My fiancé and I wanted to take dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding and we found Montoya Dance Studio and had 5 dance lessons and it was one of our favorite date night experiences leading up to our wedding! The studio is perfect and Giana was fantastic! She did not make us feel awkward at any stage in the process she also cut our dance songs for us and they turned out fantastic! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Montoya Dance Company and the incredible owner/instructor, Gianna! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with her to choreograph a dance for our 25th wedding anniversary party—and she absolutely nailed it.

Gianna took the time to really listen to what we wanted and created a routine that was elegant, fun, and had just the right touch of sexiness. It was exactly what I envisioned—romantic, a little flirty, and so much fun to perform. She made us feel confident, comfortable, and totally prepared, even though we’re not professional dancers.

Her energy, creativity, and passion for what she does really shined through in every lesson. She was patient, encouraging, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. Our guests were blown away by our dance, and it truly was one of the highlights of the evening.

Giana walked my mother and I for practice our mother-son wedding dance. She was very professional and gave us several tips throughout to help us continue to practice on our own. Best place for salsa dancing! I’ve been coming to the studio for 2 years and I still learn something new everyday. This studio gave me the confidence to dance in public no matter my dance experience. I’d say I’ve improved a hefty bit and it would not have been without the help of Giana and the salsa and bachata friends and family that’s welcomed me and everyone along the way.
I used to feel sad that maybe I missed my salsa journey when I was young, but I’m glad I came as an adult more because of it.

Renata, Nick, Anne, Penny and the rest of their team were exceptional in every aspect of the service they provided. They were very professional and accommodating to all of our needs. They even served drinks to our guests when we were not expecting it. We were allowed to come in the day before our event to start setting up. If there was something we needed, they had it available for us to use. Every penny spent was well worth it! I would definitely use this venue for another gathering in the future.

Salsa Kids: Giana is a blessing to our family. My daughters have been taking her classes for years and it is the highlight of our weekend! Watching my my young girls grow and learn to love and move their bodies with expression has been amazing. Every Saturday feels like coming home to family, the girls are also learning teamwork, choreography and responsibility. The owner Giana provided a private dance lesson for a group of ladies celebrating a destination bachelorette that I planned for them. The bride’s greatest passion is dance and she wanted to dance with her friends without going to a nightclub. Not only was the class Giana provided extremely fun and entertaining for the whole group, she was nothing less than a joy to work with for the booking process. You can tell just by talking to her she is a beautiful soul who is genuine in everything she does, and truly puts her heart into her business. I learned how to dance the way that I always dreamed of dancing at Elegant Rumba Dance Company. I had been to several dance studios in my life, but ERDC and its owner Giana Montoya, is different in that she is all encompassing. She thinks about the student in all the ways she can help them be more than they thought they could be as a dancer. She is responsive to the student's entire development in dance. From emphasizing connection and awareness in our partnering work so we are safe from injuring each other to continuing to smooth out what we have difficulties in when we feel awkward moving. She lifts you out of being uncertain in your steps to being strong and decisive in what to do with our entire body beyond stepping the foot and sweeping the hand. I felt I was learning more than just the typical steps and moves. I was also studying how to follow and play with the rhythm of the music. I was learning how to bring connection between my movements and to the instruments in the song. I was getting in touch with finding my own rhythm. I was learning how to connect myself to the beats, the hits and the suave moments through every part of the music I was listening to, and sharing this connection with the partner I was dancing with. I especially felt that my dancing grew when I joined the Ladies Styling Team and was training under Giana Montoya. She really allowed me to develop my dance and become a well-rounded mindful dancer. I started from not knowing proper technique/form and began to add layers of precision to my dancing through Giana's direction and guidance while taking her classes and seeing her for private dance lessons. I would not be where I am today in my dance if it were not for Giana’s dedication, creativity, and push to try challenging, new, and beautifully made choreographies. Every year for the past 7 years, Giana Montoya has inspired me to keep working on my dance. This year, I was able to travel to Puerto Rico and feel the most confident in my dance than I ever felt in social dancing. Those moments when I was dancing without thinking and could really enjoy my dance is a testament to Giana’s expertise and body of work that has encouraged me to become the best dancer I can be.

I signed up for lessons to improve my salsa. Prior to taking lessons, I was a spectator and would not step on the dance floor. Thanks to Giana, now I cannot get off. She has not only improved my dancing, but my confidence as well. The group classes are fun and exciting. She also teaches private lessons where she focuses on your craft and develops your body and mind. This is worth every penny. I highly recommend her!

Communication was poor between Ana and Nick the owner and wasn’t truthful. The old lady Ana Who works with nick the owner is horrible when it comes to customer service. She Quoted us one thing in our contract and then changed up at the last minute for our wedding. If you pay for a service that they can’t fully provide you will NOT get a refund back. She said she would be there to make sure everything was ran smoothly but I couldn’t find her. When I did she was dressed in the Same clothes from YESTERDAY and wasn’t at all formal attire (disgusting )Ana was short and rude the day of our event. The speakers to play music at the event (reception) wasn’t working properly at ALL! As for the building it was nice I must say and this is the reason I’m giving it a star. Never again will I use this place.

I was so excited to start dance classes. I attended one class with a girlfriend of mine but we did not get to participate much as we attended a class that was at end of the series. I found a Groupon in order to really give it a try. However, I was not considered a “new customer” so was turned down and told I had to pay $150. This Groupon was not offered to me when I was considered a new customer and I was not told about the immense price difference. My excitement has now turned to disappointment. I will take my business elsewhere with a more understanding staff.

There is no place to have more fun on a Monday night than Elegant Rumba. Every class is like an international, multi-age party.
