Came in as a guest to workout and was considering becoming a member. Finished my workout with 5 minutes until the gym was closed. I went to the bathroom to gather my belongings and the young blonde front desk girl followed me into the bathroom. She proceeded to stand there and watch me gather my belongings from the locker room with her arms crossed very angry telling me that she has been there since 8 AM and is not going to wait any longer, told me to “hurry up”. She then precedes to follow me out of the front door of the gym. I felt so harassed by this girl. I’m astounded by this behavior and that a company like LA fitness would hire someone with a lack of respect and kindness for others. Disappointing.

I’d like to share a suggestion that I believe could benefit both the gym and its members. I’ve noticed that the sauna is used by less than 1% of our membership. Unfortunately, a portion of those users often leave it in an unsanitary state, which requires extra staff attention and cleaning.

Because the sauna serves so few members while requiring ongoing resources (energy, maintenance, and staff time), I believe the funds might be better invested in areas that directly benefit the majority of members. For example:

Purchasing or upgrading workout equipment that many members rely on daily.

Providing staff recognition or rewards, which would boost morale and enhance member service.

I believe reallocating resources in this way could have a much broader positive impact on member satisfaction than maintaining the sauna.

If there’s hesitation about removing the sauna, perhaps the gym could consider a member survey or even a temporary closure to see how strongly it’s valued. That way, decisions are based on clear feedback and usage.

I am giving you low marks based on the infrared sauna. It was the main reason I joined. It has been years since it was shut down. Limited info on why. Please reactivate or replace the current unit. My cardiologist strongly recommends a sauna.

At least the local fitness management took down the sign that said the sauna was closed due to maintenance.

I have been going to this gym for a couple months now after switching from crunch. I have got to say it has the friendliest staff and is always clean. I had issues with my scan code and the lovely lady named Camryn helped me in no time. Great location and the best gym I have been to in years.

Been going to this location for over two years pretty consistently
Staff on site is great, but there are issues with the facilities and classes
The room dedicated to HIIT has been locked off for a really long time. Same with the child care room. The sauna has not been working for over a year, and the cycle room is now a mess.
A few months back, they canceled all the cycle classes with no warning, and no one who works at the location knows why.
The stretching mats near the cycle room need a deeper cleaning as well.
Finally, despite multiple flyers telling patrons to review the gym on the app, the app does not send the message a member would need to do so. I emailed corporate multiple times about the matter and it was never resolved.
It feels like the corporate heads of LA Fitness are sleeping on a lot of issues that are slowly making the experience at the gym worse and worse.

I’m sure you are as tiered of hearing request to quickly fix the sauna, as I am waiting for it to be fixed. The company response through staff, stating; “there’s an ongoing lawsuits that needs to be resolved before repairs can be serviced only adds to the stress of members——it’s not our responsibly to understand or finance company expenses for a service already sold to us as members—— our understanding as members have gone on way too long, maybe it’s the membership who needs to drive “a law suit” ——please , for the love of God, just fix the sauna!!!! 🤷‍♂️

I do like this gym and location. however i have been going 6 months now and still no suana. im very close to canceling and finding another location due to this issue. sauna is a pivotal piece to working out and recovery. it should be a one stop shop and unfortunately it is not. Really disappointed that the sauna has been non functional for the past 6 months - and even more disappointed that they can’t do anything for members as a courtesy. 1 of the few things that separated this gym from crunch or planet was their sauna. At least there is no charge to cancel the membership so I added a star for that. The front desk person that checks you in was wildly rude about it, basically smiling as she says she has no idea when it will be fixed and no they are not doing anything regarding pricing.

The LA Fitness in Winter Park is in need of a place with accessible Trx Straps and battle ropes. The only part in the gym with those is in Personal Fitness area where you cannot use them unless you pay for a personal trainer. The temperature in the gym for the basketball court/ volleyball court is way too hot to where it causes condensation in the gym. It’s a safety problem because people are slipping and falling on the court and causing them to get hurt. It’s been like this for 2 weeks, i went there on a weekend when it was only five people and there was still the same problem, so it’s not because the amount of people in the gym. They should make or fix the A/C to where it works just as good as the one in the weight area. People are scared to run in there because it’s a big risk hazard .

This location has a large free-weights selection and lots of equipment (it can get quite busy at times, but it’s usually not too difficult to find a spot).
