I've had a PF membership for 7+ years in the local area. I've been to hundreds of PFs all across North America. This has been my "home" gym since it opened and unfortunately it's been mediocre at best for a long time now. 1 of the 2 toliets in the men's restroom has been down for months. It takes 5 minutes to call a plumber. 2 of the 6 stairclimbers work and it's been that way, with 2 or 3 broken for months. Again make a call 🤷‍♂️ Lots of the treadmills are down or have weird surfaces on the treadmill area like they're damaged or something. The staff is always nice, but they are always just standing around the front chatting, or not to be seen at all. I went in at 7am on Monday to a normal busy level, the first paper towel dispenser I went to was broken and has been for weeks. The second one was empty, the 3rd one actually worked. One large row of treadmills had signs and was down due to insert employee chatting session here. The showers take seriously 5-8 minutes to get hot. Which is apparently the theme of this gym, it sorta works.. sometimes.. probably. The gym is usually busy, so they have the memberships aka the funds to keep the facilities working. If I was the owner or manager of this location, I'd be ashamed.

I loved this gym until the app started taking the money out of my account late forcing me to pay the $15 late fee when you call the store I’m told it’s because of the card I have and can’t be given my $15 back. Really debating canceling this membership people can’t afford to pay almost double your membership because of a stupid late fee. I don’t feel like they really care about the customers just our money.

I'm leaving the one star because of a Wanna-Be manager who doesn't understand that you lead by example and that respect is a two-way street. The customer is not always right, but the customer is always treated with respect especially when they were so kind and civil with you in the first place.

The "wanna-be somebody, anybody, see my power guy" was asolutely rude to me when he could have used his grown up words and been considerate and polite as a customer service person is expected to behave.

As a business owner, I am highly critical of other businesses and their employees

I would like to say that every other staff member here has been nothing but supportive, helpful, kind, courteous, and a overall joy to interact with. Great people.

However, he's so immemorable. I can't remember if his hair is blonde or Ginger, but he's short and not very well built. It's the best way I could describe him. He did not offer me his name. He went out of his way to make sure to tell me that I had until October 16th to come back, though I had decided to cancel my membership due to his behavior, after telling me that to my face and him knowing I live 30 minutes away ...he called his actual manager and had that manager put some notes on the account that were, a Far Stretch From The Truth.

So, when I returned today, I was almost turned away. They told me you're not allowed in because of account notes. Of course I talked to the nice girls behind the counter and they saw and they knew and they understood exactly who the little baby I was describing was, so they let me work out... But he went into the system and made it so that I couldn't tan and that's what I pay $25 a month for. And that's why you're getting this bad review for wasting my time because my time is valuable.

You could have had a five star but your employee decided he wanted a one star.

Everybody else here is great and the overall gym is very clean. It is wonderful for beginners.

Consider all options first.
Thanks everyone else on the team, I just encourage you to fire the guy that's causing people to quit.

Depending on whether or not you have him personally, address me in this response... would be the only way I will change this to five stars.

I finally transferred my membership to Lake Wales Planet Fitness. Very clean staff was very kind. I miss the the staff back home Waianae Hawai'i. I like it Florida is growing on me. Aloha and Mahalo nui loa (Thank you so much) for making me feel welcomed. Yessah Let's go!

Instead of “reprimanding” your guest for not putting a handle bar or weights back. Clean your bathrooms and load up on napkins/cleaner. This is not a daycare. I can re rack and rack my weights. Use that effort into the sanitation of the building. If you are going to single someone out for not putting a weight or item back, do it to everyone. What a joke

This gym has changed as of recent weeks there employees are reprimanding clients if you forget and leave a handle connected to the cable and there very rude when they do say something they post up right next to the machine and two or three employees will be just staring and talking to each other it made me so uncomfortable I am not going back in this location not to mention there's so much stuff they could be doing like stocking the paper towels that are always empty or cleaning the nasty men's bathroom I used to love planet now will be looking for a new place to go good job planet it's always something with you guys

Good morning, I'd like to report something that happened at Planet Fitness Lake Wales! My grandmother accompanied me to the gym, but not to train. She just sat in the lobby waiting for me to train. The manager informed me that she couldn't sit in the lobby. A ridiculous rule to avoid driving back to Davenport; she had to wait in the car! A lack of respect for a nonsensical rule.

My wife and I had an incredibly frustrating experience on just our second day at this Planet Fitness. While we were exercising on two adjacent machines, an employee abruptly approached us during a non-peak hour. They told us we "couldn't do that" because it was against Planet Fitness policy. When I asked if this was a new rule, their response was a curt "no" before they walked away in a dismissive and unprofessional manner.

Seeking clarification, I later spoke with the manager, Xael, who confirmed that this was not a Planet Fitness policy, but a local rule specific to this gym. This revealed a significant breakdown in communication among staff and highlighted the incredibly poor customer service we received. This kind of treatment is the last thing you expect as new members. It's frustrating to learn about unlisted, local rules only after being treated so rudely.

Potential members should be aware that this gym location may enforce rules that aren't listed on the official Planet Fitness website and that they might not be communicated with courtesy or professionalism. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before signing up and encourages management to provide better staff training.

On a positive note, the facility itself was very clean and well-maintained.

