I’m currently visiting from Berlin and was looking for a good gym while staying here in Florida — and I couldn’t be more impressed! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive. Danny took the time to show me around and made sure I felt comfortable right away. The gym itself is outstanding — top-notch equipment, clean and well-organized training areas, and a great atmosphere that makes you want to push yourself. You can tell that quality, cleanliness, and member satisfaction are taken seriously here.
I train regularly back home in Berlin and have tried many gyms, but this one truly stands out as one of the best I’ve ever visited. If you’re traveling and looking for a professional, friendly, and well-maintained fitness studio, I can highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Florida!

I agree with the reviews stating that the managers have bad attitudes. I attend LA Fitness in Miami, but I visited this location while investigating a car accident involving one of their employees. The manager, Danny, had already informed me that the video footage would be available for review between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM.
When I arrived, Danny was not present, but Stewart was. Another manager named Caesar told me that I would need a subpoena to review the footage, which I believe was the result of racial profiling due to me being a Black woman. If a subpoena were actually required, I’m sure that both Danny and Stewart would have known that. Funny thing is I was hired by the insurance company of their employee, meaning it was for HER benefit.

If there was ever a gym that you don’t get your money’s worth, it will be this location to LA Fitness. The location is great and the entrance is very clean but the rest needs to be improved.
The weights and different handles for cables machines are all over the place. You cannot find a dumbbell in the right spot.
The staff instead of walking around to clean or supervise, are all chilling at the front and having a great time. To each their own but poor representation of the LA Fitness brand.

This gym is well located and has a lot of space, however many machines does not work and you always have to wait to use them.

Also is not very clean and staff at the reception not very friendly. I run into Daniel who said he was the manager, he made the experience to one of my guest very unpleasant.

He shows no management skills and condescendant attitude. Completely changed the perception and willigness to renew membership at this location. I regret to bring guest or recommend anyone to join this gym

Interesting layout. Cardio downstairs, weights upstairs.
Machines stay dusty, the floors and counters are clean. They could clean out the air vents as they are also very dusty.
Poor gym etiquette from members (dumbbells all over the place, plates the same)
They could get new/more yoga matts. It seems like people take them home, the matts they stay behind are torn.

Just visited LA Fitness Sawgrass and I love this gym. I was met by Danny who did a great job of telling me about their equipment, facilities, etc. They have a lot of equipment and the right kind of equipment that is spread out on at least two floors. Listen this place use to be great and now it's crap! The place is falling apart. You pay a maintenance fee and the weights are all over the place, no paper towels in the bathroom, place is just a mess. Water fountains falling apart upstairs, machines are rusty and squeeking, bathroom stalls have has plastic wrapped around them for weeks now. Just horrible. I put 3 pics up only. But I could of put alot more. My suggestion...go pay 10 bucks at you fit or planet fitness. Save yourself 30. You're paying premium prices here and getting Temu!!

I've been a member of this Gym on Sawgrass for about a year I mostly got it for my teenage son, now his off to college I do not need this membership anymore so I went to cancel and here's where the ordeal starts, I went around 7:30pm and was told that cancellations are only done during the day yet they were doing a new membership at that time, so I went the next day.
Next day which is the exact day I'm writing this review I showed around 11:00am I approached the guy at the front and asked him that I needed to cancel my membership and he said that only Stewart (Stuart) can do cancelations that he will help as soon as he shows up to his desk, 10 minutes pass and no Stewart, 15 minutes pass and no Stewart, so approached the guy in the front desk again and i asked if he can reach Stewart and he told me that when you got to go, you got to go that Stewart was taking a dump...he literately said that and that after taking a dump he was going to take a shower, so that pissed me off I told him that all they were doing is just stalling, I got loud on the Gym and said exactly all that he just told me so that everybody in the gym will know that the only person in charge of the place its been taking a dump for 15 minutes and then will take a shower, as soon as i did that Stewart showed up really quick told the front guy to leave and cancel my membership in less than a minute. Don't let this people bully they will do the impossible to get you mad so that you can leave.

