Not a bad gym. But I question the security in the parking lot. Today, a car on the west side of the building, was broken into. A window was broken, access to the trunk was attained and a lady's purse was taken.
No cameras on that side of the building. The gym employee at the entrance was advised and his only response was "we have nothing to do with that", and just kept on looking at some computer. No questions were asked.

The jacuzzi at this location is so unreliable it closed multiple times this years even if the jacuzzi was working the knob wouldn't be operable;the entire jacuzzi system is over two decades old it needs to be replaced entirely.Half of the lockers are bad condition,and some of the circuit machines needs to be replaced with better machines especially the abs machine,and everytime you check in, it always shows the pacific time zone instead of eastern time zone.We're dealing with the lesser of three evils of LAFITNESS locations in Northeastern Miami area(123rd bone dry pool/jacuzzi for a whole year and counting)(this location unreliable jacuzzi)(207th unreliable sauna and jacuzzi but still heated)Crunch,Youfit,Amped,EOS,

I started training at LA Fitness North Miami Beach back in 2016, and after two years I moved closer to the LA Fitness on Sheridan. Because of my work, I train at several LA Fitness locations in the area, and unfortunately, this one is by far the most run-down, dirty, and neglected. The equipment is outdated, the treadmills are filthy and often broken, the carpet is disgusting, and the lockers in the bathroom are completely destroyed. It’s really disappointing to see such disregard for loyal members who have been training here for years.

This Gym is the worst. Where do I begin. The equipment is old and rusty. Most machines are broken. Broken lockers and dirty and smelly rugs. It's a haevan for infections. They have a revolving door policy. Do Not Buy Personal training it's only 25min and the trainers aren't interested in meeting your goals. I lost 250.00 on personal training with no results. I don't recommend you buy a membership here. The management gives the same song and dance about the gym getting refurbished. Don't trust them.

I am writing to file a complaint regarding the handling of my membership freeze and cancellation process, which has caused me significant inconvenience, financial loss, and emotional distress.

In April, I submitted a membership freeze request for June and July, paying the $30 fee ($15/month) as instructed, due to travel plans to Korea. After that, I realized I would not be able to return until after August 15 and requested an additional freeze extension for August.

However, multiple staff members at the Irvine,CA location informed me that they could not process the change and directed me to the main email. After sending several emails, I finally received a response, only to be redirected again to the Irvine manager — who also claimed they couldn’t help.

Subsequently, I received an email from a staff member named Natali asking me to call her. I paid for international calling and called at 3 PM PST, only to be told she was unavailable. Additionally, during this call, I was treated in a racially insensitive manner by the receptionists, which I found deeply upsetting.

I followed up via email again and was told to call back during working hours. When I tried again the following week, I was once again told she was unavailable — only to later discover that Natali works in a different state. I was never informed of her exact location or time zone, which caused confusion and loss of both time and money.

Out of frustration, I requested cancellation of my membership and a refund for the last month, which I have not used due to being abroad. However, I was told that I now “owe” $15 for the August freeze — even though I had already requested it during my frozen period in July — and that no refund will be issued since the cancellation has been processed.

This situation makes no sense:

If my membership is now canceled and cannot be used, why am I being charged for August freeze?
If you charge the freeze fee for August, then I should be able to activate and use the last paid month in Aug
I requested cancellation during my freeze period — I did not have a chance to use the final month I paid for.
I believe I am entitled to a refund for the final month or at least a fair resolution.
I would like to escalate this issue to higher management or a corporate-level representative. I am deeply dissatisfied with the lack of clear communication, the unprofessional handling, and especially the discriminatory treatment I experienced.

Please advise me of the correct department or contact to formally escalate this issue to.

Old and rusty machines. Increment dials are all worn off (see photo) so you cant tell if you are adding 0 or 15lbs. Has a decent variety of leg machines but not enough variety of ab machines that other LAfs have. And like all LAFs, the machines floor and weight room are super crowded and ppl are waiting for machines while there are 4 of 5 empty squash courts, an empty pool, and an empty cycling room! Stop being cheap and put more leg and ab machines in the squash courts and stop wasting space! Also, maintain the machines! Many need recalibration, new parts, and new dials!

