I feel like planet fitness gets a bad rap but after being a member I have no idea why! My husband and I joined about a month ago and have had such a great experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful, it's not too crowed, it's clean and has a good variety of machines. We both feel really comfortable there and there's plenty of options for every fitness level. I have become addicted to the 30 minute express and love the hydro massage. My only "complaint" is that I wish they monitored the 30 min express room and enforced the rules when they see someone on the same machine for 30 minutes. So many don't use it as intended and it's disruptive for those that are. I can finish my entire workout still waiting on one machine that someone is just sitting on, 99% of the time they are just staring at their phone not even working out. Or people will come in and jump the line of everyone going in order to use one machine, making everyone else in the workout line have to skip around or miss a machine. Maybe adding more signs would help? Simple red light get off machine type signs, 60 second max per machine at the entrance, start here ⬇️ etc... The rules are posted but it's in a very long format, so trying to give the benefit of the doubt maybe people aren't aware of the rules in the room. Overall though I highly reccomend this location!

Cheyenne is spot on with her review. While the club is well equipped and clean, the phone staring is annoying. Clearly, proper gym etiquette hasn't been learned by many. If you go to the nearby YMCA, you never see this. When mentioned to management was told that "You're older, you have to understand, that's how they are".

Staff is very friendly. Everything is kept in working order, and the place is very clean. No pressure or hidden charges when signing up either. Daniel and David on the overnight shift are awesome!

Now a year later, I am still very happy with this fitness center and would like recognize Jackie for her outstanding service as well!

Updating my review today (9-12-25) to recognize several other staff members for outstanding service. They are Theo, Bryson, and Reece. I just met Mari today and she was also very nice.

I’ve been a PF member for a while and have experienced quite a few facilities. Starting with the good, the early morning crew is extremely welcoming. They greet upon arrival and departure so shout out to those guys. They also have great music in the mornings!

However, the tvs only have a few channels which is insane. I do like to have a visual when doing cardio and I’ve been able to have that at every other gym, except this one. The WiFi doesn’t work and apparently it is a known issue. One of the team members suggested I used the Staples WiFi and that worked, until it didn’t. The ropes on the pull down machine are frayed. I’ve never seen a planet fitness let their equipment accessories get that damaged.

Also, when I’ve gone in the evenings, the young girl at the desk looked at me and turned her head as opposed to saying hello. While there are some redeeming qualities at this location, management/corporate could put in a little more effort to make this phenomenal.

I’ve used this Planet Fitness a couple of times since my home gym in Lakeland has been under renovation. Kyra & Esteban were the front desk staff members that greeted me on my first visit. They were very friendly and welcoming, which made my experience very enjoyable. The facility was very clean and had a wide range of equipment to choose from. On my second visit I had the pleasure of meeting the assistant mgr, Bryson. He was very professional and knowledgeable, I appreciated that! I would definitely visit this Planet Fitness location again, and would highly recommend it to others.

The gym in itself and the staff are fine but man the people here have no gym etiquette at all and I wish the staff would do something about it. People sitting on their phones on the machines for extended amounts of time when other people pay to use those machines too, they could use their phone anywhere else but we have to wait on them to finish their sudoku game because if we say something we are being “judgmental” and “rude” as if using the gym equipment to play on your phone isn’t rude. People using small dumbbell racks to put their feet on for a workout then getting mad when people come near them to get dumbbells. A group of people taking up 4 machines but not actually using them all and just talking to each other at the machines. It seems like half the people there are just there to piss off the people actually trying to workout.

I really like PF, been a member for a long time. Recently tvs only have like 4 channels . Another grip. People on phones talking loud, not really using a machine but tying it up. First time in Planet fitness in Plant city after hurricane Milton, and Planet fitness is open for business, as I walked in the facility I was greeted by a friend, kind and understanding receptionist, and very professional Jackie, she explained my options and took her advised. The facility is very clean organized, stocked with cleaning supplies so members can clean their equipment after used. Very happy with Planet fitness and also I should add that they are helping the community providing free showers if people don't have water to shower too. Very impressed so they get 5 stars from me.

