Great experience. Rick was my instructor. I am new to golfing and he was Very helpful and patient with trying to help me with my swing technique . I have a much better understanding of what I need to do to hit a decent ball. When I use the proper form he shows me ..I hit well. Rick Young is an amazing golf instructor! I was pathetic, doing everything wrong. But Rick broke each motion down to the basics, explained the whys, and transformed my golf swing and game. My golfing buddies were amazed at the improvement after only three lessons. I highly recommend Rick.

I finally decided it was time to learn the game of golf and be able to play with my husband. So glad we purchased a set of clubs with Chad’s guidance and began my lessons.
It turned out, it was an excellent choice with both Oxford Golf Academy and my pro Chad Orbaker; his knowledge, training approach to detail, patience, and positive reinforcement! …….Nikki is the best (Shortstop too).

What an outstanding experience! I started the week with a private lesson from Chad and then took all of the group sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The program provided solid instruction throughout, and every instructor was top-notch.

When class size allowed, each instructor asked what I wanted to accomplish and then circled back during the session to ensure we were on the right track. Additionally, each provided me with action steps on what I should focus on in the near term.

I'm already thinking about going back next winter to go through the process again.

P.S. It's been 4 weeks and about 7 rounds of golf this season, and the results:

Irons: Distance has not improved dramatically, but there is greater height, more draws, and consistent contact. Distance will come.

Drive: Achieving better contact and generating significantly higher ball speed and distance. Hit a few of my longest drives in the past 5 years.

Short game, Sand: I lack a little consistency and just need more reps; however, when I do it right, I have had excellent results.

Putting: The changes feel a little awkward, but the results have added a great deal of consistency and resulted in a much higher percentage of shots 8 feet and under. I always felt I was a good long putter, but now I am disappointed if someone just doesn't kick it back to me. By the way, I had 27 putts yesterday in a round.

Very friendly staff who go out of their way to assist inside the shop and out on the range. Lesson packages are very reasonable and the trainers know their stuff. If you're willing to listen, apply, and practice, you will get better. With one lesson, Paul has increased my ball speed 10 mph swinging with less effort. The Toptracer monitors give you accurate feedback as you implement what you've learned.

Great little driving range! Chad the owner was very nice, welcoming, and remembered my name. He was there even on a Sunday, which was impressive. Most importantly, they have grass to hit on! They also have mats. Distance markers were pretty spot on. Not busy at all and a good find since I just moved to the area. Will be back to practice some more and possibly get a lesson. You can't ask for more in a driving range. They have equipment for reviewing your distance, carry, accuracy and height for no additional cost. You can hit from mats or the grass areas and a bunker for sand practice. The people working there are unbelievable with their assistance answering

We have gone to Oxford Golf Academy many times since moving to the Villages to hit balls because their pricing is more cost effective.

We finally decided some tune up lessons were in order. We bought a package of lessons and we signed up for their 3 day putting course. Boy, oh boy, has that all been helpful! Our first lesson was with Chad and that guy is so knowledgeable and helpful! So much so that I was moved to go back after 3 of my lessons to have him fit me for some new clubs! First person to ever tell me I’m too tall a woman to use women’s clubs…..and I’ve been golfing for many years! I can’t wait to practice what I’ve learned with the proper clubs!

Our putting seminar was with Rich, another kind, knowledgeable guy. We learned so much and really enjoyed our time with him.

Finally I must mention our current instructor, Paul Brown. So patient, and again, very knowledgeable! You really feel all of the instructors desires to actually make you a better golfer!

2 lessons to go and I will always patronize the Oxford Golf Academy. Oh, and they have just added Top Tracer to enhance your practice and throw in a bit of group fun when you have visitors!

I always enjoy polishing up my golf skills at Oxford Golf Academy. Their Power Tee machines make it easy to practice hitting balls from varying tee heights. Additionally, the addition of the new Top Tracer Training System which tracks your ball as it leaves the Power Tee and records various data points related to the flight of the ball. I haven't golfed since I was a kid with my dad growing up, but my fiance was shopping at Goodwill and this place was right there so I walked over just to see if they had rental clubs or something. I had my first ever golf lesson in my life. I was told by everyone that I would be very bad at playing golf snd I would hate it. I had to find the courage to attempt something that I was going to hate and fail. My first lesson was with Rick Young… his hands on approach and explicit skills approach made me feel I could learn to play, and more importantly I enjoyed playing . He started with the basics of form and function fundamentals. This was what I needed and he seemed intuitive in understanding what I didn’t know. I actually hit the ball! Oxford gold academy is the perfect place to practice your game. Not only do they have natural grass T boxes, but they recently added automated artificial grass T boxes. But, the best thing about Oxford Golf is the instructor Stu Michels. I have been playing golf for about 15 years and have gotten better over time. Recently, however, I started hooking my iron shots. Stu fixed this in 3 lessons. Additionally, Stu found several other flaws in y mechanics, which helped me in other aspects of my game: driver, woods, and chipping. I am profoundly indebted to him and so Stu: I love you man.

The facility it's self is nice but I showed up 30 minutes before close wanting to test out the new shaft I just put on my driver explained I just wanted to hit a small bucket and didnt even care if I got to hit all the balls and the gentlemen turned me away said everybody had to be off the range by 6 pm...30 minutes is ample time to test out one club I would've been gone by 6 just like everybody else and to not even be given the opportunity to do that is upsetting.

Oxford Golf Academy is as the website states, a fantastic resource for all level of golfers. My friend, Robin and I needed instruction on getting more distance with our Drivers and irons and that was accomplished at Oxford. Rick was our instructor and he was patient, informative, and made the lesson fun. The instructions were not overwhelming so we were able to apply techniques after each lesson. Rick was always encouraging and positive. We were also given useful techniques in putting which has helped our scores tremendously.
We also were fortunate to have a lesson with Bruce, whose years of experience was priceless and his personality is both professional and a hoot!
Stu is the instructor we had for chipping and sand bunker lessons. Again, we came out of those lessons with simple techniques and the time he spent with each of us during the lesson was important. We are still a work in progress on chipping and hitting out of sand, but we have greatly improved because of the lessons with Stu.

No matter what you are struggling with your golf game, the instructions and lessons at Oxford are going to help you to definitely improve and enjoy the game.
