I love orangetheory… this is the best fitness place in all of Miami honestly. Every time i come here i feel amazing afterwards. The staff are so friendly everyone here feels like family. The girls at the front desk are always here to help. I see a lot of people complaining about not being allowed in for their first class but that’s because people don’t show up 30 minutes before class starts, instead they show up 5-10 before and this puts a lot of stress on the girls at the front since they have to deal with a rush before the classes. Karina, Jose, Alex, Amber, Valentina, and Rob are all amazing coaches, each of their classes i feel like my body gets stronger. Thank you so much to orangetheory i love it here ❤️❤️❤️

I had a very disappointing experience with the manager, Ana Olivia. I came in to cancel my membership because the franchise didn’t deliver what it promised specifically, being able to use other locations without extra fees. I’m moving to NYC, and the membership price there is double, almost $300/month, which is simply not sustainable. Despite being told originally that I could use any location, the reality is that you have to pay extra in other cities.

When I explained this, Ana was extremely unprofessional. Instead of helping me or even listening, she made an inappropriate assumption by telling me that “New York pays better,” so I should be able to afford it. That comment was uncalled for, disrespectful, and completely outside of her job. When I told her her delivery was rude, she didn’t care , she even asked if she “hurt my feelings,” as if it were a joke.

I’m shocked that a franchise allows someone this unprofessional to manage a location. I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and without any real help resolving my membership issue. I would strongly recommend dealing with literally anyone other than Ana if you expect basic professionalism.

What made the situation even more concerning is that she proceeded to make a charge to my account even though my payment date is the 25th, not the 17th. I never authorized this charge, and it felt spiteful and intentionally malicious given how the conversation went.

I feel financially taken advantage of. I strongly recommend avoiding dealing with Ana if you expect basic professionalism or honest customer service.

Sneaky alteration of class charge… DO NOT TRUST.
After signing up to the free 1st class, I was then told we were not eligible, we were offered a discount and charged $12 for the class.
After the class finished, I got a notification that $28 had been taken out of my account as I was LEAVING the building.
We returned to the front desk and were told that “Head Coach Katrina” had made the amendment whilst I was in the class. Conveniently when we asked to speak to her to discuss the sudden and UNEXPECTED change of charge, she had left the building.
I’d have had no issue with paying the full price IF I was actually told that this was going to happen but it was instead done SNEAKILY and unannounced.
Very sketchy and so disappointed with this experience.

False advertising Orangetheory Fitness not offering a 30-day risk-free guarantee. They have 2 months commitment and when you less than 30 days inform you dont like they will still charge for 2 months.

I wouldn’t recommend coming here! I wasted my time coming in a little late due to taking the bus since I myself do not have a car and I was told you have to be there 30 mins prior to appointment time even though I showed up 10 mins before actual time for class to start. They still wouldn’t let me in and wasted my time and money spent here.

I was very mistreated in my attempt to try this studio.
When I received the follow up text, I explain the whole detailed situation:

"I went yesterday to try the class and they didn't let me in because i wasn't there 30 min in advance
Which i understand, but 1st, i got there 20 min in advance, but i was on the phone with something personal. So i got in, said hi to the front desk ladies, and got in the restroom to finish my conversation and change to my workout clothes.
Then, I was able to finish the call by 5:25 pm and i checked in and the front desk lady told me I couldn't get inside the class bc i needed the 30 min in advance explanation and it was a requirement.
Then I explained to her that I was an Orange Theory member for three months in another city, and I showed her proof of that on my phone, so i explained i knew how to use the machines and how the class works. She told me she would check with the manager. Then came back and told me that i was not allowed in anyways, because besides the teacher of the 5:30 class was late because of traffic.
Which i found really odd because 1. Then if he was late who would have trained me? The front desk lady told me she would do it herself, so...
2. If the teacher was late and the classed was being pushed a few minutes late, why wouldn't she seize the opportunity and explain to me until the teacher got there?
So, all in all i felt really disappointed at the lack of cooperation of the front desk staff and i don't think I'll reschedule my trial class"

Not only did I not get a response, but then they called me (probably nobody even checks the replies to this automatic follow-up text) and when I explain the whole situation again, their only response was "I am sorry, do you want to reschedule a trial class?". With the amount of amazing gym studios in the area, I strongly recommend not going for one that clearly don't care if the cosumer has a good experience not they are interested in listening to any constructive critiques or provide a personalized customer service.

This studio is the only studio I know that is so strict with their policies that they never work with you when you miss a class over emergency situations or situations that were unexpected. It’s truly a shame because the instructors are great and everything else is great. They just suck with working with you to accommodate any unexpected situations. No other orange theory I have ever been to is like this. The ones in Fort Lauderdale and the one in Weston are so much better. The people work with you and are nice and accommodating.

