The manager Moe is very rude I walked in and asked a questions about membership the 7 day free trial and he dismissed me saying if I don’t want to sign up leave his desk he was more interested in taking a personal phone call then dealing with a potential member. I have been a member at La fitness for 6 years but because of that interaction I will not be returning fitness ever. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude shouted at me to wait for Moe at his desk again she was taking a personal phone call on her phone. I am not happy with the service I do not deserve to be yelled out walking into a gym what is with the behavior of Moe. This is not the first complain about him look at the negative reviews of this location. He is not manager material I went to EOS and got treated great that’s what real customer service looks like. If you don’t believe me ask around he is a horrible customer service person. The old lady at the front desk has to be trained and stay of her phone. I am not a happy customer anymore.

This review is based on a singular experience:

I am an EOS member staying with a friend for a weekend who is an LA fitness member.

This LA Fitness is about 5min closer to the members house, so we chose to give it a try. The member doesn’t have guest privileges so he sent me a 7 day guest pass. (An opportunity for LA fitness to poach me from EOS for any sales minded entity). Immediately this guess pass is riddled with stipulations; must have an in-state ID, must be used in the first 30 days of membership, etc.

I signed up for the guess pass, but don’t have an instate ID (I live out of state, just trying to work out). When I got to the gym, the member clocked in and then I tried to follow up with the guest pass.

The General Manager (who was rude throughout the entire process) told me I would have to sit through a 15-20 min sales pitch, sign additional waivers to the waivers I signed online, and that I couldn’t do any of that because I was out of state.

He did however offer to allow me to workout for a $20 day pass. No thanks.

The member pays $30/mo for no perks, and the gym itself is just fine (similar to EOS in almost every way). My EOS pass is $22/mo, no upfront fees, and I get unlimited guests anywhere in the world.

The member is now considering moving to EOS because of this experience. He simply gets more for less…

Management will probably dislike this review, but it’s my experience with this gym.

Staff is great! Equipment is all in good shape. Very clean!! However, I have requested multiple times to adjust temperature in Sauna. Sauna needs adjustment on temperature in the Men's side. Only 120 degrees. Not because people are opening and closing the door, cause hardly anyone uses the Sauna room cause its not hot enough. You can sit next to any of the 12+ heating elements inside the Sauna and hardly feel any heat. Wellington LA Fitness location has a much hotter Sauna. Please increase temperature. You shouldn't have to sit in a Sauna for 30min before you begin to sweat. Competitor down the street keeps Sauna at 145 degrees. I will gladly adjust this review as soon as temp is adjusted in Sauna. Steam room problems today as well, which is a new issue that will hopefully be corrected promptly like the Sauna.

I’ve really enjoyed my experience at LA Fitness. The gym itself is quite big, which makes it easy to find space even during busier times. There’s a great variety of equipment, from free weights and machines to a large basketball court and squash courts. I especially like the extra amenities — the sauna is relaxing, the pool has three lanes for swimming, and the hot tub is perfect after a tough workout.

The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and approachable. Mornings can be a little crowded, but I’ve found that evenings are much calmer and there’s plenty of room to work out without waiting for equipment.

The only thing I wish they offered is towel service, but that’s a small drawback compared to everything else they provide. Overall, LA Fitness has everything I need to stay on track with my fitness goals, and the mix of workout space, courts, and relaxing amenities makes it a great place to train and unwind.

Been coming here for 8 months and never found issues. If you’re picky and still find things to complain about, that’s on you. But for me seeing how much they clean the gym, how often, and have paid attention to fixing machines, I have zero complaints. I have been an LA fitness member for 12 years. Today I had enough all thanks to lack of professionalism from a “manager” called mo his lack of care for an issue I kept having for months with checking in showed me everything I needed to know. I had auto pay on my account so when I want to go work out I don’t want to get called out saying my account is not active when it actually is somehow the QR code on the app is not working and for months no one knows how to reset it. Thinking this “ manager” is a solution provider he goes on to tell me to just give your phone number instead. I told him politely I did not want to do that every time … his response “not my problem”….. cool man it’s not my problem either to expose your lack of care for the position you hold. It not my problem to go to a different gym. 12 years of using your gyms and bringing people to you. No problem.

