We are now in our second year at this studio, and my daughter’s love for dance has truly been restored. From the very first day, we were welcomed with open arms, and that feeling of belonging has only grown stronger.
The passion and involvement of the owner and her family shine through in everything they do. Another thing we value is how accessible the owner is. If you have a question or need guidance, she is always willing to help and genuinely wants each dancer and family to feel supported.
What sets this studio apart is the balance it creates. Fun and camaraderie are always encouraged, while there is also a strong emphasis on preparedness, development, and growth. This combination has made such a positive impact on my daughter’s confidence and progress.
We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for her to dance and grow.

I danced here for 5 years and right when I got my award I left the place I’m so glad that I left. I don’t recommend this studio at all. First of all, this studio only cares about the competition team. Most of the events they have at the studio is only for company and they leave everyone else out. They treat company so much better but they treat you like crap if you’re not in company. The only event you can do if you’re not in company is spirit week. Second of all, most of the teachers are so mean. One of the hiphop teachers only care about the company and he doesn’t care what happens to the rest of the kids. One time I almost got kicked out of recital because I didn’t have a hair piece but one of the competition members didn’t have one and they didn’t even care. This studio has a lot of favoritism and there is so much more.

Performers Edge Dance Center has been my three daughters dance studio since 2012, the staff is very talented, knowledgeable and professional which translates to a very successful dance environment which has made my daughters happy, learning new skills and proud of what they can do. I'm happy to have PEDC as our dance center and would highly recommend it to others.

My daughter has been dancing here for 6 years (so far). The staff and atmosphere at Performer’s Edge is always positive and welcoming. A variety of dance styles are offered! There is an abundance of information available as long as you know how to read the class schedules and recital packet. Just like anything in life, what you get out of it depends on what you put into it. We will continue to attend PEDC for the foreseeable future. The family atmosphere between the older dancers and younger ones is so special. The older group is really encouraged to be great role models for the littles. PEDC is hard at work creating the next generation of artist/athletes who are ALSO good people.

Toxic ownership, strongly recommend Ace dance project for a healthy environment for your dancer to and flourish. Google "red flags for dance studios" PEDC checks nearly every box. The teachers mean well but ownership is soul crushing bad. They will withhold thousands of dollars in scholarships earned and paid for by dancers to try and force dancers to stay. Even that wasn't enough and a good chunk of their competitive team walked out the door to find studios who appreciate and respect them.

It's my favorite time of the year... recital time! So why not leave a review? Both of my daughters have been in dance with PEDC since they were 18 months-2 years old. We started in mommy and me and every year I am blown away with the studio, the classes, the various teachers knowing my girls by their first name, the show that gets put on at the end of the year, and the continuous quick and easy communication when we need a question answered. My daughters have grown and continue to grow as dancers thanks to Mrs. Amie, Mr. Jim and their teachers and staff. We are looking forward to this weekend's recital and a new year of classes and experiences for 2025-2026!

