When I first came here 3 years ago I was amazed at the variety and newness of the equipment. Today and last week I’m seeing things a little different. Last two visits several paper dispensers were empty ( out of paper I was told) and the machines are not clean. You can see layers of dust and dirt from the top of the machines to the floor. Let’s pay attention to the details to keep this gym a 5/5 rating.

Over the last approximately 7 months the gym has seen a decline in cleanliness. The men’s bathroom and toilets are consistently dirty (many times with feces splattered in the toilets) and the overall gym equipment and floors have increasingly grown dusty. I’m not sure if there has been a change in management or change in employees. But it’s quite noticeable. I love th gym but it appears to be in decline when it comes to sanitary upkeep. Which in my mind could lead to an unhealthy environment. My advice is train staff, or hire new staff that care and conduct inspections to maintain a healthy gym and workplace for all.. Thank you.

Overall this gym is nice and clean with a lot of space and equipment. The majority of the staff are kind and attentive, but one employee was extremely rude to me a few weeks ago. He was so confrontational, condescending, and unkind that I did not end up finishing my workout. As a result I've found myself going to a different PF location that I have now switched to my "home club."
I really enjoyed working out at this location because it is so nice, so I am saddened that this interaction sullied my experience. I've been back a few times since, but the worry of potentially having to interact with this employee again makes for a less than enjoyable experience.

Been a member of this gym for years. Watched managers come and go. And totally ignore requests from long time "Gym-rats" for new equipment ranging from Free weights such as bar bells to cable machines to kettle bells and you name it.

Gym is very spacious but it is wasted on equipment that is never in use. You can check for dust nearly twice a week. Complete waste of space. Far too many Ellipticals and Treadmills.

The 5* reviews? Complete lies. Notice how they are all close to each other and mention the same people. Begging for 5* reviews is already a red flag.

If you are a new comer, this place is an easy entry point to working out. It can be utilized for your goal of "just getting started"

However, for more intermediate to Advanced people this gym is simply not it. Management is either lazy or clueless but they don't workout themselves so you can't expect much.

Employees. Are Cool. Some have been there a while and can help you out...

TLDR: Ultimately if you are serious about working out for the better. Need motivation, knowledge, and essentially a team behind you..... Choose a another gym. Skip this spot entirely.

Disappointing to say the least. Had to cancel my membership today due to a lack of response from both the manager and corporate. I accidentally left my headphones last week but someone fortunately did turn it to their lost & found. I called on Tuesday, 09/23 at 12:44pm to ask if they happened to be there and a female staff member said it was there and would hold it for me with my name on it. I go that same day around 7pm looking forward to enjoy my workout and finally have my headphones back however another staff member had given them to someone else. Someone they claim to know and also has a membership. What concerned me was that not only was there no verification process in place, the manager felt no need to address me directly in that instance, the next day by phone call or today on Thursday when I went to cancel my membership. She was present for both times I talked to the staff about what could be done regarding this theft. I contacted corporate the same day on Tuesday regarding this matter and have yet to receive a response. I must commend William, Steve and the female staff member who spoke to me on the phone as they were the only ones who responded professionally and as human beings instead of other staff members who found it humorous. In other words, pray you don’t lose something at this location because the majority of the staff won’t have empathy nor the need to take action even though they were at fault for giving it to someone it doesn’t belong to and letting that same person/thief to continue having a membership.

Update 09/26/2025.
The manager has called me but what I found odd was her offering me two months of membership for free after I have already cancelled my membership and completely missing the point that no one would feel comfortable returning to a gym where the other member was not reprimanded for theft. She insisted that all of the blame lands on her staff and not the individual who took headphones they know aren’t theirs. What could’ve made this right would have been a quicker response from the manager or the staff member who gave away the headphones to pay out of pocket as they were a gift from a relative who has since passed and at the very least not advise me to file a police report over his error. This could’ve been the easiest situation to resolve but it feels like the intent from the beginning was to be unprofessional.