The gym itself is beautiful, still feels very new and has great natural light. My only complaint is the WiFi. This intersection is known as a dead zone with bad phone service however the gyms WiFi is nonexistent. Download your music and download your tv shows because once you get inside, there is zero service or WiFi.

The things I like One or two cycling instructors. It’s bright and airy. That’s about it. They have a HIIT room sold to new members and was something to look forward to. Instead they changed it to personal training only. Nice. They have a great Pilates room that’s never been used. They say they can’t staff it. Maybe something to think about before selling it as service for members. Brilliant. The infrared sauna that never worked and who they were in a law suit with the original contractors over its malfunction. Supposedly the suit is settled. They gutted the sauna weeks ago and it still sits gutted. Maybe if they remotely cared about delivering on what was promised the gym would get 4 stars from me. There is currently a seasonal dip in attendance but it’s worse than that. Many regulars are gone and I’m not surprised. Better options in the area. Me? I’m just too lazy to switch but I suspect I will very soon. Not that they’ll care.

Be aware canceling your membership! I came in on February 3 to cancel my membership and was told that I wouldn’t be charged that month and that if I was, to just call in and they would refund me the money. Not only was I charged that month but I’ve been charged every month since and I just caught it. I called to get refunded the money and they would only refund me March and April, not February like I was told in person, Because I did not allow for the 5 to 8 business days of their billing process. I had long been a member of LA fitness and this leaves a horrible taste in my mouth and it is just bad business. I spoke to Jenn the operations manager and she says that her hands are tied but I have a hard time believing that because I did not allow for 5 to 8 business days, effectively needing to cancel the third week in January, that I still needed to pay for February.

I went into the club to inquire about the cost of a membership. I spoke to Mo the membership salesman. He was very rude and kept telling me to go look up the memberships on line. I said I'm here now can't you tell me what the cost is? He rambled off some prices and said no we don't have a basic one club membership. My club back home has basic and thought it was odd that this club didn't have that. He never offered to show me the club so I could see what I would be getting for my money. I said I'm not joining. He insisted I give him my personal information because I came into the club. I looked up the prices online. How is it Mo the membership salesman doesn't even know the correct prices? IF I COULD I WOULD PUT 0 STARS!!!!!!! My friends and I visited this gym for a quick workout before the hurricane, and one of my friends had his AirPods Max stolen. We searched the entire gym and even tried locating them using Find My iPhone, which still indicated they were inside. When we reported this to the front desk, we were met with complete indifference. The staff informed us that there are no security cameras on the premises—a claim made directly by the general manager.

This is incredibly alarming. After doing some digging, I discovered that there are cameras in the gym. It felt like they were just trying to brush me off rather than genuinely assist. How can a gym not have cameras for safety? This lack of security not only puts members at risk but also reflects poorly on their accountability. We will be contacting corporate about this unacceptable behavior. It's disheartening to think that we walked in expecting a safe environment for our workout and left feeling vulnerable and betrayed.

I cannot recommend this gym to anyone. They make enough money to invest in proper security measures, and it's appalling that they haven't.

One interaction with Moe is reason enough to stay away from this location. His arrogance is exactly what prevents people from walking in to a gym. He speaks over you, especially women, and if you’re not interested in signing up right then, he makes it very clear you have wasted his time. He is loud during his “tours” causing interruptions to the class going on at the time when he comes in the room. I will recommended this location when he is no longer in change of the sales team. If you want to get some gross infection be sure to use their TRX straps. This location has a towel service so they have access to clean these properly and chose not to. Gross!