This location seems to have a recurring issue with staff… I confirmed it today when I got to the class at 5:36 one minute after the grace period. My friend had already gotten there, so I explained this to the staff, but they decided that if they let me in, people would then say that it’s ok to arrive late. I guess I was setting the example, kind of what the other reviews suggested. It’s treated as a kindergarten class. Anyway, I informed that due to this I could no longer maintain the membership as I come straight from work and at times traffic is very heavy as we know living in the area. The staff Alexa and Maya preferred the option of me canceling the membership and most likely losing two members as they were aware my friend was waiting for me, so they handed me the cancellation sheet as if I knew what it was without further explanation. I proceeded to complete it and left. I believe there’s a huge lack of customer service, and that is a big reason to take your business elsewhere, where workers and staff are actually there to better your experience. Not to make it harder, as we know, going to the gym or exercise is already challenging for lots of people. Avoid the bad experience and go where you feel welcomed 🫶

Update: This gym is also after your money. They never stopped charging me. After they gave the cancellation form without any explanation, NOW they inform that the cancellation comes with a fee. Horrible experience. Please don’t come here.

I had a solid first class experience at this location. Sign up online for the first free class was easy, and I got communication to come to the studio at least 20 minutes early to be introduced to the facilities and their heart rate monitoring system. They do not provide towels even though they have showers; they sell them. You have to bring your own towels if you do not buy one, and thank goodness I had one in my car. With the amount of cardio they incorporate into each workout, you will need a towel.

Essentially, if you do not buy/rent their heart rate monitor, which straps onto your arm, your heart rate and energy burning will not show up on their group monitor in your name's box. You cannot connect a Garmin or Apple Watch to their monitor system. Sierra at the front desk explained their "splat points" system, which is based off of the age, height and weight that you give when you sign up for their system and is a unit of energy expenditure and effort. Everyone's splat points accumulate when their heart rate is in the orange or higher zone, about 70-80% of the maximum heart rate, hence the gym's name. They say about ending with 12-18 splat points are ideal for beginners in their first class. I ended with 34 splat points.

The class was very structured, so you always know what you were supposed to be doing and where you were moving to next. Everyone was either doing one activity all together or half of the class was doing one exercise and switching off with the other half doing another exercise. It looks like every workout involves treadmill work, where you can choose to run with certain inclines and speeds, or you can choose to walk with increased inclines. The treadmills are used as a warm up and a part of the circuits.
The trainer introduced me to the class as a newbie and made me feel welcome, calling on me to make sure I was staying on the same page as everyone. There are screens showing the circuit exercises, but she took the time to point out the proper form within them. I felt comfortable doing everything knowing that she was always keeping an eye on everyone and available to review any moves anyone was confused about.

The only drawbacks that would keep me from signing up for a membership here is the cost (promotional $199 a month) and the lack of amenities for the cost of said membership. I don't ask for a lot of gyms, but towels are one of them.

If you're looking for a gym with a lot of guidance and structure and a good sense of community among repeat gym goers, this could be a good one for you! Go get your free class and check it out.

If you’re looking for a group fitness HIIT studio in the Aventura/North Miami area, you have to come to OrangeTheory Aventura! I’ve been a member here for 2 years now and haven’t regretted it for a single minute. I’ve been going to group fitness studios in South Florida for years and I’m finally happy I found a place I can call home. I would recommend signing up for their Premier membership to have unlimited classes (and you can try the 2G/3G and the Strength 50 classes). I personally mix these in throughout the week to have some variety in my workout. Also with Premier membership it allows you to go to other studios if needed (if you happen to be in other locations for work or vacation). I’ve tried a number of different studios due to this and it really has made me appreciate my home studio of Aventura even more.

Studio Manager Alexa is a complete sweetheart and is like a member of our family. We love all the coaches, major shout outs to Karina, Elba, Alex, Amber, Valentina, and Sharron for always putting on a great class and helping us with our form and keeping us in tip top shape! All of the Sales Associate/Front Desk team members are also great and make us feel at home every time we walk in the front door.

