listen to the reviews… lol i’m sure you can find a cheaper and more sufficient gym for the price you would be paying. went here with my partner once and we were unaware that his pass was only for a single person. we walked through normally, and i’m not sure what the owner thought, but i don’t have a problem with him stopping us to check on the membership. it was his approach that was disgusting and disappointing shouting at us and claiming we didn’t have a membership and just overall being very rude. not at all customer friendly. here the kicker… i was willing to pay after he embarrassed us as patrons in the first place and it was $20 for a day pass!!!!! gyms with better equipment can be found for $10 a month. the equipment is not worth even the price a lot of it has been worn down and doesn’t work properly. the best part is after this whole ordeal a young woman walked right by him without scanning or anything. will not be returning to any powerhouses and this experience tipped it off for me. all this for a workout? ridiculous *edit: just overviewing the reply we very much did present the membership when we first walked in so i still don’t understand why we were treated this way.

Bring your own portable A/C its like 90 degrees in here..it's a gym I know but the heat brings people to stink more too. This is the first gym I ever been to that apparently you HAVE to take turns in between your sets with other random people, you can't say "no" either, (happened to my friend too), I mean why should one want to take turns when I'm all dripping in sweat.

Both my partner and I compete and look forward to training at new gyms. We were visiting his son and decided to visit based on the positive reviews.

Gym equipment is average (maybe marginally better than what's expected of a commercial gym).

We compete in strength sports so we didn't necessarily see any equipment tailored to us, but we don't expect it.

I was truly disappointed with the unethical business practice of the free trial day pass listed on the website. We came inside and mentioned the day pass so she asked where we were coming from and our purpose of the visit then charged for the day pass. I was confused so I mentioned the website and she stated we had to be residents here. I mentioned we were looking at homes but she said it doesn't matter because we could end up living somewhere else. I understand having a policy and abiding by it, but there wasn't any language about the restrictions on the website. When I mentioned it, she said sorry and she didn't know why its not on there. She was fully aware there weren't any terms on the site (I also showed her and it's pictured)

Because we just drove 9 hours, we ended up paying but it ultimately wasn't worth the price we paid for the day pass.

I wouldn't return.

Good gym. Nice staff and lots of equipment. My one big complain is that it is literally always uncomfortably hot in here. I've never seen it below 74 in the summer but it's usually more like 76. And it's a coin toss whether the ceiling fans will be on. If you can tolerate that, it's a great gym l

The staff here are friendly and welcoming. I considered getting a membership but did not due to a small number of leg presses, no belt squat. It seemed relatively quiet, very clean, and everyone wass kind. Would highly recommend if they have the equipment you need.

I enjoy this gym. I’ve been going here for about a 1 1/2 years and the times I go, I never experience it getting too packed. The machines are new and in great condition. When I go to the gym, I like to be in and out and most people who work out here are here to work out (and not be on their phones hogging up machines). The staff has always been welcoming and friendly towards me as well!

I will note, that if you are someone who gets annoyed or bothered by fitfluencers or people recording their workouts, this might not be the place for you (unless you work out early in the morning before noonish). Although there are days many people are recording, they’ve always been very polite and professional in their work! And it appears that those who do record, really do this as their job and not random clout chasers online.

Overall, welcoming gym community and a safe space for people in all stages of their health journey to work out at!

Update: I’ve been here for over 2 years now and more recently I have noticed a decline in the cleanliness of the gym. The hydration station looks like it has hard water build-up and it looks gross enough to where I don’t fill up my water there. The bathrooms are a hit or miss when I use them. Luckily since I go early, I don’t really need to use them often. Additionally, some of the leather on equipment has begun to tear. I have contemplated switching gyms due to these issues, because it all falls under maintenance issues and I don’t want to have to wonder whether the equipment I am using is being properly serviced.

I come in on a Sunday ready to pump!!! I walk in to a slow church music playing atmosphere. Mirrors with fingerprints everywhere. Wipes are always empty, yet young kids leaned over the front counter texting away.. This is not a "Powerhouse" atmosphere! I was on the treadmill and the Tvs are all paused.. Water machine is spraying sideways.. I will just take the drive to Tampa. Get it together!

I have the month to month contract and They still make you jump through hoops to cancel. I’ve called multiple times and half the time they don’t answer. When I spoke with someone over the phone to tell them I need to cancel because I am moving too far away, they told me they don’t do cancellations over the phone and that I had to email their boss. So I emailed the email they provided me and never got a response back after 3 separate emails. I call again and they never answer. Mind you I’m moving to Tampa once I got situated I was just going to register at their Tampa location but now you’ve lost a customer with your horrible service. Beware even if you have the month to month contract they still make it ridiculous to cancel the service.

