Very mixed experiences here. My son was in the toddler tumbling last year and had a great time because it was in the big room and they had plenty of space to run and tumble. This year my daughter was in the same class and it was moved to the smaller room and it was absolutely chaotic. The teacher had no control over the class and the room is so small the kids don’t make as many big movements that they’re wanting to do. There are periodically kids that are having a hard time in the class and spend the entire time screaming and crying which is so disruptive to the others who then don’t follow instructions either. My son’s older toddler tumbling class was also in the same room and he spent about half the class time waiting to take a turn in the obstacle course. Lots of doing nothing. There is very little waiting room space and a few parents take it upon themselves to camp out right in front of the classroom doors with their other older kids and they spread out their toys everywhere in the tiny hall space.

We had a hard time justifying staying this year with the lack of class control, decreased space, and the lack of comfortable waiting space while trying to maneuver around parents and other kids. The studio also feels grimy on the floors which you end up sitting on while waiting or watching classes.

I truly wanted to love this place, and I have to say that Ms. Lisa and the staff were wonderful; however, it does not foster an inclusive environment. As a parent of a mixed-race child, it was disheartening to witness my daughter being ostracized by her peers. Initially, I hoped this was an isolated issue, but over an entire season of dance, I experienced similar exclusion from other parents. Despite giving it time, the environment never improved, making it difficult to recommend for families seeking a welcoming and diverse community.

We want to commend Amanda for her work ethic at Ms Lisa’s dance studio. She puts all her many dance skills to work to get the best from her young students. We absolutely adore MLD. The staff is not only incredibly friendly and helpful, but they are truly amazing teachers. My 7 year old started the MLD competitive cheer program last year and is obsessed! My daughter loves dance and our last location almost ended that for her. After a lot of convincing, she finally agreed to go and try a different class. Terrible place, horrible experience!!!!
Today, we made a trial lesson in here. The lesson was at Studio C which is outside the building.
I wasn't informed that I needed to pick my daughter up from Studio C after the lesson, I though they will come with their teacher.
When I checked the camera and saw that the class was over, I asked the staff at the desk, and they told me to go pick her up.
When I went, I found my daughter alone in the parking lot, sitting on the ground and crying!!!!!
How can a child leave or be left to leave a classroom where a teacher is present, all by herself? How can a 6-year-old child be left like that? What if something had happened to her in the parking lot?
The teacher is responsible for ensuring the safety of the children. They couldn’t let them to outside without parent!!!!
I still feel like I’m losing my mind over this. My daughter is exhausted from fear and crying.
Something could happen to her, and this is simply unacceptable. This is pure irresponsibility.
We are still under the impact of this situation. I can't even think about what could have happened to my daughter in the parking lot.
If it’s happen once then it can be more..
My daughter is still affected by this, waking up and crying frequently. I still haven't been able to recover, and it's impossible for us to forget or forgive this situation.
I will never advice this place anybody!!!!!!!

I have been bringing my soon to be 5 year old daughter Bella Rae to Ms Lisa's Dance Studio & Acro Studio since she was 17 months old. Since 2021 I have watched my daughter blossom with confidence & passion through creative movement and it has been the best investment I have made as a parent.
As a young child myself I didn't have the luxury of my parents investing in dance classes because they simply couldn't afford to.
I'm grateful that Ms Lisa's tuition is fair with pricing and flexible with a variety of classes and schedules offered throughout the week. The teachers are amazing and I can personally say that from experience attending a few beginner adult ballet classes. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming especially while navigating my own young kids and babie's dance classes. Ms Lisa herself is truly an inspiration and great model of facilitating developmentally appropriate age practices. As both my daughters are developing a passion for dance, I have found myself exploring avenues to build on my own foundation of dance and hope to volunteer or teach a little's class someday. It brings me tremendous joy and reignites that passion for teaching I had before I stepped down as a teacher to be home with my firstborn daughter. I wanted to like this place when I enrolled my son. Wish there was more inclusivity in this school. I could see the teachers bias towards some kids. I and my kid didnt feel included here. Ms. Lisa's Dance School came highly recommended as South Tampa's, but of course I searched for alternatives. As a Dad who takes lead in my daughter's extracurriculars, I was hoping for the best and we took the leap. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. From our first interaction with the team, we felt welcomed and valued. The professionalism and attention to detail were second to none.

