This place is a NIGHTMARE.
I have been trying to cancel my membership and get a refund for months now. The manager herself Reyna, signed me up over the phone. She told me verbatim, that "since the last time I was a member (last year), the cancelation policy has changed and its a lot better now! It used to be so awful to get out of, now you can cancel at any time with no penalties." Which I then clarified, because last time I remember it being a huge headache to cancel my membership at this gym when I had to abruptly move out of town.

Two months later when I attempt to cancel my membership because-
1. they are charging me $131 for my first month $99.99/$69.99 a month membership
2. there is never any staff at the gym for me the physically sign a membership agreement (still haven't done that by the way)
3. they never return phone calls no matter how many "messages they leave for the manger" or however many emails you send
4. how dirty and smelly the saunas are

I was told by Reyna the manager that I need to be billed SIX TIMES before they will cancel my membership!! I then explained that when I signed up they told me I can cancel anytime without any penalties. Which I was then rudely met with, "I am aware, I was the one who signed you up." They she told me that they will not be canceling my membership "because that will get her in trouble." But I guess lying to members as long as it gets them to sign up is okay at this location.

I was then given the email for Reyna's boss, Bianca. Whom I have emailed twice and haven't received a response from. I attempted to cancel in mid October and they just now emailed me a cancelation agreement, but refuse to answer me about a the refund they owe me. I am still getting billed $131.

Avoid this place at all costs, I have the text messages to prove it.

Hot yoga om on 98 is so much better, friendlier and cheaper.

This was my second time at Hot works. I'm recovering from a fractured my right knee cap in 3 places and frayed my meniscus. I choose to allow my body to heal naturally through physical therapy and of course RICE. I used hot yoga at Hotworks. Working at my pace, I totally modified all the postures and used my scraping tool while in there..g
I walked out with greater flexibility and pain free. I was injured this year February 14th and
continue to heal and strengthen. I am 74 years young. Thank you Hot works!

Hot Worx 🔥 is incredible. It's such a private workout experience. Especially for women, it gives us peace to focus on our fitness without being oggled by males ;) lol. I love the sauna and the privacy of the classes. It's perfect for introverted extroverts! It's the perfect combination of all the right elements you need to dive into your fitness journey head first or continue it in elegant style! The staff are all so sweet! Ipspa was so helpful. She was so informative and truly what sold me on the place! Her hospitality, warmth, generosity of spirit of kindness did not go unnoticed! :)

OohhhMMMMggeeee, this is exactly what I was looking! I love cycling, then usually hit the sauna right after, and this combines both!! Whhaattt?!? I bring my eucalyptus oil, pop my ear buds in, turn the heat up to 130 annnddd GO! Reason for four stars vs five? They charge you a five dolllar fee if you don’t have second payment linked 🙄. Will edit this review once this handled, otherwise a great find!

Itzpa described how hotworx works perfectly & I needed something different from the gym and the pool. Something that will challenge me more. Raina gave me a tour and explained all of the saunas in detail and all of the health benefits. I love the sauna workouts. I like sweating - to me it feels like the workout is extra good. I've been a runner for 20+ years - so by this point my joints hate me - I like that a lot of these workouts aren't hard impact - and the muscle recovery. I'm excited to try all of the saunas.

What went well:
– The majority of the staff were friendly, informative, and welcoming.
– I always noticed diligent security in the parking lot at night, which made me feel safe.
What went poorly:
– Mandatory overpriced mat/towel: You’re required to pay $110 for their branded mat and towel, but I often saw people using regular mats and towels from home, which felt unfair.
– Lack of seating & storage: There are only 2 tiny benches, usually taken up by people’s big bags. The cubbies are flimsy and small.
– Bathrooms & supplies: For a place where everyone is dripping sweat, there should be paper or hand towels. Instead, they stock communal items like hairspray and deodorant. The two unisex bathrooms felt awkward in a sauna setting.
– Cleanliness in saunas: I often saw the same lint or hair sitting in corners for days. Some saunas smelled so bad (like feet) that I couldn’t even finish my workout.
– Broken equipment: Out of 8–9 saunas, one was broken my entire 6-month membership.
– Heat-up time: They don’t keep the saunas warm, even during staffed hours. It can take a long time to go from 80° to 130°. If the person before you left the sauna off, your 30-minute session can get cut in half while you wait for it to heat.
– Crowds of non-members: During business hours, free-trial visitors often filled the place. One bad experience turned me off completely: I had a 3:00 PM session set up, sauna preheated, water beside me. At 2:59, the manager brought in two trial guests, told me to move my things, and asked me to slide over. I did, only for the girls to leave. Then I overheard her complaining loudly that “members need to respect and share the sauna.” I had no problem sharing, but the way it was handled left me embarrassed, and honestly, I stopped coming as much after that.
– Repetitive workout videos: The same instructors, jokes, and ads every day. For $69/month, it’s frustrating to still sit through commercials.
– Dress code not enforced: Signs are everywhere, but I often saw men working out shirtless in front of staff, which was uncomfortable.
– Membership policy: They are clear about the 6-month minimum, so while I didn’t like being locked in, I can’t say they hid it. Still, it feels like they rely on contracts because most wouldn’t stay otherwise.
Overall:
I did enjoy some aspects, especially the staff (most of them) and the parking lot security. But the lack of cleanliness, unfair policies, and how situations with members are handled made it not worth the premium price. Since they don’t pay live instructors and everything runs on prerecorded videos, I expected more attention to basics like cleaning, enforcing rules, and treating paying members with respect. As it stands, I wouldn’t rejoin.

