We haven’t been at Panhandle Hurricanes for very long but we already feel like part of the family. The owners, coaches, athletes and families are all so welcoming and kind. The coaches teach, correct and guide the cheerleaders without yelling. They take their time with the athletes and show them how to do things correctly. I have 3 daughters that cheer here and they all love it. I highly recommend the Hurricanes! So happy we decided to join the Hurricane family.

This is our first season here (new locals) but immediately knew it would be our gym home— before the first official practice! Coming from a large and popular gym previously, I have to say the communication has blown me away, it’s top tier. Everyone is SO kind! It truly is a family feel, not just another gym. In less than a month my daughter has gotten a skill she’s wanted to achieve for several years. So happy with our choice to join, and so excited for this season and many more to come! We recently moved to PCB and finally found our home gym and cheer family with the Hurricanes! The coaches are structured, organized, and very knowledgeable which has led to rapid growth for my daughter in a short time. She leaves every practice with excitement for the next practice. 2 years ago my youngest reached out to Errica on my Facebook. Child never cheered a day in her life. Fast forward 2 years in and she is now a level 3 flyer and pulls level 4 stunts! Wow! Not only do I have her in cheer my other 2 joined in as well. My girls both jr coach the babies team and love every second at the gym! My children haven't ever been so loved with open arms. PANHANDLE FOR LIFE! Oh... and the SOLO COACH... Well that woman is amazing!

Coach Erica runs a tight ship. But with all the little kiddos going in all directions sometimes what’s needed is a firm loving supportive hand hurding the kittens back in line. I cannot say enough good things about this gym! My daughter is a first-time cheerleader, and we were initially a little intimidated by the idea of joining a competitive cheer team. However, from day one, the owners, coaches, and entire community welcomed us with open arms.

We absolutely LOVE Panhandle Hurricanes Cheer! My daughter turned 11 in August, and that same month, she was asking to try our cheer — she has never done it and didn’t like er experienced with other competitive sports (soccer, basketball, etc) — and that’s when I asked about a good cheer place here in Panama City, FL. Coach Julie reached out to me personally, addressed my concerns with my daughter being a total newbie, but wanting to try it, and things fell right into place. We’ve been with them ever since and never plan to go anywhere else. It’s not just a family for her, but a family for me, too. We adore all of the coaches. They’ve helped my daughter find not just a joy that I could not get from her, but they’ve also helped her find a sense of confidence that only a team sport like this could achieve. They had their first competition this past weekend and I haven’t seen her that happy in a long long time. I am so thankful that we found them, or rather, that they found us. They have a special place in our hearts, and my youngest daughter (5yo) can’t wait until she’s old enough to start cheer as well.

This gym has provided a home for my little athlete. The coaches are beyond amazing. Each coach truly cares for every kid that steps into the mat. The coaches give encouragement and build confidence while being strict and firm.
This gym is worth every penny you'll spend.
We come from Callaway and the gym is located off of Thomas Drive, close to the bridge.
If traveling isn't your thing, they offer half year cheer with minimal travel. If traveling is fun, their elite team competes 8 times!
Both of my athletes love this gym and the coaches!! Couldn't imagine being anywhere else!!

