Bradenton Planet Fitness doesn't care when the Tv's malfunction. HGT screen had been down for over 2 weeks now. I don't care for news. New employees dont even know the equipment. Just disappointed. Upside ~ great equipment, clean bathrooms, and staff are friendly.

Nice facility but trash management. I believe they discriminate against the elderly. My father, who is 85, was nearly accosted at this facility by a group of approximately 4 individuals less than half his age. He was kicked out of the gym for supposedly threatening the group (defending himself) after the group was acted aggressively towards him, cursed, and asked if he’d “like to take it outside”. The manager, Dan, simply dismissed my father from the facility with zero investigation/verification. Simply said it’s 4 to 1, their word against his. Dan just didn’t want to be bothered to take the time and investigate what actually happened, speak to witnesses, etc. Most likely will be pursuing litigation regarding the incident. Maybe staff at the very least needs training on dealing with the elderly.

Trying to cancel a membership is terrible. Employees arguing in front of everyone. No one is trained or knowing what to do. Terrible company to be a gym for all. The club is everything it is supposed to be, HOWEVER, the latest General Manager, Zoe is rude and argumentative. I took in a guest, potential new member. Once checking myself in I was told I can't bring a guest. I then stated, he's a potential new member. I was told "why didn't you say that". Simply put, I wasn't able to speak. I had to say "stop, let's move forward", then the full verbal rudeness began. At this point I said "I'm walking away". She just wanted to argue, and replied, "good, you do that". Horrible first impression. The experience left me feeling horrible and my guest was just left to sit in a chair and wait for me. Needless to say, I left with no work out and my guest (a previous member) will never rejoin due to this experience. Zoe has zero business being a General Manager.

Today, I had the worst experience at this planet fitness ever. I was minding my own business, working out with my brother and friends when an elderly man approached us and started an altercation. He started it off by yelling at us and complaining about the way we were acting and talking (keep in mind we were 2 machines away from the man, working out by ourselves) and later took things to the next level, saying he was going to take my brother (16 yo) and friend outside and “kill them.” This is disgusting behavior from another gym go’er like myself. Moreover, after we finished our workout, we went to the front desk and talked to the general manager about the situation we had earlier on during our workout. The manager then said he would handle everything and take care of the situation, but later did nothing and called my phone on our way home and tried putting the blame on us for the actions caused by the other gym guest. We explained to him that we were more than unhappy about the way he handled the situation and treated us. We have reported this incident to corporate because we don’t feel safe to workout at this location anymore.

Not sure what issues others have with this location but I have been very pleased. My account showed frozen due to scheduling that for March and have come in while it still shows frozen/payment since it didn’t pull till today and staff is very accommodating.

BEWARE !!! I am very disappointed with this location. Actually......location on Manatee Ave (NW Bradenton) I do not have too much time on my hands, I am making new and existing members aware
-NW Bradenton. Staff are thieves. They stole my $150 bottle of Armani cologne out of my locker. They took all of my belongings out of 2 lockers I had with locks on them. I was unaware that you could not leave items in locker over night. I left a business card in locker. No one called me to tell me that they bagged up my items in 2 with trash bags. I went to my lockers, and the locks have been cut off with bolt cutters. I asked DAN (SO CALLED MANAGER) what happened to my belongings. He told me he cut the locks along with Alex. I asked him if he saw my Armani when he opened lockers, Alex and Dan said they did not pay attention to items (BS). I told them they both were lying. Dan and Alex (4 eyes did not see what they were taking out and putting into bags ?? When I asked them where my stuff was, they said lost and found which was in a laundry room on the floor by the mop bucket and cleaning supplies. I said ''Really" I asked them why they was only one bag, they said they threw out the other bag (Only 1). I was so disgusted. I hope that these 2 are the only corrupt employees there ?? Dan is very egotistic and condescending. BEWARE
-14th St location: I moved into a new codo close by. My first visit was M.1.13.25. I was on the treadmill looking at a machine/equipment that I like to use. There was a younger "kid" sitting on machine looking scrolling his Tic Tok for 10 minutes. When I went over there, he was still scrolling, I used a different machine waiting for him to do something. I finished and asked him if I could use the machine. He said sarcastically ''when I am finished''. I told him he was on his phone, he said again sarcastically, ''I am in between reps. When I was younger I would have addressed him differently ! I did not engage. No manager, just a 16 year old kid there running everything at front desk. The homeless and people without showers pay $10 per month and access to all bathroom, locker, shower facilities. I do not like this location. Young rude group