Love the variety of workouts, the free gym, the privacy of the sauna workouts or being in a small group of 3, and the accessibility.
Wasn’t stoked about having to purchase or rent their brand specific yoga mat bundle, and in my opinion it’s overpriced, but it was a one time purchase and I’ll use them nearly everyday.

1st workout was a success! It was just as fun as I’d hoped! I booked a 15min Hot Thunder workout which is a Rowing Machine Session. I just wanted something to ease me into working out again. Especially, since this is an entirely different experience for me. Itzpa is the most helpful and knowledgeable person I’ve met at this location. I was lucky that she was on staff at the time I came in. She made me feel super comfortable and confident by showing me how to work the panels outside & inside the sauna. And how to properly operate the app before and after each session. I would absolutely recommend giving Hotworx a try and to visit this location. I am super excited to become a regular here! :)

I have been a Sweat Everywhere member for 4+ years and visited over 15+ Hotworx Locations in 6 states (travel for work) I moved a little over a year ago and Fort Walton is now my home Studio. I have always received a warm welcome from employees, studio is a great size with newer equipment (than others I've been to) and studio is clean. Hotworx offers flexible (24 hours), affordable and a wide variety of classes. I Feel Fantastic after I've earned the burn!

I was recently on vacation from out of state. I’ve been a member since June 2025. The locations in my city are superb compared to what I walked into at the Fort Walton location. I thought every HOTWORX looked like the one in my city but I was wrong.
The front door doesn’t close right so there’s a written sign on the door saying please make sure it’s locked. I went to the vending machine to purchase items and the Apple Pay wasn’t working. Some of the saunas weren’t in working condition. I saw tape on one of the saunas doors.
I couldn’t do my other class because since the vending machine wasn’t taking my Apple Pay I couldn’t rent a mat.
Long story short I like HOTWORX but this location wasn’t in the best condition.

I’ve read a lot about this place on Reddit before signing up. Not sure why I thought I’d be special and not have the same problems.

It’s just as mentioned. Great experience when you have the membership. Cancelling? Good luck. I’ve gone to cancel in person twice and over the phone as well. This was like August or September of 2024 when I requested this.

They called ME (surprise) and told me they still needed to charge for December 2024 per the agreement. Cool. I gave permission. That was the terms of the contract.

Now here we are in June lol

They also somehow managed to gain access to another bank account?? Here’s a fun chat with USAA.

I’m going to go up there for the third time now. Will get everything in writing and request to have my account deleted and will leave once I can physically see it’s done.. They can’t be trusted lol

Super annoying. I’m already dealing with transitioning into veteran status. This is just another headache to deal with.

Going to consult military legal to see what avenues I can take against the company. Unfortunately that may be the most surefire way to ensure they uphold their contract, as I’m not able to get them to do that on my own.

Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve had to step in on contract violations against servicemembers

Also, word of caution, DO NOT trust those girls at the front desk when it comes to your membership. Get all of it in writing. I will almost bet they would lie and say I never came in or talked to them about it, so now I have to pull records from my bank proving I’ve requested cancellation multiple times before disputing

Then again, maybe the staff would be honest and say I did and this is more so a whole company practice and of no control of the staff. Not sure.

But will definitely recommend people go to more reputable gyms in the area. It’s a nice gym. Looks legit because the guy who started it has a lot of money.

Doesn’t mean their business practices are ethical. These are one of those companies that do the bare minimum to legally operate.

Update: 1 July 2025 - pay no attention to owner response. The charges I disputed were rejected by the business despite the claims they'd be refunded. Photos for reference

Extremely disappointed with the way this location handles memberships and customer care. I signed up for a 6-month membership at the end of February. In early March, I found out I was pregnant and called to ask about canceling, since I can no longer safely use the sauna workouts. I was told by a staff member that I could cancel early by paying two full months, and then my membership would end — so I chose to do that.

