Watch the video and you will see why safety is an afterthought, if not for this location, for all of Hotworx. How can they not have controls in place to prevent such liability!? I'm honestly saddened by this as I believe in their mission, but unfortunately, they fall very short on delivery.

Wonderful facility and space lots of rooms- but come on! I travel around the country going to different HOTWORX and this one is sooo dirty. I was afraid to be barefoot in the room. I have never seen a HOTWORX that needs to clean their Sauna floors like this. Chunks of dirt between the floor boards and an overall gray color to the wood 🤮 Take a day to close and throughly wash these floors! Corporate needs to know this is how your floors look. *there is also nails poking out from where missing boards are and i got poked by a nail. This place needs so much work.

*edit: I saw your response. I appreciate that your floors are seven years old but they were definitely not clean and haven’t been cleaned in a long time in this room. Did you see the pictures? They need to be vacuumed, scrapped, maybe even replaced. These floors were not clean.

I ended my membership because I graduated but I truly enjoyed my time at Hotworx. The staff was welcoming, and it’s pretty much 24 hr self service so you don’t have to wait on a trainer. Just be sure to book your preferred time early enough and random partners could be a new friend. I definitely miss the heat 😖

HOTWORX Tallahassee is a game changer. The infrared sauna workouts are super effective, and the 24/7 access makes it easy to stay consistent. The staff is friendly, the studio is always clean, and the variety of classes keeps things fun. Highly recommend!

As someone who’s always been nervous going into a gym I’ve never felt more comfortable and in my right place than how I’ve felt at HOTWORX! I really enjoy HotWorx! There are HUGE benefits to infrared suana, and the workouts are virtual instructors, so you can go at your own pace. I signed up last month after my free visit. They're open 24/7, but you can use your free day to take as many classes as you like during the business hours listed when staff is present. There are always classes going-- many are just 15 mins. Some (ISO, Yoga, Stretch, etc) are 45 mins - there is always something about to start! They have an app that you use to schedule workouts and each room holds up to three people; when I go on the app to schedule my class, I usually book when I arrive to see what's available and have always chosen classes where it was just me- but I had one with another person who came in late and it was nice. The people who work there and attend are super cool, haven't had any issues, side eyes, or attitude. They also have a small gym area, which is great to use when I am waiting for my class to start or after a class. They also have a shower, which is handy on-the-go. You can use the HotWorx app (super easy to use) to log calories and, at the end of 90 days, depending on how many you burn, you can get discouts and cool stuff; same goes for the monthly bingo cards inthe gym-- but those you get by attending certain workouts or consecutive days /workouts, or fun tasks, it's different each month and super doable. You do have to purchase their yoga mats (bamboo because regular mats can leach chemicals under high temps), nice grippy XL to towel for mat ($100 bundle), bands, etc (extra cost from the $100 for the mat and towel) to take some of the classes, but there are some that do not require purchase of additional items. The mat is REALLY nice and much more durable than any of the ones I have purchased or used (I was REALLY into yoga for about five years). Also, they have nice cleaning spray and microfiber towels to clean your mats and also disposable wipes to clean your equipment after use. It is about a 20-30 min drive for me (depending if I'm coming from work, my other gym, or home), but it is worth it for me-- and I really don't like driving. Yes, there are a lot of college kids that attend, but I'm 41 and don't feel out of place. The owner is there a lot during business hours, and she is super nice and doesn't pressure you to sign up at all. Also, if you can't park out front (meter during week days) there are reserved spots in the parking garage of the building and it is a short walk on the same side of the building, so no worries about crossing busy streets-- I've never had an issue parking; it is also kind of nice that it is located where there are people around most hours (frat house and Potbelly's across the street, convenience store and sub shop next door, little restaurant at end of block), for safety if you go super late / early. No one is ever causing havoc, being inappropriate, or anything concerning when I've been-- but I tend to stay away Friday / Saturday nights because of the location. I recommend this to everyone!

Everyone together provides an awesome experience and a very welcoming environment. I met one of the owners momentarily as well, and he was gracious and generous. A gym anyone would love to get in their hard "Hot" workout 💪 at, for sure... any place that is pleasing to all the senses and also releases endorphines, count me in, twice!! Predatory agreement traps people. Cancellation in person or by registered mail kept them billing us for months. Then it was $100 per member or TWO month notice, after we cancel in person. This should be illegal. Banks are complicit because they won’t deny payment. Never again.

