Trying to cancel a membership with this company is an absolute nightmare. I first called and was told to send an email, which I did—twice—but my membership was never canceled. It’s now been seven months, and they’ve continued to charge me.

The only “options” they give are to show up in person (the gym is three hours away from where I live) or send a certified email—both unreasonable in today’s world. Yes, they have an app, which I use, but there is no way to cancel through it.

This is clearly a business built on junk fees and deceptive practices. I’m convinced they rely on a model where clients who want to cancel simply give up, and the company keeps charging them. Completely unacceptable.

I will be reporting this to the proper authorities. It should not be this difficult to cancel a membership in this day and age. Stay away from this company.

Best location in south Florida, machines are always clean, tanning booths are mint every time, and the staff greet you right when you come in. Weekend nights are quiet and I love how this locations lighting is a little dimmer than the bright fluorescent lights in other locations.

I love how empty it is at 10 pm. usually 2-4 guests there quiet and seem more into their workout. They have a shower and one of few I've gone to with a rowing machine. I map after the gym & by 4 am it gets packed.

This gym in particular is amazing. It’s always so clean and the staff is so friendly! The young girl at the front with the pixie cut always gives me the sweetest smile when I go in! You need more employees like her. This gym also has one of the few public bathrooms i’m comfortable using. Very clean.

This place is ok. The manager lady in the mornings is really nice and that’s the only time I see someone actually working. I read a review about a pixie cut girl watching the cameras and I cant help but to laugh because she doesn’t greet you due to being fixated on those cameras. Is that her job to watch the cameras at the front desk and ignored guests that are coming in? What about cleaning fluid? Did you guys run out?

I would rate this place a 2.5. The staff is lazy. Especially the young black lady with the short pixie cut that works morning/early afternoon. All she does is stand there and look at the cameras 😂. I complain almost every time for cleaning supplies for the machines. Why do I have to walk to several stations for some napkins? When I ask, pixie cut girl gets so offended! Mam, just do your job or get someone else to do it! Lazy selves!

I rarely leave reviews, but the service I received from Freddy tonight genuinely deserves recognition. I stopped by to cancel my membership at around 1:00 AM , something I’ve been meaning to do for over a month but hadn’t found the time for. Despite it being an odd hour and the system being down (probably due to the time), Freddy went above and beyond.

He was patient, down to earth, and incredibly thorough. He didn’t get discouraged once and made sure every possible option was explored. He tried like 5 different ways to get it resolved and communicated with me before each new attempt, making sure I had the time and understanding to continue. Even when we realized it couldn’t be completed due to the system limitation, he clearly explained the next steps and made what could’ve been a frustrating situation feel surprisingly positive.

Freddy reminded me that there are people out there who genuinely care about helping others — even if it’s part of their job (reminded me of me fr). If you end up reading this, thank you for turning a simple cancellation into a moment that left me impressed and grateful.
Give this man a raise planet fitness.

Worst customer service! Don’t get a membership here! Manager is impossible to get a hold of as his/her hours are 10-3 during weekdays and not weekends. I was charged an extra $20 a month on late fees and they were going to send me to collections (didn’t let me know when I went in the gym!). I had to get a new card and the gym didn’t end the membership or even reach out through email/the app to let me know they were charging me extra fees. I also went to the gym during these months and no one ever informed me of my account being in a pause and just let me into the gym. I paid $82 after trying to reach out to the manager but couldn’t get a hold of them. They gave me the run around and kept saying to give my name and number for the manager to never reach out.
Thanks to the team member who let me know that my account was on pause and another team member who was making sure people scan in and out. However, the manager was not available when needed and team member didn’t even know how to charge me despite me trying to pay my account balance off (didn’t want to get sent to collections). This is not their fault but instead management who should train their employees to do this.

One Star. They started enforcing the no grunting/loud breathing while lifting weights rule again. This new employee just sounded the Lunk Alarm and harassed 4 people about their loud breathing during heavy sets. Are we serious? The managers/owners should NOT be telling their employees to tell the customers to breathe less during a lift. The only people who feel like they are being judged or intimidated are the customers being harassed by the employees who are watching them and monitoring their breathing. I should sound the lunk alarm on the employees for judging me for my breathing. I thought this was a gym not a library??

