I’ve been going here consecutively for a little over a year now, usually the early morning crowd from 5am-6:30am is when I visit. Terry (tall dude with locs who works at that time normally) is a very nice guy, super personable, and always has a nice attitude. It’s never the staff that’s an issue, it’s the people other members. People rarely follow the rules of wiping their equipment after use and I have personally put away yoga balls, mats, and free weights. I will say, yall really gotta start cleaning those showers more. There’s been multiple times where I have witnessed drain fly larvae in the cold, wet corner of the center shower in the woman’s locker room. Subsequently, it causes people to use the other showers more, and there’s never a shortage of hair, bandaids, pimple patches, and even tampons lingering in the shower or the changing rooms themselves. I used to see a lady in there cleaning periodically but I ain’t seen her in months, what happened lol - anyways, aside from the kinda gross locker rooms, this is one of my favorite places to be and wake up in the morning!

Not user-friendly.

The place is now cramped with equipment, and there is nowhere to stretch unless your 5 2" and you don't mind people almost stepping on you.

The guests use the equipment and do not put their weights back, so knowing if a machine is being used is difficult to determine.

People camp out on the free weight machines, it is like waiting at the DMV to work out.

The only concern here is to herd them in like cattle and collect the fees.

This is what I've come to expect from Planet Fitness Franchise.

It's not about Health, it's about Brand Recognition.

Yes, they have a lot of equipment, if you want to climb stairs, bicycle, walk on a treadmill, but for strength training this place sucks. They have weight sets, if you can get to use them.

Bought a membership ended up being $31. Went once for an hour and realized I didn’t like it and it was too busy for me to do what I needed to do. Canceled two days later. Three days later they charged $16 to my account for club fees. The membership was canceled. I’m aware there were club fees per year and some gyms take those fees out throughout the year, some all at once. I have a hard time believing their policy is to start taking out club fees three days after you join. I feel like they were getting everything they could while they had the chance. I Feel scammed.

UPDATE: still no response from planet fitness 4 days later. I’ve sent the email and review requested. I assumed their responses to negative reviews were just to pacify people and a lazy attempt at damage control. I don’t t expect for anyone to reach out to me or resolve the issue. BE WARE!!!!

Terry answered the phone professionally at 11:12pm this Tuesday evening.
He answered every single question without hesitation like it was the back of his hand with immediacy.
I asked the standard membership sign up questions plus very detailed ones.
If I was reading his performance as a secret shopper, he passed with flying colors.
I already took the tour of the facility last week. Very well kept for the peak hour of 5:30pm. All the equipment is new purple and shiny. I’m signing up tomorrow!

30 minute workout room is constantly used by other people not properly utilizing the room I’ve tried to use the room the past 5 times I’ve gone with no luck cause people sit on the machines for 15 minutes each. Today there was a lady just sitting there on her phone and another girl who only used the same two machines in a 30 minute time frame. Need to have better monitoring of this area, it’s frustrating trying to get a quick workout and having to wait forever for machines to be open or having to skip them in total.

I felt disrespected was told if I can move from a machine I was told by pt to use I was on machine 8 minutes. I have switched my time of coming in cause these rich seniors think they own machine an always asking to use a machine Iam on.so on a slow day at 3pm Iam being asked to move from a machine

I had the most amazing experience at this location. I wasn't homeless; I was technically without a home by choice, as I was going through a spiritual journey and needed time to reflect on the things in my life that made me prideful. During this time, I was staying near the gym, and we had to use their facility for exercise and daily hygiene.

I remember the first day my son and I joined—we met two young men named Manny and Drew. Two great young men who didn’t look down on us after learning about our situation. Days later, we met other wonderful staff members who made us feel like friends. Every day we came in, we were greeted with cheerful hellos and well wishes for our workout. The bathrooms were always clean, the staff worked hard, and they treated everyone with kindness.

On the last day I visited, after completing our journey to appreciating life, we found a new home in a new city no longer close to this location. As I was leaving, the manager, Pam, and the staff sent us off with a very kind and heartfelt goodbye. I truly appreciate every one of these beautiful and compassionate young people.