PEDC
“MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE A MORE INVOLVED FATHER” This is what was told to my husband when we were trying to find out information on their spring show. I’ll give some background. My husband works at home, at the time I didn’t. I would leave the house at 6 am and get home around 7 pm. My husband gets the kids up and ready for school, takes them to school and picks them up from school. He would also take each of the two kids back and forth to different events and practice sessions they have, often on the same night. On off days, I car pool as well. It’s how our family functions, my husband does more than most people in general! Neither of us ever sit in the waiting room watching the 1980’s quality TV with screens so small you can’t tell which child is your own while other kids run amuck.
I received a text that the cheer class didn’t have class the Thursday prior to recital. I called PEDC to see if our daughters other class was cancelled as well. The person answering the phone said it’s on the schedule, it should be going. I think I’m talking to the front desk. I ask her to check, at the time I’d started a new job and couldn’t just leave to take my daughter if there was no class. She said she’d check. Came back, she didn’t know. I called back later, thinking the front person should have a break in between classes and should have been able to find out. She still didn’t know. My husband then calls. We keep getting the run around, we don’t understand how the front desk has no idea. She keeps saying it’s on the schedule, class is on. Finally, the owners husband returns my husbands message. He ask the question for clarification. This “person” was such a major jerk. Said he was far to busy to be answering out questions and “Maybe you should be a more involved father” and you would have known the answer. We find out at this point the person answering the phone was an answering service. Had she identified herself as such, the conversation would have been much different, not to mention a big clue, that yes, both classes were not happening since no one was at the school. The husband proceeded to barat my husband further and ended up telling him to not come to the recital.
Other issues with the school. The one and only time we ever had one of the instructors talk to either of us, as we would go in to pick her up and wait the last few minutes of the class, was when Sarah came out and basically yelled at my husband that my daughter needed to be in a different outfit. No, hello are you X dad, I’m Sarah her instructor… Just full on nasty “She needs to be wearing a leotard”.
Our daughter was a student for over a year. We did multiple camps the first year and had her signed up for three camps just after the recital. All of which we immediately cancelled and they were refunded. The environment was unfriendly. We are not “dance mom’s” nor do we want to be and unless you are and want to full on go all out to do the dance company, you are a no body and they treat you that way!
The funny thing is, watching the progress of my daughter, the things that she improved upon and she improved on them by leaps and bounds where the things she was learning from YouTube that they weren’t even teaching in her class. What a waste of money that place turned out to be.
So if you want to spend a ton of money and be treated like crap and then told to be a more involved parent… I’d recommend this crap show of a school. If you want to be treated like the good human you are, run away! I’d give negative stars if I could. Also, I had many people, after posting my story, reach out to me and tell me they had similar experiences here. So, it wasn’t just our “uninvolved” selves!
Thanks for making my husband and myself so upset that he absolutely refused to go to the recital because he didn't want to see "the husband" (because I'm not calling him here what we really call him). The guy that goes all out for his kids didn't get to see his daughter perform because of some power hungry jerk that couldn't answer a question.

This is my daughter’s second year at PEDC. Not only has PEDC helped and taught my daughter some dance lessons, it is also teaching her the enrichment of the arts. It has helped my daughter develop and socialize better. My daughter has a new found appreciation of music and dance. It helps her also with her posture, coordination, and agility.
This is especially important since schools now a days have removed arts from their curriculum in many schools.
We are very happy at PEDC and highly recommend. The staff has always been super helpful and friendly! They are very well organized. Especially during recital time.

My daughter has been going to this dance studio for 7 years, taking both recreational and competitive classes. The teachers and director take care to ensure every child learns correct dance techniques in an encouraging environment. The end of the year recital is the best production of any dance studios in the area, set up beautifully in the RP funding center in Lakeland. My daughter not only has grown tremendously as a dancer but the skills she has learned has helped with school and life goals as well. The friendships she has made with fellow students are now lifelong. We are happy to have this studio to be our “Dance family.” Highly recommend!!!!

My daughter started dancing here in 2018 and we’ve had a great experience at PEDC. The studio navigated the pandemic amazingly and was the bright spot for us when we needed it most. We love the variety of classes and camps offered. The staff is nurturing and incredible with the kids. I can’t imagine having my daughter dance anywhere else! Highly recommend!

After have been referred to this place, and considering we don’t have much options yet in the city, I decided to enroll my daughter for a dance class. The front desk lady and second teacher were amazing, but the main teacher was rude! I couldn’t be more unhappy!

My daughter just completed two years at PEDC. Wonderful experience! Owners Amie/Jim and the dance instructors are great. They provide an encouraging and positive environment with many choices of dance styles to pick from. End of year recital is AMAZING. They also offer piano/voice with Ms. Patti - also an exceptional teacher. Ms. Patti provided the motivation and confidence that my daughter needed to play the piano. Keep up the Great Job PEDC! :) Jenni's Mom

Very disappointed with the way that this studio treats previous students who move studio to better their natural skill. If you want them to dictate to you where you are going to perform and who you are allowed to talk to and who you are not then join this studio, if you don't then do not join.