During our phone call, Steward exhibited unacceptable behavior, verbal yelling, disrespectful tone, refused to listen and unilaterally canceled my subscription without consent after unauthorized charges. I felt disrespected, and unvalued as a costumer. This individual's behavior raises serious red flags like uncontrolled anger issues, lack of professionalism, disregard for customer rights and discriminatory behavior. I implore management to investigate this incident thoroughly, take immediate action to address Steward's behavior and ensure employees are trained to provide respectful service to prevent future incidents. As a customer, I expect respectful treatment, professional communication and empathy and understanding. Steward's behavior was unacceptable, and I hope the company takes this seriously and addresses the issue promptly. I would appreciate a response from management regarding actions taken to resolve this matter. Please acknowledge my concern and take concrete steps to prevent similar incidents.

Very clean place to visit, even though the man's room did need a little bit of cleaning at the moment. All the equipment is properly placed and stacked with plenty of machines and free weights to choose from, not to mention the jacuzzi, the swimming pool and the sauna. I almost forgot the snacks and shake bar, offering milkshakes, protein bars, etc. Overall a great experience, be back real soon!!!!

I had a fantastic experience working with Galen, the gym manager at LA Fitness! He went above and beyond to help me figure out my protein intake, not just by numbers but by portion sizes, which made it so much easier to understand and manage. The pool is always closed or broken. The heater never works, the lights are off. It has been like this for 8 or more years.
The lights above the pool have been turned off since January 2023.
The lights inside the pool have not been replaced for 10yrs.
3 or more of the men's showers are broken.
The manager promised new lockers in 2018 and never delivered.

Locker rooms in general don't smell great but the bathrooms at this location smell like they haven't been cleaned in months. The smell of urine is so pungent and overpowering it's hard to even set foot inside one of the stalls. Time to figure this out, it's been months and it's getting worse. Oh and the toilets leak all over the floors and there have been the same machines not working for months. I blame everything on management.

In the past 10 years I have been a member of several gyms around South florida from family owned to commercial gyms. Health & Fitness is a pilar in my families lifestyle and mental health. LA Fitness Sunrise/Sawgrass is staff and facility is by far my favorite experience in all of my years traveling to gyms in the area. I am loyal to my training hour and enjoy the community that has been created. The front desk staff warm and welcoming. The kid care staff are amazing. The janitorial Crew are detail oriented and helpful. Everyone in the sales team is also a pleasure to communicate with. I ALWAYS reccomend this LA in particular because of how much I love going there everyday.

As I was walking in to sign up on a Sunday. Christian an employee that helps with activating memberships comes out the car to come back in before leaving to assist me. I felt bad for holding him up but he told me other wise and made me feel very welcomed. He made the whole process easy and knowledgeable. 11AM Yoga class was very disappointing. Instructor appeared right at start time, She did not introduce herself, or give a brief safety talk, (everyone works at a different pace, feel free to modify, etc, etc). She jumped right in to advanced poses (not traditional yoga postures). I tried to keep up but was not going to hurt myself ( I taught for 12 years)my friend hurt his shoulder and had to just relax for the rest of class. It’s obvious the the instructor is exceptionally limber as she mentioned that she practiced Martial Arts. This class description should have been labeled advanced or Boot Camp Yoga.

This location in particular seems to allow the dreaded "I am working out on all 4 pieces of equipment by myself, and no, I wont be done for a long time" nincompoop. You know the person. Lacks empathy, has a complete disregard for other people, lacks respect for themselves and the other members. Unless you like getting screamed at for asking if someone is done with equipment, you might want to steer clear of this location. It should be called Camp LA Fitness, because you can just camp out on whatever gear crosses your mind and it yours!

The condition of this gym in very poor, especially compared to other LA fitness in the area. Ceiling tiles missing, broken machines, NO MUSIC. Please fix this so I don't have to drive 10 more minutes to another location
