I've reviewed all the Planet fitnesses on FLs West coast. This one ranks as one of the Lowest in the state. Unfriendly staff. Zero greetings or byes. Rude looks from staff. Bathrooms disgusting.

We came in on a Saturday to do a walk through before deciding to join. As a past member I prefer the black card membership as I travel often and you can go anywhere. I had read some of the reviews here and was apprehensive, however, both young men at the front desk were helpful and friendly. While walking around there wasn’t anything I noticed out of service except the water machine. I was told it was because they were waiting for a filter to be changed. Both bathrooms were clean and nothing out of service there either. Overall, after asking a current member who was working out their thoughts, this is a good, clean place to workout.

Honest review, the good, the bad and the reality. First the good - a great membership price, 24 hours open with a great holiday schedule, great variety of machines, a good volume of dumbbells/free weights and benches so you don't have to wait, the kettles are numerically arranged every morning and amazing space with attention to organization of the muscle groups. Small details like these show a great management/staff. Now the bad - the pictures below speak for themselves because I don't like writing negative reviews for businesses. The reality - these conditions are because majority of the people that come here obviously do not know about gym etiquette nor gym behavior. I have seen staff here cleaning and making repairs but honestly, they can't keep up with this ridiculous treatment from guests. Broken machines are because people don't know what they're doing and their ignorance is costing those of us who know what to do. It's becoming the Walmart of gyms with people showing up in their pajamas, wearing sandals on the gym floor, not exercising properly and just being pretentious with no self-respect or dignity to be decent and appropriate for working out in a gym. I don't take pictures/videos of people because I don't want that done to me, but most of these people do not know what they're doing and they look like a circus show. Granted, there are those who wipe down the machines, rack the weights properly, store their equipment and are conscientious, but they're a minority here. It's sad because for a serious gym with a more serious crowd you have to pay a serious membership and that's just not an option for me right now. I get it's a judgement free zone at this gym, but that should not excuse ignorant and unsophisticated culture.

I am a black card member and I used to lie down tanning beds both beds been blowing hot air the cooling system is not working it's been out for several months I have called in several times and I have spoke to the front desk several times and it still remains not working, both beds are old it should be replaced new bronze in beds make a big differencet Planet Fitness can you please fix the beds we will definitely appreciate thank you so much faithful member

I'm changing my review because things have gotten worse and I don't think I'll be back ever again. I just left after waiting to find a worker for 15 minutes. There was another woman trying to check-in, and there was literally nobody there that worked there. Nobody answered knocking on the employee door, nobody, no security. If something were to happen, like an emergency or fire, there wasn't a single employee for 20 minutes that we could find. Broken equipment and unsafe environment, and by the reviews they don't seem to mind.

This is my personal opinion and others may not have had the problem I have. But, I find it impossible to cancel my Black Card membership if I am not near the location I signed up for. I signed up at a Planet Fitness in Bonita Springs, FL. I have gone north for the summer and when I tried to cancel the membership I discovered that if you don't go to the location personally it is impossible to cancel using the app or online. I called the location and they said that I can cancel online but it is not possible. When you try to cancel on the website, it directs you to a page where it gives you the address and phone number of the location you originally signed up to use. I called and the manager and she said I could cancel online. When I told her you cannot she said that I could send a letter. Really, who sends letters now a days and how can I prove it was actually received. You can easily join using the app but not cancel. Like the Hotel California, you can try and cancel anytime you please, but you can never leave if you are not physically able to go to the location. Shame on Planet Fitness. Perhaps I can not understand the website but I don't think I am totally incompetent, and there was no way to cancel on the website. One other thing, when on the website you are able to see the billing history and I was billed $10.00 for a guest fee when I never brought a guest and since I am a black card member I should never be billed for bring a guest. Terrible experience.

I will never be coming back here again. All the machines are very old and don’t even work properly. The abductor machine squeaks very loudly when you use it and I know the workers know about bc they walked past it. All the paper towel holders don’t even work bc they are old. All the other planet fitness gyms have better and newer equipment than this old thing. Terrible absolutely terrible that they haven’t upgraded anything.

This place needs a serious refresh. The chest fly machine has been out of order for a month, none of the paper dispenser machines work properly, water fountain is warm now. Not sure if the owner stops by often but I’d take a hard look at this location ASAP before the maintenance becomes too much.