I used to have a decent time while working out here in the mornings, as it is not packed and it is normally pretty quiet. But recently I had a horrible experience with Jackie Pappas at the front desk and one of the managers, Dan Versace. Jackie is rude all the time, not just at the time of the incident. She has been rude and very unprofessional since I started attending this gym. She works in the mornings and it is not a bright person at all. She has a terrible attitude and zero customer service skills. Recently, Jackie was very rude, passive-aggressive, and derogatory towards me and my friends. I had a picture taken when I signed up for a membership but Jackie kept insisting that I did not and she became very disrespectful and unprofessional about the whole situation. I ended up "signing in" as a guest with someone that I was with because I needed to workout. She then, yelled at me saying "come here little girl". I quickly told Jackie to not call me a little girl. That was disrespectful and uncalled for. I am an adult women and should be addressed as such. I asked Jackie to call the manager and she refused and kept changing the subject and asking me unrelated questions. I repeated myself and told her that I would wait for him to get there. Jackie eventually called him. While I was waiting for him to get there, Jackie looked at me and in a lower tone said "I can't wait for him to get here, so he can get you out of here" and laughed after saying that. This was extremely unprofessional and immature on her part. After the manager arrived, Jackie completely changed her demeanor and started acting as if she was nice, even to other members who entered the facility shortly after. (I have never seen this woman even smile, let alone, say hi to other members). The manager was just as rude and unprofessional. He tried to interrupt me several times, while I was trying to explain the situation and Jackie's lack of customer service. The manager was not actively listening to what happened and my concerns. He kept trying to interrupt me and only defended her and completely disregarded what I told him. After that, he kept going back and forth about the same things and even mocked me saying "Oh, you're offended by her calling you a little girl?". This was very disrespectful as well. I ended up canceling my membership, because I do not want any business with people who are unprofessional, immature, derogatory, idiotic, lack empathy, and do not have common curtesy altogether. After stating that I wanted to cancel my membership, Jackie looked back at me when the manager was not attentive, and laughed once again. The manager did nothing and stood there trying to repeat himself about the cancellation of the membership and me not wanting to take a picture. I told him that we were done with that part of the conversation and that he needed to do something regarding Jackie's behavior. He then mocked me and did nothing about the situation. This will be reported to corporate, since it was not property handled by the so-called manager. Also, the same lady, Jackie Pappas, left a review as if she does not work there, the same day the incident happened. Which makes it look even worst on their part.

I have a membership here, I was at the desk today talking to one of the employees when the women came in with her father to ask about the showers. The GM did not make fun of her dad, nor did he say he doesnt care about her fathers dementia. He told her that it's policy and he cannot make exceptions, he said he cant have a women in the mens showers and especiall cant have a man in the womens.. I know caring for a parent can be very hard and is a sensitive topic ive had to do it for my own grandmother and I'm sorry to hear his response effected her emotionally. Me and my sister are 15 years old and just both bought memberships. On the website it says you have to be 15 to work out without a parent/Guardian and just to confirm we called them confirming the age we had to be and they told us we where allowed too. Me and my sister where trying to check in like we have multiple times without any issues but we ran into a man named Brian which was super disrespectful and wasn’t allowing us to even walk in the gym to the point where we had to call our mom. Sorry for the long story, but I felt it deserved a full explanation.

My wife and I have been black card members for approximately 3 years in Orlando. We moved to SRQ area a few months ago and have been going to this Bradenton location.

I had transferred my location to Bradenton but, my wife was holding out because she didn't care for the long drive to get to this location from Sarasota. She had decided to cancel and was told that she had to do it at the Orlando location in person. This was fine, since we are traveling back and fourth some and still using that location occasionally. So, Orlando PF told her that she needed to give more notice to stop the next payment so, one more payment would come out. This was to be 1 week later. Still, no problem, she gave her notice, and paid for another month. She was told that she could use her membership until August 13th by the Orlando facility and it was confirmed by the Bradenton location.

Well on Monday 8/4/2014, She walked in and started signing in the guest area and when the manager checked her out said she could not work out. She tried to speak nicely with them to understand but, the manager and his helper said (3) times, "When you quit, you quit!". As if she couldn’t comprehend what they were saying. They were very rude, and have no business in customer service. I believe the manager may have been experiencing "roid rage". Lol.

Well, my wife, the classy person she is, didn't feel like $20 was worth getting upset over so, she thanked them and left.

I'm canceling my membership ASAP. Thanks to the other kind people of PF, it's been fun!

