this gym is sub par. I lived in NJ prior, every lifetime there has at least 3 floors with 2 yoga studios, 2 cycle studios, indoor pool, outdoor pool, every floor had its own purpose. This lifetime is one floor and it’s small. Tampa lifetime doesn’t even have an outdoor pool area. or indoor pool. the staff are amazing. charging clients $200, does not make sense to me. bathrooms are clean but outdated. you either need to switch locations, renovate the whole club, or lower your membership. not worth it. i switched out to another gym.

Best gym in Tampa for professionals, however the cafe is lacking.. the food doesn’t taste great and neither did the shake I got. Some of the sauces they use on the sandwiches are horrible. I’ll have to try it again but I feel like this is the general consensus. my other gripe is they can improve the WiFi signal and bandwidth for their patrons. A cold plunge would be next level! These improvements would elevate this gym to five stars.

This is for the hair salon only. Natasha spent 4 hours putting in foils, washing and toning my hair, only to have my hair come out gray - even after she washed it again. She then sent me home with wet hair, refusing to dry it properly or style it because she didn't have time and she had another customer. It is not the customer's fault when she makes a mistake with the color, takes so much time to put the foils in and doesn't schedule enough time for her guests. We book an appointment and expect to get a professional service. The job should be completed properly - especially when the mistake was hers.

Absolutely love Lifetime and this location is no different. I’ve been a member for many years, in several state, and I’m in Tampa visiting for the week… my club access doesn’t work here but they hooked me and my guest up with some class registrations for the week were in town. Staff is always courteous and helpful, definitely a worthwhile membership.

we wanted to just drink coffee, since the menu was weak, we decided not to drink coffee. Then we asked to go to the toilet, they said it’s impossible if you are not served in this place. What if we are future customers? After such a greeting, I would never advise anyone this place

Only went a couple time a month for 5+ years. Thought I canceled my memebership two months ago…two months later they try to bill me for the amount…not the great concierge style gym I thought I thought it was. Seems like kind of a cheap way to get another couple hundred dollars out of me. Wish I didn’t refer 3 plus people on file. Plus tons more not on file.

I have to agree with everyone else; this is a bronze club at best. The price is too much for the lack of amenities - pool, basketball courts, etc. Corporate does not seem to care to look into the club level either. You would be better off at LA Fitness or EOS for a fraction of the price.
There are nowhere near enough pieces of equipment and the placement of the equipment doesn’t make much sense. I’ve never been to a gym where squat racks aren’t in front of a mirror - are you hoping people injure themselves?
Do we need 20 treadmills? Could we lose some of those and get the equipment people actually use? We only have one leg press, one smith machine, one squat press, etc.
The people that work here are fantastic, the gym and the spa are nice, but not nice enough to justify the price or the price increase.

I used to love the LifeTime Fitness in South Florida, but the one in Tampa is a joke.
Every other LifeTime Fitness is 3 stories, has a basketball court, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and even a field! This one? EXTREMELY small.
This one in Tampa however is just a one story joke. You'll be paying $130/month for a gym that has the same stuff as a $10/month gym.
Do not let the pictures on google deceive you, because there are no pools at this location and other stuff. The picture is what made me go and sign up to this location in the first place. Remove the false advertising pictures please!
My review is based on the one in Tampa, it needs and upgrade to be like the rest of the LifeTime fitness centers around the nation. Why pay a luxury, if you can go around the corner to pay $10/month.
If they change their location and become like the rest, I will rejoin.

Really enjoyed the experience when I joined but as time has passed you realize the management is focused on selling corporate memberships more than meeting the needs of existing clients. Management just canceled one of the most popular classes that is almost always at full capacity to meet the needs of a new corporate client. Management made half-hearted attempts to “make it right” but it’s very clear they had no intention to satisfy a large group of individual members.
The club has very friendly staff members at multiple amenities but management has ordered staff members not to talk to several members of the club. The club markets the various amenities they have but they are hard to enjoy when the client experience is impacted by staff who are instructed to keep quiet.
Thanks for the reply. I have attempted several times to speak with someone about my concerns. Please email me to let me know who I can address my concerns with.