I’ve had my “black” membership for a few years. Traveled to Bonita and was refused entrance into the gym by an “Abby”. Terrible attitude and very unwilling to help the situation. I will be looking into canceling my membership and finding a corporate or regional office to further complain. Very disappointing.

I have been out of the country for the past year and only just got back around the middle of last month actually.

Anyway I tried absolutely everything in terms of attempting to cancel membership via the required channels ranging from customer service all the way to the corporate office but to no avail unfortunately though.

I last visited this location in February of 2024 after having signed up in December of 2023 etc, on the day I signed up I thought I was committing to a ten dollar monthly fee nothing more than that etc.

However with all of that being said, I just checked my statements and discovered that I had been charged an annual fee which was in the range of just over $50.

I was not physically in the country neither was I able to be, my circumstances just made it impossible.

I did not agree to this and when I joined I was of the impression that I was agreeing to a monthly fee ONLY NOTHING MORE that.

I did not appreciate the hostile tone the staff on duty seemed to take with me when I requested reimbursement for the return of MY MONEY.

I do not recommend becoming a member here at all, they treat you like absolute trash.

There was a young Hispanic woman behind the counter who showed signs of having a serious attitude problem.

She looked super immature as well.

Best thing I ever did was cancel my membership with this place, just give me my freaking money back that's all I ask.

This location should shut down really , your staff lack serious basic customer service and social skills, it's like dealing with a bunch of immature little children.

I guess there's no point in using your phone number to be checked in, had a brand new phone without the planet fitness app so decided to check in with my number or name. I stated my number and name clearly a few times, supposedly nothing showed up on the screen. After figuring my login info on my phone turns out the number/name was correct 😅. Don't believe the guy was properly checking at all. I asked if he could repeat back the name or number he input just to confirm and he stands staring at me, smh. Not fun service.

I love going to planet fitness as I travel around the US but this one fell short. Lockers near cardio equipment were filthy inside and most of the equipment is antiquated. Mirrors by the free weight looked like it had seen multiple sneeze hurricanes. On the other hand, staff were friendly and tanning bed room was very nice and clean.

This is place is absolutely despicable. Majority of the machinery was broken and beyond that the staff was beyond rude. The manager expressly was sarcastic and gave me attitude just whilst trying to check in. After a full year of going to here I finally had enough and completely cancelled my subscription. The manager was unbelievably rude to me despite me paying for a full black card. She made me get a guest pass which I understand is protocal but proceeded to ask for my friends ID of which he did not have on him. He ended up using his student ID which resulted in her saying that it wasnt applicable since it didnt have his birthday on it. Through out all of this she was incredibly condesending and sarcastic. Finally when I finally had enough I used some very choice words before walking out steamed that the gym I had been going to for the past year would treat a dedicated customer like this. I highly recommend for you not to go here due to that alone. Some workers on staff may be nice but your practically rolling the dice everytime you come in on whether or not your going to have someone who acts completely reasonably or who acts like there on a powertrip because they manage planet fitness. one star go anywhere else.

I’ll be honest with you. I am a huge planet fitness fan. I love the model and I love the gym. But the gym at Bonita Springs, Florida is going downhill fast. I worked out today, November 17, 2024 and I counted over eight pieces of equipment not in service. This is a continued theme at this gym. It took them over six months to fix the chin-dip assist machine . The bathrooms are dirty, and the front door is not even clean. I don’t know who owns the gym, but I would recommend them to take some pride in ownership. I know planet fitness can do better than this.

Just moved to the area and I'm unable to transfer my existing membership to this location. I've had to call multiple times with no resolution. I was told that my existing membership fees will not be honored at this location. The facility is also extremely dirty. The air vents are filthy and there was a cockroach on the ceiling. Reading previous reviews, my experience is very similar. There are 14 machines broken. Two machines, Dip Assit and a cable station have been broken for 4 months. A sign is at the broken machine indicating " Sorry about broken equipment but they are working quickly to resolve." This is absolutely not true. The response to previous reviews are"Sorry about poor experience and please notify the manger in order to get equipment repaired. The managers have received so many reports they respond with indifference.
Of course the owner will continue to respond to reviews, as well as my review with a standard reply of apology and notify manager. Just watch and see.
One of the reasons I joined Planet Fitness is my wife and I travel extensively throughout the country and can easily find a center for our daily workout. There is no doubt this is the worst facility we have every visited. It is obvious the owner does not care about member experiences and will continue to not give the attention the facility needs to meet adequate standards of equipment operations.
I am sure all this will fall on deaf ears and myself and other members,I workout with, will continue to spend our time at this gym commiserating about the subpar condition of this facility.

