I'm a black card member and have used many PF during my travels. There is a serious problem at this location. It is way too small for being so busy. For many of the machines they only have ONE machine. For those they have two for they were always full with lots of ppl sitting there watching TV for 20 minutes taking their good old time. When they finally finish, three different people run to the machine to try to use it. Pure misery. I've been to many PF and this is the only one I've ever seen like this. I think they are allowing too many members or maybe because there are a lot of senior citizens in this area they have an abnormally high percentage of member who want to use the machines? They need to move to a bigger location with more machines! This area is way to large for such a tiny little club. They also need to put up signs that say no loitering on machines for longer than 10 minutes. It should not take a half hour to do three sets of 10. My elderly grandfather can do it in 5 minutes. Personally, if I were local, I would not join this planet fitness if you need or plan to use it during peak hours.

Broken or maintenance issue with most treadmills. Gym needs to step up and fix instead of bothering you while you're working out about it. Please fix treadmills from squeaking and dont bother people while they are working out. Put headphones on or how about the gym actually fix their maintenance issues of the machines and not bother the people using them as they are intended, i.e. running on.

Hate to leave a bad review because I come here so often but I feel like not having supplies.to keep gym equipment clean, is a non negotiable for a gym. Today I started my workput just to leave due to no supplies to clean equipment. I dont want other to lay in my sweat and I sure dont wanna lay in others body fluids. This is gross and ill guess ill be finding a new gym.

Been a member for years. Never changes. Lack of staff attentiveness. Popular machines have out of order signs. 30 minute workout room is where people go to fall asleep, daydream, or text for 30 minutes on equipment with no urgency or concern regarding the people around them and the fact that you're supposed to get in and out and have a complete workout in 30 minutes. Shower stalls are so so clean and the shower fixtures can use definite upgrades. Perhaps things will get better.

My name is Manny I’ve been a member of the Brooksville planet fitness for 3 years and I have to say the crew they have and especially the manager Cal Root is the best I’ve seen friendly helpful and make your time there a great one our manager Cal does not stop while I’am on threadmill I see him with the vacuum or he’ll walk by see something on the floor turns around to pick it up he and his staff have this place spotless I tell him all the time of how well he runs this place and I’am not kidding you need 100 Cal’s. Love my planet fitness and the staff I ve been on a long journey weighing once 567 pounds and now down to 321 with people like this what I do is now fun. Thank you planet fitness a proud member 👏👏👏👏

We had a wonderful experience visiting planet fitness today,
after meeting Destiny and Deandre.
They were really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, so we joined the gym. We also got a tour around and we were pleasantly surprised at how immaculate this place was, along with the diversity of equipment. A very nice place where we are looking forward to working out.

I've given this place chances multiple times...i can't handle the lack of general gym knowledge in this place...people just walk up and take machines, doesn't matter who's using them...people do not put their stuff back, people do not clean up properly...and the staff is so unfriendly, and so unhelpful it's amazing ....they hired a trainer and the dude just stands at the desk, meanwhile there's at least a handful of people in there at all times that have no clue what they are doing....it is a complete disaster in this place...planet fitness needs an extreme makeover....id say it would be wise to educate your members on how to properly attend a gym...back to renew my review...its just gotten worse, the workers stay at the front desk non stop...now they let 13 to 18 year old in for free unsupervised for the summer....canceling membership tomorrow

I've been going to this gym since they opened. Since under different management equipment has been replaced and a lot of new equipment brought in. The staff and manager have always addressed everything that I've ever brought to their attention like minor things of filling paper towels as mentioned in other reviews with no problem. On the subject of reviews about being busy it's only when school is out and it's like that at alot of gyms and the time you go for workouts need to be adjusted accordingly. But it is true that teenagers do not clean the machines after working out which should be done. In all I feel this is a great gym at a great price!

This location just keeps getting busier. My most recent visit i couldn't do ANY of the machines on my planned work out. Everything was busy. And mind you it was after 8 pm. The few things I was able to do I was super uncomfortable because there are kids sitting across from each other laughing and texting. No one is cleaning after themselves. The two same kids used the massage and just left. I ended up spraying down the tables because that's disgusting. I don't think I'll be staying with the gym much longer. Once the new one opens up here I'm out.

