge and flow—abs on fire, glutes on fire, obliques on fire! Blen’s energy is everything—super encouraging and motivating, which makes her spicy flow even more fun. This class is great for athletes, dancers, yogis or anyone looking to push themselves. It’s dynamic and diverse, with cool props like bands, the magic circle, and blocks to keep things interesting. I left feeling like both my mind and body had gotten a serious workout!

Hanu Yoga Studio is a beautiful, spacious spot, and the hot room was set at the perfect temperature—not too intense. I will be definitely coming back and recommending Blen's classes to my friends who are looking for hot pilates hosted by an experienced pilates teacher! 10/10🔥🔥🔥🔥

Bonus points for the showers—such a nice touch after a sweaty session! And beyond Pilates and yoga, Hanu offers an amazing lineup of holistic wellness treatments. Highly recommend checking out Rashida for massage and Justin for acupuncture. Still need to explore the rest, but definitely coming back for more!

I am so grateful to have found this welcoming studio in South Beach. I was visiting for a week on holiday and got their one-week membership. It’s my first time doing something like this when traveling and it took my trip from amazing to incredible!

Hanu has a great mix of classes from ones to get your heart rate going, ones that allow you to stretch after a flight, and ones to fully zen out. I appreciate how many of the teachers provide hands-on adjustments and cater to all levels. I am a bit out of practice and was able to get into the flow, while my partner who doesn’t really practice, embraced the restorative classes and sound bathes. It made for an uber relaxing vacation.

I look forward to having a chance to practice at Hanu in the future. Thanks for creating such a warm space!

I’ve really enjoyed this yoga studio—it’s the main reason I’ve kept my ClassPass subscription. However, my last two experiences haven’t been great.

Today, I signed up for an inversion class through ClassPass, but when I arrived, I was told that it wasn’t supposed to be listed and that it was actually a $40 class. They said they would refund my credit, but the whole situation felt disorganized and unprofessional. If it was their mistake, they should have just honored it.

The previous class I attended also felt like a bait-and-switch, which makes me wonder if there’s been a change in management. I used to love coming here, but lately, it just seems a little scammy. Hoping things improve!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Phenomenal Stretch Class with Danielle!

Danielle’s stretch class was an amazing experience from start to finish! As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the area was—so much more room than I had imagined. The welcome area has a cozy, hippie-inspired vibe, creating an instant sense of comfort and relaxation. Then, stepping into the classroom itself, the atmosphere shifts to something more modern, open, and brightly lit. It truly gives you the best of both worlds—a warm, inviting entrance followed by a professional, well-designed space to focus on movement.

What really stood out was Danielle’s teaching style. She has an incredible way of breaking down stretches and techniques so that they feel both achievable and highly effective. I love that this class wasn’t just about basic stretching—it was about using multiple techniques to work toward a split in a way that felt functional and natural. Every movement had a purpose, and the variety of stretches she introduced made it easy to find what worked best for my body.

Beyond just the techniques, the Danielle’s class itself had such a positive and motivating energy. Danielle’s approach is both encouraging and knowledgeable, making it easy to stay engaged and push past personal limits. It didn’t feel like a rigid workout—it felt like a refreshing, therapeutic session that left my body feeling amazing afterward.

If you’re looking for a class that combines expert guidance, a welcoming atmosphere, and truly effective stretching methods, this is it! Danielle’s class is perfect for anyone, whether you’re a beginner or someone looking to deepen your flexibility. I’ll definitely be coming back for more of her classes. Highly recommend!

Hanu Yoga Studio has been such an incredible space for growth, community, and connection. The teachers bring so much passion and intention to their classes, creating a supportive environment for all levels of practice. The variety of offerings—from powerful flows to restorative yoga with sound healing—ensures there's something for everyone. The studio itself has such a welcoming vibe, too.

I've seen such positive changes in myself, both mentally and physically, since practicing here. I recently completed a 100-hour Hatha training with Daniela Novati and I can genuinely say that this revolutionized my personal practice. I'm so grateful!

Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, Hanu is a place where you can truly deepen your practice and feel part of something special.

My girlfriend and I attempted to attend a class here but they refused to honour her Classpass reservation. Blane, the front desk attendant, refused to provide any help and "offered" to allow us to pay twice. Blane then informed my girlfriend that she had to deal with the issue with Classpass in an arbitrary and ungenerous 7 minutes time frame. At that point we decided to walk out because it's not worth dealing with such low levels of customer service. We live locally and we're looking for a Yoga studio, this one is now definitely ruled out!