Let me start by saying I’ve been going to lifetime for over 6 years now, started when I lived in Texas and now tampa. Management is awesome, front desk workers are super sweet and literally everyone on staff has been the nicest, but it’s really hard to justify paying $200 a month for a lifetime that has no basketball court, no racquetballs, no pools and the whirlpool has been broken. The lifetime I went to in Texas was a bronze and it had an indoor soccer field and rock climbing wall and a whole bunch of other things. I’d pay $200 for that, but just for a workout center and nothing more it really bothers me. The cafe has been closing super early due to staff shortages and other than the spa that’s pretty much all there is. It’s not even 24/7. This gym is great but really I’d pay $50-$60 a month for it max. I’ve been looking for another gym recently due to the price but I do enjoy lifetime and its always very clean.

The level of nasty here is out of this world. The first picture is of the steam room and she told me she just cleaned it when I complained it was nasty. The door to the steam room never closes fully on Sunday as well. The front staff are dismissive and have zero customer service. I asked Luz to go look at the steam room with me and she said no she is in her nice clothes and doesn’t want to go into that area. I told her OK fine look at the video that I took of the state of the steam room and how nasty it is and she said no. Did not take my concern seriously whatsoever. Horrible customer service. Disgusting. The staff are more concerned about themselves then how the facility is ran and taking care of the customers that come in.

I have been a member since 2010 started in Virginia and moved to Tampa area this property it doesn’t have much of the things that other life time has but the management was pretty good when I first moved to Tampa in 2016, every year they were going down the hill but this time was the worst new management I felt like I was in YMCA The way I was treated because I was 5 minutes late from their 6pm closing time to get out of the locker room constantly talked about me on the microphone for every move I made in the locker room It is totally unacceptable and very poor management. At 5:50 I was talking a shower a young man was jumping over the shower door screaming did you hear we are closing. At 6 ? I am not sure what happened to this place it was my favourite at one point

I love Lifetime! It’s pretty much my 2nd home. The instructors & trainers are top notch, the equipment is always new & clean. The kids care staff cares so much about the kids & provide educational & physical activities for them. The spa is great as well. The head stylist has done my hair for a few years & it now is long & heathy. All of the staff are professional & friendly. It’s a smaller gym so they’re able to make your membership and experience personalized.

I was excited when the club was announced/built but can’t justify the price of the gym. No basketball courts, no racquetball courts, no swimming pool. It simply doesn’t make sense to charge triple what LA fitness is charging for less amenities. I used to go to the SLC location that was both cheaper and had more amenities. Either make the location better or drop the price.

I loved this gym but they cater to the rich. I would pay their prices in a heart beat if they offered noon classes. Since covid their classes are a third as many :( and there's no point in me joining when I can go to LA fitness in 5 different locations within 30 minutes of me with classes around 12 or 5 when I could make it. Also super disappointing they want you to ADDTIONAL money for their pilates class. I'd sign up just for those classes if they came with.

During the COVID pandemic I placed my membership on hold. The club did not communicate the terms of the membership clearly and reinstated the membership 2 months later charging me for 7 months of services not rendered. When I called the club manager, she was rude and condescending and stated that since I didn’t read the fine print it wasn’t their responsibility. There was no offer of compromise and consideration for the misrepresentation. Having been an original member of that gym since 2004, I was shocked and disappointed by their attitude.

This gym, when compared to other gyms of its class is subpar. It is the highest price gym in Tampa and offers the least amount of amenities. Out of the other lifetime facilities I have visited this is the only one that has no pool, racketball, basketball, or tennis courts yet still charges a similar pricing schedule. Since COVID the gym has taken away all of the few convenience factors that were very much appreciated such as laundry services for your locker and toiletries to shower before and after work. However, they did add ridiculous charges like a 3% credit card fee with no ACH capabilities. This was the main contributing factor that inspired me to provide my review. When I contacted them to set up ACH they told me if you do not want to incur a 3% credit card fee you can mail in a check each month. Convenience was not a consideration for a luxury gym when the advisory board approved this change. Imagine a gym that nickels and dimes you for a credit card fee that has branded itself as a luxury exclusive gym. It's as though they are attempting to instantly implode all of the marketing they have worked so hard to achieve.
Positive feedback:
The gym is on Westshore very close to my house (a major reason I continue my membership)
The gym is very cleanThe gym is never busy (most likely because they keep the price so incredibly high when considering what other competitors offer it keeps membership low)
All of the classes are really exceptional. Gregg the yoga teacher there is so fantastic and is the 2nd major contributing factor to keeping my membership.
The cafe when it is open has great food.

