This is a horrible LA Fitness location.
Let's begin:

1. Equipment is dirty

2. Weights are never where they should be

3. Equipment is broken

4. The basketball court has had leaks from the ceiling for over 2 years now but nothing has been fixed. I've seen several people slip on wet spots. Maybe the clowns there will fix things after a nice lawsuit

5. There are other locations within 10-15 minutes of this location. They are much more organized, clean, efficient and safe. This location is the TEMU of LA Fitness'

6. Vents are black and dusty. Haven't been cleaned or serviced in years. I wouldn't be surprised if people have gotten sick from it and just don't know it's the cause

Gym has leaks, I slipped on one, hyperextended groin and back, 5 months without lifting or sports, should have sued, but I’m not that type of person. Too many young teens and former employees that probably don't have a membership come in and walk right past the check in desk, the employees in the front desk are either to scared to do their job or they know them. Corporate has to put and end to this. I pay for a membership while this gym is open to the public and they don't pay. Please put an end to this. Also raise the hours, clean, suspend people that follow the rules and maybe finance new equipment. I been member for about 3 years, Bad management, things take forever to be fixed, air conditioner on the basketball court has been broke for at least 4 months, I been trying to speak to everyone that someone will get hurt because the floor get very slippery because the court is so hot! Staff is nice enough but 1. Most equipment is rusty and many cardio pieces are often down for service and 2. The free weights are never in order. I realize this is the responsibility of the members but I’ve been to other LA Fitness locations where the members respect this courtesy - it all starts with holding people accountable. This place spends little to no attention money and resources on the facilities. It's disgusting in the lockers, showers, bathrooms, pool area. They need to hire a professional cleaning company to deep clean at least once a week, if they rely on a couple custodians who dgaf because of XYZ probably legit reasons this explains the condition of this gym, who is the facilities manager? Fire them if they have one and if they don't hire one to keep standards for staff and guests high, it's not that hard just be properly staffed with good quality people, we know you guys have the money to do that. After 20+ years with LA Fitness, I’ve officially had enough. This morning I experienced the most embarrassing and disrespectful encounter with their front desk staff, Raymond Villalona. His rude, unprovoked attitude was unacceptable. If someone can’t handle basic customer service, why is he the first face people see from 5am–9am? On top of that, the gym is outdated and the energy matches his. I’m done.

My experience signing into this gym was really bad, these are some things I experience and that’s why I DON’T recommend this place.
1. Surprise annual fee: I was told the gym was running a “sale,” yet no one mentioned an additional annual fee. It showed up on my bank statement without warning.
2. Zero response to complaints: I’ve texted the guy who helped me signing in , I think his name is Jonathan and he didn’t answer back my text messages. (While he was trying to sign me in literally he was calling me everyday but for complaining he completely ignore my messages) , I went in person to talk with the manager, his name is Gale I guess and he said they were going to call me to tell me an answer or solution. They never did, no follow‑up.
3. Forged signature: When the manager was checking the system he saw the contract, and we found a signature that is clearly not mine. That’s a serious breach of trust.

A gym should be a place you feel motivated and safe. After hidden charges, stone‑cold silence, and forged paperwork, I don’t trust this place at all. Look elsewhere before signing anything. You will thank me later.

I recently signed up again at LA fitness after 5 years. I do enjoy the gym and I feel very safe leaving my baby at the Kids club, I want to mention Elizabeth is the best and my little one loves her. I haven't been to this location in a while, and unfortunately, I won’t be coming back anytime soon. I visited on Sunday, and I was extremely disappointed.

First, the timer on the hot tub was broken, which is frustrating when you're trying to time your session. The tile around the pool was filthy, and it looks like it hasn't been deep cleaned since the place opened. The men's locker room was in a similar state—dirty and rundown. Honestly, I didn’t even want to put my bare feet on the floor, it was that bad.

This gym really needs some attention and maintenance. I expect better for the price, and it’s unfortunate to see such neglect at a place that should be a clean and comfortable environment. Will not be returning anytime soon.