Thank you, Pam, Alexia, Kara, Gage, Manny, and Drew, for all that you do at Planet Fitness! Keep spreading kindness and maintaining the judgment-free zone. I highly recommend this location! 😊💜💪

I've been to almost all the Planet Fitness in the area. This is my least favorite. 5+ machines were broken or being Jimmied together by clients, the staff after midnight are MIA. Litterly saw dude put machines out of order on the black card machines after I just finished. He wanted a cigarette lmao. I can't lmao. Give me the job where I just sit there and push a button to get paid. Even this is too much. Watch your night employees!

The staff member at this location was extremely rude to me today at 2pm - she told me during checkin that I “wasnt allowed to go to this gym” then when i proceeded to ask why - she proceeded to tell me “that a staff told me yesterday that I needed to transfer my membership from —-California to Florida”

The problem is - no one approached me or tapped me on the shoulder yesterday to tell me this.

I work long hours in the hospital. Im kind to patients all day. I barely sleep & have been getting inappropriate comments from patients since i moved here. I pay to come to the gym to destress.

I small amount of kindness would be nice. - it literally took me all but ONE MINUTE to step outside and call my previous gym in California to transfer my membership.

Instead of telling me “im not allowed to go to this gym.” & refusing to help me.

It was a good place for working out but they are dishonest..I was told before I signed up I won't be charged for annual fee as long that I canceled my membership before 2 months of being a member and I did canceled my membership before i reached 2 months but still they charged me for the annual fee,I don't mind paying the annual fee if I have to used their equipment but unfortunately I can't anymore because I am back to work..

The planet fitness in summerfield is excellent. Great staff, clean and mostly respectful members. It is very busy, but there are almost always plenty of options to work out. I wish they had a better hip thrust machine but otherwise great options!

I've been lifting for over 40 yrs, managed a gym in NY for 15. I've used many brands of gym equipment. This is a nice gym with alot of equipment, great staff well managed and clean.but the Matrix equipment leaves alot to be desired. Sized to large for a person 5'4"ish and not enough adjustments to make it fit better. My feet don't touch the platform on the hyperext machine as well as it still being too high on the hip making it useless, the new hack squat ,which I was looking forward to , starts at 105 lbs Which is kind of a heavy start point. the capt chair is so tall i cannot reach to do chin ups, Elastic bands with handles are a length for giants
these are just a few examples. I guess they got a deal from Matrix. Just kind of disapointed.

Some of the machines in the timed area are broken. Cleanliness is fair. They're supposed to say something or put off a whistle when someone is grunting and groaning. And there was a man there that sounded like he was having sex with a weight lifting machine. The front desk needs to say something. It's part of the planet fitness rule. No grunting.

I've been a member of the Planet Fitness location in Summerfield, Florida, for approximately four months, visiting every weekday.Although , lI've had the pleasure of getting to know the friendly staff, particularly the day crew. They work seamlessly together to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for members.
One staff member, however, stands out from the rest: ALYSSA. She is the epitome of professionalism, hard work, dedication and KINDNESS.
Her dedication to her role is evident in everything she does, from resolving equipment issues to providing top-notch customer service!
Alyssa's leadership skills are impressive, and her healthy competitiveness drives her to go above and beyond. Her extensive knowledge of the gym and its operations is remarkable, and she's always willing to lend a helping hand. She is a team player all the way & it’s so hard to find that in employees these days !
Her ability to solve difficult problems that come up is also very impressive !
If there is a problem she is able to come up with a solution almost instantly !

Great place, new equipment. I had read some bad reviews and was hesitant to go, but my normal club was shut down due to hurricane Milton making a visit. I'm glad I went. This place was very clean, nice new equipment and everyone working was helpful. One of the complaints mentioned the layout. I travel a lot and have been to many different PF locations. I've seen some interesting layouts. This one seemed just like many others I've been to. I liked it so much I might switch my home gym to this one

My wife and I have been coming to the new Summerfield PF for 3 months and love it. Great equipment, spotlessly clean and all the Staff are friendly and helpful. I'm surprised to see a few negative comments about some staff members. We find from experience in all businesses when you meet people, say hello, smile and use their name if possible.The reaction coming back will be similar. Life is too short to be grumpy. W & J

We had called to cancel, and they said it was done only to be charged an annual fee later, which they said they would not refund under any circumstances when we went to visit them. The most disgusting part is that I only visited 4 times, with them charging $20 for that month + $20 for the next month that I did not visit at all + a $50 annual fee.

FOR 4 DAYS, I was charged a total of $90 even after we called and said to stop. They are no better than shameless thieves taking money that they definitely have no moral rights to. This business does not deserve access to anyone's money or any money at all.

