I signed up to this dump for the sauna and it is by far the worst sauna environment I’ve ever seen. It is a miserable, gross, sweat pit..l People hang there sweaty clothes all over the heater (staff won’t do anything), the door opens every 45 seconds, even the janitor held the door tonight for 15+ seconds and started conversing with a patron in there like it is a social lounge and not a sauna— and looked at me like I was an alien when I asked he close the door due to letting all the heat out: People turn the dial down. It’s dirty— empty water bottles, towels, scattered— the drain on the floor is clogged and the sweat will form in large puddles on the floor. This place is disgusting. The rest of the facility isn’t any better.

SCAM!!!! Luis the manager of Personal Training ROBBED me of $200. He signed me up for a personal training session I told him I never wanted. I came in the next day for a refund and he said he processed it. HE NEVER PROCESSED IT HE LIED. I waited 4 weeks and still no refund. I’ve been a member at this gym for a while and always appreciated the community vibe — people helping each other out, sharing tips, and pushing each other to grow. But recently, that positive environment was completely undercut by an unnecessary and unfair situation.

While working out, a fellow gym-goer (not a trainer, just a friendly peer) was giving me some casual tips on my form. Roxanne — a former trainer of mine — saw this and reported it to management. The guy was given a formal warning for "training me," even though there was no money exchanged and we were just two people helping each other out, like everyone else does at this gym.

It felt personal and petty, especially given that there are people helping each other on the floor every single day. Why single us out?

The manager's handling of the situation was disappointing as well. Instead of diffusing the issue or understanding the context, they chose to escalate it without reason. It makes the gym feel less like a community and more like a place where you're being watched and punished for being friendly.

This kind of gatekeeping and selective enforcement kills the positive atmosphere. If trainers feel threatened by gym-goers talking to each other, that’s their issue — not ours.

I expected better and gym members deserve more.

They break down they fix them after years of them continuing to break down you think they would replace them just like most gyms but no. Very disappointed with this location. Used to come to this gym about a year ago. Recently moved back to the area and started visiting again. ALWAYS packed no matter the time of day. The patrons have no respect for the gym and make it the way it is , but staff enable this to happen.

Staff does not even look up at the desk. They are either on their phone in la la land or somewhere to the side clowning around.

Weights all over the place. Literally nothing is ever put back where it belongs. I’ve found dumbbells upstairs or even in the locker room. Come on ??!!

Equipment is in rough shape with some machines broken or not working correctly for days on end.

Cleaning is fair at best. Nice they have a watered down bottle of sanitizer as you walk out since the machines are gross.

Place has really gone downhill and is managed completely incompetent. I have kept going because it’s close to home but will be looking for something else and cancelling soon. You all need to do better.

I’ve tried YouFit PPines, Taft and Davie, and every single one of them is better than this LA Fitness.
StairMaster here seems to be 20 years old, and never seen maintenance ever. You can barely use this machine without bumping your hear on their dirty ceiling.
The bathroom smells like a dead body has been in the locker room for at least a year. The entire place is dirty.
The dumbbell racks never have 10 to 25’lbs… like ever.
The machines that break stay broken with a sign attached to it.
They don’t even have a hip thrust machine or any of the new equipment.
And they want to charge full price and initiation fee for this dump.

Working on my 90 day shred which will mean being at the gym at least 5 days a week, next 3 months from mid-July. I thought there’d be a “summer respite”) on numbers, but.. Everyday is BUSY at LA Fitness, even at 6am.

I've slowly watched this gym turn into a neglected garbage dump over the last 20 years. LA fitness still charges some of the highest membership prices in the fitness space and this club doesn't even come close to reflecting those prices. The outside of the building hasn't been cleaned since Bush was in office and it is visibly deteriorating, the machines are constantly broken and poorly maintained, the free weights must get tossed into Narnia never to be seen again, and the smoothie shop inside has the customer service level of a concentration camp.

I read the reviews. Lets clear up a few things. The gym is clean. However the machines are old and broken. I started my workout on the stair master. The first one was broken. The second one didn't say broken but when I got on it, the stairs started falling. I selected a level and it would spike up and down, even though it was supposed to be a steady pace. Machine 3 the wire are hanging out and there is no phone holder. Machine 4 the wires are hanging out and there is no phone holder. So not only are the machines broken but they are a safety hazard. Went to the front desk and they said ok, did absolutely nothing. For the price, la fitness you need to do better.

