Was good. Owner was pleasant and talkative. Bought a Hawkwind DVD with Arthur Brown on it. Great find. Enjoyed it.
Owner is a Blackmore fan. Loves Captain Beyond. Can't be that bad if you enjoy those two greats. He has a wealth of knowledge, or course, and enjoyed sharing his love for music and his experiences. A good visit. People love that dialog. It's like sharing an aspect of a love we have within us that is kindled by music. Our own personal history connected through sound. Sharing life through our music connections. That's something we could use more of in this present world which needs help in relearning how to interact with one another again. There was once a time everyone waited for a music release. When that day came we'd sit around and put on that record, pass around the cover checking out the liner notes and lyrics if included and immerse ourselves in what was unfolding and coming through that needle. We did this together as a group. Maybe not everytime but sooner or later it was something that we would do as a group. That's not happening so much today. People are isolated looking at a screen. Hypnotized.

Like Zappa said, " Music Is The Best!".

People need the Record Stores. They need the Book Stores. These are places to gather, share, learn and grow as a community. Something that can be experienced around other human beings. Where we are not being reduced to the "I" aspect of being.

Rode my bike to this gym, which I had just purchased and it was stolen off the bike rack while locked up. Went to the front desk and they were nice about it but they have no cameras on them - in talking with other members it happens a lot there. Would be nice if they would invest in a camera to protect their customers!!

This gym is great! It is always clean, the staff are VERY friendly, and it is never too busy that you have to wait on any piece of equipment. Todd, a personal trainer, is a 10/10! He is so knowledgeable and kind! I love working with him and he is always prepared! I would recommend him to anyone interested in signing up for personal training here.

This gym has potential with its spacious layout and the convenience of a covered parking garage. Unfortunately, the frequent cancellation of group fitness classes — often without any advance notice — really brings the experience down. On multiple occasions, I’ve checked the app, shown up for class, only to find no instructor or a last-minute note on the door. It’s frustrating and wastes time, especially when this issue seems specific to this location. Management needs to improve scheduling consistency or at least update the app reliably so members can plan accordingly and opt for other nearby locations that are better run.

Eliminated Cycle and Yoga classes... their website is very deceptive as it lists "cycling classes", but cycling was eliminated in 2024 as were most Yoga classes... check their class schedule to see there are none. People have gone to competitors who actually have class !

David usually keeps unshelled pistachios in his desk which is good for after a workout.

He used to get shelled ones. Distracting him with a task so I can get to them AND needing to pry open the shells before he gets back, especially after a long workout… It’s too much effort and time. I couldn’t open them, eat, hide the shells, and get back around the desk in time.

When he gets almonds that is ok too but only the unsalted kind. I need to watch my gains so I can’t have the seasoned ones he gets.

I've worked out in several facilities throughout the years and must state that this one is my favorite. The staff is exceptionally friendly, the gym is clean, the layout is functional, and the parking is excellent. Furthermore, the equipment appeals to my preferences, and I appreciate the layout.
I would have given it six stars if there was an additional leg press machine and a belt squat machine. :-)

Stopped by to check out the gym and was introduced to a charming lovely young lady named Rose. After touring the facility I decided to become a member. She clearly goes above and beyond to make all aspects of the membership agreement clear and she in no way makes you feel obligated to join. Rose was very helpful and made signing up easy and fun.

This gym isn't so great. They cancelled the kid's area and only gave us a week notice. Plus, they showed inappropriate movies to the kids and the staff were stoned while working with the kids sometimes (this was admitted to me by said staff).

I came there 30 minutes before they closed. The gym room has no staffs, only the old cleaner guy. When I check in, I know they will closed 9:00pm already that’s why I told him, I come for the sauna just around 20 minutes. The old cleaner guy makes the mad face and the angry void on me. He told me the club will close in 20 minutes it wasn’t right. Then, I said I will leave before 9:00pm, don’t worry, but he still keeping say “YOU HAVE TO GET OUT THE DOOR BEFORE 9:00PM MAN”. WTH, I paid $42/ month for you guys company every month with out late man. Then now I get the service like that. Highly recommended, the manager should do something, because I am not go there for free.

Everybody at the desk was really friendly. I'm back in Chicago at my Quads gym, but they had a good assortment of equipment. I wish they had 2.5lb plates as I do a lot of pyramid training, so I was having to go up 10 lbs on arms and shoulders. There was also no roman chair for the lower back. I actually set this club up when it was Lifestyles Family Fitness on the IT side, and we had 2.5 lbs plates. Why they got rid of them, I have no idea? Another thing is nobody seems to rerack their weights. At Quads, you would lose your membership. Nobody should have a workout cleaning up after you. You're there to work out, so put your weights back.

This Gym was a Perfect fit during my time I spent in st Pete. Staff was always so friendly and welcoming - the equipment as well as the cleanliness of the gym was always held to a high standard. Due to traveling for work when it came to end my membership it was extremely easy (which in my past experience with gyms) was not always easy but Amber was extremely helpful and it took all of about 5minutes. If I am ever back in the area for long term I will definitely be joining again.

I’ve been going to this gym for over ten years. It is clean, has a nice layout, the spin classes are great because of Instructor/Trainer Michelle Peters.

I need to update this review. As you can see I’ve been using this location for a long time. About a month ago a new manager showed up and decided to make some changes. I’m assuming she believes she’s smarter than everyone who has come before her and she believes that she will be the agent of change that brings this location back to its glory days. She’s so smart that she’s made changes to a space she doesn’t use, unless she identities as a man and is using the men’s locker room when I’m not here, if that’s the case then I stand corrected. What I’m not wrong about is her ridiculous decision to remove the benches in the men’s locker room. The very benches that we men use to change after our grueling workouts, or to sit around and shoot the shiz while we’re getting ready for the day. The good news is at the end of the day the benches will return and this agent of change will be discarded just like all of her predecessors and the very benches she removed.