In June, I was charged again. I called and was told it was a mistake, and that I would receive a refund. That refund never came. When I followed up, the manager told me “there’s nothing they can do” and that I would either have to keep paying $62/month until September, pay $9/month to freeze it until I was ready to use my membership again, or pay $100 to cancel — even though I’ve already paid for months I was told would be my last.

I’ve now paid hundreds of dollars for a membership I physically cannot use, based on instructions I was given by their own staff. The lack of accountability, empathy, and consistency is extremely frustrating — especially when you’re pregnant and trying to do the right thing. I’ve now spent $450 on this membership, yet I was only able to use it for less than a month — and despite explaining my situation and being misinformed by their staff, I’m being told there’s really nothing I can do about it.

Do NOT join unless you are absolutely sure you’ll never need flexibility for medical or personal reasons, because once you’re locked in, they will not honor what their own employees say. Very poor customer service experience.

One of those people who never write reviews because im fairly flexible and forgiving in most areas. But if my review helps someone not get scammed out of a few hundred bucks here goes.

Be careful signing your contract. Read every single line word for word. I usually do- have signed many contracts and am an overall competent adult. Unfortunately, just about everything I was told in person was inaccurate about my terms and cancellation policy. I even asked the ladies for specifics because I would NOT have signed had i been aware that it was a 6 month contract, due to some potential upcoming military training. They gave me the terms of membership and cancellation verbally and it sounded reasonable. I cancel one month, and am responsible for two additional months payments essentially. I asked, "so if I cancel on x, y is drafted from my account and then I am responsible for z." I was told yes, that's absolutely correct. I asked a different person later on after signing up when I knew I would need to cancel, to still verify, and was told the exact same thing. Fast forward to two months of this continuing to come out of my account, I call and speak to another lady, who tells me YES, THAT IS CORRECT, you are owed two months of a refund and I will be sure to have our manager reach out. I actually have a TEXT MESSAGE from the staff, with this information.

So I finally get in touch with the assistant manager who tells me, actually our policy changed DEC OF 2024 and since you signed up in Jan, you are on a SIX MONTH CONTRACT. I told her exactly what i was told, that i gave examples of dates to be sure, and she basically said i dont care, this is your agreement you signed. She then tells me she has a LIST of people she was given to call to inform them of their contract terms. Seriously?

After arguing, and seeing that there was no way she was going to refund based off what I was saying, I said ok, well if that's what I signed legally im bound to it. But I would think as a local business you would honor what your customers are told due to improper staff training. At which point she gets angry at me saying her staff are improperly trained. Im sorry, I dont know how else you can look at that when you have staff repeating this information to customers SIX MONTHS after a policy change- one that impacts people financially!! And says dont worry I'll cancel your contract after one more payment like your contract says. LOL, thanks, I got that when you continued to try to "prove" yourself by repeating "that's what you signed."

I actually didnt mind the studio and would have considered going as finances allow in the future. I had also brought in friends for a trial class and told some people about it. Im not one to try to bring bad energy to someone else's business but this is TERRIBLE dishonesty and AWFUL customer service. I should have done my research because apparently that list is long and this is a reoccurring problem. The almost funny part is that she wasnt even willing to just admit her staff was improperly trained-even though literally a day ago i was told incorrect information, once again.

An apology and some compromise go a long way to keeping a potential future customer, but I promise I will NEVER recommend hotworks to anyone until it is run by someone with integrity. I hope the extra $200 was worth it all.

Read the contract, dont listen to the (otherwise super sweet and kind) staff, and dont be surprised when you want to cancel one day and they continue to charge your card anyway.

Unfortunately this didn’t work great for me :/ The concept was nice and saunas were great, however I’m 99% sure I was told my membership would be $55 and I would have a 3 month requirement, yet I was charged $68 every month AND when I tried to cancel they charged me $100 because I hadn’t been going for 6 months. I’m confident I was told $55 and 3 months on my first day there as that was the only thing I was concerned about when joining. Just a heads up - you also have to buy their mat and towel and you should get there super ahead of time to make sure the sauna is hot for your workout.

I’ve been going to Hotworx for a year and a half and it’s outstanding! It’s amazing how many benefits you get from working out in a sauna. I came from out of town and my body was craving a work out. I typically do 6 yoga sculpt classes a week + weight lifting. This studio was PERFECTLY geared for people like me. They have class options for everyone. Cycling, iso, rowing, yoga, Pilates, stretching, and then on top of that, the classes are in a sauna for that extra calorie burn. It was an added bonus that they had an attached gym for their members. The first day is free so I will be recommending everyone to try it out and see if it’s the type of gym studio that works for them. I absolutely LOVE HOTWORX! I have been a member here since they first opened (July 2023)… the workouts are great, but since last January (2024) one sauna room has been completely down, others have gone down throughout but typically they’re back up and running pretty quickly (within a month or two). Since the summer of 2024 the rooms have NOT been cleaned properly… I’ve been staring at the same lint ball and shirt tag in the cycle room for at least 3 months 🤮. I have reported the uncleanliness of the rooms but it doesn’t seem to help. Maybe this review will light a fire under their butts to get it cleaned up because I love working out at HOTWORX but definitely not when it’s unclean (which has caused me to lose motivation). It’s gross and if it doesn’t start getting addressed I will be forced to cancel my membership, which I don’t want to do.