"Update" 09/30/2025.
Received a "response from the owner" on both my google review and my yelp review requesting | reach out to them through email with further details. I reached out to them that same day on Thursday and still have not received a response yet. This company is a joke and not even good one. It appears that the "response from the owner" reply to my original review is just for appearances to make it look like action was taken.

This gym is filled with teens just sitting on their phones during the free summer teen program. They’re loud and the machines are being occupied (I waited 45 minutes for the hip abductor) for insane amounts of time. Why am I spending money to constantly have this experience? Immediately canceled my membership. I recommend setting times for teenagers to enjoy the free gym so that everyone can enjoy their workout. Also, the gym needs more machines, less cardio options and CLEANER BATHROOMS!

I’ve been a loyal member of Planet Fitness for a while now, and overall, I genuinely love this gym. It’s consistently clean, well-maintained, and comfortably cool—perfect for staying focused during a workout. The equipment is always in great working condition, which speaks volumes about the management and staff’s attention to detail.

However, I do have one piece of feedback. The music selection in the gym seems to lean almost exclusively toward trap and rap—often back-to-back with lyrics that can be aggressive or explicit. As an older gentleman, I personally find this style a bit jarring during my workouts. It would be much more inclusive if the front desk staff could curate a more balanced playlist with a variety of genres that appeal to a wider demographic. Something upbeat and neutral could go a long way in making all members feel comfortable.

That being said, Planet Fitness continues to be a great place to train, and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into running such a clean and welcoming facility. Just a small tweak in the music policy would truly make it a five-star experience.

I went to Planet Fitness to cancel my membership, and the process was very frustrating. A team member who claimed his name was “Philips” had me write down my personal information on a piece of paper, which already felt unprofessional. Then, after taking my info, he told me that the cancellation policy had changed and that only a manager could approve cancellations — but no manager was available. This felt like a runaround, and I’m not even sure the name he gave me was real. Overall, this experience made me feel uneasy and disrespected as a customer. I hope Planet Fitness takes a closer look at how their staff handles membership cancellations.

I have been customer for a long time, before and after the pandemic and your company is in total disregard of maintenance and what really matters. The only person who really cleans and does the best to maintain this place also providing a happy and welcoming atmosphere is Jorge and now your company only gives him one day of work. Go to your bathrooms…the equipment is broken and without being fixed for a long time. The tvs are nit functioning properly, the fans do not work and only a few workers now appear to care. Idk why anyone would not say anything about how filthy this place is. The machines are clean because people do clean up after themselves constantly. I think people should leave the accessible shower to those who need it so the water will stay intact and not run into the changing rooms. If I could give it less than one star, I would. This gym barely has any machines and for some reason, there are way too many treadmills and ellipticals. There’s no designated area for attachments and everything is a mess. To top it off, someone took my backpack from the locker and it somehow ended up in the bathroom—opened. My stuff was still inside, but what can you expect? It just had a towel, a shirt, a cap, and some sandals.

I went to the front desk to ask if they could check the cameras, and the guy literally said, “I can’t do that, and even if I could, what do you want me to do? Go catch the person who took it?” Bro, I’m paying for a Black Card membership for a safe place, and you’re telling me that if I don’t put a lock, anyone can just take my things?

Terrible experience. I don’t recommend this location at all. I’ll be going to a different branch from now on.

I’m leaving 3 stars solely because of the staff (specifically Finn and Stephen). I’ve been going to PF Plantation for almost 2 years now. I go anywhere between 3:45-5am every weekday so I see Finn who works overnight and then the other staff the rotates (if they don’t quit) Stephen and Laura seem to be the other longest AM employees.
Equipment is constantly breaking and remains broken for over a week…it took them almost 2.5 weeks to finally fix the new machine that broke. The fan has been broken for almost 3 weeks now and I’ve complained every day about it. Cleaning supplies tend to run out regularly resulting in us sharing towels to wipe down equipment.
I wish management at this location would actually take the messages staff leave and actually do something actionable. There is an absurd amount of cardio equipment and less actual weight machines compared to other locations. I’m sad to say that after almost 2 years and many friends made at this location I’ve given up hope for new treads, new machines and actual maintenance to the equipment…I now drive further for all of these things.

