Male member of staff apparently deep cleaning the showers in the middle of the day (1pm) when there were female staff available. I was waiting in the changing room and he took an unnecessarily long time, making me very uncomfortable. I can understand a member of the opposite sex popping in to stock up if there aren’t enough staff members but this seemed unnecessary to me.

I have been a member here for years. Overall, it’s a great gym with a friendly atmosphere. The gym used to be open 24 hours a day, which was incredibly convenient. However, since the COVID pandemic, the hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays have been significantly reduced.
I completely understand that the pandemic impacted all of us, but we are way past that now. I am wondering if the gym could return to 24-hour operation on weekends. I think it would benefit a lot of people.

I work out there every day. Very disappointing gym lately. Multiple machines are broken and have been broken for months now. The cables are broken and not able to be used. How am I supposed to get a good workout? The vinyl is cracked and broken also. I am thinking about canceling my membership. I would not recommend this gym. I have talked to the employee about it and they do nothing.

Lately, several of the machines are a disaster. I would like to know if the manager of this gym is aware of all the machines that are broken. There are 3 of the ones that people use the most that have been broken for more than 2 months and the others are tied with adeciba tape. It is a lack of respect what is happening here with respect to the workers, they are excellent, there are no complaints about them, but please fix the machines and give them maintenance.

I go to Planet Fitness all over the country as I travel for work this probably the worst one. The GYM equipment here is not well maintained. I’ve been visiting this one often because it’s close by my home office in Tampa. Only one cable is currently functional. Such an easy repair to fix yet I’ve noticed at least two of them have been broken for well over a month. If I were the owner of this place I’d want to know to address this and take better care of your investment.

I loved planet fitness because of the 30 minute express circuit, this location it's just a regular part of the gym that the staff doesn't enforce the rules. Often times I have to leave because I can't do the circuit because people stay in the same machines for 15 minutes, despite there being signs.

Came at 11:30pm mike at the front desk was very rude in talking to me and my friend. We came in to use the massage chairs and tables.We only gotta have service because he said that the internet was down but it's not what you say , but how you say it. When we wanted to get another session, he gave us weird looks.And what's communicating with us very rude saying he already told us it was a internet problem which didn't make the massage chairs and tables work. But I observe after hour service.Are the people going back there in the massage area and all machines was working. After working 16 hours a day and me, being a diabetic with poor circulation in my legs, which I explained to him, I was in pain and needed the massage chair to circulate my legs, he corrected me and said I said I needed a massage table, I corrected him again and said no I need a massage chair that made me feel uncomfortable as well.. After finding my friend, I noticed Mr. Mike was asleep. I was so bothered and because of my friend Phil very uncomfortable. I decided to call the gym to talk to Mr. Mike. I told him I complained about. He made us feel very uncomfortable of the luxury with giving us and how he was communicating and telling us things like we were idiots that made us feel very uncomfortable. His reply, was he blamed it on us saying our community. Asian was off.I asked him.How was our communication was off!? I told him we did not use profanity.And we was not rude to you at all.So, how was the communication off?He was being ruined to us when we walked in the door. There is his Response was blaming the customer (us) call to meI'm talking to him and seeing that I can talk to him.Liking care less about how he made us feel.Now he communicated , it's customer services , terrible. And his job.
Must be way easy.I wish I could sleep on my job and get paid for it because that's what i seen him do. Then after blaming us for his for customer service, he says that he's gonna write a report on us to his manager in the morning, I don't understand that we wasn't rude at all. We was tired, exhausted and wanted service and didn't get it. Customer service was terrible the day time shift is wonderful, but me experiencing the night shift with mike He didn't make me feel comfortable at all. Planet fitness.

Great place to workout and use the different equipment. The bathrooms and showers are always clean. Kia the general manager has a great personality and has a terrific staff. Special shout out to Matt who always seems to be there and is great and does a fantastic job to make sure you are taken care of whatever you need.

Good facility but needs some leadership and mentoring. Clean establishment for the most part but the soap dispenser are constantly empty and trash bins are overflowing while 3 staff members are behind the desk on their phone to include the manager. Minor things across the board needs a little attention to make an outstanding recommendation. Needs a little more work to make over 4 stars but not terrible establishment. Hope this helps.

Really need to cancel. Bags always in work out areas, spray bottles ALWAYS empty while staff texting at the desk. Weights and other equipment NEVER put back so just take the signs off the glass! It shouldn't look cheap because the price is cheap. Get those broken cables fixed and show respect to members who follow gym etiquette.

