Clean, equipment is good. Staff are friendly but for some reason they have an issue with you using the mats! I was asked today what I was doing with the mat! I was stretching! Then a machine to stretch was pointed out to me! Absurd! If you don’t want people to use mats take them out!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to this gym, and I want to warn everyone about my experience. I used to go there all the time, but I ended up catching a serious bacterial infection that put me in the hospital for almost a week.

That experience really changed how I see gyms. There are just too many people coming in and out, touching the same equipment, and you never really know who might be carrying something harmful. Even with constant cleaning, you can’t guarantee full protection.

At the end of the day, gyms are a business — they’ll still charge you, but your health is far more important. My advice is to be extremely careful. For me, I don’t trust gyms anymore. If you can, invest in setting up your own workout space at home.

That infection almost cost me my life, and I don’t want anyone else to go through the same thing. Stay safe, stay healthy, and think twice before relying on public gyms.

Older building with less machines available but it gets the job done. The staff were plenty nice and honestly I don't need someone saying hi to me every time I enter a gym so I don't understand the problems other people shared. They keep the place clean and that's all I ask of them during the closing shift. Bonus, the desk is stocked up on Tootsie rolls, negative, the members spa is practically non-existent.

I have been to many Planet Fitness locations in the years I've been working out. While this location is small, the staff is always extremely friendly, and they are always keeping it clean! This location is most convenient to me because it is the closest. I would travel on occasion to another location that had more variety for equipment, however, this location just added all kinds of great equipment, including the hack squat machine and new leg press machine!They really have stepped up their game with all the new equipment and I'm pretty impressed! Keep up the great work!

Workers are on top of their job from greeting you on the way in to saying good by when you leave. They fix leaks and problems promptly and are always kind to workout around while doing so. Not only that but the price point of this gym you can not beat. Considering nothing down upfront and $25 a month. I have been using this gym for years and have no complaints about any location. Workers here seemed very friendly, however, this location has very little in Black Membeship amenities. It is a small location so I get that there is only so much room. Just warning others. Seemed to be plenty of bikes and treadmills. Not as much weight equipment variety as I've gotten used to seeing. Only two massage chairs and a tanning bed I believe. The showers are teeny tiny. It's the worst I've seen in PF so far. The lockers look like they have been in use for 50+ years... maybe this one can get a remodel? For a basic membership small gym it would make sense, but for how big a company it is, it makes them look bad.

Used to come every time I visited my daughter. Now the fans don't work on the ellipticals. They unplugged them now supposedly they work if you go fast enough. They definitely do NOT. with people coming in and out frequently they need to turn up the AC.

This location allows high school kids to have visible, active, and contagious RING WORMS (contagious skin disease) on their bodies to work out and use the equipment. I do not recommend you use this location as there is a likelihood that you will contract a ring worm due to their lack of customer protection.

People come in by the 3’s and just hog everything up. Planet Fitness needs rules. Overrun by people that could care less about others and their time. Gym is small, especially at peaks times. You end up waiting half the time for leg machines.

Also, very cramped at deltoid machine people are literally on top of you.

A/C has been broke for a while they have portable AC units but they do not help much especially in this Florida heat and adding 50 people inside.

Overall needs an upgrade compared to other PF in the area, like Rockledge 20 min down the road (Hwy 1) is absolutely beautiful and AC works tons of cardio equipment and not the feeling of working out on top of people.

Wish PSJ caught up, hopefully soon.

This location is smaller but gets the job done.

There was a weird furnace looking thing sticking out on the floor. Property management or franchise owner should try to clear it or cover it if possible.

Staff seemed busy cleaning; one thing I appreciate with Planet Fitness is that staff stays on top of cleaning.

Crowd again will be a mixed crowd from all backgrounds. Bathroom, shower & locker space is small.

Me & another woman on the treadmill were grossed out by watching dr. Pimple popper lol but there are a decent amount of tv's and other channels.

Did not try their vip area since I was running late. Looked like they had a few massage chairs & again this is a smaller location so please keep that in mind that there isn't as much equipment.

3 stars because I've been to better planet fitness locations & this is an okay one. Nothing wrong with equipment or staff.

This Planet Fitness has very friendly staff and they do a great job with keeping it clean. It is older and showing serious signs of wear. They do not have 30 minute workout circuit and I struggled to find similar machines. Also, there were no balancing trainers which I always use. Lastly, no filtered water bottle refill station.

Super disappointed that their Wi-Fi wasn’t working and I was unable to tan. This would have been my first time at this gym but now I’m driving to the Merritt Island facility because I purchased the full plan which includes tanning.
If I’m paying for it.. I want to be able to tan and workout.
The staff was super friendly tho, I just wish they would have a better or any type of back up plan that would allow their guest to tan even when their Wi-Fi is down.

I have edited my review and went from 2 stars to 4 because I have been to the Cocoa location 4 more times since. The staff members remain friendly and pleasant to work with. The tanning bed is currently working. I didn’t give it 5 stars though because they have still not been able to get the stand up booth fixed, which I wouldn’t say is any fault of theirs. I will continue going there tho and hopefully management gets the booth issue resolved soon.