Multiple machines have been broken for months now. Several members including myself have brought the issue up to the management team many of times and they said it will be taken care of but has not. There was an employee that was sick but was told they had to still come in due to there was no coverage. We all pay for a membership and expect the facility to be clean (which was not until just recently), equipment to be fixed in a timely matter (well over 6 months now) and to be respected as members. Small location with lacking provisioning. No incline press machine, as an example. Also, significant amount of broken equipment that hasn't been fixed. Smith press, pull up, cable machine. The Smith rack alone, one of the typical four, has been broken for the several weeks that I've been here (One member explained that it's been broken for at least several months). The machine that is most in demand. Morning attendance is reasonably low, a good thing given the gym size and broken gear. A mediocre location at best.

I’m sitting here writing this review because I can’t do my workout. This place has 4 Smith machines, at least one of which is almost always out of service. The one here has been out over a month. There are three people on the remaining three who are spending more time on their phones than they are doing any sort of activity. Meanwhile, there are at least 100 pieces of cardio equipment that are sitting here unused. This is a daily occurrence. This place is horrible. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I am here, but it won’t be for long. That all said, what is that crud on the spray bottle? They all have that black crud on them. I’d hate to see what that would grow in a petri dish.

This PF has gone way down hill, it’s dirty and has been vacuumed or cleaned in months. The staff doesn’t care about anything and just says ok but nothing changes. The water has been RED which = dirty for weeks and they have done nothing to change the water filter. Machines have been out of order for months with no timeline to get anything fixed. SEE UPDATE (it gets worse)

This place first and foremost is gross. The men’s locker room is a veritable Petri dish of disease. The smell is disgusting and your shoes stick to the floor if you go near a urinal or toilet. The showers have hair and urine all over the floor not to mention gum and other substances I care not to discuss. Now I know there’s some responsibility on the guests being adult and not being gross but the staff is lacking which brings me to my next point. Overnight there is never an attendant visible. I walked in once and watched a female employee walk out to her personal car and never returned in the two hours I was there. The same night a female guest wanted to tan… NOPE. NO ATTENDANT. Another time a guest wanted to purchase a drink. NOPE. NO ATTENDANT.
It’s 3:19 am and I just watched the same dark skinned husky female employee reposition her driver seat in her white KIA suv, to an upright position and walk into the facility. Odd time to start a shift? Time to switch gyms. Absolutely disgusting. Forwarding this complaint to the health department.

They don't have butt machines for girls. Poor selection of training machines. They have a lot of treadmills and bikes, no need. The temperature in the gym is too low, I mean it's cold.

This is a nasty PF. I have been to PF’s all over the country. This one is gross. I go early mornings. 3:00am to 4:00am time frame. No one seems to work here at night, so I thought. Until I figured out they sleep in their car or in the office in the back of the gym. Trash cans full. Bathroom is so nasty. Truck stop nasty.

I can’t imagine that PF Managment is ok with night shift sleeping on the clock with the gym in this condition.

Love this planet fitness the equipment is prestige, the staff are friendly and keep the place really clean, the black card membership includes the recovery massage and hydromassage which are an essential part of my fitness routine to keep my body healthy and me training hard. Shout out to Aden, Malvyn, & John for the great customer service, appreciate you.

Incomparable place to workout at, particularly on weekends given to the lack of crowds. I particularly enjoyed the presence of Abby, Malvyn and John, that made the moments I stepp in the premises more enjoyable.

Tonight 09-29 10pm- the yt guy attending the front desk profiled me and my partner and made me feel very uncomfortable. After rushing over to make sure we scanned in when we walked thru the door, we sat in the lounge for a few. The whole time this man did not leave the front desk to do anything. But as soon as we went to shower, he made his way back there in the showers and went in the employees only room and kept opening and closing it like he was looking for some action or something. It was really uncomfortable like dude you are the only employee here SURELY your focus should be on the front desk and not playing hookie in the showers.