This planet fitness has to be the worst planet fitness in the country!! Now I know what other Planet Fitness Gyms do with their broken equipment!!! Some machines don't have rubber grips and the ones that do make your palms black!! Their personal sit around and text when they should be walking around to make sure that members wipe down the equipment when finished!! I missed 2 workouts because I didn't want to bleach my palms again!!! I won't ever find out of they ever replace their equipment wit better used equipment because I will never step foot in there again!!!

I used the tanning bed & got an amazing base tan to start. I was referred by a friend & got my 1st month membership for $1.07! Then I used the hydro massager chair which was so relaxing. I am definitely going to tell anyone & everyone I can about Planet Fitness

For some reason this location has been really poor at keeping the paper dispensers full. At least 4 or 5 are always empty in the mornings. Today they had a cloth on top of each dispenser so that clients can wipe equipment down over & over with the same cloth. This is so unsanitary. At least five dispensers had these today. You guys can and should do better for your clients. Health department would have a field day with this.

I don't know what's going on in this location, but it has progressively getting more dirty!? Every morning I've come in the last few days the gym floor has left behind drinks and dirty paper towels. The locker room and showers much of the same!? I know this is the patrons, but it still needs to be cleaned! I'm at the point I may be changing locations. It would be helpful if spray bottles would be positioned in the shower and bathroom areas so we can clean and wipe down areas that were going to use. I hate that I have to post this but it's gotten to that point.

When you try to cancel the membership they turn it into a debacle so that you can’t easily cancel. You have to physically go in person to your “home gym” in order to cancel, and that’s the only option. They have the “option” to cancel on website , but when you try to they say you have to go in person.. but they allow you to start the membership remotely.. go figure. Trash as hell.

I like planet fitness and I've been going to them for some time but there are things that really irritate me about this place. First when equipment breaks it seems like it takes forever to get it fixed and if you complain to staff, they give you the same damn answer, we're getting new equipment. Second, there's very little floor space if you want to stretch, work out on the floor, or just use an area for weights. Complaining to the front desk about anything get you nothing. On the plus side, some of the people that work there same conscientious. However others seem like they could care less. Just going through the motions. But then again what do you expect for $23 a month, right?

Love the kids that work here. Always cleaning and very attentive to anyone approaching the counter.

Environment is very mellow. All ages. No judgement zone is correct. Brooksville location is fantastic. Inverness is closer for me but that location doesn’t have the nice things to say about it like this one. I’ll drive the extra for Brooksville. Keep up the good work guys!

Others complain about broken machines. Honestly I see it as a blessing. Having a little bit of distancing in todays era makes me more comfortable not to mention being forced to be working out right beside someone who smells like they haven’t bathed in a week will shorten my duration on the equipment . Social distancing is still ok people.

By far one of the worst gyms who finds it funny that equipment is broken!

Literally a ton of broken equipment daily that never gets fixed or continuously breaks and what does work is worn out with the rubber grips coming off the handles and seats with rips. They even went as far as to put a skeleton with a hula skirt on a stair master that’s broken so I guess they find their broken down equipment very humorous’ I don’t and I’m sure others don’t! It’s a shame they find humor in unoperational equipment. They have 3 of 4 stair masters broken along with multiple treadmills and ellipticals but instead of worrying about fixing them they bring in a skeleton and place on it.

Then for black card perks you get 2 stinky hydromassage lounges but oh wait there’s two hydro massage beds too but guess what, they are broken as well. There is no cryolonge or relaxation lounge here either so perks are close to nonexistent. To go to this gym you should be given 50% off each month because 50% of the equipment is either worn slap out or broken. When you complain (which I have a dozen times) at the desk and by email they say sorry parts are on order each and every damn time. Honestly I’m sick to death of those excuses!

I won’t be back here because this is obviously a franchise ownership issue where the owner won’t reinvest into new equipment. It will never change unless the ownership changes! I’ve been hearing these excuses since they opened here!