Let me explain why this gym gets a 1 star review and why anyone who has been to any diamond club lifetime gym before will gaurentee give this a 1 star review to.
First off, lifetime is the best gym i been to with the exception of tampa location, why?
This gym is rated diamond, but it is NOWHERE close to lifetime diamond standards. So what does that mean?
Your paying diamond pricing, which is a lot more, but not getting ANY of the diamond features.
Let me compare for you.
Every location i been to, but let me use my home location for example Las Vegas in Summerlin.
This is what you get for the SAME price as the one in tampa
Outdoor pool, water slides, lounge areas and lounge chairs, cabannas, full service restaurant outside and full service bar. They walk to you to take your order and give it to you as well.
Tampa location? None of that. Lets continue
Inside? 3 stories, not 1 story.
First floor, indoor pool, indoor lap pool, jacuzzi, sauna, cafe, massage parlor, salon 3 story rock wall room, multiple rock walls, activity center.
Tampa doesnt have pool, lap pool, 3 story rock wall room.
2nd floor. Entire floor is weights and cardio machines with a yoga studio, pilates studio, weight loss customized area, stretch area, and then like a more advanced lift are not sure how to explain it, this area is 4x bigger than tampas workout area and nicer and more things included again.
3rd floor. 2 full size nba basketball courts, multiple rooms (4) for class activites, a day care center for kids that is free, they teach your kids and let them play while you work out. A huge cycling room with about 100 bikes in it, 4 squash ball courts, a more like crossfit/professional athlete room with advanced work out equipment (huge room)
None of that is at tampa
You get the idea.
Tampa location you get 20% of the services of a diamond club, but pay 100% of the price. Its not integral of the gym to do so, its not right, it has many people upset, and should be moved to a gold level gym.
Part of the reason we choose to move here shockingly was to be near a lifetime, as once you go lifetime, you never go back. But after moving here realized this isnt a real lifetime experience and felt betrayed.
Lifetime Do whats right. Charge gold pricing, or at minimum build that second story you said you would do, turn that into work out area with all group activites, yoga studio, ect.. on one floor. and redo first floor to put a pool in it and a basketball court at minimum. Then atleast you will be semi borderline diamond then

First let me say I am a founding member at this gym. Was promised no monthly dues increases, and as founding member would be asked to provide input on classes, and suggestions for the club... All lies... I still go there for the covenience... But the spin bikes, are not all calibrated correctly, if you have a personal trainer be aware you have to give 30 days to cancel, you get renewed automatically, all the tvs on the equipment do not work. If you are in the gym at 5 AM like me, it is dirty... Paper on the floor inside cup holders, equipment on the floor. Nothing like when I first joined. First class, first rate service and Instructors. Still some very good ones left. I think senor leadership at Corporate should sit with some of us founding members on how the Club can get back to where it once was... Here is a picture of a guy drying his clothes in the sauna... Really... A Diamind club... Dont even ask about the WIFI...

I was a Lifetime member in Maryland I was excited to learn Tampa has its very own now. All 3 other facilities I have visited were 3 levels with pools (indoor and outdoor) saunas and plenty of machines. HUGE disappointment walking into this tiny little one level location that didn't even have the floor finishes of a mid tier gym.
Please update the "diamond" rating for those of us that have been to actual luxury gyms. Honestly have seen nicer Gold's gyms and might as well join one of them. Tampa remains without an upscale gym.

Many will complain about anything but don't give a business a chance to make it right by providing the feedback right then and there. Why wait?! When signing up for membership you're made aware if you're not able to access any other clubs due to the type of membership you're signing up for. If another location sometimes lets things slide you really can't put the blame on another location if they're following the rules. This is the longest gym membership I've ever had. I always look forward to taking my out of town guests here. The group fitness classes are great! Keep up the good work!