I was robbed inside LA Fitness Miami Gardens. My things were in the bathroom, in the locker, WITH A PADLOCK, and they broke my lock (which they also took) and robbed me. I went to the manager and he told me, there was nothing he could do. He said: you can call the police yourself and continued working. I didn't get any assistance from the gym. I called the police who filed the report but nothing happened. I expected a little more answers, since I HAD A LOCK and I was still robbed INSIDE THE GYM, while I was working out!

I went in today to the gym asking for a day pass. I needed to use the restroom as well to clean some injuries on my face. The front desk guy today at 3:30pm denied me entry and said there are no day passes for sale. I asked my father to call the gym and ask if they sold day passes and the same guy told my dad it was 20 dollars for a day pass. I have an injury on my face that is visible and was denied entry due to prejudice and discrimination. How is it possible that there are no day passes for sale when I walked in, but over the phone the same guy told my dad they are for sale for 20 dollars. A shame that you lost a potential future member due to being judged at the door.

A lot of the locks on the lockers are broken. I had to become a handyman 👨‍🔧 and figure out how to rearrange the locks from the inside so that it would properly hold my lock. 🔒 They need to have an employee go through and tighten all the locks so that they function properly. This is very inconvenient & it’s lazy seeing that it hasn’t been done already.
All LA Fitness locations have many flaws. The company doesn’t seem to care. I’ll be switching my membership soon and going to a better gym.

I don’t expect much from LA Fitness. It’s usually a decent low cost gym. But this location is by far the worst LA Fitness I’ve ever seen. It is horribly managed, half of the lockers are broken, several of the lighter dumbbells have been stolen and were never replaced, and random people are allowed to blast blue tooth speakers on top of the music already coming out of the PA. I’m really surprised LA Fitness corporate management has allowed this location to get this bad.

There’s a Matt Pilates teacher, Hadar that came in 10 minutes late and the first thing she mentioned is how “disrespectful” it was that the teacher before her left equipment out. That it only happened in LA fitness because there was no “respect.”

The carpeting needs to be pulled as there's a terrible musty smell all over the gym. You'll find dirty wipes in all of the machine cup holders. The bathrooms are in need of updating. The shower curtains are flimsy and gross. You can never reach anyone on the phone which is just crazy. Why bother having a phone number listed if no one answers? Some class instructors are good. Front desk varies from friendly to super unfriendly. Parking between the hours of 5-8 PM can be quite limited. You'd be best off going to a different location. Unless you like to shop at TJ Maxx or Publix, or grab a cup of Starbucks, you'll find those places near this location. 😉

Unfortunately, my experience at LA Fitness on 123 Miami Beach was extremely disappointing. I visited on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 4:00 PM, and was met with unacceptable conditions. The gym is in deplorable shape – extremely dirty, with an unpleasant smell and several broken machines. Additionally, the customer service is terrible: the manager, who should set an example of hospitality and professionalism, was unprepared and incapable of assisting clients in a polite and welcoming manner. The approach was rude and unpleasant, clearly not prioritizing customer satisfaction.

To make matters worse, the bathroom is always dirty, with many things broken, showing a lack of care for the environment and hygiene. Overall, LA Fitness on 123 Miami Beach falls far short of offering the quality experience expected from a gym of this scale. It’s unfortunate that both the service and the facility are so poorly maintained. Not recommended.

This is my favorite LA Fitness near broward county because of the friendly staff and members. There are sevearl facilities closer to where I live, but this one is worth the drive. I really like how the carpet looks inside after a recent cleaning. Giving this a higher rating than where they currently are (3.9) because I really like this gym. I'd be happy to come back and change my rating to 5 stars if I saw an increased effort in working with the members to put equipment back to where it belongs. Also, there are some small cosmetic issues around the facility that, if fixed, would make this gym feel next level: tears in the carpet, old gum stuck to the carpter, smudges on the wall, etc. Hope to see these improvements in the near future! Either way, I will continue to enjoy working out here.