During her multiple classes, my daughter grew tremendously in her appreciation for music and dance. The instructors at Ms. Lisa's were amazing: patient, kind, and nurturing, which allowed my daughter to feel safe and confident in a new and exciting environment. The atmosphere was always positive and encouraging, which provided the perfect balance of fun and instruction.

One of the benefits of having a young girl attend dance school is how it contributes to their growth and overall development. Not only does it promote physical fitness & activity, but it also helps to build self-confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills. Likewise, I was pleasantly surprised by the recitals as my daughter loved the opportunity to costume up and get on stage. Please note that the recitals / costumes are extra, but reasonable and well worth it (if there's one ding, they could do a better job of communicating the cost of recitals / costumes ... somehow their communication makes it seem like a surprise cost your first time through).

The only reason we are proceeding on from Ms. Lisa's is that we have moved to St. Pete (Ms. Lisa's is great, so we commuted back to Ms. Lisa's for several months for class). I highly recommend Ms. Lisa's Dance School to anyone looking for an exceptional dance experience for their child. The instructors and staff are truly passionate about what they do, and their dedication is evidenced by the quality of the programs they offer. With Ms. Lisa's Dance School, we found more than just a dance school; we found a welcoming community filled with people who care.

I've been taking my daughter to Ms Lisa's acro and dance studio for a while now and to be honest, I have mixed feelings, there are things that I love and some that need (much) improvement.

Things that I love:
1. The studio's equipment (at least for toddler classes) is great; from barres to mirrors to toys, they can play dress up, they have mats and tons of options to dance and play.
2. The studio is always clean, zero complaints there.
3. Teachers are always on time, which i really appreciate.
4. Teachers have their lessons planned ahead of time and have all the equipment needed ready to go, this includes hand outs and even little gifts on special occasions (adorable)
5. They are great at announcing future changes to the calendar and special occasions where we need, for example, be ready for photos.
6. Teachers are knowledgeable and they seem to enjoy dance and acro. You can hear them use proper terms for the different dance steps.

Things that need improvement:
1. Teachers need training on how to handle kids, THIS IS A MUST: let me explain, classes are divided by groups depending on their age, for example 2-4 year old kids are in the same class; to expect a kid to behave the same way is just impossible, the difference in ages just from a 2 YO to a 2.5 YO is huge, so to put them all in the same class and expect that they all follow rules the same way makes ZERO sense. To expect a kid to sit still until all kids do their thing is unrealistic, to expect a kid not to want to play with the toys in there once again is unrealistic.
Bottom line, teachers MUST have some training on behavioral expectations by age, this is tied to number 2.
2. Teachers need to get to know the kids, at least their age, so that way they can understand a little bit better about behavior and what can be expected.
3. I'm very happy to see an assistant on (most) classes, however, if the roles during class are not properly stablished then whats the point? I mean, the assistant should help with kids that are not feeling secure for example, or (like I explained above) help to keep kids entertained while they need to wait for other kids to do their routines since it can take a long time.
4. I LOVED that there is a recital at the end of the class, but there should be a better way to do it with small children. To expect little kids to be OK with a packed auditorium clapping and yelling is not possible. A little intimidating for a kid to dance or even have fun when there is so much going on.
5. As much as I love that classes for older kids are without the parents and will create independence... not all kids are the same. There has to be a better way to start the class where there is an easier transition where they feel safe to be without their Mom/dad until they are comfortable.

My daughter tested out a class at Miss Lisa's dance after having had a lovely experience there with another teacher and we will not be back. From the time my daughter entered the studio there was a dog at the front desk that ran up to her and made her very uncomfortabole. I think it is very unprofessional for the front desk staff to have big dogs as well. The teacher was not very good and had my daughter to the side as she could perform the skills and was not workingon progressions. Would not recommend!!!