Working out at Planet Fitness has been a solid experience overall. The gym is clean, well-maintained, and has a wide variety of machines, so it's easy to move through your workout without having to wait around. I've never run into broken equipment, and everything is usually in good working order.

Most of the people here are respectful and wipe down their machines, which makes for a comfortable environment. The locker rooms and showers are also kept clean, which I appreciate.

Overall, it's a very functional gym where you can get in, get your workout done, and get out without hassle.

Horrible! The free kids of Summer has started and it's like a playground for them. Here comes the smoking weed, smoking their Vapes in the bathrooms and theft once again. I'm looking for a new gym. 3 stars because the equipment is good and maintained.

With that being said, they do not maintain building maintenence. There has been a broken mirror in there for months now, and it's covered up with tape. Multiple wall coverings need replaced due to damage. Tvs removed when stoped working and still has the holes in the wall.

STAFF is the number 1 reason I hate going to this gym. There is like 2 good staff members there that actually clean and talk with the members...everyone else is guaranteed on the phone, sitting or leaning on the counter and has "have a good workout" auto programed as they don't even look up.

If the owner of this gym would give these employees task to do...man...this gym could easily double in membership growth. Until then, I keep referring EōS and if you haven't tried them yet...do it! It's night and day comparison.

It really sucks that this is the only gym nearby but at this point I rather drive further and even pay more for some peace so here I come EOS. Too many little kids running this location when it comes to staff , every time I asked about a general manager (even the managers are children ) but they always have an excuse as to why the general manager can’t speak to you and give you corporate number who doesn’t do anything or call you back lol , terrible customer service , If they’re not doing what they are supposed to , best believe they will blame you and interrupt your whole workout in such a rude way . The gym is not a hang out place for me , I’m there to do what I have to do and leave . If you’re serious about your fitness , I would not recommend , not only the staff makes it harder for you to have a peaceful workout but the place is dirty and the free weights only go up to 75lbs , and they have this large crack in one of the mirrors for months now , no wonder why this place have terrible energy lol . I know not every Planet Fitness is this bad but I will never get a membership at any PF again because there’s no solution when a staff is abusing their position , nobody to talk to about it, and if a little kid says they will cancel your membership for the dumbest reasons there’s really nothing you can do about it , they will take your annual payment then Cancel your membership and you can’t speak to nobody about it lol this happened to a few people and I’m leaving before it happens to me . If a child staff pick with you next just know they will never take accountability and there’s nobody there to hear your side .

Poor customer service , staff that’s not doing their job in the first place , standing around on their phones and laughing amongst eachother in the check in area as if it’s a hang out place and then harassing customers and interrupting workouts because they do not know who checked in or not . I saw it happen to at least 3 people of my time being here on different days , they even called the cops on a person they kept harassing over and over about checking in but the customer did , the staff was not paying attention , staff wanted her to stop her workout and lose the machine she waited for just because they did not do what they were supposed to , that was cringy to watch because I also saw the staff mocking the lady when she was not looking . They made a big deal out of nothing, there are time and places when to approach someone and how to approach someone and also not wildly accuse people . Will be looking into other gyms and memberships before it happens to me , I’m afraid to even go back after seeing how they continue to handle situations, it’s getting worse and worse . Someone in my neighborhood that also goes there was telling me a similar situation that happened when he use to go to Seffner Planet Fitness , he drives all the way to Riverview now for fitness which is further to get to for similar reasons which is the staff abusing their positions , they threaten a lot by saying “ or we will cancel your membership” . Working out is supposed to be another form of peace and to decompress. Staff adds more stress , this gym does not value the consumers experience or handle consumers gently , it seems like they are very easy to give someone a hard time . I will be leaving this gym before the staff handles another situation the way they do with a consumer who just had enough and take it out on the gym . Do you people do not see the need now a days ? Please get your staff under control or get a whole new staff or train them better ? I’m not sure but there should be more adults working here .

Alot of very young ,13 to 16 yr olds the problem is they go in groups of 3 or more at a machine on there phones in-between sets for each taking up to 30 minutes , very hard for the rest of us to get done with what we need to do, not a good experience

just went to the gym yesterday. i felt a little more comfortable here more then the one in riverview but i will NOT GO BACK ladies if you got gym bags and leave them in the lockers BEWARE there’s bedbugs. i promise you i hate bugs and this is disgusting and if you got bed bugs leave your self home! found it crawling off my gym bag in my car !!