Spacious, clean, modern, well equipped gym with a large cardio as well as weights area! I was in the Pembroke Pines area at nearby Pembroke Gardens Mall to attend a meeting of the National Association of Wedding Professionals since I'm a Wedding DJ in Miami and Pembroke Pines as well as all of South Florida. There's a sauna as well as steam room, and I enjoyed my experience at the smoothie and snacks store. It was a pleasure to work out here!

I had a bad experience walking out the gym once and spotted the GM screaming from the front desk telling 2 customers that they are banned from the gym and must leave. The 2 clients looked confused and walked out. I bet they are still being charged their membership yet not allowed in the gym... I didn't think yelling was very professional, especially in public. Not sure why the general manager would take this approach and treat others in this manner. I also had another incident with the same manager and he did not accommodate for my guest. When one is in a high position I believe they should represent the establishment in a positive manner, especially with loyal clients that have been attending the gym for years. Very low performance on his end and lack of communication and empathy. Hope LA Fitness does something so clients walk in and are treated fairly and receive a warm greeting. Very disappointing and I am currently shopping around for another gym.

Experience is bad! Shower drain can't flow, and for a long time swimming pool is closed.
I recently called the front desk and froze my membership for a month. When I defroze and saw my credit card was charged almost same as the amount as I am active. Another account was not frozen. The explanation of the proration is totally illogical! But overlapped with the normal charge and freezing charge. I froze my membership for a whole month, just save $4, so ridiculous!

I was transported here by my Insurance, Simply. I don’t own a car. I went to this one because of their whirlpool. Needed to submerge my poor shoulder in hot water and their whirlpool is excellent! So is the Olympic sized pool. HOT Sauna and Steam Room. My 2nd time here. Why only one star? THEY ALLOW PATRONS INSIDE both the Steam Room and Sauna with clothes and shoes!!!!!
I have been using Steam&Sauna Rooms for over 60 years. Was taught the only option was a towel, otherwise a bathing suit and rubber flip flops was the attire allowed. Today I saw a woman go into the Steam room with a track suit and sport shoes FULL OF STREET DIRT. There were others who went in with street shoes not only she.This happens in ALL of their locations. This is NOT SANITARY OR HEALTHY. Their failure to TEACH their Patrons the correct protocol for using these facilities is simply disturbing. When I complained to an Attendant he only answered « things change. » Really? At least there were no women wearing perfume and makeup something else that happens. Writing a strongly worded email to Corporate, demanding an explanation of why this is allowed. I go there to get healthy and detox, not to inhale street dirt in someone’s shoes!

I had a really bad experience since day one. I requested my 3 day pass to go see if I really like it and the first person that talked to me was very disrespectful. His name is Sebastian, I understand that they have to try to sale you the membership, and he insisted many times, going down the price every time. I told him many times that I was not going to get anything that day because I need to know if I'll like it or not. But that was not enough for him, he continued to insisted until I said...I also have to talk to my husband to make that decision....OMG he jumped on me and asked " why do you need to ask your husband? " I couldn't believe it!!!!! I stand up and told him that's not of your business!! Then went to the front desk and ask for the manager, I told her everything but she really didn't care too much. All she said was" I'll show you around ". Never apologize... Sebastian never activated my code and I had to go back and asked him to please activated my pass so I could go and do a zumba class that I wanted to try. I even asked Sebastian to do not contact me, he didn't care he call me again the next day to make me another offer. Because I didn't wanted to talked to him another guy call me, his name is Samir. Samir told me that Sebastian was one of the managers from that location...I could not believe it...and he couldn't give me the same offer because if was not a manager. The next day Samir call me and gave me an offer, I need one that I can use in different locations because of my job. Samir offer me 25 dollars for down, and 29.99 a month, not contract. I said ok..that sounds good. I finish my 3 days yesterday and texted Samir and said, I want to get the membership that you offer me and he said that I could go today and get it with him. Because I don't want to talk to Sebastian,.... I texted Samir today and now he said that the promotion that he offer me ended yesterday....OMGGGGGGGGGGGG. he said he didn't check the promotion yesterday, he saw that it was until today. I really have not idea how this corporation works, and how do they train their employees but they definitely need to make some huge changes. Now I waste my time and have to start looking for another gym. I am very disappointed.