We like coming here and find the staff really nice was super bummed tonight when I could not get my workout in as no one told us they close at 7 on Saturday and Sunday. I don’t think I’ve lived anywhere ever where the gym closes that early I can understand 11 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday but 7??!? With a mall right there open until 9.

Not the rude, nasty, lady trying to block my entrance at 6:32pm tonight telling “No we close in 15 minutes”. I told her the gym closes at 7:00pm. I just need to do a 20 minute walk on the treadmill. She still said no saying they have to have everyone out by 6:50. So I said, “well I’ll do a 15 minute walk then. She said nastily, “As long as you’re out by 6:50pm”. I’m thinking to myself, “In the year and a half I’ve been coming here, no one has ever had to throw me out of the gym.” An attitude adjustment is definitely needed!
See photos after 6:50 of people still sitting on machines, exercising on machines, and walking in the opposite direction of the gym exit. Meanwhile I cut my 20 minute workout short. I just took these as I was walking out. There were other people in there.

I like coming to this PF. It’s conveniently located and there haven’t been too many times where I’ve had issues with the machines. The staff are friendly and helpful. I do have a few gripes with this place. The paper towel dispensers are almost always empty- not that big of a deal but it can be a little frustrating especially considering that there are many people who come here with poor equipment etiquette, and they tend to not clean up after themselves. My biggest issue is the free admission for high schoolers during the summer. I pay $25 a month plus whatever my annual fee is to come to this place and use these machines. There is nothing worse than preparing myself to be here early in the morning, or after work, and not being able to do what planned to do because there are groups of teenagers goofing around on the machines. No need to respect the equipment or the people around you when you’re 17 years old, hanging at the gym with your buddies for free. Just the other day there were some teenagers pushing each other around by the cable machines. I can understand incentivizing high schoolers to come workout, but for free? It doesn’t make sense. The gym is hardly big enough to fit all the paying customers it already has.

Went to check out planet fitness here in Lake Wales and my son and I were extremely satisfied. I will be joining this gym on Wednesday, March 20! All the machines were clean and well laid out, and it was just a nice clean bright place! Can hardly wait to join!

I like it for its convenience and variety of machines. I love the hydro massage. The hours are convenient for any day, person, job, etc. I only have one observation: on Monday, May 26th. We went early in the morning, and the bathrooms were uncleaned. It's the first time I've seen them like this.

This is the first time ever experiencing working out and having someone at this location start with me and my friend, he was being rude from the start saying can you read this is the area for 30 minutes exercising which we knew that and we were taking turns on one machine which we were almost done, the gentleman was in our private space standing there and being very ignorant, the whole time he ended up getting a staff member which came over And talk to us about the rules in that area and we told them we know the rules in this area we always pick this area because we Like This equipment better than the equipment out on the floor and normally there’s in this area. then the staff member ended up going and calling his manager lying, saying that we were yelling at him to the point The manager called the cops to have us removed and terminated our membership we literally did nothing!! Wrong and the cameras will show this. The staff is terrible even the police wrote it in the documents that we should file a complaint or contact the franchisee of this location and have them look at the cameras then fire the staff and Jamie.

I really like the gym. It's nice and clean. The staff is also very friendly. My only complaint is the music, not the style of music but the volume. I always wear earbuds and the gym's music is so loud... I can barely hear my own music. I'm a black card holder and have visited several other PF gyms before and never encountered this.

The club has been "under construction" for mold remediation for months and no one can give a straight answer as to when the intrusive mess will be completed. I had a really disappointing experience at Planet Fitness in Lake Wales. I didn’t feel comfortable at all. A staff member named Sam approached me and told me I had to leave the gym, even though my monthly payment is completely up to date. She said it was because of a previous membership issue that had already been resolved when I canceled it, but apparently, their system still showed it as a problem.

I drove 30 minutes to get there, hoping to squeeze in a quick workout before my busy workday, and this situation completely threw me off. I only had 30 minutes to spare, and instead of solving the issue professionally, I was told to leave.

This isn’t the right way to treat loyal clients—especially those who refer others to the gym. It’s frustrating and makes me question the way they handle customer service.

I stopped coming here because of one particular front desk employee. I was never member and only purchased day passes now and then. One time I came in Junior insisted I purchase a day pass on the app and refused to process the transaction at the register. This was the first time I ever heard this. I even tried on the app and couldn't do it. He was unhelpful. I ended up leaving. Another time I came in within 24 hours and he insisted the pass was expired even though it was not. He finally relented. I think he was preoccupied face timing with his girl. I go to the facility in Auburndale and I have a much better more professional experience. I don't know why this guy wanted to mess with me or is even working in a gym.
I will not be back, ever. I don't need the drama of arguing with someone every time I come in.

Started out to be a great place to workout, that has quickly changed in just 4 months of going here.

The gym floor is poorly managed! The staff don’t care at this location.

People are siting on machines on their phones for 10+ minutes, nothing is done.

Sweaty people use machines and don’t wipe them down, nothing is done.

People are ALWAYS in the 30 minute workout room and not doing the 30 minute workout! If management doesn’t do anything else, that room should be reserved for people actually doing the 30 minute workout!!!!!

On top of all of that, letting the teens come all summer this place is now the worst place to go. They sit on the machines on their phones, playing or watching tv.

I am almost to the point of finding a new location because getting a full body workout on any given day is impossible at this location.