I've taken classes at many studios around the beach. By far, Hanu Yoga is my favorite. I've just signed up for the unlimited 6 month membership. I love the variety of classes, instructors, and times available. But also, even more importantly, I love the ethos & culture of the studio. When I've taken yoga classes in the past, it's always been a nice but kind of anonymous experience - like listening to/watching what the instructor does and trying to follow. At Hanu, the instructors really do feel like (non-judgmental) TEACHERS - very hands on and committed to teaching individuals to improve their practice overall (not just instructing the group what to do next). Everyone at Hanu is really great, although special shout out to Jessica who's an EXTRA amazing teacher!

Attended 1 class as an out of town guest. Sign up process was straightforward from their Website. Check in process was smooth. Apparently a front desk employee had apparently no showed for work but the instructor picked up the slack smoothly. Lots of up charges. $30 for a drop in. $3 to rent a mat. $3 for a water and I didn’t see a water fountain anywhere (there may have been one but not quick to find.). Classes like any studio are instructor dependent. Our instructor was fine but not a standout (yet … he volunteered to our class he was new to the game so I’m sure with practice he will refine his technique.). Studio was clean and look visually appealing.

The lady working the front desk was so kind in helping me take care of my dog. I had missed my flight home and wanted to take a class, but there was nowhere for my dog to go. She cared for my dog and was so kind to me, too. As for the class itself, I believe the instructor's name was Dan. He had very playful and intelligent sequencing. He was extremely skilled in teaching an open level format, where he was helpful to the beginners in the room while also offering more playful and advanced variations. He walked around the room and made multiple adjustments on each person. His music was some aya-inspired Beach-house which was fun and supported his energy and the flow of class. Overall, it exceeded my expectations to be honest. I will be coming back here upon my return to Miami

Attending Jasmyn’s 6pm class was such a blessing. I have been to many yoga classes through out the years and have never experienced a yoga class with such a knowledgeable and professional instructor. I haven’t felt so good in such a long time. Amazing and powerful aren't strong enough words to describe Jasmyn’s talent. Incredible thank you for getting me back into it. I willbe recommending Green Monkey to all my friends and family.

Moved down to Miami Beach from DC and love Green Monkey. Not to slight DC yoga, but this is probably the best studio in the US. Give it a try. Super friendly

Really great power yoga class with Paula; she's amazing! Loved the studio space as well - bright and airy with lots of windows. Nice retail selection. The location is excellent and you can grab some delicious healthy food at one of several nearby restaurants (highly recommend DIRT post-class). It would be great if the studio had showers, but that's just being picky ;)

I've been a regular member of Green Monkey for a couple of years now. I started my practice in Cambridge Mass. with Baron Baptiste so this style of yoga (athletic with some heat) has always appealed to me. Green Monkey has a ton of classes at all hours of the day so making time to get on your mat is easy. Lots of great teachers who all get a chance to express their individuality. The space is enormous and clean and nicely located not far from Whole Foods in South Miami. It's a win win.

The worst phone service by a young lady in a rush to close the studio on 7/27/17 at 8:26pm. Every question l asked she answered with something completely different. Knows nothing about classes, nothing about dates and schedules, as she is the "front desk" only, no idea if there is any info on the website, l can't leave my email address with her to get info later either. Why did l even call?

Green Monkey is an incredible studio with classes for everyone from yoga novices to yoga pros. When I lived in Miami, I had the unlimited package and went almost daily. Never took a single class there that I didn't enjoy!

For anyone new to yoga or looking for a relaxing class, I highly recommend Amanda Ray's "Slow Flow Restorative" for deep stretching combined with meditative mental exercises. This class helped me get into a meditative state, which is no small feat as my mind is always running. Amanda is a kind, patient teacher who will help you become fully absorbed in your practice in ways that I don't have enough words to describe!

For intermediate - advanced yogis, Luis Jimenez's "Power Vibes" class is an invigorating workout - you will sweat like crazy and have so much fun. Luis helped me access a number of advanced poses I had never been able to fully express in my body before, even after practicing yoga for over 5 years. He's super passionate about yoga and will go out of his way to help you get to your goals. His Slow Flow class is great too!

Other teachers I recommend - Kelly, Cassie, Virginia, Derek, Hilary, Funda, and Izzy.

I also want to commend Green Monkey for fostering such a welcoming community. I was always greeted with a smile by the front desk staff, and there are a variety of workshops, events, and activities hosted both within and outside of the studio.

Thanks for being awesome, Green Monkey <3

I have been going to Green Monkey Coral Gables (previously Bala Vinyasa) regularly for over three years. My week days would not be complete without my daily yoga class. there are classes and instructors for every taste, from therapeutic and slow flow restorative to Power classes. I enjoy being part of this community, where everyone is welcomed and known on first-name basis.