Left this gym after about a year. Called to cancel my membership and was told it could not be done over the phone. Went to the gym in-person and was told the manager was not there, so the membership could not be canceled but that it could be done online. I was a member at the north Miami Beach location before I moved to Davie. I’ve been at this location for about a year and I finally closed my account which is dam near impossible without you going into the gym. The reason this place got 3 stars is cause for starters no one puts weights back and management clearly is ok with weights being all over the place such as the cardio area upstairs, sauna and racquet ball courts. Trying to get a quick worked out is impossible because half there clients are recording videos and on social media so any machine you want is generally occupied at least for 20 mins. Lastly walking into this gym you have zero motivation to get a good workout due to all the issues management fails to stay on top of. Oh and I forgot, god forbid you need any accessories to use on the cable machine it’s like a fight or an Easter egg hunt to find them. Once again lack of organization and not holding any of the people who work out accountable for putting stuff back where they belong so others can find them. This gym is filled with Instagram fitness clowns who aren’t serious about working out and spend more time in the gym taking up space for the people who take there fitness and health serious. Good luck to anyone who can tolerate this kind of gym setting.

The rust and lack of maintenance of the machines make any adjustment a nightmare. The free weights area is always a mess. Are you starting and you need a 10lb dumbells? Good luck. There is only one pair and it can be on the second floor, at the personal training area or around the stairs.
The classes are really good but the machines and free weights are a complete disappointment for me. I prefer to search for a better place.

I usually don’t write reviews unless they are really good, but I had the worst experience with management and false promoting. I upgraded my membership with the promise of receiving a one month refund. After calling every week for almost 2 months I finally received it. I was constantly told it was in progress and I found out after calling LA fitness management that it wasn’t until two months later they put it in their system for me to receive a refund. If you need to sign up or upgrade do it somewhere else. My original LA fitness in Coral Springs on University was able to actually help me after one conversation on the spot. His name is Max if you need someone competent to assist you. The membership director and club manager don’t assist you at all and they constantly lie about what they are going to do. Thank God for Max and his competence and veracity.

The front desk staff is unprofessional and rude. I have a family membership, but I've been trying multiple times to cancel my own membership while keeping the rest of the family's intact.

Each time I reach out, there's always an excuse. The first time I called, they told me I needed to come in person. When I explained that I work full days, they suggested coming in on Saturday. However, when I arrived on Saturday, they informed me there was no manager available and that I'd need to return during the week—something that's impossible for me before 5:00 PM.

Once you mention wanting to cancel, their demeanor completely changes! Today, when I asked the front desk staff to write down the manager's phone number since I couldn't hear it correctly from her, she became angry and defensive. Instead of helping me quietly, she chose to repeat the numbers loudly for everyone around us to hear! There's a complete lack of professionalism and care here, leading me to seriously consider canceling not just my membership but potentially the entire family membership as well.

I would like to file a complaint against another gym member that has been constantly harassing me, and making me feel uncomfortable. Today, August 8,29th I was on my favorite stairmaster and like always, this guy comes and stands beside me, making facial expressions without looking away. I ignored it at first, but after feeling the pressure from him for over 20 minutes I started to become anxious and my heart raced even more. Eventually, after another 5 minutes, the guy throws his bag and water bottle at my machine and gives me a mean expression and nods. At this point, I couldn't take it and went to complain at the front where I told the gentleman what was going on and told them multiple times to check the cameras for validation. This occurred from 6:40PM To 7:15PM and it's always an issue when I go do cardio at this gym. All the other times I've ignored it, but after feeling threatened when he threw his stuff, I had to speak up. All this can be validated if you watch the videos.

