I wasn't made aware of a $52 annual membership fee at the time of signing up. I paid for 2 months that I wasn't able to use, so i had to cancel my membership. Then on my bank statement I noticed the $52 charge. I went to the gym to request it be removed since i hadnt used the membership, and they told me I had to call ABC Bank. However, ABC bank said they didn't have full access to my account and it had to be done at Planet Fitness. I did a conference call with manager Brandy and ABC Bank, but Brandy refused to refund the annual membership fee.
I've worked at a gym, so I know the fee could have been refunded. Needless to say, I won't choose Planet Fitness at Blanding and Wells in the future.

I've been to a lot of these locations all over the country. I have NEVER seen on before which DIDN'T HAVE ANY ELECTRICAL OUTLETS IN THE LOCKER ROOM TO RUN A HAIR DRYER OR ELECTRIC SHAVER. Not a single outlet in the entire locker room - even for running a vacuum cleaner. The stupidity!

And only one toilet stall had any paper. Just ridiculous.

I’ve been to Planet Fitness locations in multiple cities, and I can honestly say that Gio is a true gem and best trainer I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. He has a way of making everyone feel welcome and included, whether it’s in a group of 2 or 12. His energy is contagious, his encouragement never fails, and he truly takes the time to understand each person’s needs.

What sets Gio apart is how mindful and attentive he is—he always checks in on injuries, helps with modifications, and ensures you’re pushing yourself safely. He manages to balance professionalism with genuine care, creating an environment where everyone feels motivated and supported.

On a personal note, Gio has been incredibly special to my own fitness journey. There were so many moments I wanted to give up, but he pushed me through with encouragement and belief in me. Thanks to his guidance, I’ve lost 70 lbs so far, and I remain motivated to keep showing up because of him. He is truly a blessing in my life, and I appreciate him more than he may even know.

I usually dont post reviews because we all have one of those days and people we as humans deserve patience and grace at times. I leave great and sometimes not so great reviews because i believe in give commendation when due. This review is for the planet fitness in Orange Park on Wells Rd. I visit different ones justvto get a change of scenery. I usually visit this location at night. The night crew is helpful and informative. They informed me of the red light machinery and I was sold on the information provided. They attempted to show me how it worked but I didnt t have the time at that moment and told them I would be back on Friday morning. I get here this morning and requested the red light machine. I knew I had to purchase the goggles since I was informed they were mandatory. I tried paying in exact cash which Brandi informed me they no longer take cash anymore. No sign posted or anything provided to inform on the changes made. So I try to pay with the account they have on file. I was told She couldn't do that. So I had to end up going back to my car to get credit card. I requested the red light machinery and ask If I could be shown how the machine operates. Brandi said she and no one else would be able to show me. I then asked for someone I could speak with and she initially replied, " What can they tell you that I can't ". I then asked her, who was the GM or franchise owner and what time they would be in so that I can share my experience. She refused but then provided me with the name Melissa. Never had such an experience like this before with Planet Fitness no matter which one I would go to. The Employees are always informative and helpful. Cognitive of the fact that knowledge on using the machines initially is helpful.. I went into the red light machine, hoping it was simple to use. I just started looking at and pushing buttons that seemed correct. It didn't work. So I just left. Frustrated discouraged and definitely disappointed at Brandi's nonchalant demeanor. ( She is a manager)

A great number of bikes and I love their Express workout section. Also their Hydromassagers are super strong, but they seriously need to do some dark tint in that room cause it's too bright. The whole idea of a massage after you workout is to wind down and relax, but it's blinding in there. Great staff though!

I had an amazing 5-star experience at Planet Fitness! The gym was spotless, and the equipment was all in great condition. Horrible place… Still Smells of mold since I first walked in, and that was almost a year ago.
I went in the facility about a month ago asking them to release me from my contract, but was told that they couldn’t because I had a bill due. Mind you I showed the guy that they had just pulled 36. And some change for a late fee and fee.
I also reminded the guy that this is a no commitment gym and he is to release me. He told me no and to come back.
So I called people billing me and they told me I half to go up there. This particular branch is fraud the manager or owner (the black guy with dreds) convinced me to give him two accounts so he directly pulls anytime and multiple times out of the day.
This is illegal and I will never sign up with this wack business again…
Planet fitness has truly became a joke… no wonder why others are paying more money for elite gyms…
Like why do I half to go as far as changing both accounts just to cancel with them..

If your serious about your health don’t go to a planet fitness that smells like mold for 1 and to go to a gym that takes you serious and can address the situation not have you running in circles so they can continue to collect…

My husband and I travel and purchased our membership from our home location in Idaho. The Wells & Blanding location in Orange Park is the only location that harass us every time for proof of who we are even though we both have the app and a legit membership. We’ve used in several Florida locations, Nashville, many Idaho and Nevada locations. We both love the planet fitness community with this one exception! Now we are driving 3 extra miles out of our way because my husband does have his drivers license! Not impressed!

When I say I’m about to cancel my membership, I mean it. Planet fitness company as a whole is trash. People pay every month and then pay a $50 fee once a year for a club fee just for these gyms to be nasty, have horrible equipment, horrible staff , and for the hot water not to work. What’s the point of paying for a mediocre? This is beyond ridiculous and makes no sense and all the fitness trainer has to say to me is “we don’t have control over the water” well somebody does and you need to be trying to figure out why. People come before work, after work , before going to an event. It’s ridiculous to be a big business and every facility is so careless. All the ones in Jacksonville are beyond careless. It’s sad. I rather pay $100 month somewhere else than to be paying $24 a month and a $50 club fee for a trash facility. I’m pissed.