I love the opportunity HOTWORX offers to cross train. It’s simple to finish a class and stack another class if I want and even hit the free weights in between. The sauna helps with a low back injury I sustained and also helps to relieve work stress while getting a good Pilates or barre class in. I find myself leaving less stressed, with increased energy, and overall just feeling great. I love the security and privacy of the facility too- not just anybody can walk in.

I’m a “sweat anywhere” member and I found this location was nice and clean. However, the iso saunas did not have the mats like my saunas back home. This made some postures uncomfortable. Also, the security door is broken and was ajar when I arrived at 5:45am. I had to manually close it behind me. I feel this is a huge safety risk.

I always felt relaxed and satisfied after I finished one or more classes.
However, they were becoming a little bit repetitive after 3 months.
Also, by 4pm, I could see that the rooms were not always as clean as I wanted them to be.
I did not like the fact that they offered a one-month free but asked you to buy a mat and a towel. I did not like the cancellation policy. You basically have to remain in the program for a minimum of 5 months.
I would nevertheless recommend anyone to try!

Update: someone finally reached out and issued me a review for the back charges I had paid. I was told that they had tried to contact me, but I do not have anything of the sort on my end.

I started working out in August of 2023 and enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately, I had an incident where I got locked in the building with someone and didn’t feel safe coming anymore. I walked in to cancel my membership and was told that the manager would reach out to discuss the incident further. I never heard from them. Upon looking at my bank statements, I’m still being charged. I called last week to address the situation and was told that they would speak with the owner and give me a call back. I’ve yet to hear anything.

I have been to several gyms in my time and I will say I have never felt so good after leaving Hotworx. The staff are so nice and friendly and are always happy to help! I think one of the main reasons I like it so much is the privacy and variety of options they offer in the saunas. I leave the gym every time with sweat dripping from my body knowing that I just had a bomb workout. It may seem expensive at first but if you are committed to going to the gym regularly it is definitely worth it. I just joined here and I’m so satisfied with my overall experience and the easy sign up. I was nervous to try something new, but the manager Rayna was so sweet, and she explained everything with a lot of patience and kindness. She’s a super positive vibe, and had me smiling leaving, and I loved that.
I’m in the service industry and I work late hours so this is the perfect 24/7 gym for me. You can use the hotworx app on your phone to open the door or a PIN code and it locks behind you, so you’re always safe and locked in after staff hours. That was important to me, cause im coming during all hours. There’s multiple rooms to book different sessions in, and you can do that in advance and see if anyone else is in the room too. That’s nice because I’m awkward sometimes and want to workout solo lmao. They have an ‘FX zone’ in the back with weights and more. The whole gym was very clean and even smells new. I’m loving the hot pilates/hot buns/hot iso right now. I’m so excited to use these workouts to tone and get in shape for the summer! I love being excited to go to the gym again and this place does that for me :)

I have RA, fibromyalgia, and other joint and muscle problems with limited mobility. I have struggled to find a type of exercise that doesn’t stress my joints or trigger a hyper pain response. Any repetitive movements of any joint would require a days long recovery This has made exercising consistently very difficult. I have a personal infrared sauna for pain relief. I found HOTWORX by chance, looking for a facility with a bigger sauna in which I could move more. O. M. G. THIS IS LIFE CHANGING. For the first time in 15 years, I am able to exercise without pain and minimal recovery. The classes are perfect- designed to challenge you to the extent that YOU dictate, no impact on joints, offer modifications for skill level, and focus on strengthening and stretching the muscles you need to function in life. The infrared technology penetrates into my muscles and allows unprecedented movement for me. I am able to do a workout almost every day. I feel invigorated after every workout and wake up the next day happily surprised that I AM NOT IN PAIN and ready to go again! The people at the Fort Walton Beach location have been kind, helpful, and supportive. I highly recommend HOTWORX to anybody with joint or muscle issues. I cannot say enough. Do it!

Everyone that works here is very nice and the place is very well kept.

Love Hot Worx! I love that I can schedule my workouts and have choices of many different workouts to choose from so I never get bored. My favorites are yoga and hot buns. The sauna detoxes and allows you to get a great workout in.

Just finished my 1st workout at Hotworx FWB. Great workout! Did hot yoga at 125°. It’s a good sweat and easy to follow as I am new to hot yoga. They even have a section for weight training!
Can’t wait to try the other classes.