I believe the branch on Lyons Rd has great potential. On the positive side, it is located in a strategic, convenient location. Large gym facility with plenty of machines, plus relevant restroom areas. In addition, they offer extra services like sauna, large swimming pool and jacuzzi, basket ball court, racket ball courts, group lessons rooms, babies court, all of which cover the needs and expectations of most people. Last, but important, is a very large parking space, all around the facility.
On the less positive side, they need to improve the administration. Basic details like paper towel - they only offer 3 stations for such a large area (none of them in the actual gym). To make this worse, often these stations run out of paper.... However, this problem hit its worst on February 27, 2025. They actually ran out of all paper towel in the entire gym. There was not a single paper towel ALL DAY LONG, and the same thing applied to the disinfecting tissues that service the gym area. In addition, when I approached the receptionist about this issue, I was shocked to discover that she was not even aware of the problem.. lol

Other admin weaknesses point to the lack of certain dumbbells, particularly in the 20 lbs range - rarely available. Many machines are old, they break down, and management actually relies on clients to report problems when they should instead become proactive ensuring they offer a reliable service, and implementing a professional maintenance and inspection routine...

Last, the branch would benefit from a more thorough cleaning particularly in the restrooms and locker areas, all day long.

Hope the above contributes to the improvement of the gym.

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness for quite some time now, and I have to say that I am increasingly frustrated with the closing times. While I appreciate the variety of equipment and classes offered, the limited hours make it difficult for those of us with busy schedules to get a good workout in.

Many gyms in the area stay open later, which allows for more flexibility. I often find myself rushing to finish my workout before they close, which takes away from the overall experience. Additionally, there are times when I would like to go for a late-night session after work, but the early closing times simply don’t accommodate that.

It would be great if LA Fitness could consider extending their hours, especially on weekends. A little more flexibility would go a long way in making the gym experience more enjoyable for members like me. Until then, I’m left feeling disappointed and considering my options elsewhere.

I have been a member of this gym for over 8 years now, since I had a knee replacement.
I joined so that I could get my own therapy doing water aerobics, it was fabulouse when I started, it kept me mobile again.
I am a senior 67 years old with horrible arthritis that affect my joints, therefore this is the only exercise I can do to keep me mobile.
Pre-Covid we went from 6 days a week to now, only 1 day a week for aqua aerobics, many other LA's in the area have also cut down on classes, I cannot afford to waste gas traveling to multiple gyms to get a workout.
I wish we could get at least 5 days a week, what is the point of offering this service to your members if your not providing it? THATS WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR!
Many of the water aerobics people are thinking of moving to EOS, that offer the same service.
Though I must also praise Christina for making changes for the positive overall, she's a great addition to this gym, she oversees the cleanliness and fixes issues that are under her control in a timely manner. She's a 5 star keeper!

Typically, I appreciate LA fitness wherever I go, but this has been the worst. The machines are rusted and surrounded by dust. Treadmills were unbalanced, and ellipticals were rusted and needed lubricating. As for clients, a vast majority of men and women must be lifting too heavy as weights were being slammed everywhere. I’ve been coming here for many months and all I ever do is mind my own business. Today, I asked the girl up front if I could leave my phone up front to charge. She said yes and I thanked her and came back an hour or so later. My newly bought cable was replaced by an older beat up one. I told the staff just that. First they assured me that it was the same one like I’m stupid. Once they realized I wasn’t having it, they acted like they were checking the cameras but they really weren’t. I told them they had 5 minutes to find my cable or I’d be calling corporate. To no surprise, my cable still wasn’t there when I returned. Then, after I told some older bald, short guy that’d I’d be calling corporate, he tried to be a tough guy with me. Then he drove around the facility where he saw me walking to harass me but once he saw me walking towards his car, he scurried back to the front of the facility. One lat pull down machine, all machines are old (with rust), dirty locker rooms and showers (with slow drains) even when staff mops everyday. Anytime something breaks no replacements for months if ever, from the paper dispenser in the men’s locker room to the broken hooks outside the sauna (you don’t have two screws?) and everything is outdated and I mean EVERYTHING.

You sold off what was a good La fitness in parkland and didn’t invest a single penny into this one. Now this is the worst gym in a 20 mile radius you’d think your lifting in North Miami with the shape this gym is in. This place is in shambles, no bueno.

Shows complete disregard for members safety an example being the state of the step risers. These are platforms to elevate the steps used in circuit and step classes. The rubber stoppers in most of these are damaged causing slipping movements. Members who have been injured cannot sue because of the membership agreements that they had to sign when joining. The stereo is often broken and floors and bathrooms not cleaned properly. The instructors are excellent but are likely to leave when the large Crunch Fitness opens. I hope that someone in management reads this and deals with these issues.

Like any LA Fitness, guest are bad about re-racking the weights properly. But they have nearly everything you could want for your exercise program. It's worth checking out.