Not every gym is for every cheerleader! But I’m gonna tell you a little about this gym from my personal experience and opinion. My daughter has been cheering competitively since she was 5 years old. This is her 7th year/season. She has cheered at a couple other gyms. But the year we decided to give this gym a try, was the year that being at the “wrong” gym, almost ruined my daughter’s love for this sport. We had heard about this gym and knew they were fairly new. Also at the time, had a smaller gym area. It didn’t “Look” like a gym that was amazing on the outside. But from the moment my daughter started cheering here, she was immediately welcomed with open arms, and not just from every single coach, but from every single athlete! And now that is rare! Sure you expect the coaches to be welcoming, but not always the kids. My daughter is going on her 2nd season with this gym, and she has felt Loved and accepted every single moment!!! She has gained so much confidence that she is excelling beautifully in this sport! And made so many forever friends!! I remember the first time a coach tried to correct her technique in a certain skill, i immediately like I was making a mistake. But the coach took the time to explain to me, her parent, what the issue was. And that ONE correction, changed everything for the better! You have to know that technique in the beginning tumbling, sets the foundation for everything you child will do. If the beginning level skills aren’t correct, it makes it impossible to grow in your skills correctly, then that affects your confidence. And without confidence, it’s impossible!! Tumbling is 90% mental(yes I heard that from another amazing coach at another gym years ago, and HE was right)! The Moral of the story is, I would have never thought that this would have been “our” gym. This gym is ran by some just Humble and kind, military Veteran families! They have started from nothing and are on the way to building an Amazing program! They are moving out that tiny gym to a Huge amazing new gym! They are literally buying a huge new building, putting everything they have into the program, because they believe in their athletes, and truly have the love for this sport! You can see that love through their athletes. I have NEVER in all the time and multiple teams every season my child competes on(yes she did 3 teams last season! 2 this season), ever saw any kind of bullying or a child being left out. And I’m not just saying that. That’s part of the reason we feel in love with this program. The kids are AMAZING, Hard working, amazing athletes, and just genuinely KIND!! And now I’m not putting down any other gyms. Like I said, not every gym is for every athlete and their family. You have got to find your own. But I highly recommend giving this program a chance, if your looking for somewhere where your child feels like they belong! Oh and I can’t end this without giving the “gym Parents” a shout out!! I love them all!! We really do have some great families at this gym!!! Everyone just gets along so well, and that really shows through watching how great the athletes get along and work together 🩷

If you are looking for a great comp cheer venue look no further. The coaches, the skill level and the events are amazing. Expect to become part of the local cheer family here and we especially like that the coaches push these athletes to develop and become better each and every practice. My daughter has been kicked out because I asked for coach Kelli and couch jeane to be a bit nicer towards My kid. Choach Erica told me I’m the only parent complaining about the way the yell at my daughter and that I been removed from the program. My daughter is crying in her room and this is just from being a concerned mother asking for help. Why is my daughter removed from the program if I’m only asking to please have a bit of a nicer tone once in a while? Also, she said that I was making accusations while all I was asking is can they have a better tone towards an11 years old? They can’t take negative feedback when they are doing something wrong. Coaching doesn’t have to be 100% miserable all the time! Affordable cheer? Yea if you want to make your daughter’s life miserable. As a parent I will do any sacrifice to see my kids happy, but spending more than 2k to have them yell at her non stop it’s ridicules. They need a chill pill! Plus after a week and a half from posting this review I still get messages from parents friends of the coaches, trying to make me feel bad about my review. I repeat myself, I asked them to have a nicer tone towards my daughter I didn’t asked them to donate a lung! They won’t stop commenting and messaging it’s starting to feel like a threat. This is getting even more sketchy. I left this story behind and moved on but apparently the bad feedback hurt them to the point the have their friends send me nasty comments. I won’t remove my review so you’re wasting your time!

So happy we found this cheer squad! Our daughter has grown as an athlete in a concise amount of time. Practices are enjoyable, challenging, and well organized. There seems to be very little wasted time, which is impressive when you have so many kids in one room!

The coaches are easy to reach, extremely responsive, and easy to talk to. If you are looking for a competition cheer squad, I can recommend the Hurricane enough.

Hands down the best cheer organization in town (and most affordable). These coaches are non-paid volunteers and are amazing at what they do. I am grateful for the love and support they have given my daughter. She is always learning new skills and her squad consistently places 1st in competitions.

Anyone who says otherwise has no clue what they are talking about. As parents we sign contracts regarding cheerleader and parent behavior, because of that its a toxic free environment. I would recommend Panhandle Hurricane Cheer to anyone who wants their daughter to be pushed not only to succeed on the cheer floor but also in life.