For the negative reviews you see, completely ignore them- these are negative people that shouldn’t be in the studio and someone you shouldn’t interact with to begin with. A lot of these reviews have to be around not being on time for class- so be respectful to the studio and the other attendees and you won’t have a problem. If you’re not on time, you’re already missing the workout and the instructions provided. It’s only 60 minutes, you can be on time. I’ve been going here for 2 years and have never been late once (even around going to other studios with work, traffic concerns, because I planned accordingly). So please be respectful to your fellow studio members and you’ll have unforgettable gym experience! :)

I took an introductory class and I really liked the vibe so I wanted to join. I had an add on Facebook that said I can join for $99. The representative told me they no longer have the special. I told the gentleman I will wait for another special. I got another special recently and I’m traveling at the same time so I told the person I can join but I need to start when I get back which was fine. I was told to hay the min I need to be a member is 2 months in the beginning. I have all this in text that I can also post. Also the add says I get a free heart monitor and the person said I need to pay half, then the person said it’s probably another branch and I sent the add with the phone number of this branch. They don’t even know what specials they are running. It’s the second time they don’t honor their own adds. Honestly the class had a great vibe but I don’t want to do business with people who are dishonest and as I read through other comments it seems that many people have the same issue. So maybe they need to be better trained so you don’t get people upset and lose customers so easily. Maybe I was going to be a customer for life.

My experience here was less than pleasant. I have been a member for a year and been to many OTFs around the country. I enjoy the classes and the atmosphere. All that being said this place was not an OTF EXPERIENCE. The people are rude, the place is small and claustrophobic. The front desk doesn’t know what they are talking about and make it hard on you with the basic requests. The treadmills are outdated which is hard to go back to when the rest of the gyms are modernized and the bathrooms are gross and don’t have any paper or tissues. The coaches are good. But when you have to leave the classes being stressed out it defeats the purpose of the exercise. Basically go to the Hollywood one instead. But better yet find one in Miami.

I have been a member of Orangetheory for 6.5 years and I have been at the Aventura location for 3, since moving to Miami from Atlanta, Ga. The head coach Karina is great, she is very on brand with OTF and very passionate about what she does. There are other coaches in this studio who are great as well. My only criticism for this studio is that they don’t have the updated treadmills like most other Orangetheory studios have but that is not a fault of the staff working. I do highly recommend joining this studio if you’re looking for a great community and quality fitness regimen.

I’ve been a member of OrangeTheory Fitness Aventura for more than a year now and go consistently (6 times a week), and I love it! I can’t say enough amazing things about this studio!

I’ve been to a number of group fitness studios around Miami (Aventura/North Miami), along with the Miami Beach area. The two areas are drastically different! And we’ve gone to a few different OrangeTheory locations since joining and I have it say this is by far the best group fitness studio in the Miami area!

You can try your first class free, as long as you are a local to the area and haven’t tried a class before. You must arrive 30 minutes before class as you have to fill out paperwork, and be advised from the front desk staff about how the workout works and the various zones, and be introduced to the coach. The coach intro section takes around 10-15 minutes in itself. I saw some reviews about various people being turned away or the front desk team having attitude, and that’s not ever been the case at this studio. If you’re complaining about the staff’s “attitude”, you need to put a mirror on yourself to look at your own attitude because this studio wants everyone to feel like family. And during the workouts, you get out of it what you put in. If you don’t go in there and try, and have a positive attitude you probably won’t have a good workout.

The workouts are all so unique each day, and challenging, and over a year, my health and fitness has improved and I’ve gone from 165 pounds to 145 pounds (losing all my COVID weight), and that’s thanks to the fitness regime and better nutrition.

So I can’t thank the front desk team enough, they’re all amazing! And the coach team for pushing me to do things I didn’t think that I could before! Thank you coaches Karina, Elba, Bibi, Alex, Amber, Katie, and Trina- they’re all amazing at what they do.

I joined just over a year ago, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. The science-backed, heart-rate-zone workouts deliver incredible results as long as you do your part and put in the work. You will get stronger, faster, and more heart healthy—while having fun doing it. Coaches Karina, Elba, Alex, Bibi, Jay, and Amber are the best in the business, offering all their knowledge, motivational wisdom, and personalized coaching to help you make the most of your workouts and smash your goals (bonus: they're truly amazing people, too). The entire front desk staff is warm and welcoming, and soon you'll feel right at home when you show up for your workouts. Friendly and supportive members also help create a great vibe. The studio holds regular social events for members, so this can be more than a gym if that's what you're looking for. And if not, just come and enjoy the best workout for your buck.

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. People at the front desk are extremely rude! Also, everything is about money for them. One day I forgot my heart monitor and they wanted to charge me $10 dollars to use theirs. If you don’t cancel a class within 12 hours they charge you $12 dollars! If you are late 1 single minute they don’t allow you to join the class. Stay way from this place! It’s unfortunate because the instructors are very nice, specially Karina!

I have been a member at Orangetheory for nearly 4 years on and off. Due to an issue faced twice with this gym I have made the decision to terminate relationship with them. They had previously charged me for a “no show” class when I was at the class even greeted the front desk people and said bye as I left all sweaty and red.