Our daughter Katie has been dancing with Ms. Lisa's Dance Studio for 8 years. Each year she begs to take more and more classes. We love both studios and all of the staff. Miss Lisa’s Tiny Tutus class has been an amazing experience for my two year old. She loves going to class and learning different ballet positions and moves, and she beams with confidence when she masters something. They keep the class fun and playful while also teaching listening skills, waiting your turn, and, of course, ballet. Everyone at the studio is very nice and helpful too. Great experience.

This was a 4 year old birthday party for a family member and all the kids had such a blast! The dance teachers were absolutely outstanding in helping host the party and how they directed all the kids boys and girls when they did a dance party class! I am definitely interested in getting my daughter who is 10 years old into a dance class or 2 there. My 2 daughters have been dancing at Ms Lisa's Dance for 3 years. I love that the studio performs both a Nutcracker performance in December and a recital in May. The level of dance that is put on the stage is always impressive. This year both my girls are competing at the team level and LOVE IT!!!! I am very pleased that choreography and costumes are always age appropriate and tasteful. The teaching staff is amazingly talented and skilled in their craft. My family is extremely pleased with Ms Lisa's Dance Studio and look forward to dancing here for many years to come.

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Ms. Lisa’s Dance Studio.

My 3 year old loves going to dance every week! The teachers are so patient and keep the class moving with lots of different dances and activities so the little ones don’t get bored. They have definitely found the right way to incorporate dance education with 3 year old fun - my daughter even comes home remembering ballet terms and moves that they learn in class.

My 9 year old also enjoys taking classes there. The older dancers recently got to perform in the Nutcracker- we were thoroughly impressed with the dances they learned and their performances. From someone with children with a wide age gap, I can definitely say that Ms. Lisa’s does a great job with their students of all levels.

We love Ms. Lisa’s! Alysha is amazing with the little ones! Our 3 year old loves going and the class is perfectly suited for little ones with short attention spans. They pack in a lot into the 30 min class which keeps their attention and allows them to get used to the moves and costumes! Would highly recommend!

We are now on year two of classes and we just have to say we absolutely LOVE Ms Lisa’s Dance and we love Ms Savannah!!! She has an incredibly amount of patience and you can tell she really enjoys teaching. My daughter always leaves with such a huge smile on her face! My daughter took summer classes with the hopes to stay permanently as the reviews were pretty impressive. First class was so disorganized, and parents could not stay in the dance room at least for the first class?!?! If they’re younger than 5, parents should be present on the first class while the kids get acquainted with the place. Also, they never addressed my daughter (or anyone else) by their name. I think that’s pretty rude. The dance studio staff, including the owner, have an attitude of “you need me, I don’t need you”. Seemed snobby and pretentious. I couldn’t wait for summer to be over so I didn’t have to go back.
Also, the waiting area is so small that they don’t have enough chairs for the parents and in many occasions I had to stand for the whole lesson.
Don’t think my daughter learned much either.

Had a wonderful experience at Ms. Lisa's dance studio. It was my niece's first time in a dance class. They were so patient with her. I was impressed how they kept her attention and kept her involved. Let's face it keeping a small child's attention is not a easy task.

My daughter is 5 and has been in 2 recitals now and both were disasters. They can't get anything right...sound, lighting, or staging. Even the older girls lack basic skills and I felt embarrassed for them. I'm not wasting anymore of my time and money at Miss Lisa's because I just don't believe she takes the art of teaching dance seriously enough. Instead she's constantly trying to make a buck by hosting babysitting pizza parties and "dance camps" for toddlers, selling dvd's, etc. The dance instructor was sweet and great with the kids but provided very little discipline and structure in class. I grew up in dance so my family and I know what a good dance school should be. If you want your child to learn and grow as a dancer and see their hard work (and your financial investment) pay off at a well produced and organized recital then I advise you to take them elsewhere.

The class we observed was very nice. Ms. Laurel and a very young teacher, possibly a sub teacher was very awesome. I can tell she loves teaching the kids. They're very patient too. They integrate toys for the kids to enjoy each part of the dance which is wonderful for the children for them to develop a love for dancing. But when I went to speak with the management, it was an old lady, probably the owner or the owner's mother, she was not friendly at all. She is very snobbish and condescending. If I have not encountered her, I might have enjoyed the studio thoroughly and might have enrolled my daughters.