So I've been to several gyms, and they all are not bad, but I like planet fitness in Plantation. Dany and Michelle treat me like family. I feel amazing walking in, always a smile, a fist bump, always, " we are here for you" and always going the extra mile. The whole crew is amazing, early in the morning, late at night, weekends...doesn't matter...I feel like they're family. I've been going here now for about a year, lost now 75 lbs. And it'd because I love coming here. It's not just coming in, using the treadmill and lifting some weights. It's the massage chair, the red light therapy room, the stretching and abs room. I have my regimen and come almost every day here and these guys make me feel like I'm at home. Thanks Dany and Michelle and the entire crew. You guys truly are great !

I recently turned 70 years old and decided that I needed to get back to the gym. I was very concerned about hurting myself due to my age, poor physical condition, lack of "gym skills", and having undergone several surgeries in the last few years. I spent the extra $10/month to get the PF Black Card membership because it included free sessions with a trainer. I didn't have high expectations for the trainer, paying such a low price for my gym membership, but I was pleasantly surprised after spending only a half hour with Courtney. She quickly eased my fears and concerns about getting back to the gym, and her level of knowledge, professionalism and compassion were truly impressive. Courtney quickly turned my fears and concerns into enthusiasm, and I am deeply grateful! I give Planet Fitness 5 stars -

The 30 minute workout circle is great and so is all the equipment. The price is very affordable. The only downside for me is that there are no classes. Also,
the location is great. You can get your grocery shopping done in the same plaza. I have been going to Planet Fitness for years.

The staff at the gym is exceptional and I genuinely enjoy the facilities. However, the consistently cold showers are a significant issue. Despite my efforts in discussing this with the staff, it seems there is a lack of knowledge or initiative to resolve the problem. Even after allowing the water to run for over 20 minutes, it fails to warm up. This is an urgent matter that needs attention to enhance the overall gym experience.

I like that the gym is clean, the hours I go to are not usually crowded. You have a variety of equipment you can use to work out, most likely cardio machines all around, but still nice equipment to train. I like the staff being nice to people, but please have your employees not bothering people trying to engage in long conversations. The less they talk, the better.

Unfortunately this location is the closest one to me. The rating is so bad because mainly of that one dreadlock guy. I usually come first thing in the morning and it is LOUD AND LIT UP as if we were in a club. The gentleman with the dreadlocks (he’s friendly, but NOT helpful and VERY LAZY) always has the music blasting so loud that even-though I have my headphones on and my stuff blasting, I can’t hear it over the loudness of his music. I mean is it really necessary to have the music that loud at 5 am? Also, whenever he’s the one working the whole gym is in disarray and the bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. All the weights are all over the place, nothing is where it’s supposed to be and the equipment is dirty. Whenever I see him at the front desk I have to brace myself and prepare that everything is a mess and that my head is about to take a beating with the loudness of the music. Often he has his boyz around gathered by the couch and they are cuttin up, that he’s too busy hanging out instead of doing his job. I few times you can slide by him without scanning in and he won’t even notice it. Now I will say that the when the other black gentleman who has really short hair is there in the morning, I know the gym is ALWAYS in tip top shape, clean, the disinfectant stations filled with paper and cleaning fluid, EVERYTHING is in its rightful place and The music is reasonable, everything the gym is shining. Its a pleasure seeing him in the morning as he's always friendly and in good spirits, and whenever I am working out and he’s there, I see him working his tail off. He’s constantly working hard and always easy to speak to and if you need help, he will gladly help. Unfortunately, he only there maybe once or twice when I come in, the rest of the days I’m stuck dealing with LAZY party boy who won’t even notice if you slide by not scanning in. Ya’ll be needin to hire some better staff and that’s the main reason why my rating is so low, cuz party boy has this place lit up, and NOT in a good way.