This facility is well setup. The staff is nice. I wished they used the unbleached paper as their tissue doesn’t work as well. This is a franchise so locks for lockers are to be brought by patrons. Bathrooms are clean and well kept.

Chelsea IS AMAZING!!! For about 2 months I’ve been asking for the workout towels they had none and would not sell the ones out of the display bag I came in 9/9/2024 asked the young guy,. He looked over his shoulder for 2 seconds and said no, immediately Chelsea said wait TOOK HER TIME TO OPEN A CABINET AND PULLED A ENTIRE BOX OUT !!! The night staff is a nightmare they lay in the massage beds sometimes you can’t even find anyone because they are enjoying the massage beds instead of being in position to help!!! One lady had her friend there helping clean up and another friend was charging his phone laying in the massage bed day shift is amazing night shift could be better though

In the few months since a new GM has taken over at this location, the equipment is better maintained and the overall cleanliness of the gym is notable. The front desk staff is always welcoming and besides a bit of crowding due to a gym down the road closing, I rarely have to wait for equipment. I only have one recommendation, and that would be for another Pec-Dec (fly) machine.

I absolutely Love this Gym! From the moment you walk inside, until you choose to leave, I feel it is a very personal experience. The Manager, Leah, is Awesome! The selection of equipment is Amazing, everything is cleaned and sanitized, dressing rooms have lockers and showers, and bathrooms are cleaned regularly, and I just love The Spa, that I have chosen to use the hydro massage, before leaving. There are many other items to choose from, as well. I have shared my thoughts a nd feelings about this place with many team members from Target, right across the street, as that is where I work. My only challenge is that I need to use it more and work less.. I always feel so renewed when I leave this gym. Thank you, Leah, for an amazing experience!

It is now, at least eight months since my last review, and I am having difficulty connecting with the Manager that replaced Leah. I have some concerns about my upcoming surgery and putting my membership on freeze. I have discussed with the employees who work at the gym, at least two weeks ago, and requested she give me a call on my cell, as she doesn't seem to be around the gym as much as Leah was. Is there any way you can ask her to contact me, please? I also have someone wanting to join with the Black Membership, and not sure how that will work while my Membership is on freeze. They have the basics. This club is usually tidy. When busy, it's challenging to use a smith machine. There are many younger teen members. At times, it's like a romper room. There are only two water fountains, and they are on life support.
The staff can be more receptive. The monthly dues are very reasonable for those on a budget.

I travel through the country and visit many Pf locations, and this one has the dirtiest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. Also, the staff problem is not about the actual staff (curly haired buddy doesn’t even know how to say hi or bye / shift Sun 18 3-5 PM), it’s about the management. PF, increase the level of your management on sites, and there won’t be such problems.

Very nice gym and great staff. The place appears to be very clean and they have a lot of machinery. My only complaint would be the treadmills. I'm an avid runner and the treadmills in the gym are unusable, so I have switched to only outdoor running as the weather permits. I would have given 5 stars if the treadmills were usable.

Convenient location and hours, plenty of parking space, usually no waiting for most equipment (main issue I have is there is only one real leg press machine). I like the 30-min circuit. Equipment is in great condition, and clean. I like that the machines (usually) count reps for you. Bathrooms and locker areas are clean. I LOVE Rockbot and the ability to request songs, although you can't hear the music too well outside the circuit area if the place is even moderately busy. I love the idea of the free training sessions but have had no luck with that. Too much to write, but they haven't had anyone since like September. However, Leah, the mgr, is GREAT, and even agreed to work with me whenever I come in. A big thank you for keeping me motivated to get back on track!

I don’t really see anybody walking around and cleaning up last couple times I was there the trash cans were overflowing and I’ve spotted two roaches in there one when I was walking out another one inside the locker room dead I think they need to start going around and cleaning more especially at night time because at night time you barely see anybody walking around getting rid of the trash or cleaning up the machines or the trash cans.. and half the time the hand sanitizer machines don’t have any in it, so they’re not refilling it or the spray bottles especially at night time.

