FINAL UPDATE: Instead of meaningfully addressing my concerns about the faulty and dangerous equipment at this location, the area manager ("Alicia") chose to terminate my membership without even speaking to me. This gym would rather take your money and watch you break your bones than conduct basic maintenance on common weight machines. I have relocated my gym membership to a competitor franchise in town (Crunch) and it was an immediate and noticeable improvement. For your safety, I STRONGLY recommend you go ANYWHERE ELSE. These people do NOT care about you or your health.

UPDATE #3: This gym has harassed me nonstop for leaving them negative reviews. They actually cancelled my membership rather than addressing my concerns. If you need a gym, go elsewhere.

UPDATE #2: It's been half a year and this gym STILL suffers from the same issues. Just one example, both of the seated leg curl machines have been dangerously broken for months now. In spite of my multiple complaints to corporate, they have yet to actually fix anything - although they are glad to put "out of order" signs up, so obviously they know about the issue. Don't go here. You'll break a leg on some faulty machine or from tripping on the wrinkled and pitted floor mats. And what's worse, the management is now calling my personal phone while I am at work to harrass me about my poor reviews. Hey, buddy; I don't want to talk to you -- I want you to fix your awful gym. Or sell it. I don't care. You clearly aren't qualified to be running one. I'm done playing nice. I'll happily post relevant pictures of your awful location here on Google Maps. Thanks.

UPDATE #1: Almost immediately after posting my initial review, I began to get harassed by the staff at this location. Within a day of my posting this, the general manager sent an inappropriate communication to my personal email address. I don't even know how they have access to that information. I certainly don't feel like my privacy is respected, which is an insane issue for a gym to have. Even worse, the very next time I went in to work out, the counter staff made rude comments TO MY FACE about my review. I certainly don't appreciate my privacy being invaded and my personal time being disrupted. I will be making a formal complaint to corporate about this matter.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Seriously terrible. If it weren't so cheap I would not go here. Half the equipment is faulty or nonfunctional. Uneven and irregular floor tiles in the freeweight areas. Once they left an overhead light in the back area to flicker and strobe for a full week. Staff are intrusive and often not doing anything. Recommend you go to a different Planet Fitness if possible.

They need to do a better job of getting back to people. I called twice to speak to a manager, after their manager left me a voicemail about a survey I filled out, and was told both times that he was in a meeting. Gave them my contact information to call me back and they never got back to me. If you’re not going to give people a call back please don’t waste their time by reaching out to them in the first place.

Update: They still have not called back. Not acceptable! Also, the showers are filthy, and the employees here can be pretty rude to say the least, which it’s pretty obvious that they really don’t care. I have brought the shower situation to the staffs attention and it’s obvious that nothing has been done about it. Employees standing around behind the counter, on their phones at times, giving people looks, and making remarks about customers behind their back. Planet Fitness as an organization claims to be a “Judgement Free” zone, but this location has some of the most judgmental people working in it. Go figure, it’s Tallahassee.

Absolutely the worst customer service provided. Eric and Tyrell need to either be retrained or fired. Changed details on my billing account and then attempted to tell me that I was at fault for the situation despite their mishandling. Then refused to give out corporate information. Came by Planet Fitness off Monroe after calling earlier this week. I told the guy at the front desk I would like help joining. He said " well you can just go online and sign up" I ask " can you not help me? I had a question about insurance coverage on part as I was told about over the phone". I am a new member and couldn't be happier with my experience at this Planet Fitness. Because I have been so sedentary the past 5 years, I have been looking to ease back into going to the gym and find somewhere relaxed and non-judgmental to start weights. The staff here are so friendly and encouraging and showed me how to use machines I've never used before. This helped SOOO much with my gym anxiety! I was surprised they recognize me when I come in when I've only been a member for a few days now.

found a used condom in the men’s bathroom, bathroom constantly smells like marijuana, old men fondling themselves in the locker room, seems like the place to be for perverts or homeless people. Tried telling manager about these issues and was told that he isn’t responsible for that and was going to cancel my membership if I brought up any more issues. When the gym was basically empty, the hot water was barely lukewarm. The locker room was MAYBE 55 °.
Normally I clean up more after a shower, I couldn’t here because I was shivering. Next time I’ll bring a space heater.

Being blackballed by this location. I was getting doubled charged for late fees each month while my monthly fee was being deducted by direct deposit. Now I'm trying to pay up all fees and being told that this location is collecting in club charges of 200 when I paid the complete balance last week and should not have a balance. I called to inquire about these charges when I was rudely told by Jennifer that Andy would not be able to help with any of the late fees. I spoke with ABC finanical which told me that those late fees charges were supposed to be removed( but they are being kept and collected as in club charges. ) I also went to update my payment method in which I'm not able to because of supposedly past due in club charges.

A major storm is again approaching Tallahassee. It would improve quality if one of the TV screens was set on the Weather Channel, the highest quality source of live info on hurricanes and weather events. PF is an excellent facility and I have no complaints, just a recommendation.

I love my experience anytime I go to the gym. I go to the gym at least 4 times a week. When you enter, all of the staff are nice and greet you. The bathrooms, locker-room and amenity spaces are always nice and clean. If you don't understand something, the staff is also quick to help. I am glad that I chose to go to this Planet Fitness and I will continue going.

Great experience! Employees greeted me as I walked in. There are plenty of machines to choose from where you don't have to wait for someone else to finish. All the sanitary stations were full of cleaner and paper towels. Locker room and restrooms were clean. Tried the hydro massage for the first time and it is perfect following a good workout. Then I used the stand up tanning booth. All the bulbs seemed new, I got a great tan! I will definitely recommend this location to my friends and family.

I went to Planet Fitness in Tallahassee, Florida on N. Monroe tonight, upon me checking in staff member Kel says to me I need to take your photo, but I declined at the time. He proceeded to say I need you to show your ID. I told him I was not going back out to my car at the time. I have been coming to this gym over a year post COVID and no one has harassed me about a photo. There are some inconsistencies across the board, because everyone in the gym couldn’t possibly have their photo on file. The photographs are required upon signing your contract, but not all staff members follow policy obviously, because otherwise they would have taken my photograph then. The point of the matter is if Planet Fitness is not going to be consistent and enforce policies for everyone then don’t pick and choose which members to enforce policies. This can be viewed as discrimination. According to Planet Fitness disclaimer and contract they do not discriminate.

I went to another gym for a free trial that's a little closer to my house. I was there for all of 10 mins before I left and immediately went to PF. Never have I ever felt judged, irrelevant, like a problem or out of place at PF the way the other gym made me feel. Safe to say I'm not going anywhere! The staff is always so nice and if I have a question or need anything they are always quick to help and show nothing but customer service. I've only gone to a couple other locations and everyone has been great but the north Monroe location is my gym home. Thanks yall for everything!