I don't understand why this place has a 4.4 rating. This place is the worst. Smells like pot. Wife literally has photos of butt imprints not cleaned on locker room benches!! It's dirty, and falling apart. Rude staff and other gym members. Literally every posted rule, no one follows. People are rude, do not respect your space, wear jeans. Seen typing children under 13 allowed on the floor goofing off with equipment. Equipment is always broken, walls are peeling. Trash everywhere. People do not wipe down equipment after use, do not put weights back, hog machines. Garbage and weights litter the floor. Some people walk past and reek of marijuana, seen some with ankle monitors on too. People talk on cellphones on machines, play music out loud on phones. Worst gym by far. Absolutely disgusting. Started trial and absolutely going to crunch in brandon. Couldn't pay me to workout here.

It's 729a Mon Nov 18. The doors are locked. The hours say 12a on Monday, but I understand if people want to sleep in. However, I don't want to pay a membership and annual fees if you're not going to be reliable. Please fix your hours.

EDIT: They were apparently out of power, which would be understandable. But they didn't put out a sign, didn't inform anyone , they just let people stand out in the parking lot waiting without knowing what was going on. Was out there for over 20 min before someone came out and said anything.

Over the last year or so this place has really gone down hill. Ever since they stopped hiring adults to run the facility. Men’s room stall sink has been broken for months. Machines leaking what I assume is geese out of handles. Two employees walking around with one dust pan, when they aren’t all just sitting behind the counter with their heads buried in their phones. Groups of kids coming in and just slamming weights and hollering for 20 mins before we decided to leave, lunk alarm must be broken too.

This place is a JOKE. LIAM is a JOKE. Not trying to pull the race card, but the last THREE times I've came to the gym he made it his business to harass me about something. I literally go there and say nothing to anyone. I mind my business, and he harasses me. I was totally over it today, he ask me to take a picture, I tell him I don't want to take a picture and he tells me I can't work out. THAT'S FINE! It's literally a gym on every corner, and it's one that will appreciate me being a customer. I've been with planet fitness for over 7 months, and I was planning on switching over to crunch anyways for a better experience. PLANET FITNESS is not the best place. Some Staff are nasty and rude, the me 's bathroom is always nasty, the toilets are always nasty or pissy. The sink in the stall has been leaking for at least three months. The napkins are always empty that's supposed to be over the trash cans to sanitize equipment, and the spray bottles are ALWAYS empty. I've had to tell front counter numerous of times that they are empty. Edgar and other guys at front counter are always playing, texting, or horse fighting. The staff in afternoons are always using equipment. Not sure if they are on break, but it just looks tacky. Because they usually still have on their uniform shirts. They don't greet you when you walk in and I only saw them wiping down equipment once in 7 months. They are lazy and it's horrible. When Jimeka and the old employees were there it was much better. This place is garbage. Crunch Fitness, here I come.

Have a great staff working here the machine selection is pretty good. The showers were great and had a ton of pressure! Place could have been cleaned up a little bit more but wasn't bad... *updated review... Changed to a 5 star, have been coming here for a while and it seems cleaner, maybe on the day I wrote the original review they were short-handed, but ever since it's been pretty clean here.

I tried so many gyms in the area before I found this one, and am so glad I didn’t settle elsewhere. This gym truly feels like its own little community in a way that others I’ve tried fell short. The staff is SO friendly and helpful, and the equipment is always well maintained and clean. They recently upgraded to brand new cardio equipment which made this place even better. This gym and the people who frequent it really make you feel welcome regardless of your age or fitness level. I truly look forward to going each day!