The Port St. John Planet Fitness is never overcrowded, the Staff is friendly and always helpful. Rules are followed. The equipment is well maintained and kept clean as well as the facility. There is a good variety of machines for a whole body workout, as well as free weights, and the price is very affordable. A great value for the money ! 😀

Its always clean when i go in ..and always sanitizing cleaning spray at every station stocked with paper towels for me to wipe clean my chosen equipment before and after my using them... And This is at both planet locations i use. The staff i have met aré fine team planet members with great attitudes And helpful to me when i Need them. Went in to this location to finish the sign up process for a membership I bought thru my insurance company (fit and activ/cigna). When signing up was told I would receive all the benefits of a black card so I said ok. When I went in the front desk girl had no clue what to do and kept trying to pull me up via signing up on the app. Told her 3 times I signed up thru my insurance and here way the paperwork, it just never sinked in. Brought assistant manager over to do the process, asked about bring my 16 year old with me as it was a black card, to be told no this is just the basic plan. When I asked more about that she basically told me that I should just go to the rockledge location if I want that type of membership with those perks. If I wanted to drive to rockledge to work out, I would have signed up for that. Needless to say I will never use or recommend this location to anyone, and will be moving my membership to another gym near by.

I hate to be the petty Karen but here I am. Multiple times we've brought it to the attention of the front desk staff but they don't really mind because it doesn't inconvenience them at all. There are signs that say no supersetting. During peak rush hours when the gym is packed they let people air dry their dirty laundry on the Smith machine while super setting between 6+ exercises. This means they actually use the Smith machine about every 11 minutes while there is a line of, on average, 2 people waiting for an open smith machine. This is disrespectful of of literally every other person in the gym. So take the sign down and let everyone be on the machines supersetting for 1+ hours or enforce the rules. Thanks.

Me and my wife are truck drivers so we always stop and workout and shower in the local Planet Fitness in our delivery area. Staff wasn’t very helpful or friendly with assisting to help me sign up for a membership. Referred me to the app in which I couldn’t download at the time. I ended up doing it through the Safari browser since apparently Planet Fitness doesn’t do in person registration anymore or if they did, the staff was being lazy. Great location. The trainer, Brian, does a great job at motivating people in his class. So much so, that I brought my mother-in-law with me to one of the classes. When she went to scan her card, the scanner is finicky so she had to move it around so it would catch the QR code. However, one of the girls (Alexis or Gina) working told her “if you just hold it still, it’ll work”. In that same time period of the 30-minute class, we noticed that the paper towel was out. So we mentioned something about it to the front desk. One of the other girls (Alexis or Gina; different from the previous scenario) got the supplies, but interrupted Brian to ask where the paper towel needs replaced in a rude tone.

Fast forward to today, one of the girls (Alexis or Gina; I can’t remember which is which) was showing new people around the gym and had gone into the men‘s restroom without consent or calling out that she was entering.

Besides the way that these two individuals present customer service, the gym has good vibes around the customers themselves. If I was new to working out, I would not go to the gym based on how the front desk (Alexis and Gina) lack customer service skills.

I am originally from IL. I moved down here to the Titusville/Port St John area about 4 years ago. I have had memberships in gyms in IL, and at best, they were fair to middling. Before COVID, my wife and I joined the YMCA in Titusville; it was ok, but the equipment needed attention (torn padding, cleanliness, etc). We then switched over to Parrish Health Center, where there was clean equipment that was well-taken care of. Then, COVID struck; we were under the impression that they would open up when regs would loosen, but- nope. Parrish is now strictly for rehab services only; no public access unless you're a patient.
Long story short; I decided to check out Planet Fitness Cocoa. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the maintenance of the equipment. The equipment -- ALL of it- looks brand new. The locker rooms were VERY clean; a BIG Plus. The PF folks are doing their best to keep this place as clean as possible. And- in these COVID times- their mask policy is fair. You have to wear your mask if you're just walking about, but if you're actively exercising, you can take it off.
I've seen a few posts about the plans- some folks were a bit disgruntled about having to pay if they cancelled their memberships before the end of their contract period. All I can say is- READ your contract before you sign it. If you have questions- ASK- that's what the PF Folks are there to do; answer questions and help. My PF rep answered any question I had and I was able to sign on to the No Committment plan. I signed that contract with 1. ALL questions answered and 2. both eyes open.
I was so impressed with the place that my wife joined, too. We are both very happy with our decisions and look forward to good experiences at Planet Fitness Cocoa.
If I had any gripe, it is with the PF Mobile App. Sure, it's handy for your initial sign-up and to check in when you go in for your session; But- as far as keeping track of your sessions (ESPECIALLY if you use the machines)- that's a big negatory, good buddy. You're better off with the old-fashioned pencil-and-paper routine.
PS- Planet Fitness gives a nice Military Discount when you first sign up with a good discount with the Start-Up fee; another plus I could not find anywhere else! Since my wife and I are both Vets- that's a big Hell YEAH! Way to go, PF!

Nice, helpful and friendly staff. It was not very crowded, and the place was fairly clean. The vast majority of the equipment was in proper working order (there will always be something that needs servicing). The only thing preventing 5 stars was that that men's locker room is very basic, there is no scale, and one of the two showers did not have a shower curtain. For what it is, though, this Planet Fitness location is very nice.

My husband and I usually drive an hour to new Smyrna to avoid this Planet Fitness. It’s good for cardio machines and weights, but still not a whole lot available if it’s busy. No great area of stretching/abs, and the locker rooms are not the nicest. 10/10 for cleanliness and friendly staff though.