My husband and I have not exercised for a few years for various reasons. A couple of weeks ago we decided to change that and walked into Planet Fitness on Manatee. What a great first impression!
Everyone on staff was so friendly and helpful. They took us on a tour of the facility and explained various pieces of equipment and a few different membership opinion. We chose the one that best suited our needs knowing we can change it down the road if we want to.
I’ve never seen such a clean facility. Workers are always dusting or mopping and encourage gym users to wipe down each piece of equipment after they finish.
I just went to an exercise room in a 5 star hotel this morning, and no one wiped anything down after use.
I love that PF is a JUDGEMENT FREE ZINE.
It can be intimidating going to a gym after so long and being very out of shape. If this describes you, hop out of your chair and check out PF. Why not be the best you can be? Janie Ashworth

Dear Planet Fitness management,

I am writing to complain about the unprofessional behavior of Brian, an employee who worked a late shift on June 16th, 2024. His actions and demeanor were not only unprofessional but also damaging to the reputation of your fitness center.

During our interaction, Brian displayed a complete disregard for customer service ethics. He refused to answer questions, behaved rudely, and ultimately prevented me and my guest from accessing the gym, which directly contradicts the service for which I am charged. Furthermore, without any prior notice or explanation, my membership was terminated via a call from an unfamiliar person (who didn't even introduce themselves). Despite this termination, charges for the membership continue to be levied against me (including the new year's cycle initial fee).

I strongly dispute any claims of rule violations as alleged by Brian, and I possess records to substantiate my compliance with all fitness center regulations. Therefore, I request the following actions be taken immediately:

1) A thorough investigation into Brian's conduct on June 16th, 2024.
2) Restoration of my membership and a refund for the months I and my guest were unjustly denied access.
3) Implement measures to prevent such incidents from recurring, ensuring no other customers experience similar treatment.

This experience has left me with a negative impression of Planet Fitness. I believe the prompt and fair resolution of this issue is crucial in maintaining the integrity and customer trust in your brand.

I’ve been coming to this gym for 13 years and it’s the best gym around. The General Manager’s name is Mike and he keeps the place in tip top shape, it’s clean as a whistle, and also well maintained.

Recently had a chance to use my Black Card membership while working remotely in FL for a month. I can tell you this location is spacious, well maintained/clean. In addition the staff is very good. They are helpful and not just behind the desk. They are on the floor interacting with customers, cleaning and maintaining equipment.
I would certainly recommend this location to any PF member.

Outrageous Handling of Gym Closure, Forced Membership Transfer, and Unjust Charges by Planet Fitness.

I am furious about the handling of the closure of YouFit Gyms in Bradenton, the forced transfer of memberships to Planet Fitness, and the subsequent unjust charges levied against me. This entire debacle reeks of corporate greed, disrespect, and a disregard for loyal members.

Let's start with the outrageously short one-day notice provided by YouFit Gyms regarding the closure. One day to process the fact that our gym is shutting down indefinitely? It's disrespectful and shows a lack of consideration for the members.

And then, to compound the issue, they unilaterally decided to transfer our memberships to Planet Fitness without asking for our consent. Oh, but don't worry, they generously offered us a mere 24-hour window to cancel our memberships if we weren't thrilled about the sudden change. How magnanimous of them!

But the injustice doesn't end there. Despite attempts to reach out, Planet Fitness has refused to refund me for the transfer and has even charged me a whopping $60 for an annual fee.

This entire debacle shines a harsh light on Planet Fitness. By willingly accepting these forced transfers and then refusing to provide refunds, they are complicit in YouFit Gyms' disregard for their members. It's clear that both companies care more about their bottom line than the people who sustain their businesses. I am sure the Planet Fitness Manager who was a previous manager at YouFit has in no way benefited from this.

To anyone considering joining Planet Fitness: think twice. By accepting these forced transfers and then refusing refunds, they've shown themselves to be just as uncaring as YouFit Gyms.

I am disgusted by YouFit Gyms' and Planet Fitness' actions. They owe their members an apology, and a refund.

Friendly staff and a wide variety of machines and equipment to use for your workout. There are also many TV's so you can find something to watch while you are on the treadmill, elliptical, etc. There is plenty of parking available in the shopping center parking lot, even on Sunday morning when the church located in the shopping center is in session.

If you take a shower there beware. Last night there was a guy sitting in a chair in front of the showers stalls, texting on his phone and utterring gay advances, like "i want to shower with you", this occurred as i was stepping out of the shower.
Its not the first time something of that nature has occurred there...
I didn't complain to management because I believe thier all cut from the same cloth and it be would be in vain.

New management is a train wreck. Absolute train wreck. Make sure your memberships get cancelled. This happened twice.
3 phone calls and 2 in person visits and still not cancelled.
One guy said “I’m just a worker here”.
I said then work and cancel our membership!
Camdon hung up on me and used the “f” word too at the facility when we were trying to cancel. I rarely complain but this place is a joke.

I loved this gym until new ownership took over. The new manager is super fake, and is ban happy with the slightest little problem possible. People make mistakes, people get into arguments, people are not perfect. But getting banned from your home town gym? That is something for the books. Again horrible management. It’s turned too corporate.
