CLOSED TIL 12/12/25. tried updating it to temporarily close but two weeks ago and I guess it didn't happen. their website has no mention of this either!

I’ve been coming to Planet Fitness Tamarac for the past 3…4 months since moving to the area, and the best part of this gym is definitely the staff. The front desk team (both the men and women) are always friendly, helpful, and make sure I have a great experience every time. ALSO: Personal trainer Jonathan 'JOHN' Restrepo is amazing, and honestly, he is the biggest reason I keep coming back. I’ve maintained discipline and consistency because of his workouts. He is truly great.

That said, the gym itself is in serious need of repairs. The massage chairs were an issue for a while because there were only two functioning coins for everyone to share. I was told months ago that they were supposed to receive around 200 new coins, but to my knowledge, that never happened.

My biggest concern is the water bottle filling station. It has never worked… not once since I joined. The regular fountain’s water stream is very weak, and the water isn’t cold, which isn’t ideal after a workout. Additionally, the ellipticals and StairMasters occasionally go out of service… sometimes two or three at a time. also, none of the hand sanitizer stations work either… The only one that works is the one by the 30 minute circuit area.

I AM SO HAPPY THEY ARE FINALLY CLOSING FOR REPAIRS. They closed November 16th, until December 12 to fix issues and to improve the Black Card member experience.

I really enjoy the staff and the atmosphere they create, and I’m grateful that long overdue repairs are finally happening.

There is only one leg press machine, and it’s constantly in use. Some people stay on it for up to 45 minutes. It’s really unacceptable that such a large gym, with the capacity to accommodate so many members, only has one of these machines.

I previously rated this Planet Fitness location 5 stars. I’ve been a paying member for several years, and although I don’t visit often, I enjoy using the machines when I’m able to go. Unfortunately, the staff often seem annoyed when asked for assistance with the massage chairs, beds, or total body machines. This comes across as poor customer service, especially since several of these machines have been out of order for months with no signs that repair tickets have been created.

Ideally, this process should be automated so members don’t have to deal with staff in a bad mood or feel like they are inconveniencing anyone. The manager also appears disengaged — he often stays in his office and gives the impression that member concerns are a nuisance when asked why the machines remain broken.

Thee worst Planet Fitness in South Florida. Very bad and unsafe location, mutiple homeless people live in the parking lot an use the gym leaving it smelly an nasty. Mgmt is all of sudden enforcing lockers for gym bags rather then fixing broken equipment and getting security for the parking lot.

Planet Fitness is clean qnd well equipped with multiple workout options and fab amenities for Blackcard holders. Massage bed and reclining chair massage to complete the workout.
They also feature free summer membership for high-school students. Guess where my high-schooler hangs out? Love it!

The manager in specific from what I assume has decided to make it a problem to have my backpack by me(not in the way of anyone/anything), it has all my things in it, resistance band, water, energy drink, charger etc… so I keep it with me, I know the staff doesn’t care they’ve always been really nice and outgoing whoever it is their all very respectful, but they tell me the “manager” cares, seems to be a grumpy for no reason type of guy, it’s disappointing because I’ve enjoyed this gym, might need to switch if this continues. I’ve been working out here since April 2024, never had problems

Horrible communication if you cancel your membership after the 10th they won’t refund you! I went back and forth with this location extremely disappointed I couldn’t get a refund they put me on a yellow list to have the manager marlenn call me back and is sad how the industry works to get anybody’s money and choose anybody as manager that clearly doesn’t care about customers only cares about money! the manager hasn’t called me back for two weeks and I got told by John on May 19th I was going to get a refund and he told me I should get a refund 5-10 business days I’ve been patient and I see I still don’t have a refund on my account so I called today and the lady told me there’s no notes and neither my name on the yellow list when I thought I was there I came in person two times to make sure my name is there and the guy told me I was. I haven’t been to this gym in months and the Audicity that they have to not get me a refund for this month is crazy.one of the guys even told me they got this same situation about 2 weeks ago and the customer dis get a refund so I don’t understand , I got a billing number that I can call supposedly to stop the gym from taking my money and the rep told me only the manager or the location you go to can do that the times now are hard and yes $27 is a lot if you’re not getting the service in this case haven’t use you guys gym in months so basically you guys got $216 for free and can’t give me back the refund for this month that’s just unreasonable. 03/30/25 New issue: you guys have a broken shower handle on one of your showers, so you shower is no longer working! It's been sometime since the shower was working, come on guys? Customer service is very important, there is a staff member at planet fitness tamarac, an assistant manager that does not represent the pf brand like the other gyms that I've been to. She makes us feel uncomfortable and targeted when at this gym. My girlfriend and I have had only negative encounters with her and she never greets us in a professional manner. This person always portrays combativeness and pugnacity towards us and has a mean demeanor on her face, this type of behavior has brought forth this review. I believe that people who work in this type of job should only bring professional and positive interactions with their customers. She should have proper training on interacting with planet fitness paying customers. If things get better this review can change. Everything else at this gym is fine, this is why this is a one star review and not a five-star review. Do better!