The gym was clean and the workers were nice. It was one of the cheapest options of the gyms I toured, but ultimately the membership system seemed very scummy. I read and heard a lot of testimony about people struggling to cancel their membership and was told myself by pf that they only accept payments through auto renewal on a bank account ( im assuming so its harder to cancel your membership/ ie no way to cancel the card when they continue to charge it). With that information, I opted to pay a little more for a gym that had more transparent pricing/ and membership sytem. If you're staying in the area long term with no intent to move or cancel your membership, this may be the gym for you.

My hope was that this new PF fitness center would be more disability accessible than the predecessor YouFit was.

There is usually adequate disability parking close to the entrance. The only issue there is that which is pretty much universal to Florida; almost no one who parks in an accessible space is actually disabled.

PF has not modified the entrance with an electronic disability door opener button. That’s OK - I just sit on my device and wait for someone to open the door for me. The staff and most of the members are very nice and almost always offer to help me.
PF (or the landlord) has never bothered to clean the steps and sidewalk outside. The chewing gum scars and the dirt go back years. The yellow stripe demarking the step is rather faded. For a facility that is for the most part scrupulously clean and bright on the inside, it’s a bit surprising how grimy the entrance is. All three LA Fitness locations in the area have immaculately clean entrances.

There are 12 chairs at tables in the lobby when you walk in. That’s great but they were designed for third graders; all 12 of them are very low and hard to get in and out of. There is a raised counter that I can usually boost myself onto the way out as a rest stop.
The best thing of all — Right up front are four tread sleds - 2 for PT and 2 for OT. That is probably (the PT sled) the most useful piece of equipment PF has for me.

There are 42 tread mills. They are for the most part in very good condition, but not one of them is DF (disability friendly); rather, they are all Wizard of Oz. The bars are too low and too wide for adequate upper body support.

Another important machine for me is the leg press. The two that are main line are unusable because they push the body up instead of the legs out (almost anyone in PT would struggle and quite possibly hurt their back). There is a better leg press in the “Express Room” that actually isolates the legs, but it is very low and hard to get in and out of. More so, it has weights only in increments of 25 pounds; honestly I have never seen that before; machines almost always come in 10s. In addition, the 45 pound pin hole is blocked; I reported that a couple of months ago. There is a 5-pound toggle; that is not much of a mitigant. It is difficult to do toe presses in this machine, mostly due to the lack of 5 pound weight gradations.

The hip abduction and adduction machines are pretty good, but again, they are rather low. The bigger issue for me is that they are a football field away from the entrance - all the way in the back.

In Express the leg extension and leg curl machines are pretty good. The bicep machine in there is also pretty good; the seat will adjust to a reasonable height. I wish there were a tricep extension in Express; the one on the main line; something is wrong with the calibration. Do not use it if you have shoulder issues or tennis elbow.

Disability life is all about workarounds; I do the best that I can. I’m glad for this facility so close to my home.

Is there a manger at this location? The people they hire to work the front desk are pathetic and disrespectful!!! They go in the tanning bed rooms and sleep while they are on shift. I couldn’t find them for an hour or more then decided to go look for them and sure enough in one of the room’s sleeping. This is every single morning! They are so rude and talk back to you and always on their phone or hiding in the rooms! If you want a free gym just go early in the morning it’s free you can just walk in you won’t see anyone working and if you do there head will be down straight into there phone.. if you need to use a room or massage chair check with the back rooms to find them. The manager should be embarrassed!! Go check your morning cameras for the past week you’ll see..

STEALING MY MONEY! Frustrating beyond compare. Selected this as my home gym BY ACCIDENT, never informed it was a serious decision. Never used this membership, not once, so I called this gym and explained my situation and was told a manager would reach out to me, which never happened. This gym somehow removed themselves as my home gym, yet I was just charged. Can't even select another home gym without paying an additional membership per month? Such bull.

I will never display a positive opinion of these gyms after this, no one likes a blood-sucking organization.

I went into today to join because I saw the great reviews for this location which is next to my house.

I get there young girl at counter told her I wanted to join she said ok. Told her wanted to see the 30min workout circuit she pointed over there. I go back said I like it. So the first time a trainer will show me how to use do it. No you scan the QR code and watch it on YOU TUBE! No trainer? No just for classes you can always ask another member. OK but what if I get hurt because I'm doing something wrong? Shrugged her shoulders and I walked out. WTH type of gym/business are you people running. BUYER BEWARE!