So after months of trying to cancel service, it’s just one problem right after the next. I gave them proof that I was moving to another city to accept the job offer. I paid the cancellation fee, then they charged me two more times within three days of each other, they told me my last payment would be in January and it’s February and they already charged me two separate charges, and the charges don’t even make sense, they are for random amounts. I tried to call them, no luck, I left a voicemail, no luck. I left an email no luck. So this is why they get a one star review. I’ve had a membership to over 15 different gyms in my lifetime and I’ve never had the issues that I’ve had with powerhouse on cancellation. And that’s not every powerhouse that’s just these particular owners. The gym itself is not bad, they have all the equipment you need, they don’t really use the AC in there. They keep it at 76° or most gyms. Keep their AC at 70°. If you never plan on canceling this, gym may be for you

IF YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM. First of all, let’s tell you that this is the first time a write a bad review about any place. They are nice with you when you go into their doors, but they like to play with people money. I was happy in this gym until I had to leave my training due to work issues that required more of my attention in my business, I talked to my coach that this would be my last month, until I could return, the first thing I want to say is that my agreement was always a month a month, however the following month they charged me the full membership fee and the $420 from the coach, even though in my last month I could not attend 7 days of training, which I did not even claim because I did not want to have that gesture with my coach, Very apart from everything, when I complained to the gym about the charge for the month that was already canceled, they told me that they could not refund me that money because I should have sent them an email, however I did send them an email days before the payment letting them know that I had already I had let my trainer know, however they charged me the price of that month's membership with which I had no problem but they also charged me the $420 for the training and told me that I had to use it or I would lose my money, after several emails sent to the manager, he decided to respond and tell me that apparently it was not my mistake and that he would talk to the owner, in conclusion I have been waiting for almost 3 months and they do not tell me anything about the money, the manager does not even respond to the emails

I am coming back to update my review. As much as i like this place, it is really time that they invest in a cleaning company besides their employees. Whoever is cleaning the woemns showers haven't done well. Since i switched to mornings' gym session, these showers have gotten worse! These showers have been like this for at least t months. Surely someone would have noticed it by now? I am one of many of the women complaining. Please address these concerns.

Play great music, usually have bodybuilding shows on the tv, not overly crowded. More for a crowd that is really into bodybuilding. Friendly staff! Variety of great equipment

EOS will be about 2-300 deep on a week day around 8pm while Powerhouse Brandon will have about 10 cars in the parking lot, the people here are here to work not hangout. It’s such a community, nothing but good people here. A good crowd to surround yourself with especially if you’re a new lifter.

Great place, great atmosphere, clean establishment the one and only thing I will say are they're cable machines only go up to 95 lbs but that was only an issue for my cable pullovers and I would say just to go up in reps but I'm already doing 20 reps for that movement with 100 lbs. besides that no other issues. This gym is heaven on earth for all bodybuilders.

One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to! A lot of the reviews talk about people filming and “wannabe influencers”, I understand some people don’t want to be filmed but the people filming themselves do it for good reason and are just trying to better themselves. This gym truly feels like a community and every person I’ve ever talked to here is nice and outgoing. The equipment is all brand new, they frequently change the padding on machines if they are ripped and the vibes in this gym are like no other. I typically go at in the morning and the gym always opens on time and the staff is extremely friendly. The owners are super nice and I’ve heard them ask for feedback. I would recommend this gym to everyone and love being a member at Powerhouse Brandon.

The Gym itself and the Staff are chill. Sadly I agree with the other reviews, there are way too many wannabe influencers setting up their tripods right in front of you. It’s hard to not be in view of someone’s camera. I get recording yourself to check on your form but these people make it their life to record themselves. On a couple occasions I saw people walking around with DSLR cameras filming… wild. If the invasion of the cameras would be addressed I’d give this place 5 stars .

The gym itself is solid, the people who go there and the staff are cool. But the men’s bathrooms is not cleaned regularly. It smells terrible, there’s pee on the floor and the walls around the urinals, and the toilets and urinals have scum on them most days. You can always tell when they have been cleaned because the smell and appearance is noticeably better, but this happens maybe twice a week.

Not sure how to feel about this gym. It’s good, decent, fairly priced, not too congested like many other gyms in the area. However, it’s definitely not the typical Powerhouse you’d expect the experience and quality of machines to be — like in other cities.

I’ve worked out at many other locations around the country and these two locations in Tampa & Brandon have to be one of the most disappointing. There’s no professional maintenance that routinely inspects or repairs the equipment. They just wait until it breaks and you injure yourself. The staff walks around with a toolbox and WD-40 as if that qualifies as a certified repair.

For this gym only being a year old, it has a lot of used and rusty machines that are waiting to break and injure you at any moment. You can tell they acquired the majority of their machines used or brought over from their Tampa location. I’m very disappointed how this franchise represents the brand.

Love this place. As a physical therapist I’ve spent a lot of time in different gyms, studios and more. This place is clean, welcoming, and family friendly owned. The members are great too, everyone does their own thing and are courteous. Also, it’s a given we all rack our weights so it’s nice. The indoor turf with sled and tire are key for functional exercises I love doing too, not to mention all the TRXs and medicine balls for slams too. 10/10 recommend.

I was in Tampa on a business trip for the military. I did not want to make the drive onto base and found this gym close to my hotel. They are military friendly and gym is amazing.
