UPDATE (8/5):After I posted my review (below), I received an angry call from the manager, Jake who threatened to cancel my son’s membership. Jake also informed me that he has a video AND AUDIO of my son being told about the annual fee (btw, I don’t think it’s legal to record people’s voices unless they consent to that). I told Jake that if he sends me the video and audio he is referring to, I will remove my review immediately and call him to apologize. It has been 4 days and I have not received the said video despite calling Jake twice to follow up. Needless to say, as I suspected, there’s no such video/audio and Jake was trying to b.s. his way out of a situation where his poorly trained staff dropped the ball.

If you look at this gym’s reviews, there’s a constant stream of people complaining about equipment quality, cleanliness, smell, and most of all, poor customer service. I’m cancelling my son’s membership despite just having paid the Initiation Fee, Annual Fee and Cancellation Fee ($150) in the first two months of membership. Honestly, I’d rather have other people be informed than worry about my $150 at this point.

If you are willing to look past the issues mentioned above, and still want to join this gym, here’s a breakdown of fees you will be charged so you are well-educated (you won’t be told about all of them by front desk people):

Initiation Fee-$60 (1st month)
Annual Fee -$65 (2nd month, and yearly after that)
Monthly Membership Fee $(based on your level)
Cancellation Fee $25 (if you cancel anytime prior to the annual anniversary of your contract).

I hope our bad experience with this gym will help you avoid it. It is fascinating that these guys treat people of our community this way. Fortunately, there are plenty of other options so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (7/31): These guys are taking advantage of students. They tell them it’s just $30/mo but don’t say anything about the $65 annual fee that gets charged after the 1st full month of their membership or the $25 cancellation fee. I tested that by calling and asking about the student rate. The guy did not say anything about fees until I pressed him on it. That is a slimy used car salesman practice. You advertise a $30/mo membership and charge essentially an additional 4 months worth of fees in the first two months of membership. For kids who have part time jobs to pay for it, that’s a rip off. If you are thinking about joining this gym, do not!

Brought my 9 and 10yr old sons while I work out like I've done at other gyms, they're out of the way, not on any equipment, I get told I have to leave or pay for day passes for them. That's wild.

At least they got their money.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Powerhouse Gym. The facility seems to be in a constant state of disrepair. Many of the machines are broken or malfunctioning, which makes it frustrating and nearly impossible to complete a proper workout. The bathrooms are equally bad, often dirty and poorly maintained, with broken fixtures that never seem to get fixed.

To make matters worse, the gym regularly reeks of weed and cigarette smoke, which is not only unpleasant but also makes the environment feel unprofessional and unwelcoming. It’s clear that management is neglecting basic upkeep and standards.

When issues are brought up to staff, the response is the same, excuses and half hearted apologies. No improvements are noted.

I expected more from a gym that markets itself as a top-tier fitness facility. Until they make serious improvements, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

This place holds some of the most legendary and iconic body building machines that most collectors or gyms dream of having,

There are pieces from the xpload line, retro nautilus 1st generation, originals that just hit different than newer equipment

Machines are space out nicely i like the spread and flow of the gym

They play the music load so days I forget my headphones it's not a problem

I love that it's not ur basic cookie cutter gym

The owner jake is always friendly wen I run into him and we stop and talk about the equipment fairly ofter as I'm a huge fan of older machines

Pleasant Gym. Has something for everybody. I go here every day and all I'm missing are better benches and more specialty barbells.
Never been bothered by anyone and staff has been very friendly and assisting without even asking for help.

The price of the membership was raised, but my opinion still stays the same. If you want to pay less, you will go to a gym that's so crowded that you will not be able to work out without waiting or being bothered. I would say it's worth paying the extra 15 dollars to not waste your time on people.

My experience at this gym has been utterly disappointing. For starters, the fees are exorbitant, especially considering the equipment is in terrible condition—many machines don’t work, and those that do seem like they belong in a museum. The overall facilities are old and poorly maintained, which in no way justifies the high prices they charge.

On top of that, I was charged a cancellation fee, despite there being far more affordable gyms with no contracts in the area. When I tried to discuss the issue, they showed no consideration and still took the monthly payment for a membership I will no longer use. I’ve always been a reasonable customer, but this experience has been the worst. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone who values their time and money.