New member to this location. No clue what makes it " signature". The children they have working front desk are snarky and appear to hate their miserable lives especially the one skinny white kid who always is chatting it up with the young female coworker who looks like his sister also with a nasty attitude herself. The members at this gym themselves are no better, every machine is used then left for the next person to rerack the weights and people come to do 3 sets of 10 minutes of social media and texting on their phones while hogging up machines. Place is total trash and avoid at all cost. Also have seen based on other reviews here that management is utter garbage. The sauna has been broken for close to a year. Unacceptable! Called corporate and they have no idea when they will fix it. The staff at the gym says that no one communicates with them so they don’t really know what’s going on. The hallway to the women’s locker room smells like a dead cat. When brought to the cleaning lady’s attention she denied smelling anything, which is mind blowing. Spoke to another staff member who did smell it and we were told it was coming from the drainage in the handicap bathroom that is hardly ever used. She went as far as opening the door for us to confirm that’s what we smelled. It was disgusting. She must have asked the cleaning lady to pour bleach or something down the drain because by the time we got out of the steamer the smell was gone. Why not just clean the drain a few times a day to avoid the hallway smelling like a sewer?! The steam room floor was filthy as well and staff eats at the front desk and will talk to you with a full mouth, so unprofessional. We are paying for memberships and they are not honoring their part of providing certain services. Also, they close way too early on Saturdays and Sundays. The least they can do is reduce their prices. This is in no way a “signature gym.” Machines don’t work and other member hog the ones that do work.

BOYNTON LOCATION (6673 Boynton beach)

I recently visited LA Fitness in Boynton Beach, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience.

. The facility is poorly maintained, with outdated and often broken equipment. The cleanliness of the gym is also subpar, as I noticed dirty floors and uncleaned machines throughout my visit.

I was stopped by the concierge. She told me my membership didn’t cover “Signature Locations”. I didn’t understand because she checked me in more than twice since I showed up for almost a week consistently . She was adamant she did not. I felt racially profiled because her and another white guy with curly hair were telling me I’m not paying for the membership that covers this location. I asked “so how come I’m paying so much?” Also why wasn’t I stopped the first time then? I just feel like it has been almost 5 years since I’ve been attending this gym then when I find a location I like I get racially singled out ? I don’t think that’s right .

The staff was unhelpful and seemed disinterested in assisting members. I had several questions about membership options, but the responses I received were vague and dismissive. The overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and it was clear that customer service is not a priority at this location.

This made the entire experience unpleasant from start to finish.

LA Fitness Boynton Beach needs significant improvements in their facilities and with their customer service. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a positive and motivating fitness environment. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Any positive review you read on this gym is made up by the staff. This place is run like a bunch of high schoolers on vacation. Infrared sauna has been down for over a year. It’s a sauna not a space ship, what’s the hold up? The GM loves telling people he’s the GM but takes no responsibility for a gym that’s less than 3 years old to have so many missing or broken pieces of equipment. They also enforce rules that are not in the contract that was signed. When I pull the contract to point that out, it’s excuse after excuse with no accountability. EOS fitness will open soon in boynton and I will be actively telling anyone I can to ditch LA fitness and go to EOS. People pay extra for the “signature” aspect of the gym and get to use none of it.

My story reads like a screenplay (nightmare). Freezing cold yoga room which is NOT conducive to doing yoga. Dirty showers with gobs of hair, dental floss outside hot tub and male janitor entering women's locker room to retrieve towels! Not to mention highly defensive, denying and lying staff members, including the managers and even district manager. I'm filing a complaint with the Florida Dept. This place could be the best but it’s managed poorly. The sauna has been broken for months to start with and they could have installed a different unit like their other locations have but they refuse. Those other units don’t have issues. Easily a contractor can do the job in a day or two but they refuse to fix the sauna.

But the worst part about this place is that they shut off their steam room 30 to 45 mins before they close. That’s unacceptable. Not only is the sauna not working but the steam room is why many of us joined. They should not be shutting off the steam well before it’s time to close. That’s the only reason many of us come in there. The steam at the end of the day.

I’ve asked the front person to turn it back on 30 mins before they close and she refused. Said the I’m not allowed to turn it on past 9:30. Are you kidding me? So it’s the manager telling them to turn it off 45 mins before they close! Really?