I recently had a great experience at the Planet Fitness in Plant City, and I wanted to share my positive review. The gym was clean, well-maintained, and had a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff, especially General Manager Jackie, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They were always available to answer questions and offer advice on how to get the most out of my workout.

I was also impressed with the variety of equipment available at the gym. There were plenty of cardio machines, weightlifting stations, and free weights to choose from. I was able to find everything I needed to get a good workout in.

Overall, I had a great experience at the Planet Fitness in Plant City, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and affordable gym.

This is actually my second time cancelling my membership. I GIVE UP! There is entirely too much of nothing going on in the facility. On any given day you can go in and see high school age and twenty somethings occupying the machines while on their phones texting and doing everything but working out. Gym etiquette is low to nonexistent. I WILL NEVER JOIN ANOTHER PLANET FITNESS EVER AGAIN!

Haven't been going here for long, but I will say Recce is always a pleasure to speak to. His customer service skills is some of the best I have ever seen specially at a medium wage job. Always says hi and is rather friendly. He just stands out the most from the others during the day that I know of. Besides that I like the gym just fine. Jackie and her staff are by far the best PF I have ever experienced when it comes to customer service. I had been dealing with the PF in Auburndale, Florida and it was the worst experience I have ever had. Jackie immediately stepped in a resolved my issue literally with a click of a button. I like working out at Planet Fitness, but they need to do better at monitoring the 30 minute work out. Lots of people just use 1 or 2 machines instead of following the posted rules that states that you should only use the area if you are doing the 30 minute routine. It causes problems for people that are following the posted routine because it interrupts any rhythm that you get going and sometimes it even takes so long for them to finish with the machine that you start to cool down and that's not good.

Let's start with the negatives...
•Trash cans overflowing, almost always.
•Lunk definition is gender targeted. What's the difference between "Rickey the lunk" wearing a body building tank top and a woman in her sports bra with tight yoga pants?? (Female lunk). You'll see more female lunks here than male.
•They are ok with people having their bags on the floor instead of using the lockers.
•Some of the equipment is missing snap hooks, preacher curl machine arm rest is far passed worn out.
•80-85% of people are just using benches and equipment to sit and play on their phones (hanging out)!

Positives...

•Open almost 24/7
•Cleaner than other gyms in the area (keeping up with trash cans is still an opportunity).
•Equipment is newer than some gyms.

Ask them what their policy is on identifying as a man or woman going into whatever bathroom/locker room? I have been here since The Grand Opening Day 1 and as a Veteran a good gym is highly important. I loved this gym until new management since last year. Now the employees allow women to go in mens locker rooms and don't care."My co-worker said its ok." "I leave in a week anyways so I dont care." I complain and they make excuses. Its ok for women to go in men's locker rooms and men into women's locker rooms now. Watch your kids now at this gym. The equipment is always broke. Corporate and the owner will be notified immediately. If you want a poorly run gym and low morale employees then this is your place. When other valued members bring up a complaint or something that needs improvement it gets shut down and nothing gets done.
In reply to your response you do not have any outstanding employee's, you canceled my membership and you haven't responded to my letter to corporate. Why have you not responded to me? Another month and still no response.

Simply unbelievable took down my Google review of last month because i thought maybe Jackie might have been having a bad day
I had tried to cancel my membership after being a 5 year member ,and it was just so hard chasing her down and unanswered calls , so i finally went to my bank and blocked the account , because they wont let you open your account with a credit card it must be your bank account " briliant Stratagie" so i came back after my injurie healed and they say i owe $50, honestly i tried to cancel many months before that but did not get called back , it was so hard, so i just kept paying, i came in and was speaking to a young man and was shocked at the way he was talking to me , being a 58 marine corps veteran i was offended at the agressiveness of this teenager, anyone that knows me knows I tell jokes everywhere I go an never take things to serious , the young man had a trained comment about everything I had to say , I told him i had not recived any calls back as i had been leaving messages for management for weeks on day i called all day they said the manger was cleaning then the manager was vacuuming i said twice it important can you tell the manager im on the phone , then i just held for a long time so i called back and they said the manager had just left so that is when i blocked my bank account , now By this time Jackie is jumping in the concersation interupting everything I say. I cant believe this is going on ( she has made the comment i was inappropriate i finally fiquered out why she was saying that , it was because i mentioned she didnt call me back ,. If you have ever tried to talk with someone that interupts everything you say Jackie has done this to me 3 different times now.