To Whom It May Concern,

I frequently visit different Planet Fitness locations as an OTR truck driver, and I have to say this was easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had at any location.
• The bathrooms were in unacceptable condition, showing clear signs of neglect.
• There were young kids lingering in the restroom, which made me concerned about the security of my belongings.
• Overall, the facility was poorly maintained, and it’s clear that management is not upholding the standards expected of a Planet Fitness location.

This level of negligence is completely unacceptable. Someone needs to be held accountable, and I will also be reporting this to corporate to ensure it is addressed properly.

I hope to see immediate improvements, as this location does not currently meet the standards that Planet Fitness promotes.

Because of my Black card I tend to visit this location from time to time. However, the customer service at the front desk is horrible!! When a guest enters that door you welcome them. You don't engage in personal issues on your phone. I don't pay a monthly membership fee for this kind of service.

I like that they’re open 24 hours for people that work busy schedules. However I’ve been having a problem with the gym staff invading my space while I’m exercising. I do intense cardio workouts and am often sweating very heavily while doing vigorous exercise. The gym staff frequently walks up and just stands by the machine I’m using while I’m sweating profusely, so I’m already uncomfortable to begin with and then the male employees keep standing near my behind or directly in front of the machine blocking my view just to “sweep the floor”. This happens every single time I come here and I usually never have this problem at the other locations.

There are plenty of other areas to sweep in the gym rather than the single area I’m exercising in and they’re making me feel uncomfortable.

I went with my wife and I saw this two girls with a girl 4-5 years old in a stroller, at the beginning she looked as normal but later we noticed she wasn’t moving as a normal child, she was happy; the mom went to ask if it was ok to have her. I seen kids at gym with their parents. Another girl from seems uncomfortable to see the little girl, so she approached to them and I felt bad for them because kept telling her nonsense to make them leave. This gym is bogus! After being a guest with a friend at a further location, I was ready to sign up today at this location closer to my home. Their own website says to come in for a free day pass to try the gym out, however when I went there today, I was told they don’t offer free day passes, but she can sell me a day pass for $29. I showed the girl at the desk their website and she apologized and said she can’t do it. This is the second bad experience I’ve had here. I figured the first time was just a fluke. Guess I’ll go down the street to the competing gym company that encourages people to come check their place out.

I was hesitant as I'd never been in a Planet Fitness before. This gym is great! I've gone in during prime time in mornings and evenings, and haven't had to really wait for machines ever. You cannot beat it for the price. I went super fancy and did the more expensive version $(25 per month), but I've yet to try the massage tables/chairs, plan to do so soon.

I have been coming here for a year, then all of a sudden, I can’t come inside because I can only come 10 times??? Made no sense. I pay the black card premium, which went up in cost without warning or extra benefits. They then wanted me to switch home gyms, so scammy, and now I feel like I’m going to get accosted going. Another time they would not let me in without my phone and said they could only look me up if its my home gym. Many times there are homeless people in the bathroom doing weird things. If they need a shower, there are places for that but I still understand, but when they go there to smoke and leave a mess in the lockers, thats terrible and I feel unsafe. This was all the same day. Seems like they don’t read these reviews but give the same answer. Why can I only come ten times if its “unlimited” gym?

Planet fitness keeps taking money out of my account several times a month. Ive been dealing with payment issues for at least 3 months. They charged me $58 and then the next week charged me $25.70 and they refuse to give me a refund.