There needs to be paper towels in the women’s bathroom. It’s an oxymoron to have it on the gym floor but not in the bathroom and makes it inconvenient. The staff at the front desk are usually grumpy young kids and have no manners (most, not all) and they don’t greet you. The water fountains are disgusting. They have so much build up and you can see black mold inside of the water fountain and it smells bad when you lean in to drink water if you don’t have a bottle of water. There should be mirrors inside of the rooms to be able to see yourself workout and not injure yourself because you can’t see your posture. The free weight section is so small and hard to workout when it’s packed. They have too many walking machines for no reason and they should expand it with more equipment.

I use this gym when I go to Sam's Club in Brooksville it is nice and clean but I generally use another Planet Fitness. I like Planet Fitness a lot because they offer a lot of things to work out with machines but they also have de-stressing abilities massage chairs and other things to relax you I suggest giving it a try. I am on a special insurance plan that gives me free gym membership if you have insurance for health call them see if they offer free or discount gym membership

I would do a no star if I could. Worst service imaginable on a Saturday morning. My tanning bed never came on. I called worrying maybe rhey mixrd up my getting ready time w tan time as I’m waiting for it to start. Girl with a face full of piercings says it says it’s running on her end… I ask her to please come in and see it NOT RUNNINT she says she can’t leave counter to come in I then get out and open door to room and ask her to look around corner from counter and she HANGS UP ON ME. I dress, walk out and ask her to pls come see it is not running and she then accused me of hitting the button in the tanning bed when it didn’t come on. She told me I could be getting extra tan time by saying it didn’t run letting it run and then powering it off only to lie and say it never started!!! What a sad life she must have!!!! I pay my membership monthly and have for 5 years without interrupt and purchase their high end lotions to then walk away fully doused in tanning lotion she got the commission for selling me but with no tanning! Only time I will be setting foot in this location again is Monday when she says her manager will return, to report to her horrible customer service!!!!!!!!

I gave this gym a try and left unsatisfied. It needs almost all new equipment. Your treadmills are in terrible shape, and a few other machines need to be replaced. Not my home gym, but stopped here for a workout while in the area. 15 minutes into my workout, I felt excruciating back pain that brought me to my knees. I thought I was gonna need to be carried out. Multiple gym goers and employees showed concern and empathy for me, and I really appreciate that. So…it was a terrible day (I threw my back out) but great vibes from the people here - especially the young man who helped me up. Thank you.

We were traveling from our of state, and stopped by this location. Our black card membership would not allow us to check in, and we were told that we would not be able to to come anymore until we contacted corporate. We showed them our accounts on our phone, showing we had valid black card memberships out of Indiana, which we purchased to use nationwide while traveling. We have stopped at Planet Fitness locations all over the country, and have never had a problem, only with this location. There were multiple treadmills broken, and the tanning bulbs were old and not at all hot. If I was corporate, I would definitely make this location get on board with the rest of the country. All these people that are so affirmative for the staff and feel that those of us who are not should go elsewhere. And we are being called names in a place that's supposed to be non-judgmental. and all those reviews you have the management supporting their name callink. And also they're derogatory comments around people. Them feel they should have a right to leave the reveiw. Supporting comments calling people names telling them to go someplace else, Whoever is Responding to these reviews is not following planet fitness guidelines lines of no judgment. That right there should be an indication to the corporate office.

Also need to stop putting 2 newbies on shift. It effects the members. One girl didn't know hydro were suppose to get heated when member said something. Some if the staff are not multi taskers. Or they just don't care about PAYING MEMBERS. But it comes down to the Management.

3 stars stretching it. I just joined this week,and the place is nice. The staff is like a bunch barnyard animals eating at front desk. And as a judge free environment, there is a LOT snickering about members and other staff. Seems some of them have way too.much time on their hands. Our fees pay for this. Mgr just save your time,I am not using my real name. Not that stupid to be retaliated by your staff.

01/03. It nice to know our VOICE about the eating was a complete WASTE.Its sad to see that this behavior is accepted the world sure has dismissed in morale and ethics. The mgr wasn't here the other day and this behavior seem to be acceptable. It just goes to show the lack professionalism by mgr and company. But even sadder part is I think your manager knows and he's okay with it. Which just goes to confirm all the statements he's not professional. These are grown people they need to learn to eat before they go to work, come and eat in the back. They seem to have quite a few long staff and everybody is standing around. Solve the issues. Get a Manger that is grown up and business professional. Your mgr is watching videos and gigling with staff. NOT THE EXAMPLE TO SET. There is a lot needs to be done here and we see why they get away with slacking on cust svc and eating up front. Grown child running the place only makes it harder on professionalism. There no business. When mgr leaves its a do what ever. Walked in n overnights and kid on phone with earpiece. How are you. Suppose to hear cust.There no rules or guidelines. No integrity from staff when mgr gone.too much socializing up front instead taking care business. All comes down to poor management.