I found this location on a whim since I had been looking for a new gym. I've gone to LA Fitness locations before and really enjoy the equipment. This location is no different.
This location is huge, it is two stories and has an elevator to accommodate an older crowd. I used the guest pass to feel out the environment before signing up. I found the gym to be spacious, clean, and up to date. It gets pretty hot inside since the building is facing the street, but I enjoyed people watching through the windows and working up a good sweat.
There are a variety of machines, and multiple machines of each type so I didn't have to wait for anyone to finish working out. I typically workout between 8-11 AM and the gym is pretty empty. There are a few people working out but since it is so large I don't feel overwhelmed or like I'm being watched. The sauna in the women's locker room is nice too and incredibly hot. I really enjoyed sitting in there after a long workout.
I was helped by Rose with signing up. She was very friendly and not pushy. The front desk ladies were nice as well, and smiled and welcomed me each time I came in. Overall, I was very happy I found this location and highly recommend. LA Fitness is typically a pricier gym but this location is clean and worth the money.

I have been going to this gym location for about 2-3 months now and overall it's been a good experience. I signed up in Clearwater so I haven't had much experience with the staff but they seem approachable and friendly and usually say hello at the very least.

Any issues I've had have just been getting used to different equipment than the Clearwater location. There are enough multiples of machines that I don't have to wait too long for any equipment if it's busy.

I have seen other reviews about AC issues and I have noticed a few days where it's warmer than others but it's not the norm that I've noticed.

Overall I've enjoyed my time at LA Fitness and would recommend based on my experience.

I’ve been to many LA Fitness’s around the country and this is by far the worst one.. anyone from corporate should be embarrassed that this is open. Outdated equipment, lazy employees, dirty amenities, and lifeless environment.. save your money and time, I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone under 55yrs old :)

Working with Raphael has been life changing for me. I was experiencing a blockage when it came to working out due to rheumatoid arthritis that I’ve never deal with before. She taught me the proper stance and different techniques to use to help elevate my pain, which has help me feel more confident to workout without causing damage to my knees. She’s my biggest supporter and always motivates me to push through but with gentle encouragement.
I finish every session feeling stronger than before!!!

I've been a member at LA Fitness for a little over 5 years now, and I can't say enough about the great staff at this location, specifically Rose and Shay. Every time I walk in the gym, I'm acknowledged with a warm welcome. They are always willing to go out of their way to help, whether it's offering workout tips, or providing extra motivation. Their positive energy is contagious and creates an environment that members look forward to coming to the gym. I would highly recommend them both with my highest praises. LA Fitness on 4th St has helped me get into better condition over the last year and I’m really grateful. I particularly love the Pilates and yoga classes. Not only are the classes taught well, the atmosphere is welcoming. As a friend of mine put it, LA Fit is a true no judgement zone. Rose walked me through the sign up process and she always greets me with a warm smile- and willingness to teach me how to use a new piece of equipment! LA Fit is a great option for those looking for a smaller, clean and well organized gym.

Even though I have a membership at another gym in town, this LA Fitness is my favorite place to work out at.
They recently installed new machines, the place is huge so it never feels too crowded and staff is super friendly. Shay, Rose and Alex are simply awesome: welcoming, always available to chat and give support throughout the week.

I have been coming to this location for over 10 years now. This gym has always been my favorite of all in Pinellas County. But today at 930p the front desk worker locked the doors and wouldn't let me in. This was very disappointing I have come around this time on multiple occasions. I understand the gym closes at 10p but I have never been one of those members that has held the staff from leaving on time. It should be my choice as a paying member to use the last 30 minutes of the gym being open as I please as long as I'm out at the time the gym closes. I love this location I go out of my way to come here. Unfortunately after today I will start going to a new location this was rude and uncalled for behavior

I've been coming here for 3 years now. Beats Crunch or other overwhelmingly crowded gyms. And for the monthly negotiated price I pay since it temporarily got bought out by Esporta but then reconverted back to an LA is what keeps me coming back. I was about to bounce right before they got new equipment. It's never too crowded, there's typically enough weights and space to move around. My biggest gripe is CLEAN THE GYM. The locker rooms reek, stretching rooms and walls stink and look awful from never being cleaned. Rarely anyone reracks their weights or they go missing in far away places. And if there is cleaning going on it's at 6pm during the gym rush which makes zero sense. On top of that, the stretching room needs to be reorganized. You have two mid-size mats that one person takes up so even though its a room that can accommodate a handful of people, there's only a little bit of space left between the wasteful 1 person mats to actually stretch, leaving others nowhere to go. It'd be nice if other classes were offered at reasonable hours too. And if the gym extended its weekend hours.

Having been a member of LA Fitness for over 20 yrs, used hundreds of the their facilities in over 30 different states, as well as belonging to Life Time Fitness, and other gyms, I’ve NEVER encountered what I experience at this location: setting the max time on the treadmills for only 20 minutes. I’m absolutely floored, disgusted, and pissed off. I had been planning on using the treadmill for only 40 minuets, but because of this genius move decided to use the treadmill for over an hour. LA Fitness is the only franchise to have a policy of placing time limits on their cardio equipment. This does nothing to get members to get off of the equipment. It’s only annoys them and feel worse about the faculty. There is one consistently with all LA Fitness locations though: really bad management.