Update: I tried to contact the home manager by calling this place, and the employees said the manager texted them that there's nothing they can do about it and the only way is to try to contact the bank for a refund even though it's not simple to dispute it since they charged the checking account. They resolved nothing.

Great place, very clean, with everything you can imagine in a gym. I'd give it a 5, but I had an unpleasant experience with the trainer, Phil. I asked him where the water fountain was, and he told me they didn't have one, and said to use the bathroom sinks. He didn't smile, or seem friendly. I asked the folks at the front desk, who showed me where it was (between the bathrooms in plain sight). I like the place, but I don't understand why he'd say that to me

When I started going, I really didn’t know what I was doing and was only using the treadmill. So really needed to start other equipment to achieve my goals, well I got frustrated and because when I asked questions on when there would be a trainer it seemed like it was only business hours….well I signed up for an upper body class and I and the trainer Phil was fantastic, I feel blessed for having Phil as a trainer he was very patient and very knowledgeable so I went back the next night and he pushed me to do the 30 minute circuit. Well with that being said this guy made a zero into a hero in my book and now im addicted.

Nice gym and great staff. However, there is a small group of people that continually using there phones to excess while holding a machine hostage. And then when you ask how many sets they have left, you turn out to be the bad guy.. This happens all the time. I can understand “no judgement “ but these people are rude. Get off your phone while you are on a machine. I do understand that when pushing heavy weights, you need more rest time, up to 5 minutes. That’s not the case here. The answer I got back was typical. They tell me to tell staff and the staff say they can’t do anything.

I went to Planet Fitness to work out. I wanted to go into the black card spa I was sitting in one of the massage chairs when one of the young girls came in and said I need an appointment to use it. I guess the woman had an appointment for the chair and went to get the young girl who works there. I had no idea I needed to have an appointment and it was very embarrassing. I walked back in just to see if it was written anywhere and it wasn't. I have no problem following rules a sign should be in the Black Card Spa.stating that you need an appointment. It was my first time going there.

Other than the GM Scott, there isn't much good to say about this gym. I don't like this new layout, very inconvenient for bathroom access especially for women, clear across the whole gym. Which btw has the worst plumbing I've ever experienced in any PF gym. Very low pressure with scalding hot water. Showers are useless, a garden hose is better. Staff is ok, overnight guy is argumentative, does nothing but sit all night while bathrooms are left filthy talking to a member for 3 hours! This place is open long enough by now to get their feet wet and know right from wrong. They still don't. A trash can at the entrance like every other planet fitness would be nice. Please get with the program already!

I was so excited when it first opened. I mean for 10 dollars a month, you can’t spend 10 dollars better. I still am grateful that Summerfield has finally grown big enough to have such a great gym. However, is so disappointing to see management run it like it’s heading. The manager hasn’t been seen since corporate was there for grand opening. The assistant manager is there often, but her response to everything is “ deal with it “. She cares less about anything but flirting. The toilet paper holders have been broken since it opened. Bring your own toilet paper. The overall hygiene is dirty. I wish corporate would come around and show the managers how to run this awesome opportunity.

Nice facilities. Clean and new BUT…….. BUT don’t let them have access to auto-pay. They think they can just take money from me multiple times for the same charge. Not only did they take money before they were supposed to causing my bank to overdraft, but they also took it out in 2 half measures causing 2 overdraft fees simultaneously. We have 2 accounts there so after this happened the first time, I called to make sure it doesn’t happen again when they charge for the second account. I was assured that the problem was resolved and the payment date was moved to August 1st. Their billing department is 3rd party company and they apparently don’t communicate very well with each other because after dealing with this last week and making countermeasures to make sure it didn’t happen again as mentioned above, it has just happened for the second time now today. Same exact issue, they withdrew payment way before scheduled date even after being reassured it was handled and payment date had been rescheduled. So this is the 3rd and 4th overdraft caused by poor communication between planet fitness and their billing company. Planet fitness itself is fine and has nice employees that’s why 3 stars instead of 1 star.

I was in the Cyro lounge and Tamara the staff member came in and told me to get out as someone else wanted to use it. I still had 3 minutes left. She was extremely rude. My question is would they come into the tanning bed and ask me to leave.
In general I have found the staff to be unfriendly and not helpful. Not a good start for a new gym. I wouldn't recommend signing up and I am thinking of canceling my black card membership.