Fugaysi gym, they get you in with the concept of bringing 12 people per member thru out the year been here for 2 years I have never brought anyone in. First time I do they serve my buddy with a paper saying he can’t train here. So your not allow to work in a group ???? What’s the purpose for you bringing a person in? Is it just for a gym employee to try to upsell them? At least give them 2 weeks before you try to lock them in or one week but literally the 1st day this guy Brian with Napoleon complex wants to come in and serve my boy with a notice punk ass and then not even stand there like a man and hold his own dam note. So why do I pay $300 a month to be able to “bring 12 people in” for napoleon to come and harrass me the min I walk in ???? I’ve been here for 2 years mind you and never once has Brian approached me until now. If I bring a guest in they shouldn’t feel harassed or anyway uncomfortable especially if their in a 2 week trial work out period. In reality all the trainers were hating like broads because my buddy is in better shape than them and they live and breath this gym🤔 there’s one trainer that’s double my size , how does that appeal to anyone looking to get in shape???? Makes you wonder, my opinion the Y, la , crunch we’ve been to all this places never once they’ve approach. This is ridiculous. For the amount of money I put in here I could’ve build a sauna steam room and a full gym at my house and not have to have Napoleon and his crew hating on the people I’m entitled to bring in. Fugaysi over priced gym consider the option at home I got a trainer that leaves this guys in diapers.

This was easily one of the worst experiences at a gym I've been to in years. I'm a paying member at a different location, the front desk lady was so rude to me and my friend. We were told by our gym that we wouldn't have to pay extra to use this gym for two weeks. The lady said we had to pay $60 A WEEK. Are you kidding me? Even my membership advisor called Tampa and tried to resolve the issue for us and was unable to. We got a 3 day pass and luckily my friend got the GM in Tampa to agree to let us use this gym.
Rude customer service.
Lazy and lousy personal trainers and classes.
The gym, even at peak times, basically empty.
The equipment provided is not nearly enough to justify the $120-150/month. I pay less in California and get easily 4 times more out of it with size and ammenities and quality of staff.
Don't go here. Don't waste your time. My experience almost made me cancel my membership in California all together. Very disappointed.

The cleanest gym I have ever been too! Love the amenities in the locker rooms and towel service. Cafe and Spa on-site are super convenient as is the location near the mall. The spa services are good, especially the Hydrafacial with Gloria. I don't take many group fitness classes but have been to a few (yoga, spin) and they were great.

Best health club/gym in Tampa! I absolutely LOVE coming here just about every day. It’s never over crowded, NEVER smells like sweat, you never have to wait for machines, no staring men or powerhouse-type people, they have Olympic platforms 😍, and the atmosphere is really awesome here. The trainers are all great, and you can tell they are educated in what they do unlike trainers at some other gyms. The classes are great (Yoga is awesome), hot tub and sauna are perfect. The club manager, Andre, goes above and beyond to make sure every member is completely happy. I haven’t seen customer service like that in a long time. I will never move more than 15 min away from this gym haha.

Just had the BEST MASSAGE EVER with Jenny at the Lifetime Fitness, Lifespa. Aside from her sunny disposition, Jenny listened to my concerns and took extra care to work on my trouble areas. To top it off, she custom blended some essential oils according to my personal preference and I am still enjoying the fragrance as I write this review. At the conclusion of my service, Jenny gave me personalized stretching recommendations that will help alleviate some of the chronic pain that prompted me to get a massage. The service that I received at the spa and from Andre, the gymn manager, far exceeded my expectations. Kudos to Jenney, Lifespa, and Lifetime Fitness!

Loud bad unnerving music is in every space of this small gym for the price of a huge gym. No pool and to make it worse the music gets louder at the beginning of every song And they have commercials too. Would be great if the price was $75 a month cheaper and not pollute the air with so much noise.

I have been a Founding member at another location in Virginia, started as a Diamond, and dropped to Onyx after a few year. I paid $160 for both my wife and I. When I heard that it was that much for just myself, I was like there is no way I am paying that much for a gym membership. My wife even told me to cancel after the one week satisfaction guarantee. I went in and took a tour. Called my wife and told her that I was going to stay a member because it is never packed (huge factor), the amenities are terrific, people are nice (I love the lady that signed me up) and just everything that you get with a monthly membership. Expensive? Yes, no doubt. But if you think about it, if the membership was $40 a month, everyone would be a member and it'd be packed to where you have to wait for a squat rack or any machine you're trying to use. It is expensive for a reason. It's not about bragging that you pay more than 90% of all people (you'd look pretty dumb), it's about getting what you pay for. I don't even have a job! I am a student at a pilot school not far away, and this is worth changing some of my monthly expenses around for.