By far the worst experience in a gym. The guy who works the front counter at 5am seem to hate his job. My husband brought me in with a guest pass. When we arrived to be checked in, the guy was sitting at the counter not paying attention, watching videos on social media. He didn't even notice we walked in. I had to say hello goodmorning. I told him I have a guest pass. He aggressively said, you have to come back at 8am when the sales team is here. I said, what does my guest pass have to do with the sales team. (Money hungry gym) he said I can't activate it. I told him that I had a guest pass before and he wrote my info down including my driver's license info and pass number and let me in. He said, he must be broke the rules and just did it for that day. I told him we'll that's a big problem because I need to get in with my pass and he never informed me he was doing me a favor. He even told me to come around the desk to prove he can't activate it. It was a complete nightmare he got loud a few time. Sending us out the door in embarrassment. It's not what you say it how you say it. He was so unprofessional and RUDE. The sales team want to harrass the guess by signing up for the gym during their pass, that the WORST FORM of marketing. And they need better customer service

New machines! Not too crowded but only one of each of the good machines. Not enough ab machine variety, the suspended ab crunch was NA. Lots of cardio. Lots of pulleys. One unique thing about this location: they have a push-mower-like thingy with turf in the PT area! They have obviously renovated the place so I have changed my review since last time but what bugs me about this and other So Flo LAF's is that they have all these space wasting things and amenties that nobody uses while the space for machines and other weight training stuff is cramped and machines are few!! E.g the 4 raquetball courts go unused well as all those sales cubicles, the bikes on the first floor, and a lot of space on the 2nd floor. Add more leg/ab machines and benches and weights instead of trying to be all fancy!!. Even the pool is a waste of space and the large locker rooms with saunas, if u ask me. Also just saw a man cleaning the locker room. Is it that hard to find cleaners of 2 genders? The little "man working" sign is not sufficient 🤦🏻‍♀️

I want to WARÑ everyone about this LAFitness I have been follow TWICE home by three or four people in a car the first time I remember when I was leaving and I see four guys staring at me then getting into their car which followed me home thank God we have a live person at our guard house in our development. The perps drove through the gate and didn't stop to ask for someone just turned around. The second time this happened on Friday they drove up to the residents gate and didn't know they could not get in without going through the guard gate so I'm telling everyone when you leave the gym be vilagiant because you got creeps following you. Both time's this happened on a Friday.

Estoy en este gym desde que comenzó el año, y la verdad me encanta el sitio, las clases y los equipos están bastante aceptables, me gusta el personal training, sin embargo el señor encargado de vender las afiliaciones, específicamente el que se sienta en el puesto de adelante que es hasta incapaz de decir su nombre es una persona bastante mal educada y agresiva, te detiene en la entrada como si fueras un delincuente y te quiere estar revisando siempre la suscripción, hoy particularmente cuando nos detuvo en la puerta fue bastante agresivo, no está mal que chequeen tus credenciales o que quieran verificar que no estemos usando credenciales de otra persona pero deberían cuidar la forma en la que proceden al respecto particularmente ese señor, mil gracias a la gente del front desk que intervino a nuestro favor y nos permitió entrar a nuestra clase de baile sin más demoras, buenas tardes

My go to LA Fitness in the Pembroke Pines/ Miami Lakes area. I do have a closer one, but I'm 100% certain that this one has the hottest sauna in all of South Florida. I've tried them all, and THIS one wins the cake. I also love that they have a steam room. Not EVERY LA has one, so when I'm in my recovery phase, I like to come here to switch between sauna and steam room. Staff is friendly, people don't bother, it's a great gym!

I activated a free 3-Day pass on 1/23/24 with the agent I was directed to, showed ID, and received a tour; with all intentions of getting a membership upon the last day. I swam; and took advantage of all amenities. I am dealing with an injury and really need the indoor pool to exercise.

I came today, at 5am which wouldve been the second day of my pass. I approached the desk and said I began a 3-day pass yesterday and I wanted to swim . I was told by the front desk guy that I needed a code, I said I dont think I got a code but , I told him let me go to my car and look through my emails to find this code. After 10 min of looking through every email i possibly wouldve entered for the pass; i found nothing. However I did have proof showing automated texts about confirming my appt the prior day. I walked back in and showed him these texts and said I never received a code. He began huffing and puffing; rolling his eyes; and shaking his head in an unnecessary and rude manner. Saying I needed a code. I said well sir I didnt receive one. He said well this wont work, and started accusing me of lying; asking where I activated the pass and by who.. etc. His tone started to get extremely irritated and I was tired of the over the top annoyance gestures so I said fine ill leave and started to walk out.