But that is a minor hiccup I can gladly overlook, the real issue is that even if there is negligence on their behalf in regards to billing they will not be accommodating and then hit you with the excuse that you have not signed the correct documentation. But how can that be as a customer you come to an establishment requesting a service and expect the people working there to be able to fulfill the service, if I ask for a downgrade and a representative tells me to sign documents to ensure my downgrade is fulfilled I do just that, and expect to have my downgrade next month in the billing and walk out of there saying thank you and with a smile. Well that didn’t happened, so I call and get told to come back to the studio to sign documents to fix the mistake; I do just that, even engage in small talk when signing cancellation documentation. One of the front desk agents asks me why I want to cancel (the same girl that didn’t fulfill the original downgrade request) caught off guard and I even lie to her and tell her that it’s because I will become very busy and have a lot going on. When in reality I should have said I’m cancelling because you weren’t able to do your job correctly.

Anyways 2 months later the charge for a membership that was supposed to be cancelled reappears. Once again call, speak to a manager and says they are “unable to provide a refund because the correct documentation was not filled”.

Long story short, if you would like to throw your money away for others not doing their job then this is the gym for you.

Last year I would have recommended everyone to come and have a great workout. Unfortunately that’s NOT something I can say now. KATHIE THE MANAGER is extremely unprofessional, rude, nasty, and not really helpful.
To the owner PLEASE BRING KARINA BACK!! She was nice, sweet and very professional about everything!
I tried explaining KATHIE I needed to cancel my membership because I wasn’t feeling safe and comfortable at the gym. We are almost in 2023 and I don’t think that the gym is not really LGBT friendly , which is really weird these days. So now I’m trying to resolve the whole problem since the “manager” isn’t able to help me resolve such easy issue.

I am working mom and it’s impossible to spend 1,5 hour to workout + time to come here. When they sent me first time home (I came 10 min before class), I wasn’t upset, I asked if it’s okay if I come 15 min earlier and the lady said “sure, np”. 👍🏼

I have been going to different places to workout like Exhale, Equionax, Red Bike, Barre and none of them sent me home. I explained to a front desk representative that I am a trainer myself and I know how to use treadmill, how to lift weights etc, but she was very mean to me, she kept saying “you can’t take this class!”… wow, disappointing, very upsetting, nice start of the day two times in the row. Thank you! I won’t come back here ever again and do not recommend orange theory.

I like how it’s a whole body workout and I burn a ton of calories in that 1hr class. Coaches are solid and front desk girls in this Aventura location are super knowledgeable & helpful.

Coming from nyc to visit and so happy I now have a gym here.. bc I’m in Miami at least 5-6x a year. Love this place!

Always leave feeling great, energized, ready to take on the day /or continue finishing up some work @ night.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure I would keep the membership after only having given it one month - but after this 3rd visit at this location here in Aventura, I’m sold. Definitely going to keep this in my routine.. I currently have an equinox membership for one location in nyc & 2 p/t.. but I am saying goodbye to one personal trainer after 2-1/2 years (I feel like he doesn't care anyway), and keeping the one I know for 5 years. And will continue w Orangetheory - maybe even add on 8 classes a month as opposed to my current 4pk a month.

It’s the full body workout and value for me - I love that each class only has about 10 ppl - @ least the 2g I attend, it’s an awesome workout and even better experience all around. I love the screens and being able to see my progress throughout class!!! My friend in San Francisco has raved about OTF for the past year and when one opened in Manhattan last month, near me - I had to give it a try. 100% recommend!!!

One of the trainers yells so loud into the microphone into the microphone it makes your ears hurt, when politely asked to lower volume she refused. the management refuses to refund money. The front desk employee is extremely rude and has no sense of customer service.

I would definitely recommend OrangeTheory Fitness to anyone looking to get back into shape but un-sure off which exercises to do and specially if you have any injuries as the coaches will not only advise on what alternative exercises to do they will keep checking to make sure you are not injuring yourself more.

It was recently totally renovated and I have really enjoyed attending! I used to have a ACSM certification and know how to work out and have trained myself in the past for Fitness competitions (like over 10 years ago haha) but this place gave me the push and the science is behind it, while obviously there is a variance in HR training and a margin of error the workouts really create muscle confusion and work.

The worst customer service ever!!!!
. I believe that no one especially moms like me who have just decided that it is time for them to start exercising have to be treated like this and let someone kill their enthusiasm. This was an awful experience for me and has since left a bad taste in my mouth about Orange Theory Fitness.

The people working behind the desk have no concept of customer support. They refused to accommodate me and were very controversial from the moment I walked in. I signed up for a free class on the internet then when I get there they tell me that I needed to be a Florida resident to get the class - if you are visiting from out of town don’t waste your time here. Go to flywheel down the block. They are much more professional.