I want to start by saying I usually love coming here, the staff has always been great.

Tonight I got in at 6:35 for a 10 minute tan and she informed me they were stopping letting guests in 7:00. I told her not a problem as I checked the hours before I arrived, just needed a 10 minute tan and I’d be out.

She told me no, the Black Card Lounge closes at 6:30, and even for a 10 minute tan they wouldn’t allow me in.

I checked the APP, they’re posted hours on their doors, and their google page…but nothing states you cannot use the premiums you pay for after 6:30.

I don’t know why they do not advertise these hours for early closing, but the short blonde desk agent was quite rude and standoffish…

If they had these hours advertised, then I’d get it. But a rule not advertised anywhere and handled by a rude and short staff member leaves a bad taste in my mouth here….sucks because every other person I’ve interacted with here was great

I've been a paying member for a little over 30 weeks. I had just finished 20 minutes on the treadmill and was sitting at one of the tables near the entrance to catch my breath. When I was forced to get up and give my table to an employee with red hair because he had an appointment.There are many other places he could had hosted his appointment. I will be looking for another gym asap this was the last straw of many issues this location has.

I just had to go in again today to cancel my membership for the 3rd time. They said they don't have anything on record and continued to charge me every month. I got a copy this time but they won't issue any refunds. I even changed my debit card and they still are able to take from my bank account. Hands down they are thieves. A young lady was mopping the floor and I noticed here and there some black stuff on the floor. She had gone into the bathroom mopping and I just so happened to be going in there to use it. I had walked past the mop bucket and it was absolutely disgusting. I asked if her she noticed the mop bucket was filthy. She kept telling me she had just changed the water and I kept trying to tell her, honey you can’t put clean water in a dirty bucket…thus the black gunk that was being mopped around the floor. After canceling, they continually charge you. Even when you go in they will give you as much run around as they can. Then, they will stop charging your debit card and begin charging your bank account directly. This allows them to make it absolutely impossible to perform a stop payment with your bank. To get away from them, I had to literally get a new checking account.

This place is a scam. A better exercise is to Run. Run fast away from this place.

This PF is horrible. I haven’t used my black card membership in about 9/10 months (waited till my 1 year was up so I could cancel without fees) now they are telling me my account is past due because of the annual fee….WTH!? Meanwhile about 2 months ago I added a new bank account thru the app and deleted my old one, somehow they still charged my bank account without authorization! I tried calling my home location and customer service and still have gotten no answers. This gym needs to be shut down. If I could give it no stars I would.

I like that this gym is close to my home, but there are some issues that are unhealthy and un sanitary. I work out almost everyday at this location and I also shower after but they are not cleaning the bathrooms as far as for the showers it's Been a month and the same ball of hair and little pieces of silver wrapper has been here for the whole month which means....the showers and dressing rooms are not being cleaned after ever shift which is a problem for ppl that shower and pay for the membership covid is still going around and ppl still can transfer bacteria to others which someone should be checking to confirm that it's done I don't want to shower in someone's left over body fluids or dead skin from a month ago from leaving there DNA somewhere in the shower. Please can u fix this because if I get sick from showering in filthy conditions, I definitely will know where it came from

My husband and I started a black card membership and it was OUR FIRST DAY and we were really excited to sign up…As soon as I gave the employee (who is/was apparently a manager) once I gave her my information to sign up she started giving me a horrible attitude when I was very kind to her and respectful. “JOCELYN” is one of the “managers” here at Orange Park and she is VERY RUDE, sarcastic and disrespectful with a Jezebel spirit. They even tried to shut down our membership for no reason - To which they have no authority to do if someone FOLLOWS THE RULES. Within 1 hour of being there. That is how we were greeted and treated. Why? I couldn’t tell you! Furthermore, we took it to the other Planet Fitness nearby and they were kind and said how trashy they were. They need a harsh rebuke. They should not be managers. Probably got their positions by stepping on other people. They do not follow the rules as it is suppose to be “A judgement free zone, leave your egos here” well this was the worst experience I ever had at any gym and I’ve been to several across country. What can I say? Planet Fitness has the hydro-lounge chair that relax and prepare me for my workout . The gym is clean and employees are courteous and very knowledgeable of the equipment. TRUST, I recommend the Black Card membership. I travel and it's great to have

I signed up for a membership here a few days ago and some white chubby girl came up to me today while i was working out and told me I had to pay my past due balance or leave. She could’ve told me at the door instead of making a scene and calling her manager. I did not want to return here after this charade, so i asked them to cancel my membership in which she replied they can’t cancel until I pay. I do not mind paying what I owe, but please do not unnecessarily embarrass me in public and think I’m going to pay you!

I'm giving this a 3 stars because it just wasn't as clean as the other planet fitness I've been to. I saw people not wiping the machines down after they used them. This was a majority of people there at the time. The treadmills were positioned side by side touching, all in a row. Would feel very uncomfortable had someone got on either side of me. Most all of the air vents looked rusted and dirty. Very musty smell when you walked in.
As for the staff there, they were wonderful! Kudos for that.

I've frequented this location only a couple of time but it's clean everyone is sociable, smiling and that's hard to do when you are getting your pump on. Alot of equipment and activities. And if you are a bachelor you might want definitely check it out😉

I would give 5 stars but this facility cannot seem to keep staff. They have no trainer and the managers keep quitting. But it’s clean and people leave me alone when I workout!