12/2023 update. Walking out of the gym and Dakota is screaming to an old man. Good luck on your surgery. Talking about a confidentiality violation. These kids do not know what customer service is. And the manager just accepting to it. The problem is he makes the customers accepting to it as well. This is what happens when your boss is more like your family or friend.

I have read the reviews. And I have to agree. But the sad part is it seems that the management and district manager are complacent with the lack of professionalism in the club. You see multiple staff up there, they're huddled in a corner talking. They're not paying attention to your customers who are paying. They are eating usually all at one time. And some of these people don't know what customer services to multitask. What I can't believe the most is hearing,A manager going to take home young girls. And it hasn't been the first time. Obviously, the line of business and personal have been crossed in this club, and the district manager has turned yhw head to this matter as well. it seems as much as it is addressed as either being overlooked. Or there's just too much family along the management. These are supposed to be adults at the desk. They are being treated like children by the manager.

All the employees who work here are helpful and kind. There are some people who leave reviews that come from fake accounts. It is sad for those people who have nothing going on in their own life to be so bored to make comments about people they do not even know. What is also sad is the fact that they do not even have enough courage to stand behind what they review. If you are going to take big step and leave a comment, you should be big. I see by your reviews you are small. Go somewhere with small minded opinions and stay there. I am not sure if you were taught this but if you have nothing nice to say keep it to yourself. No one likes a Debbie downer.

This is my all time favorite gym!! The staff are always so nice and courteous. I have never had any issues with any of the members or staff. There is a variety of equipment and they are all inclusive and judgment free. I see a lot of bad reviews here and all I have to say is if you don’t like the place, find another gym! There’s one on Spring Hill Drive if you don’t like the one on Cortez. I’m just saying!

122623 I have the perfect idea. In order to pay for an outside keypad and give customers more access to the gym, especially during holidays, cut the staff. We don't need 4-5 people in there doing nothing at the desk.
12/23. I have been to several planet fitness in my travels. Cortez is the worst for upkeep by staff.
Last visit 3 different paper towels ran out. They WAIT rather than make sure it doesn't happen. Spa benefits are out dated and we pay extra for it. Maybe cut some the slacking staff. No reason to see 3 to 4 people standing around at front desk. Use that money to make thing better for the members.

PF CORTEZ. staff has got very complacent in making people wait . Eating in front us, taking long time with other duties and not calling for help. Make the customer wait has become the motto here. Not comfortable with Manger. Seems too close to staff to be fair. Family and business do not mix.

There is this god awful large woman in a walker that just berates the staff in the front of the building and stays for hours. She screams obnoxiously and causes a scene even if the staff are helping other guests. She honestly makes me want to switch gyms because it’s hard to watch the staff get harassed by her when they are so friendly and respectful.

I am sure the mgr will not like me after this. The spa portion of this club has been let down. People drive a long way to come to your club for the spa area.
I have been a manager in retail and management in food service.
1. Club does not keep backup water for hydros according to them. Mgr unavailable you are out of luck.
2. TheCross contamination of staff eating at front.
A. Gets all over desk area and keeps contaminating. Includes them touching cooler, tootsie roll.bins, cart handles, etc.
B.could cause allergic reaction to a member
C.they don't wash or clean hands. Contaminates gloves and cleaning rags. I have seen staff not use gloves during replacement.
D. It's disgusting seeing food dripping,mouth licking,and in one case a wide open mouth of game playing, talking with food in mouth.
You have 2 people. Switch off and get out of view of the members, and clean afterwards. Even food from home in container CROSS CONTAMINATES THE ENTIRE CLUB. We have a lot of elderly and immune compromise people here WE DO NOT WANT YoUR GERMS. It's just poor management and corporate needs to fix this.