This place has become a dump
The only reason I joined for the Infrared sauna, which, by the way burnt down, no info, and when it will come back
Most machines don’t work, especially the treadmills. The place is packed because of the snowbirds.
Really close down the place it needs a total revamp or this place or close it and do your repairs it’s not worth the money anymore. Pathetic.

This LA has nothing special, the HIIT room NEVER opened and it’s been a year… either did the Pilates … the woman sauna it’s been out of order for 6 months … this sucks. The staff are great and cleaning staff on point but… other than that why pay more for a signature gym when a regular one has at least a sauna room working. I give this a negative - 3 stars

Wouldn’t recomend this one at all! I signed up for cylce class and there is only one instructor worth it and her classes are always full. Audio is poor and way to less bikes. No way to book a bike on the app. I looked for help at the front desk and called several times, but they don’t care. They also announce sauna, and it has been closed for the last 9 month and nobody knows when they’ll open. Definitely not a good option!

I am a frequent visitor in the area. Moe at Signature jn West Boynton Beach was super friendly and accommodating. I love this place. Friendly atmosphere and clean with tons of equipment. 💪😊

Newest location in the area. Love this gym for the most part. It goes through phases where several machines will be out of service at once which is very inconvenient. Other than that, it is always clean. Staff are nice and welcoming.

This gym is very clean and nice but it isn’t as big as other LA fitness around and the sauna in the ladies bathroom has been broken for months. Not worth the extra money, other LAs have been renovated looking as nice as the signature one without having to pay extra for it.

This gym has only been open 2-3 years. The men’s infrared suana has been broken for over a year. The men’s steam room is broken intermittently while the sauna is broken. Staff is overly concerned with enforcing rules that aren’t in the contract we signed nor are they permanently posted anywhere in the facility other than on a printed out piece of paper taped to the wall. disappointing, we pay extra for the signature membership and half the perks aren’t available. Also, because of Covid they close at 10pm now instead of 11. Why? Lol.

The staff is trash as well. One guy claims to be the GM but takes no responsibility for the rules he’s enforcing that aren’t in the contract. Don’t believe the fake or paid reviews you see with photos either. all lies.

Big joke. Was here last year and Moe was great. Hooked me up with a pro rated time for when I was in town with the holidays, gave me a special card signed by him, couldn’t have asked for better. Walk in today and the lady helping me, no idea name didn’t introduce herself essentially threw me out the door. 20 bucks a day or 75 a month only… yeah right. The desk attendant mentioned a 3 day pass (which anyone can see online) and when mentioned to the salesperson denied it and scooted me out the door. Moving down here in March and now looking for a new gym. ALSO as I’m pulling out researching new gyms, she had the audacity to enroll me in all marketing emails. Hahaha. Stay away from the salespeople here.

This is supposed to be a Signature club and everything is broken. Missing a machines that are found in basic LA Fitnesses. I've been asking for heavier kettle bells that you find at regular clubs but all I get from management is "there's nothing I can do about it". Now the sauna is indefinitely closed. Why pay extra for a signature if there's no signature benefits?

Location is great for most in Boynton.

Aerobics machines are usually functioning and haven't ever really had to wait for one.

Bathrooms and dressing rooms are spacious and plenty of locker space.

The front desk staff here is amazing! They are always there to help with anything you need, very friendly and accommodating. This is the cleanest gym out of any LA i have been too. By far my favorite place to workout. All staff and even members here are all very friendly. I highly recommend this location, it’s a really positive environment.

People who work there seem very friendly but things are not maintained. A lot of equipment is not working and it’s been like that for a while. The cardio equipment never gets calibrated. Been to many excellent gyms and equipment and cardio are maintained. It seems like they just let things continue to get worse. Need more ropes/handles etc. Maybe this is the way Fitness clubs are run these days.