Lifetime fitness is a very corrupted business. Cancelling membership w them is virtually impossible. I have cancelled several times and they keep on charging my card. I have gone there personally to cancel and they tell me that indeed the membership is cancelled. However, they refuse to give me a piece of paper showing that the membership is cancelled. Be very careful getting into a membership w these people as they will take maximum advantage of you on a very unethical manner.

Plenty of Squatting racks, mass amounts of treadmills and extremely clean with amazing options for full body workouts. Not to mention a yoga room, 2 studios and a open floor plan to train safely. Granted they do not have a pool but they have the knowledge to make a change in your way of life. We pay more for actual change in our daily lives. Ive lost a lot of weight in a healthy way and i have kept it off. The alpha class is amazing, and the instructors are there for you ! Kids Academy is awesome, they watch your kids and teach them things all while trying to get them UP AND MOVING. Cafe has great options for the whole family, building muscle, losing weight, maintaining or detox they got you covered. I have more energy, know more about healthy foods and a healthy way of life and Ive learned a crazy amount of workouts from Terry . I love this place and highly recommend this establishment for a family, athlete or a person serious about changing their way of life. Front end always makes me feel welcomed, they did a great job of finding the right people to great you . I like the fact that random people cant come in to do a walk through unless they have an appointment. Security is a huge thing when you have kids in the facility so it makes me feel good that they stick to their guns and let you know to come back with an appointment .

Membership cost: $140 per month in case you are wondering plus $100 to sign up in case you're wondering. This is definitely one of the top 3 luxury styled gyms in Tampa. Facilities always stay spotless and security is high. You won't be able to get in unless you're a paying member and they only give you a guest pass if you already know a member so you don't have to worry about people stealing your stuff. The bad part is they don't have pools, basketball courts or tennis courts. The place was built into a former department store from the looks of it instead of clear real estate (attached to the International Mall) so I'm guessing they didn't have enough space for those additions.

I recently moved from Dallas Texas. I am currently a diamond member at Lifetime fitness paying $150/mo. At the Dallas locations and the Sandy Springs locations diamond facilities have three level building with swimming pools outside and indoors, large co-ed jacuzzi pools, tennis courts, racquetball court, basketball courts, summer programs for kids, yoga studios and many more. And yes, very clean and exclusive as well. Unfortunately, I am highly disappointed with this location due to the lack of amenities that the other Lifetime Fitness locations offer across the country. I think it's a rip off and unfortunately will be looking for a facility that provides all the activities that I enjoy along with cost effectiveness. I love Lifetime Fitness and when they hopefully build the appropriate facility like the others, I will be back. But I do not recommend this facility for reasons of cost compared to there other facilities. Sorry, Lifetime Fitness. I know you can do better.

This is the only gym nursery * Kids academy* I would allow my child to be left at. The nursery alone is worth the monthly fee, every parent who wants to work out without worrying about the well being of their child needs to join. I have been a Life Time member at over 3 locations on and off since 2013 because of our frequent traveling. We have steadily been going to the Tampa location for over a year now. This has been the best experience yet, despite it being half the size as the platinum Lifetime Gyms. It’s not a big deal though, this gym makes up for the small size with the AMAZING people who are there making it all happen. Every single person who works there is extremely nice and helpful. I would speak up on one person but everyone there is equally awesome. You have to try every class with every teacher, each one is a unique experience that always ends up being a fun & effective work out. I have zero complaints. I will be a member for life.

I went in with my wife. We are an affluent couple, both well known business people. We were BOTH going to sign up today. From what i've read, we'd have been shelling out $600-$700 on the spot for the sign up fees and first month, which I have no problem with. I saw their website and was sold on the idea of the place before i even went in. Stopped by about 8 p.m. and asked for a tour of the facility. The front desk girl rudely informed me that I "had to have a reservation". Uh, what do you mean by reservation"? I asked. She stated there was "no account manager on duty" so therefore, I couldn't SEE the gym, and would have to make a reservation for another day. That's right- I was actually denied the right to see the gym. I laughed right in her face and asked if she was serious. That's when she acted like I was some peasant and she was lording over the magical kingdom, for which I do not have the secret password. The Mrs. and I laughed the whole way out to the car. This front desk girl was such a stuck up snob it was actually comedic. These pompous jack*sses probably blow people off all day, affluent people like us who know half the town, and I will bet you a trip to anywhere in the world that this place will not exist in one year's time. There's no way they can be successful with a rude staff, a faux elitist attitude, and willingly pissing off perfectly good potential clients. The girl working the front desk probably lives with her folks and drives a chevette, yet she's been told to portray some rich snob when she's a $9/hour carny. If you want a real no b.s. gym LA Fitness does everything these clowns do, and you won't have to deal with the snobby lisa turtle look alike at their front desk like you do this soon to be closed "gym". Let's face it, this place is a snobby disco with weights, complete with the elitist door men, the overpriced service, and the ten cent millionaires. It's just a gym, get over yourselves already. For their next act maybe the bathroom attendant Bartholomieu T. Bunghole the III will be selling gold foil toilet paper for $800 a foot to the upper echelon of douchebaggery that inhabits this place. I interact with a few thousand people a week, so i'll make sure to tell this story repeatedly to anyone that will listen. From the looks of most of the REAL reviews on here, this place is going downhill fast.