He said no no no come back, and I said sir I dont have a code, youre being rude and its 5am I am leaving. If you cant get me in without a code why am I here??

Once I said rude he popped off and started going off, talking bout hes not rude he’s simply doing his job and that cameras are watching him etc etc. At this point people are watching because of his volume. I said sir I understand you are doing your job but all the unnecessary irritation gestures are rude. Its that simple. There’s a way to present information and this is not it. Anyways I walked out saying stuff under my breath and he proceed to go back and forth with me until I exited.

I believe it was computer or human error that I didnt receive a scan code; either way other things showing proof of the pass shouldve been used to allow me into the gym. I literally just wanted to swim. I wasted my early morning dealing with this. The customer service at LA fitness is horrible and they must do better. You chose to have a job where you must be there at 4:45am; so be polite even if its early

Customer service is clearly not among their values. Today, on Saturday, I arrived at 6:15 AM. All lights were on, doors were open, and the lady at the front desk saw me walking in and scanning my QR code to check in. A few minutes later, an elderly guy approached me, asking what I was doing when I was clearly working out. He started threatening me with calling the cops, accusing me of ‘trespassing.’ I understand it was outside their regular hours of operation. The problem lies in the way they communicate with their clients/members. I don’t know who hires/supervises these people, but something needs to be done about it.

If you guys are closed, you shouldn’t let people walk in and scan their member’s QR code to threaten them with calling the cops and accusing them of trespassing later. Or maybe keep the doors closed.

New look, I posted this 4 years ago. And the place has gone down hill ever since, place is discussingly dirty. Half the machines don't work properly. Save your money and go to the new Planet Fitness on Pines Boulevard or the UFC Gym stay away from this place

You could not pay me to ever step foot in this gym ever again. I am so serious. I tried a guest pass and was immediately hounded by Gio to sign up. I immediately disclosed that I already have a gym membership elsewhere, and just came to work out with a friend. Still, I wanted to try out LA Fitness to see if I'd join or stick with my current gym. Cool, let him know I can't commit since obviously I'm in a contract with my current gym. He kept my ID and started hounding me again when I about to leave. He again started the sales pitch and magically had a special the next day...and the next day during my guest pass trial. I flat out said no. I cannot breach my contract or else I'd pay some unpleasant fees. "You know that don't you, you work at a gym don't you?..." I told him and stood silent.

The audacity to then ask me how much it would be to cancel and join them right away...I cannot make this up. Again, stood my ground and said no. "Oh, they only charged me $100 last time to cancel years ago." Am I speaking hieroglyphics? No means NO. "Which gym do you like better?" Brutally told him my gym since we have dedicated training and lifting racks. There's barely one or two smith machines here. It was not it.

Today I get a call and it's him again. Asked me AGAIN if I can join and I said didn't I say I can't for the millionth time. "Oh sorry my notes...did you say your contract ends soon?" I said not till next year and then tells me he'd give me a call then. Absolutely not. Blocked. Crossing my boundaries and repeatedly ignoring my stance is mad disrespectful and deceitful.

If this is his or this employer's job method of trying to sign folks up, then I'm sorry but y'all truly persuaded me to never try la fitness again. I will glady stay at my current gym.

Lost my ID at the gym and it was found by Santiago. Santiago ensured me that the ID was in a secure location and will be ready for me to pick up. When I finally had the opportunity to stop by and pick up my ID, Santiago was not there and a gentleman named John stepped in to more so intervene with the situation, rather than help it. Although he did somewhat attempt to look for the ID in Santiago’s absence, he cried and complained the entire time like a man child. I felt bad for him being that his life must be on the edge for him to get worked up over something so minuscule. Today, I went back again to make a second attempt to find the ID and approach a gentleman by the name of Mike. Mike wanted to be helpful, however, John came in and again to intercept the situation and refused to be helpful. It was the most awkward situation ever for something so simple. Mike even offered other solutions to attempt the find the ID but big nerdy John shut those down as well. I eventually was able to get in touch with Santiago and being that he is a stand up guy, he called me to come by and pick up the ID. The entire transaction with Santiago took less than 3 minutes. I finally got my ID and John is probably punching air knowing that Santiago actually made someone’s day. 5 stars for Santiago, 1 star for Mr. Big For Nothing.