I signed up for the monthly on automatic withdrawal. I go into the building tonight, and the girl behind the desk, Veronica, tells me that I have a $10 late fee. I explained that there should be no late fee due to auto payment. The annual fee was taken out of my account and there was a monthly draft for the month of March. All she could say was the computer says that I owe $10 fee. She can't think for herself, only read what the computer says.
I explained the concept of auto withdrawal. She didn't get it, just I owe $10. I explained to her that I would speak with the manager about this.
I went into the bathroom to shower, and she came into the bathroom and told me that I had to pay the late fee or leave. I was brushing my teeth when she came in. She insisted that i stop what im doing and go get the $10. I went to my car to get her the money and they won't take cash. My friend had already showered but I haven't because Veronica is in my face. She said that she spoke with the manager of this gym and she told veronica that we had 5 minutes to pay the $10, or get out or be escorted Out!! As she's telling me this stuff I'm gathering up my items and she's raising her voice to hurry up or she was gonna have us escorted out of the bldg. There were male employees now that have shown up. I guess they thought they were going to put their hands on me. Wrong. All of this drama over $10!!!! I've never encountered anything like this in my life. This isn't the only Planet Fitness that has power tripping employees. See my other reviews on other locations.
I'm calling corporate tomorrow to complain about this incident. Each location I found out is independently owned. However, I spoke with Courtney, the manager, about Veronica and she was fired!!! She had numerous complaints about her from other customers. I told her about the $10 late fee incident. She apologized and said that she never told Veronica to kick us out. So Veronica lied, stating her manager told us to leave. According to Courtney, Veronica came into the ladies shower and drug a lady out of her shower who was washing her hair and for whatever reason Veronica made this woman leave and she wasn't given time to get the soap out of her hair!!!
Besides this 1 incident, the staff never showed me how to operate any equipment, the location of the massage chairs, tanning beds, etc.
I have a guest that comes in with me. I've never been shown how to check in a guest.
It's something every time upon entering this location.
Courtney, the manager at this location, is extremely nice and works her butt off when she's there. Joseph, another employee, is great. He's very helpful, nice and friendly.
There's 1 thing that needs changing!!! There needs to be a paper towel dispenser put in the women's shower room. The faucets spray water all over the countertop. There is nothing in there to clean them off with.
The cleaning lady comes only once on the wknd. We did have an incident with the cleaning lady.
We were finishing up with our showers, getting dressed and I go to gather everything up to leave and I asked my friend where our body wash and shampoo was and the cleaning lady said I'm cleaning and went towards her closet and retrieved our items. We were the only people in the shower area but ìnstead of asking if the items were ours or cleaning around them she just took them and put our items in her locked cleaning closet.
One other thing great about this location is the water pressure in the women's showers is the best of any planet fitness I've used in any location.
I changed my 1 star to 3 now that Veronica has been fired!!!

I was a member at this Planet Fitness for a little over 5 years now and a little over 10 years total at various Planet Fitness's before relocating to the Seffner area. I came into PF to workout like usual after work and was told at the Front Desk that the District Manager decided to Cancel my membership because a Cable machine broke on me the day before. I asked how that was my fault and was told because I use too many of the given 5lb extra plates, which are there to be used with the cables to add more weight if needed. I then told the front desk person all I did was put an attachment bar on that cable and went to pick it up and it was already broke, in which at that time I took the broken cable attachment to the front desk to let them know. No one asked if I was ok or anything...just said ok thanks. After rehashing that story to the front desk workers, they both looked at each other and said "OH...so you didn't break it....and we didn't know that...but unfortunately we were told to cancel your membership by our district manager." At that point the front desk person said I had numerous complaints all of a sudden against me, yet no worker or manager at anytime ever came up to me or stop me ever to say anything to me until this situation at hand, nor had I ever had the so called "Lunk Alarm" go off on me. After that was said, they took down my number and said the district manager Carlos would call me and talk with me to get things straightened out.....which he never did! Here is the funny thing about all this, when I walked into the gym that day the front desk people didn't even know my name but was told to cancel my membership on the spot. How can you say there is numerous complaints against someone and such when you don't even know the name of the person you are canceling their membership?! Before I left the kid at the front desk handling this situation said "I know you keep to yourself and don't cause any problems but because you broke a couple different piece's of equipment now I have to cancel you. This was the first time I had any equipment break on me....and btw, how is it my fault the equipment broke on me when you need to keep up and service your cable pulleys and equipment, which they never do at this gym as equipment is broken a lot and has signs on them. Bottom line...I was definitely judged/discriminated against here with this whole situation due to me being a decently built guy and lifting heavier at this gym.
No other Planet Fitness in over my 10years has ever done this to me before until now. Its funny though that this gym is good with people slamming equipment, smith machines, dropping dumbbells, not wiping or putting weights back, and people super-setting on tons of equipment while they are busy yet you cancel a person that lifts a decent amount of weight, cleans up after himself, and never talks to anyone or causes problems! BTW, I'm still waiting on that phone call Carlos!

They just replaced all the old cardio equipment with brand new equipment and added more stair master machines. Hopefully the strength training equipment is next. Please stay current with your social media feeds to keep your clients updated. Glad to see the updates, it’s awesome!!