Not too thrilled with their choice to break our signed contract and raise my base membership by 50%, 24 hour access by 33%, and raise the annual fee for a total increase of about $200 a year with no notice to me.

I called in and was told that they posted signs outlining the increase about two weeks ago. I haven’t been there in two weeks. They also said they sent an email which I never received. I checked my spam and everything. The contract I signed, and their employee signed off on clearly states the base membership is $20, 24hr access is $15, and the annual fee is $49. I was charged $30 for base, $20 for 24hr access, and $60 for annual fee. The contract makes no mention of them being able to raise the rate, in fact, it says the following:

The Member and Powerhouse Gym Trinity acknowledge that this agreement constitutes their entire agreement. It cannot be amended except in written from both parties.

The gentleman working there was polite. Even though I didn’t agree with their policy he said he would check to see when the email was sent to me. He refunded me this month’s membership which made up for the increase but I will be contacting my bank to get a pro-rated refund on. The annual membership. Powerhouse cannot break contract and still expect me to pay for the full membership.

I’m a Powerhouse Gym Member. Despite holding a premium membership allowing me access to all locations, I was informed by the front desk clerk that I needed to pay for a day pass. When I asked for clarification, the front desk clerk seemed unsure, and the situation became even more concerning when the manager/OWNER, who was present upstairs, declined to assist or even spare a moment to speak with me - a paying member. I was disappointed by the lack of clarity and support provided, both to me and to your staff. Clear communication and support are vital for maintaining a positive member experience.

Lots of reasons I prefer this gym. #1, excellent trainer Carrie Deaner, with positive attitude and extensive knowledge of exercises/variations that have decreased pain and improved my strength! Truly impressed by my results with her, highly recommend. #2 upbeat but not blaring music, people are serious about their workouts, I go during the day, never too crowded. #3 variety of workout equipment helps me from getting bored when I’m not with Carrie. #4 classes available. Looking for is available in my community, I went for information...regardless "bad" reviews, stud there went around, and atmosphere is so dull, THE MUSIC IS HORRIBLE!!! and loud. No gym type music. There were members with no earpods, they were so slow working. No happy faces. Music can change the mood. Universal music, no the owners genre. Disrespectful!
Gym must have the right music or no music at all. The staff CANNOT put the music of their preference, members pay for enjoying a place where they can find the right energy to disconnect for a little while.
Spotify has gym playlist among others.
I don't feel motivated to join. :(

I’ve been a member for 2 years and just recently stopped going. Powerhouse is a great gym if you love broken machines that cannot be used due to them being out of order for months with rips and tears on them. It’s also really good if you like having bathrooms that aren’t being taken care of and have no locks on the door. There’s just no effort being put into the gym. If there’s ever a new machine for PowerHouse, the owner just posts it on Instagram and sells it for a profit leaving the bad machines for his members. It was good at the start because it was a new gym I wanted to give a chance for improvement. The only good thing about it is one of the trainers Jonah, I wish he would bring his clients elsewhere.

I have been a member of PH Gym Trinity since moving to the area a year ago. I love the variety and number of pieces of equipment available. Multiple options for every body part and plenty of free weights.
This is a great gym for novice trainer all the way to pro bodybuilder. Plenty of space and available all hours.
Jake has put together one of the best gyms I have been to in 50 plus years of working out.
Glad to have such a facility available near where I live.

Not the type to leave lengthy reviews
but my experience here has been pretty horrible and frustrating given the limited gym options in this area.

I’ll start off saying that the gym itself is awesome. Lots of equipment and space, especially hammer strength machines. They have done an awesome job renovating the place with new carpets and trying to keep it clean/fresh.

Renovations cost money which translate into pretty steep initiation/monthly/maintenance fees. So someone has to pay for it, and by someone, I mean the owners finding every inappropriate way to auto charge the customer’s bank card which is pretty sketchy.

So when I signed up in early February, I was told the premium membership costs $42 a month and includes 24/7 access and unlimited guest privileges and will cost $120 total to enroll. I work at the hospital with crazy hours so I figure this was a no brainer so I went for it thinking I can have my late night lift sessions with my girlfriend. Follow up, paid $42 in March only for the gym to close down a few days later due to the pandemic. Fast forward to reopening on May 15th, automatically debited another monthly $42 and didn’t have the 24/7 access for at least 2 weeks. Two weeks after, bam another “$40 maintenance fee” (after being closed for nearly 2 months). Its a decent gym so I let it go. No big.