I love how diverse and open this gym is. I feel comfortable and safe. The isometric exercises, infrared, and heated sessions are amazing. You cannot get bored with the many sessions that run virtually and change often. The saunas are private and fit up to three people. I enjoy working out with my friends to challenge myself. complete money scam lol. when you sign up they tell u about a 3 month commitment (ok makes sense). They also claimed during the tour when you sign up that workout videos change every month so its not so boring and repetitive and after being there for almost 6 months, 3 out of alllll classes offered have changed ONE time. Called to ask how to end my membership and after she questioned for abt 5 min on why i don’t want it anymore, told me i need to give a 60 day notice or pay $99 on the spot to cancel. a joke that i was never told about when i originally signed up. orange theory would never good luck yall.

I earn the burn everyday and I absolutely love it! After each workout you feel so accomplished. Every time I am done working out I feel so much better about my day. I cannot recommend HOTWORX enough. The staff is also so friendly and they truly do want you to have the best experience & work out. The facility is always super clean. I have all the gear and products being sold. I actually loved Hotworx when I attended regularly and then moved across town and started not to go as much. After being a member for almost a year, I decided to end my membership because there was a closer gym to my new house. 5 stars is for the facility but the 3 is for how I was treated when trying to end my membership. Instead of “sorry to see you go”, it was “do you even go here” (I’ve been paying for a year!!) and “sounds like you’re making excuses but whatever” and getting looked up and down being judged. I understand they don’t want to lose money but now I’ll never reconsider joining back.

I loved this workout and experience. I would have signed up in a second if it weren't for the location and parking situation. I live in killearn and work on Capital medical Blvd. I'd be fighting 5 o'clock traffic to get there everyday after work only to hope for a parking space. If only this place had a midtown, bannerman or killearn location. At least it would be on my way home. Also I read there was an issue with the app. It states it's not user friendly with many having to call to get their spots. Lasty, the water issues of this location apparently are an issue as well. All things considered, I'd still sign up if the location worked for me but alas no. Note to the owmer: move. Depending on students for your clientele isn't wise. They leave in the summer etc. You want stable local clientele.

Low rating because of communication.
I have searched the website to find any way to contact a manager or owner about canceling my membership. It is sketchy that there are no ways to directly communicate with the people in charge.
I have called during operation hours and left voicemails… no one responds. It is very frustrating. I unfortunately have to write this review because I see that the owner is responsive to these reviews. Just trying to avoid being charged for this because I am not using it.

This is a very late review lol and I’m not sure how I remember now to to this haha. But I love this place very helpful workers they had helped me cut weight for my kickboxing fight back in November. They provided me the tools I needed to succeed and I had successfully lost 7pounds in one day and made the weight. I also won my fight to :). I love hotworx! It's such a great way to get a quality workout in when you don't have a lot of time on your hands. I always leave my workouts feeling very accomplished and very sweaty!! The staff is also great and always really helpful with any questions I have. I think it's a great investment of your money and your time! Also, the rewards calorie program is a huge motivation for me to earn the burn frequently because you can get money back to use toward your membership or some of the merchandise in the store!

I absolutely hate working out & always have. I have never been a naturally fit person & get easily discouraged when starting new kinds of workouts. The staff at Hotworx Tallahassee has completely changed this for me. I have been a member since May 2021 & have seen a pretty significant change in my body, my clothes, & how I feel overall.

Accessibility:
They make it easy to create a routine that works for you & helps build a good habit by being open 24-7 & allowing you to book your sauna in advance.

Routines/motivation:
The workout routines are challenging, but the staff & virtual trainers are extremely positive & encouraging. I always feel like I have earned my burn & it makes goal setting easy & fun. The stretch goals (especially the 90 days challenge) as well as the local &global calorie burn placement within the app scratches my need for competition that has been missing since I graduated & stopped playing sports, without being discouraging or pressured. That being said, the staff is incredibly supportive of alternative workouts, if the guided routine doesn't work for you. They are also incredibly motivating. Unlike a lot of gyms, they seem to legitimately care about you, how your day & work out is going/went, &are extremely encouraging when they see you. Shelby in particular has been incredibly supportive & encouraging. I, in a way, have been using her as an unofficial accountability partner, because every time we do cross paths, she immediately has something positive to say about how often I am attending & legitimately wants to know how I am feeling &if I'm seeing the results I want/need to see. All of the staff seems to "lean in" when you start to talk with them, which has been unlike any other gym I've attended or been a member at.

Heat:
I have to say I am seriously surprised how much I actually enjoy working out now. I have more energy &feel more alert even after exercising which isn't usually the case for me. I have had days where I really push myself &the heat has helped my body recover so that the next day I am only mildly sore. I have not, despite working out at length &with high intensity, had to skip a day since I've started simply because I am too sore. I can also say that I have seen a higher calorie burn in a shorter time when I exercise in the sauna. My flexibility (until HTWRX was virtually non-existent) has increased incredibly. I have been able to stretch and work out much more deeply in the saunas to the point that my chronic migraines (used to average 3 a week) and extremely intense neck/back pain has reduced significantly. I am happy to say that I get maybe 3 migraines a month now and only mild re-occurring pain in my left shoulder from an old injury.

