I had an extremely upsetting experience at Planet Fitness that I feel compelled to share. During my visit, the gym’s manager, Shauna, not only treated me with blatant disrespect in front of other members, but also recorded me and my daughter without our consent. This was deeply invasive and completely unacceptable.
Her behavior was discriminatory and humiliating, and it created a hostile environment where we felt targeted and unsafe. I came to the gym to focus on wellness—not to be harassed or filmed by staff.
Planet Fitness needs to take accountability and ensure their managers uphold basic standards of respect and privacy. I expected better from a brand that claims to be a “Judgement Free Zone.”

Regarding a recent billing issue involving duplicate membership fees across two facilities, I called and asked for a manager looking for a resolution. Unfortunately, the interaction proved unhelpful, as she was rude and very short with me and the end result was a refund was never issued despite clear evidence of the overcharge. Consequently, I cannot and will not support this particular Planet Fitness location or recommend anyone to attend this gym because obviously the paying customer doesn't come first. For a superior customer service experience, I recommend the Broward Blvd. location, where Manager Mason consistently provides excellent support.

The staff at the Planet Fitness gym off of Federal highway in Fort Lauderdale is extremely judgemental and goes against the Planet Fitness member no judgement zone by verbally harassing and attacking a black card guest for using the black card membership accusations of sleeping then continuing harassment I come to relax that's what this black card tier is for I have a bad back and my siatica nerve pain is extreme so I use the black card membership to relax I'm being intimidated and bullied by the staff expecially by the manager and her lackey in the Fort Lauderdale gym by the mall for relaxing in the relaxation section of the gym! This is unacceptable behavior and intimidation within a no judgement zone being extremely judgemental I would give zero stars for the hypocrisy alone if I could. 1 Star! Why the manager wants to act like she owns the place is beyond me with this attitude is unacceptable! The members should be treated better I shouldn't feel a certain way for using a membership level as it's intended to relax and feel as if I'm in the wrong. I pay extra and being judged and harassed for it! Everyone else besides these 2 employees masquerading as owners has been acceptable the young man who sold me the membership was very talented and presented me the black card area it's special perks which is why I joined and he did an amazing job. The manager and her miserable assistant are very poor in their behavior and extremely judgemental to black card member.👎👎⭐

I just joined this gym and the staff—especially Brittany—have been welcoming and wonderful. The gym is clean and spacious with lots of well maintained and easy to use equipment. Two reasons for my negative review: 1. The “Lunk Alarm”: During my workout, this deafening siren went off at least 5 times. I was not familiar with the concept and it startled the heck out of me. It sounds like there is a fire in the building and I jumped a mile. It is extremely unpleasant and disruptive. Once I figured out the concept—that someone supposedly acted like a “Lunk” by grunting or dropping weights—I was really infuriated. How does that “Lunk” judgment square with the supposed “no judgment,” “no critics,” “you belong” mantra plastered all over the gym??? This whole concept is the height of hypocrisy. They should instead say “serious athletes not welcome”; “this gym is for lightweight dilettantes only.” I am not defending obnoxious powerlifters, but anyone who works out hard knows that sometimes the weight is a little heavy at the end of a tough set and the safest thing is to set it down quickly. Likewise, if you are pushing, a little grunt might escape. Don’t judge me in your “judgment free zone”!!! I am going to give this gym another chance, but if they keep sounding that inane, annoying and downright dangerous alarm, I am outta there! 2. Some of the essential equipment for a basic gym is lacking: No lying hamstring machine? Are you kidding? Only one plate loaded leg press for scores of people working out? No hip raise machine for booty. On the plus side, tons of cardio equipment. A few fixes and this place could be top notch, but it needs to solve its nonjudgmental/judgmental identity crisis first. Just take down the stupid siren and Lunk sign, please.

It's a good gym. Could use some additional equipment like a shoulder raise machine and an extra fly machine. TV sets in the cardio room should be tuned to motivational workout and exercise videos, not the national news. No cleaning solution in spray bottles to wipe down equipment, only plain water. Gym equipment generally ok most times and quickly repaired when down.

BUT if you are a BLACK CARD HOLDER the perks are often down and not working.

Specifically the hydros. I have been coming to this gym now for 8 months and I'd say 95% of the time it is down. 1 time it was "working" so I got to "use it". The pressure was completely down and smelled like sewage. I got off of it and told them about it and nothing changed.

That was 4 months ago.

Also 1 of the massage chairs, only has half the functions.

I went to the other fort lauderdale location yesterday and it was a breath of fresh air. I used to go there but moved away from that location.
They recently add many more NEW machines and their hydros and massage chairs are band new and working.
Very unfortunate bc that one is a 20 min drive and this 2 star location I am writing about w terrible black card perks 1 I live 5 min away from.

Lastly which is crazy... I was told they only fix 2 down black card items each month. So if 3 things are down, and almost 100% of the time the hydros are down, nothing else will get "fixed".

At this point, they need to replace the hydros....or at least 1 of them. It is a complete waste of time and money for the consumers and the company pretending they are "fixing" them each month when nothing changes.

Went to this gym for the first time and the hispanic guy at the front desk with the curly hair customer service was terrible. He basically ignored me as I walked and when I asked where are the weights were, noticed he was talking to himself then i realized that he had an AirPods in his ear which lead me to believe that this is the reason why he ignored me but when i was finished with my workout i saw him have a nice conversation with a different member, i was hoping for a little more of a friendlier face and a little more care for the members that Hispanic kid with the curly hair was not friendly or showed any care to me so I guess it’s a pick and choose type of location and I will not be coming back to this location.

This Planet Fitness location is hands down the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to. I’m talking about spotless floors, fresh-smelling bathrooms, and not a piece of trash in sight—ever. The entire team here is outstanding. The front desk staff are responsible, respectful, and carry themselves like true professionals. The manager is phenomenal. She runs this place with excellence, and it really shows in how the staff operates—everyone acts like a leader.

I have to give a special shoutout to the woman who cleans the gym. She’s an older Asian lady who takes so much pride in what she does. She used to bring in her own cleaning supplies, including bleach, just to make sure the gym was fresh and absolutely spotless. You could smell how clean everything was the moment you walked in. She doesn’t just clean—she cares about the place, and you can feel it in every corner of the gym.

Unfortunately, upper management recently told them they can no longer use their own cleaning supplies, and ever since then, I noticed the difference. The air just doesn’t smell as fresh as it used to. I really hope they reconsider and let this amazing team go back to doing what they do best—because the way they had it before was perfect.

This gym is a five-star place because of the people who run it. Let them shine!

Someone said something about the staff that is 'less than competent'. U couldn't be more right about that. lol

Place is clean and staff very nice. Would be nice if they opened all night on weekends. On Saturday there are often many people waiting to come in. Would get more people if they were open 24 hours on weekends like the other Planet Fitness gyms. Also need another fly machine-the one is always occupied. Only gym ever went to without a scale. Please consider keeping gym open 24 hours on weekends-your business would get larger. The night staff is great-polite-helpful-personable. Andy-who loves going late at night and early mornings.