Wrong. So again, I usually work out later (10PM) since thats around when me and my girlfriend get off work and we have been going there consistently with no issues. On June 11th I get auto charged a “$50 penalty fee” for bringing a guest “after staff hours” when there was clearly staff/and even the owner there every time we go work out. Again I also signed up for the premium membership (Onyx) which includes unlimited guest privileges.

Caught off guard, I called my bank to reverse the transaction without any issues. I also have called the gym and spoken to Page and Abbey (?) multiple times and left my contact information in which they said the manager/owner would contact me to clear the air but nothing. Not even a few days later, I get a call from someone at the gym (Not the manager) demanding the Monthly/Penalty fee for July and that the owner is refusing to speak to anyone regarding these issues. On top of that I get threatened that I will be sent to collections if I don’t pay.

At this point I realize the gym is not worth the price and realize the owners/staff are pretty unprofessional and amateurish when it comes to business. Especially when the owner/face of the business is there working and not honoring his own guest policy and just watching patrons in order to just auto charge their cards with zero communication. I have spoken to colleagues and heard similar complaints about them not honoring trial membership cards and using aggressive business tactics to sign people up (Valentines Day special). Hindsight 20/20, this gym will find every way possible to nickel and dime you. Its actually a damn shame because the gym itself is great with every machine imaginable.

That being said, if you do sign up, I’d recommend using a prepaid debit card (Venmo or Paypal) so this way they don’t have direct access to your funds as they clearly can’t be trusted in that regard.

I live with in walking distance of this gym and I would not join for a few reasons. First the equipment is not really updated (not the worst thing but they have most of what I like). Second they do not offer a free trial which I think in the gym business is only a disservice to yourself. Lastly the gentleman at the front desk was acting as if I was bother him because I asked for a free day pass to try out the gym. This is what really gave me the worst feeling about the gym , as a paying customer I don’t mind paying when I am treated like a human being. The gentleman’s attitude at the front desk was the worst part as he insisted I could only try the gym if I paid a day fee of $15, which I did. The funniest part is his reasoning was all gyms charge even crunch down the road. Which actually gave me a free day pass is an all around nicer facility and the people are nicer and I joined. I wouldn’t have left a review if the gentleman in the front was more courteous, but when you’re in the customer service industry THE CUSTOMER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.

The owner Jake canceled my membership for giving a 4 star review. Jake didn't come to me and asked why, what he did was in the gym while moving equipment that he was mad at me for the 4 star review I had given. I am a member of Family Fitness who use to workout at the Family Fitness location on Little. (Im currently a member of Family Fitness US-19) I went there to work out for the first time today under Powerhouse Gym Trinity ownership. I was totally impressed with how clean and organized the gym was. I have been frustrated the last couple of years by inconsiderate members who leave weights on barbells . Plates and dumbbells laying randomly on the floor and many times at the opposite end gym by stretching mats. There is a largely elderly population using this gym. Many dont have the strength to unrack weights. Also , weights , accessories and etc are trip hazards. I often pick them up between sets as to help avoid an accident. I also noticed how clean the locker/ bathroom area was as well. I spoke with Jake at the front desk to find out the secret of how they keep this gym so organized. He simply stated that they politely ask/remind members to put things back where they belong. Simple.
Im also impressed with the variety of machines this facility has. I normally just use free weights but have been looking for an alternative to get a little muscle confusion going. This gym has tons of machines. Many of which I will need a demonstration to learn how to use properly. I look forward to trying them out. Bottom line is I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a clean , safe gym with a variety of equipment.

I started looking for a peaceful, laid-back gym to work out at because I'm here visiting family for a few weeks and will eventually move to the area. I checked out Crunch, EOS, and even Zone, but they weren't for me. After hearing about Powerhouse about a week ago, I called and spoke with the most helpful, pleasant staff member (Selena?), who answered my questions about their pricing (very reasonable), 24 hour access, and cancellation/freezing. She answered all my questions and gave me all the information I needed and was completely honest throughout (10/10 customer service). I went in a few days later to ask for her, and she was there to give me an incredible tour. She walked me around and showed me some of the cool machines they had and even told me that the owner Jake is always putting in new equipment which I love!!!! I was thrilled and in amazed of the unique equipment this gym had to offer. I find it absurd that MOST gyms are quite stingy about cancellations and need a 60-day notice. Selena informed me that canceling is not at all difficult here and that I had two options, without my having to even bring it up, and I felt almost relieved because, in my opinion, this is how simple it should be at all gyms. Overall, it was a great experience, and the best part is that the members seem polite and appears to be working out rather than wasting time taking pictures or using up all the equipment. Just want to say that I've been a member since 2014 and have always enjoyed working out here.