Staff:
I know I already talked about the staff above, but I sincerely cannot appreciate them enough. I am not a very social person, and often do not go out of my way to interact with others ESPECIALLY at the gym. In the past, I have interacted with staff at other gyms and have always dreaded it because it was either incredibly judgmental OR one of the most disingenuous experiences of my life. At Hotworx Tallahassee, this couldn't be farther from the truth. I have already mentioned Shelby above, and again I cannot do her justice. She is so supportive and encouraging, and really does motivate me to show up (my goal is every day - to make a habit) and work towards my health goals without ever being disingenuous or "salesy" even before I was an actual member. Additionally, Apriena was very supportive in the beginning (though I haven't seen her in a while) and helped me find what workouts work best with me and my body type. She also shared her private fitness/health journey with me and it was incredibly encouraging to see someone who had similar goals and body type as me get the kind of results she did, in a legitimate amount of time, while still getting to enjoy her life. All of the staff is always so incredible and I actually look forward to interacting with them despite my usual introverted personality.

I have recently started exercising at HotWorx thanks to a recommendation from my girlfriend. You will find a TLDR below if you don't want to wade through the wall of text below.

The actual exercise studio is extremely well designed. There is total of about 9-10 saunas which can be heated up to 130 F. I was unsure I would enjoy exercising in such hot conditions , but after two days of acclimating I found myself thoroughly enjoying the extra strain on my body during exercises. You can book saunas in advance (using an App) so that you can exercise in peace in a personal sauna room.

The exercises shown on the TVs in each room are varied, informative, and well designed. They have some saunas with 15-minute High Intensity Interval Training cardio machines (bike/rowing machines - I spend most days exercising in these,). A series of saunas that have longer, 45-minute exercises such as hot yoga, hot Pilates, etc. (these have offered a nice variation from my typical cardio exercises). And an open area where some dumbbells, benches, and some body weight machine can be used.

As a bonus, they also offer an App to help you track calories burned during exercises if you have a FitBit, Apple Watch, or Fitness tracker.

TLDR:
I recommend you to try to see if Sauna Workouts are for you (HotWork offer a few free sessions for you to try) before you commit to a membership. That being said , as far as I'm concerned, I can highly recommend HotWorx in Tallahassee for the following reasons:
1) Friendly Staff who are personable and keep the gym clean;
2) Varied and effective exercises;
3) Welcomed added strain to exercises with the use Sauna Rooms;
4) Solitary exercise rooms.

As a college student staying right down the street from HotWorx, it was the perfect studio, offering a very clean facility, access to nice amenities, and challenging workouts. The new manager is very supportive and staff are willing to help you identify and work towards your fitness goals. It is definitely worth it if you like boutique studio type gyms and enjoy cardio focused exercises. I have also noticed improvement in communication between staff and members. Would highly recommend!

It was a great place when it first opened. I'm now on month 4 of leaving several voicemails as no one answers the phone even though it's within their business hours of someone being there. At first, I was just going to continue to hold my account until my son was born, but after not hearing back back obviously still being charged, I no longer want to give them my business. I've been trying to cancel my membership and they haven't called back or answered the phones. Very disgusted with how they are operating now. Hotworx itself is great, but this location is clearly not operating as it should. I wish I could find a corporate number.

By far the worst communication ever. Called in July to cancel my account due to me being around individuals you exposed or likely to have covid and was told the cost is the $99 fee.. all other gyms are waving fees due to the pandemic. The only choice is had was to place my account on freeze. When I asked how long was the freeze due to covid was told once I called and unfreeze it. I stated that I will leave my account on freeze until further notice. Called due to me being charge the full prize and testing positive for covid and was told nothing has change it’s still three month freeze I would have to call in.

The manager told me that There is no change although we are in a pandemic. If I’m being charge the full prize then I could come in.

Although I told her my son and I have tested positive and I work in an environment where people are exposed.

Hotworx has become my all-time favorite place! I was already in love with the detoxing and relaxing benefits of infrared saunas, so when they opened I was so excited to try them out! Staff is wonderful- Kayla is amazing, she makes me feel so comfortable and at home! The online scheduling, 24/7 access make it to where I can take classes whenever works with my schedule. I used to always miss the yoga classes at my old gym because they only offered certain times.
I love the variety of classes to choose from, although so far hot Pilates is my favorite! And I almost always get the sauna to myself! Highly recommend!!!

This is the BEST place to workout in Tallahassee. I've been to multiple gyms in the area and had memberships to a few. Not one has the same atmosphere, employees, or results as Hotworx. The price of the mat is a little steep but its a one time fee. The 24 hours access, the hot zone gym and the virtual training really make it all worth the price.