Update as of 7/26/23: do not join this gym unless you want to work out on filthy and broken equipment and floors that havent been properly cleaned in a year. Im currently looking at 6 toothpicks left on the windowsill, and they've been here for a week, so it shows you how often they clean. toothpicks, used ones,at a gym next to the pull up / dip machines (there is no kitchen or juice bar here).
Update as of 2/7/23: this gym deserves a C- rating. Machines have a year of dust and hair caked onto the metal, pads on every other machine are ripped and bars and ropes are rusted, broken and stripped. The staff and corporate should be embarrassed.

If you like clean gyms, do not come to this one. Even with a "cleaning" crew, days and weeks go by with the same dust/hair balls all over the gym floor, dirt and grime on every machine, litter on floors and a layer of dust on the mirrors. Oh, and let's not forget that almost every pad on the machines is ripped and has been for weeks and bars and cables are shredded and broken. Definitely not what you expect from a "premier" gym.

I never like to complain and waste my time on leaving bad reviews but maybe if enough people do they’ll be forced to fix the problems.

They claim to be premium but it lacks even basic la fitness features. The sauna caught fire 3 months ago and still has not been fixed with no word on when to expect it to be up and running. It also said infrared previously and it was not. I hear the steam room is broken now as well.

The classes have been cancelled for the last few weeks until further notice with no explanation why. I have heard it’s a leak but some signage and some urgency in getting it back in working order would be nice.

They claim to offer Pilates and HIIT workouts but those rooms have been finished and fully equipped, yet completely closed since they opened and it doesn’t look like they ever plan to open them.

They have always kept the barbell pads behind the desk but now hide the cable attachments there as well with censors on them and require you to sign them out with your name and phone number before you can use them. It’s really inconvenient and ridiculous. Once you go get your attachment to sign out, you’ve lost your spot at the cables. The cables are constantly broken as well.

The seats and pads at this “premium gym” are also torn and taped together. You’d think they could afford to keep up with basic maintenance what they’re charging.

The sinks in the women’s locker room barely work. Only 2/5 actually function.

The one thing I’ll say is excellent is the kids club. Most of the people that work in there seem to genuinely love kids and my daughter is always happy to go. It’s small but for an hour it’ll do.

I had high hopes for this gym but it’s been disappointing to say the least. Hopefully they surprise us a fix what’s wrong. If it weren’t walking distance to my house I’d 100% go elsewhere.

For a signature club the gym is nice, and clean. The issues are around the steam room and a multitude of other things not being maintained. The monthly fee is not cheap and the steam room has been out of order for 3+ months. Now the aerobics room is closed due to a leak and without any timelines for re opening. Management needs to have more urgency on issues like this.

It's so much better then planet fitness. Really clean big with plenty of room. Much better class of people. I brought planet fitness up because I work out there to sometimes but now they have started letting all the school kids in free over there, crowded,dirty ,equipment broke down the bathrooms are filthy all the kids are sitting around in there taking pictures of theirselves. I really enjoy LA fitness, it's really a good place to workout.

West Boyton Beach Nick is my go to trainer here. No BS. No issues. Nick is all about safety over heavier weights. Each session progresses a couple lbs over the last session keeping my safety paramount to the overall workout. Easy to communicate with. Adapts well when I’m having an off day. Works very well with my schedule. If you are serious about building a better body and more youthful looking Nick is the one to have as your trainer

Corporate really need to teach at least one employee on how to use this silly key locker! No worker knows how to use it or care to learn forget about asking! This is the best LA Fitness that I've been to. It's always crowded so what does that tell you. The staff is top notch. The cleaning team is excellent. I always tell them what a terrific job they are doing. I love the pool and steam room. I have never seen it messy in the ladies room. If people complain about this gym they need therapy because they do a first rate job.

Loved this gym. Started going here when the one on gateway and congress was being renovated. The equipment is in great shape minus a few machines for legs. The sauna and steam room are nice. Not the biggest fan of the inferred sauna as you have to spend close to an hour to really break a sweat. A plus is the people at the gym itself are also all very nice.