Lifetime Fitness is the most amazing fitness chain in the country. However my visit to the Tampa facility was disappointing. Visiting from Cleveland as a platinum member and going into a so-called "Diamond" club I expected so much more. The Tampa facility was beautiful and clean as I expected. However this "Diamond" club was half the size of my Cleveland facility with less equipment no swimming pool!
In Cleveland we have three pools. A large five lane lap pool, another large indoor pool with lap lanes and a huge area for family fun, and another similar outdoor pool layed out like a country club.
My membership is roughly half the price as a platinum member in Cleveland compared to being a member of this so-called "Diamond" facility in Tampa.
I love Lifetime and I am a huge fan but I expected so much more from my Tampa experience.

Great gym and locker facilities, especially if you don't like the crowds and the "rifraf". However, their membership team needs an overhaul. I have belonged to some of the most exclusive gyms in the US and I have never had to pressure them into letting me have more than one day to try it out. I got three consecutive days after a very uncomfortable negotiation but if I had known a current member I could have gotten two weeks. I got there 2 of the 3 days I could use it. The consultant was tied up when I left the last day so I asked the front desk person to have her call me later as I had an appointment to get to. I never heard from anyone so I called a couple of days later and they told me that the membership fees had increased from 135 + tax to 149 + tax the day after my "trial membership" ended. So if I wanted to join, because the membership person was busy that day and never followed up, I would have to pay extra every month for that. You would think in a gym that charges that much (as I mentioned have been a member to more exclusive gyms that charge more than that) you would have better customer service in the membership team. Too many red flags for me so I passed on joining, wouldn't you?

As a member was saddened by the front desk welcoming, I came to use the gym bc I was on vacation and didn't want to go somewhere else. The front with the two older blonds were just mean at first until I decided to be nice and let it go. I do recommend a new friendly front customer service staff.I mean the gym is awesome not like my lifetime up north but useable. To get more members they need to friendlier staff. But in general lifetime is number one but this one. It says diamond club but it looks nothing like a diamond club. It needs to change some of its staff first and add more fitness stuff. My family and I have been members to Tampa Lifetime Athletic and Life Spa for over a year. We love this place! From the Athletic Trainers, Spa Staff, Kids Academy Staff, Life Cafe Staff, all the employees go out of their way to help us and make us feel comfortable. I have never in my life experienced such a wonderful place to go. We are able to drop off our kids in the Kids Academy and workout, sweat, lose weight, grab a bite to eat, jump in the sauna/hot tub, or get a spa service all at the same time. We can do this knowing that are kids are being watched by multiple Kids Academy Staffers that are trained, with background checks and professionals all at the same time. They even help us with getting homework done....... When I go to pick up my kids, they do not want to leave! This allows me time to run over to Nordstrom to pick out a new outfit or the Apple Store to get my phone fixed. Also, talk about cleanliness. The entire facility is spot free and super clean. I was a "founding member" so the start up of the club has been very slow and painful. Very limited class schedules. Appears only classes they are adding, you have to pay an additional monthly fee. I have my son visiting for a month, i was told after driving 45 minutes to get there that their rules only allow guest pass use every 60 days. Between minimal air conditioning, limited class schedules and marginal manners by many of the staff, it is time to change clubs. Will probably go back to Harbour Island club - much better classes and wonderful environment.