As a Father being associated with dance was not what I had planned for my son. Now in saying that I can't imagine him doing anything else and could not be prouder. Over the past 7 years with my daughter being associated with this dance FAMILY I have seen not just my son and daughter turn into amazing dancers but also seen both my kids mature into confident and respectful young adults even though they are 13 and 10. The way ALL the teachers there help my son and make sure he doesn't feel as what he will say a girly dancer has been amazing. The opportunity's that my kids have already had are with out a doubt amazing from performing on a cruise ship to tap dancing outside the White House in DC. Not only have my kids met some amazing friends at the studio but me as a parent I have been fortunate to meet so many great parents that I would never have met not being involved in the studio. If I was to say anything negative it would have to be getting rail roasted into doing props lol. But all in all being associated to performers Edge as made an enormous positive impact on my whole family's life and they have actually been responsible for me welling up with tears of joy when watching not just my own kids but watching some very touching performances done by other students.

When my daughter was 2.5 she said "mommy I want to dance". I struggled with finding any dance classes for children that young that were not during the day or on a weekend. I am a working mom and day classes and weekends do not fit with my schedule. Then, I found PEDC and we fell in love. Not only do the classes fit my life and work schedule, but I have experienced nothing but professionalism from everyone there. The teachers are phenomenal with children and my daughter has come a long way. She has gained confidence and has grown into a little dancer thanks to PEDC. I can not imagine her going anywhere else. I am happy to be a part of the PEDC family and I look forward to watching her grow. I would recommend this place to any aspiring dancer.

I have two girls that have grown up at PEDC literally grown up there!!! My girls started danceing at PEDC when they were 3 years old and 17 months old they are now 14 and 12! Within these 12 years not have my girls only learned how to dance, but they have learned how to respect others, care and love for their friend and teacher, mentor younger dancer, take pride in themselves, time management, and how to be strong confident Women just to name a few. PEDC is like a second family to my girls this is were they want to spend their time learning and loving to dance !!! Amie and Jim run a very well managed business but it goes beyond a business, the teachers at PEDC love teaching dance they truly care about all their students, and want then to succeed in become beautiful dancers. Thank you Amie and Jim for make PEDC such a wonderful place for my girls to learn and grow personal everyday. Thanks for the Love, Support, and Memories!!!

Our family loves PEDC! My daughter is currently in the 5th grade and has been dancing at the studio since pre-k. The PEDC family has become an extended part of our family. From the owners to the teachers to the students and parents. ..my daughter and I have learned sooo much more than dance! Patience, teamwork, discipline, dedication, good sportsmanship and confidence just to name a few! Not to mention the awesome network of dance moms and dads that we've collected through the years! Thank you so much Amie, Mandy, Alyssa, Deanna, Leah, Jim and the rest of PEDC's staff for being a part of my village and for helping me raise my little girl. Love you guys!

My daughter has been dancing here since she has been almost 2 years old in Mommy & Me classes. My daughter has loved every teacher she has had there. She is almost 9 and has been dancing as part of the Company team now for 4 years and PEDC has become her second family. The teachers, other kids and parents have been there for her and I when we need them. I would recommend PEDC to anyone who is looking for a great place for their kid to enjoy dance

My girls have been dancing at PEDC since they opened and will be celebrating our 10th year with them this year! I was a professional dancer for many years so I was extremely excited when PEDC opened here in Davenport. One of my daughters dances recreationally and the other is on the competition team and they both love it and wouldn't consider going anywhere else! If you are looking for a wonderful studio enviroment and an excellent dance education, I highly recommend PEDC. Their professionalism is outstanding down to the smallest detail. Every performance is top notch and the staff will teach your child to their highest potential.

This will be our daughter's first and last yr at this dance center. The teachers are rude when you ask questions and hardly teach the kids anything. They will charge you for a full month of classes even if they are only having half a month's worth of classes. Our daughter in the year she has been stuck there has learned next to nothing about dance. This place is a complete rip off.
