Do not waste your money or time at this overcrowded gym. It was really nice severa years ago when I joined. Unfortunately it has steadily declined since then. For example, the audio on 90 percent of the treadmill TV's has been broken for several months and they have NO INTENTION OF FIXING THE ISSUE apparently. Wow....talk about a sorry operation. They are apparently interested in selling more memberships and making money only. They seem to not care about the actual experience of the members- broken tv audio, severe overcrowding, smelly locker rooms. Do yourself a favor and go to a gym where the entire experience will be rewarding and decrease your stress levels and NOT INCREASE THEM.

I was injured on one of their less-than-ergonomically-safe fitness stations. (There are several.) As an observant and caring employee provided first aid--and on a subsequent intervention, a nurse as well--it was my observation that the club's first aid kit-was depleted of its necessary components. This dovetails into a maintenance shortfall that has been an ongoing concern of many members.

It is unfair to place the burden of responsibility on its many erstwhile employees, when there is very little they can do to facilitate necessary improvements.

One such ongoing problem is that the Smith machines are all positioned backwards, an observation that was concurred with by a representative from Matrix. I reported these communications to Planet Fitness's upper management over a year ago. The response was "We'll get back to you." Unfortunately, that was an understatement.

With all the people paying memberships I can't understand why they don't fix the pads on most of these machines. And I can almost guarantee on every visit one of the paper towel dispensers or sanitizer dispensers are empty and the employees are just holding up the front counter talking to friends.

I put my all of my stuff in a locker in a closed bag and it got robbed. Staff was very rude and dismissive when I asked about it. Told me we can look at the video but it’s pointless and was quite frustrated when I asked them to watch. Told me to stop waiting in the lobby as I was filling out an online police report. I know I’m liable for the theft but the service was truly horrendous and very humiliating and hurtful.

Great staff, abundance of cardio and weight machines, nice stretching and ab areas and other sections to work out. Club stays on top of machine upgrading and maintenance (they just added a new chest press and leg machines) and most cardio machines are Apple Watch compatible which is a bonus. Love that it is 24/7 Monday-Fridays. Locker room and shower areas kept clean. Staff is always helpful.

Very small location. Not open 24 hours like many other locations. Machines are tightly packed into the point that you interfere with others doing workouts. I'm glad they enforce the "no personal trainers" here, though. Most other locations turn a blind eye to them coming and trying to claim territory on a bunch of machines. And a bonus is a scale!!! All the others I'm told took them out. What is a gym without a scale?!

I love how motivating and welcoming they are…but I still have a hard time getting myself to go! I signed up for Planet Fitness and the next day my car broke down and I was never able to go to the gym, I tried to call and cancel. They said I need to come in, unfortunately I do not currently have transportation. They made it almost impossible, but we agreed on freezing my account for two months until I can make it in to cancel. That was on March 8. I have a Contract in my email stating that my account is on hold. So tell me, why did Planet Fitness Bill me on my debit card this morning March 14.I called and the employee needed to talk to the manager about it. The manager is not there, so I’m going to have to wait for a resolution. This is ridiculous. I never even went to the gym In person.With all these billing issues already I’m glad I’m canceling soon.

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for awhile. My first time to this location…I’ve never had such an issue with tanning. I understand they close at 9 certain nights of the week…but on both occasions on trying to tan employees have told me either it’s closed because it closes at 8:30 pm or it’ll be 8:50 pm & they will let me tan. & they always seem really annoyed when I try to tan as well. I don’t want to say I won’t come back to this location because it’s really close to my house but I just don’t think I’ll be coming as often as I do to the Orange City location…I feel like the staff at Deland isn’t that welcoming.

It was important to me to be able to get a plan designed that matches my goals for fitness. I like that the Center is open most of the time so that it is easy for me to find time to exercise. I also like the cleanliness of Planet Fitness. Also, the app makes it very easy to see how crowded the center is and that is very convenient. Being able to visit any Planet Fitness, with Blackcard membership, is a great perk. Definitely recommend PT as an affordable way to access a great gym.

Then you be sent to collection and there goes your family in debt because of the computers games being played behind the technology. Joined for an odd reason- they had power during the recent hurricane when mine was out at home and needed a hot shower. As someone that has never showered at a gym, I wasn't sure what to expect, but there were large shower stalls, hot water, and better pressure than most hotels lol. They were also very clean and seemed well attended to. The dressing rooms across from the showers were pretty large as well. Have to say I could see myself showering at the after working out more frequently.

My boyfriend went there today, 10/4/24, to work out, he travels for work. He was cussed and yelled at by a woman who was sitting on a machine and talking on the phone. He walked away without saying anything to her and 2 different staff members came up to him saying he was the problem without even getting his side of the story or checking cameras. He was the one being patient and walked away from her. He never yelled cussed or anything at this woman. All he did was ask her to please take her call elsewhere cause he had been waiting for her to finish useing it so he could use it. This woman fallowed him yelling and he was the one being told he was the problem. He left without even finishing his workout cause HE felt uncomfortable. This is very unaccepted and wrong. Staff should have handled this so much better and tried to communicate with both sides before being rude and calling someone the problem when he wasn't.

If this Google review form told me which Planet Fitness this was, then I would have been able to give more specific feedback. As it is I will have to guess. If this is the DeLand branch, one thing that stands out about this branch as opposed to the others, what's trivial as it might seem, it always has the chocolate Tootsie Rolls at the end of your workout AND there is only one floor. The location is fairly wheelchair accessible.

I have really enjoyed going to this PL for the last 6 months. The staff is very helpful and friendly. My only concern is the amount of homeless there on the weekend. The bathroom has a horrible smell and does not seem clean. I know they pay and have the same rights as others but I am still concerned about the cleanliness of the facility. First thing you notice when you go into the locker rooms is how dirty it is. It is never clean and the sinks are always covered with water, soap and dirt. the bench area have dirty towels and paper towels on them and it stays that ways for days on end.

the work out area is much the same. bottles and towels and whatever else is spilled in there stays for days without being cleaned up.

people sit on equipment just texting or whatever they are doing on their phones and tying up machines without using them and the staff will do nothing about it. the paper towels are always out so no one cleans off the equipment after using it. PLANET FITNESS IS WHERE TO GO TO CATCH SOMETHING

I’ve had a horrible experience at this location. Management would waste my time for the most insignificant of things! The customer service that I was provided by Abby was horrendous. Making me go back and forth to my old location to make minor changes to my account. She never sought for alternative options or made suggestions to solve ANY issues. I am shocked by the service I was provided at this location when compared to the sheer friendliness and welcoming customer service I was provided back at my Altamonte location. It's good for what it is, I just wish they were open later/earlier on the weekends (so I could stay more consistent) and had a bigger area with a mirror for floor work. I filled out a survey after joining the Planet Fitness Deland location and I was a little disappointed my first time being there and stated that on my feedback. I just received a phone call apologizing for my experience, explaining some guidelines they have to run through by law and assured me they would work to make sure all their guests feel welcome and are happy when they come to the facility.