They over promised, undelivered and overcharged! At $150 down and $150 a month the staff should treat you with a little respect. After an incident with Jennifer Schmidt, a very rude personal trainer, we wanted to cancel our two overpriced memberships. For whatever reasons their Pilates equipment was put in the general work out area. This made it appear that anyone was welcome to use it. Several people that morning were doing just that. I took two years of Pilates and I know how to use it. I used the horse to stretch my back and no one said a thing. When my Latino workout partner got on the reformer Jennifer came running over and rudely stated this can not be used by anyone without a personal trainer. She was extremely nasty which made us both very uncomfortable and upset. When I started to tell Jennifer that you should put up a sign she rudely stated that if I "shut my mouth" she could explain why it was there. I was shocked that someone in their employ would speak to any member this way and with such a condescending attitude. This equipment has been there for days and we have seen others using it. She was so rude to the both of us that we had to stop working out and leave the gym. I don't tolerate anyone speaking to me or my friends in this manner. If she worked for me she would no longer have a job.
They have a “month to month” membership policy that at first though was great until we tried to cancel it. We contacted the manager Joe Liotine and requested that he cancel the memberships. After 5 days and 6 emails and he still refused cancel unless we had a meeting with him. After reading other online reviews showing 226 unresolved complaints on ripoff reports, I knew they would use high pressure tactics to try and not cancel the memberships. Today we followed their policy and went to the facility with a written letter of cancellation for them to sign. It was either that or to send a certified letter. They refused to accept or sign the letter of cancellation and said that they would do it electronically. We had to argue with them to send us an email with the cancellation as they refused to give us a printed copy for our records or sign an acknowledgment that we were cancelling. Buyers beware! They can’t afford to lose any more members and fight with you to avoid canceling your membership. I highly doubt this gym will be open another few months. BTW Personal training sessions are $100 and I have seen zero results from anyone using these services. Some of the customers actually seemed to look worse after being there 6-8 weeks.

Beautiful club w hi end amenities, very clean. I took two yoga classes, they were both different, I loved them both ;} Leshan instructed a freestyle class, heated and lets you go freestlye unguided, for the brave. Chay instructed us thru fantastic stretches, all interesting and challenging, but not so difficult that you couldn't enjoy it. There were people of all levels in the class, from Big guys to lil woman and a variety of ages.
I dipped off after class to do my own little workout in the privacy of a group class room. Everything is so clean. No one bothers you. A lot of women working out on their own, which is always inspiring and impressive!! I spoke w another instructor who taught a barbell strength class, Lauren, she was superfit and very sweet.
The locker room is like most clubs I visited and belonged to , fits my criteria. Very clean and the staff is kind. Hot tub in ladies room, Steam and Sauna. Full get ready supplies.

The club is nice and the location is great. The cafe is delicious and you don't have to be a member to enjoy healthy food.
Lucky enough to have a home gym so I made it probably 2x in the year that I was a member. The trainers are talented. The pilates staff is amazing. Locker rooms are really great, with facilities like a jacuzzi or steam room and toiletries. The spa was nice and it was a treat to have something in a gym to make a whole day out of one of my 2 visits.
Staff: amazing, helpful and wonderful. They always remember your name and encourage you to jump into gym wide functions or programs to keep you on your goals.
Music: is there music? There are a few music videos playing in between Lifetime Commercials marketing to us while we are working out reminding us why we joined. This was boring. You can tune to selected stations to listen to music or the preselected channels of sports, sports or sports if you want to watch TV. There are no TVs in machines so you are in fact stuck watching golf or listening to Lifetime commercials.
I finally cancelled bc I just never used the amazing facilities and still had to pay 1 more expensive month and a couple prorated days. Im sure it was in my contract but in the world of inexpensive athletic clubs I thought we were beyond this tactic.

I visited the club here in Tampa. The place was amazingly well organized and equipped. The staff was professional and obviously well trained. There is a great variety of organized fitness classes, and more than a sufficient number of free weight and weight machine stations. The locker and bathing facilities are the cleanest of the elite clubs in the area.
The member fees are very good value for money. Value for money has and always be something that is individually determined, for the obvious reasons. The only negative review I've read before viewing the club and since that time has been based of fees.
I became a member. I found features and services at the club that meet my needs, and that I am willing and capable of pay for. I have no complaints for Life Time, that are about the club. I was able to overcome any concern that was about me so that I could clearly rate Life Time Tampa.