I used to go back and forth to this location during weekends to save time as I used to drive to Parkland one. Ever since the Parkland location has closed down, I am a regular in this location now. And it's a hit or miss to be able to hit your goal for the day. Doesn't matter when you walk in ! 8:45 pm? It's still crowded. If you are lucky, you might get squat rack once in a while or be like, "How many sets you got left, bro?"

The reason why I am leaving this review is because of the hours of operation, specifically on weekends. There are many times where I want to go to the gym on a Saturday or Sunday evening only to be reminded that they close at 7. This is unfortunate as I know a few other people who also have issues with this. The gym itself is pretty good and it’s conveniently located near my house, but for the premium price of $40 a month, I think they should definitely extend the hours on the weekend to match the weekday hours.

I would give this gym a zero ⭐️ if I could. I pay $60 a month plus a deposit I gave, the only reason I signed up here is because I live by. This gym has 80’s machines that are all broken and rusted. Weight machines are super outdated and cardio machines are from 1980’s. For $10 a month go to Planet Fitness with brand new cardio machines and least weight machines are from 2015 and newer Bathrooms are disgusting and I thought I had it bad at planet fitness. I give planet fitness a 5 ⭐️ compared to this place. I was really disappointed at this place, LA Fitness Owners / Management - step it up and upgrade this place with updated machines to this century.

Went to this LA Fitness and had an exceptional experience. Jeffrey was one of the most helpful employees I have ever encountered in any retail occupation. He was so nice and you could tell how genuine he is about his job and the customers. Jeffrey is so deserving of a raise, or even a great Christmas bonus!

This gym as become a part of my normal routine for working out. At first I was skeptical to work out in a gym but the equipment and staff are extremely friendly and kind. It gives a home feeling once you walk in. The equipment is sturdy and dated which makes working out a bit easier with the diagrams they have displayed. The center is kept clean and spotless. Overall a good place to start working out.

The convenience of travel time to this gym is the only positive note. Not quit sure how anyone can say this gym is “neat and organized”. I just recently started coming back to this LA Fitness location due to it being less then 5 minutes away. Currently go to Athletic Factor and Redcon1 so it’s hard to compare atmospheres but if I were to recommend any LA Fitness it would have to be Deerfield or Boca location. The staff are more interactive and don’t look so miserable at the front desk, They continue to upgrade the floor layout and take care of the equipment more.

LA Fitness on Lyons Rd need to update their floor plans so it’s utilized properly. Invest in better cardio equipment. Majority of the machines are missing numbers so unless you really know the weights on each plate a new customer coming in can’t visually see what they are selecting. Nobody respects the dumbbell rack and I see zero enforcement from site managers to assure customers are respecting the gym equipment and those around them. TV’s are outdated and not enough for all cardio equipment. The padded flooring is lifting near the squat racks it’s only matter of time until someone slips/falls. Need more cable attachments and new options.

Am I the ONLY person that wants to go to the gym AFTER 8pm! For the price of membership it should be open 24hrs. 8pm is waaaay too early to close a gym. If anyone agrees write a review. Speak up.

Joined in July 2023 and since then, it’s gotten worse. Pads on many machines need replacement. Dumbbell rack is always a mess as the have the upper rack labelled for the heavier weights, I’ve never seen that in 40 years of being a gym goer. Mats have huge holes and the machines haven’t been maintained ever.
If it wasn’t for the lo station, I’d cancel my membership.

This club has had its day..First of all they allow a basketball trainer in the morning to use have the court to teach basketball classes for outside memebers so you can only use half the court while he is there. The equipment is in bad shape and they need new machines this club open back in 2004/2005 and most of the machines are still original .. The TV in the locker room is broken... The club is always full
Of young kids teens mainly walking around in pajamas and flip flops ... Overall
It needs a facelift and better control over the dress policy anything goes pretty much at this club... The only bright spot is the juice bar .. don't join unless they offer a free week then you will see what I'm talking about

Decent gym but lacking enough equipment to accommodate the usual amount of guests. Get rid of the grouchy guy at the front who has never once said good morning and have the courts cleaned before or after the gym is opened. The basketball court being mopped during a weekend morning is really baffling to me.

This club is one of LaFitness newer locations. Bright and airy, nice new clean equipment. The Mgr. Adolfo is great, very helpful with any questions or situation. Can be crowded depending on the time of day, like any other gym.