I have been coming to this planet fitness multiple times a week for the past year and a half. This location is always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Always greeting and quick to help get an equipment add on that I am needing. They encourage us when walking by and I have always had a wonderful experience here. The reason I am just now writing my review is because last week I accidentally left my wedding set in the tanning room while wiping lotion off my hands and didn’t realize it till a couple days later. And I was certain it was gone. When I went in on Monday and spoke to the assistant manager she was so happy to return it to me as they had placed it in a special place waiting for me to claim it. Beyond thankful for the staff!!

I had came from another fitness center to save money. At the other place I was paying over $70/month. I payed PF $213 (after taxes) for a whole year. Since I was fairly new in my fitness journey, I was intimated and self conscious at first. Upon my first visit, I noticed that their patrons are at various level of fitness. Some are fit and some are early in their journey like me and all seem to mind their own business. I have yet to see them crowded and equipment is almost always available. I am able to get in and get my workout done efficiently. I have yet to try one of their classes, so I cannot comment on that.

The staff greets you when you walk in and they are available for questions. They have a new member orientation for those who are unfamiliar with the equipment. The weight machines have pictures to show you how to use them and there is a QR code to scan as well.

Had I reviewed them a week ago, I would have knocked off one star bc the WIFI wasn't working. However, it has been working lately.

I've had continuous issues with my account, and despite multiple attempts to resolve them, the problems persist. When I started a new account, I hoped for a better experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Everything seemed fine until I purchased some protein. Suddenly, it became a problem. This happened during my second week, and now I feel like I have to constantly watch my back whenever I go there. It's been a frustrating experience

Planet Fitness continues to disappoint. It's frustrating that they won't honor my new membership, instead giving me a deadline for my last day, and then abruptly telling me today is my last day. I have no intention of giving my money to Planet Fitness again after this experience.

In addition to my previous experience, now Planet Fitness is asking me to initiate a stop payment with my bank to prevent further charges. However, doing so could result in them sending the matter to collections, just like when I previously attempted to resolve issues with my account. I couldn't fix my account today due to personal financial issues, but they didn't work with me on that. It's a frustrating situation with no easy solution in sight.

OTR perspective - awesome gym. Quieter, clean and has good showers. Room in lot at the end by road or behind building for us trucks. Please please keep this parking lot clean so they don’t ban us.

This is a great gym! Very easy to get in and out for a quick workout. They have lots of equipment so you don't have to wait for a machine very often. If someone is using a machine you need, it is easy to just use a different one that is available so you don't waste time waiting. Good prices and very clean gym with clean bathrooms and showers and generous open hours every day.

With a lot of people in the area working nights and long hours, I’m amazed this PF isn’t open 24/7. This is the first location I have ever seen that’s not. Also, when inside it seems they don’t put the A/C on (or keep it fairly warm)… they use the big fans which are nice but for those doing cardio it’s not safe. I’m surprised somebody hasn’t suffered from heat exhaustion, especially with the older population utilizing this location.

Ever since this whole LGXYZ uprising of sin in this country, I've seen that PF supports the trans community and would allow that nonsense to happen in their establishments. I support what is right in this country and that mess is not right! I came close to purchasing a membership but since I saw the support that PF has with that community, I'll pass and go to another gym.

Worked with Bryce and Reese to tour the gym and discuss plans. They answered all my questions and, in spite of how tiny the gym is, it doesn’t feel unbearably packed. Signed up for the black card membership, can’t wait to start!

Update:
The women’s SHOWERS. What even do you call those cheap plastic covers you have up? Absolutely no. They flap open when the water comes on in the shower from the air movement and everyone can see EVERYTHING. There is zero privacy. I was mortified. That is unacceptable. Reducing to 3 stars until that’s changed.