Now with Jake being the new owner there is new life in this gym. New equipment and passion for the place. Only been a short time and he has already fixed, upgraded, and improved the entire establishment.

I've been working out and training most of my life and can promise you that you will not find a better gym around with these amenities. 24 hours, and he doesn't cater to any one style of fitness. All are welcome and all will feel comfortable here. He has already shown he won't put up with people of any age mistreating the gym or disrespecting others here.

DIRTY & DARK !! Just joined as a senior citizen thru my health insurance, and am very disgusted. The room we do our class in has more than half of the lights out w no bulbs. Can barely see. We’ve used the kids care quite a bit since our baby turned 6 months and it’s been great! Nothing but good to say about our experience here. I’ve been coming to this Gym for almost a year. I have had more progression in my physique here than the previous 3 years working out in other facilities. The owner and trainers are always open to help you with any issues or questions you have with machines, technique, and anything fitness related in general. New equipment is always coming in allowing for a new gym feeling without having to go somewhere else. My workouts are like no other due to a variety of machine manufacturers being stored here as well as multiple variations of the same machine which allow me to target different parts of each muscle.
I’ve been able to put on a good bit of muscle with the advice and help from staff, as well as the use of the large variety of equipment in the facility.

I love this gym, i've been to multiple crunches and the equipment is just nothing like this gym. They aren't limited to only using one brand of equipment so they can get literally whatever they want. They have some of the best machines I've ever used and that are hard to get. People that complain about the old machines don't understand their origin. It's not them being cheap and getting old machines, it's them getting the really good machines that were used in the prime body building era that are no longer made. The staff are super friendly, the trainers are really cool, as is the owner. Overall a really good gym.

I have been a member of this gym since it opened back in 2013 or something like that. It has changed hands a number of times and through the years has gone extremely downhill The equipment is either broken, squeaks and everything is extremely filthy. Try taking a wipe and wipe down one of the machines and you will see how dirty they are. They never have anyone cleaning the place. We have recently signed up for a membership at crunch and can't tell you how much happier we are there. The place is spotless everything is clean and new. So happy that we changed. DON'T SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP HERE. You will be sorry if you do and once you do you won't be able to cancel your membership without a lot of hassles.

I was excited to try out Powerhouse Fitness, but my excitement was quickly extinguished. I have been working out for 17 years and this is only gym I've ever been to that denied me a free trial. They wouldn't even give 1 day. That's absolutely ridiculous. I asked for the only free thing offered, which was a sped-up half-hearted tour. From the tour alone, it was obvious that this gym is a work in progress. Considering how expensive the membership and trials are that is simply unacceptable. No wonder this gym is a ghost town.

I cancelled (or tried to) cancel my membership in early September. I called and left a message cancelling membership - no response. I sent an email cancelling membership - no response. I sent a written letter with my membership card taped to the letter - no response. My credit card is STILL being charged the monthly membership fee (no contracts????) and I must go through the hassle of disputing the charge every month. I have been trying to call and cancel my membership and this location NEVER answers the phones. I have been harassed when it’s time to make a payment but never get through to them via phone. I need to cancel my membership but I’m sure I will keep being charged like the other negative reviews because this so called “gym” which is so disgusting and dirty, (use the bathroom at home before u come if u must) has no moral value for its customers. I was a member of this gym for years, even before it was a Fitness 360. One of the managers (Shelby) is particularly rude/unprofessional. I was given conflicting information re: membership cancellation and my bank account was charged after I was told it wouldn’t be. After calling & bringing the discrepancy of information up, the business still took the money. I was not happy about this because I was told differently, and informed the manager that the decision to cancel my membership felt even more right in light of that recent event and the manager (Shelby) informed me “that sounds good to us”. Beware....this is the degree of professionalism patrons are getting since the change in management. Good luck folks. I’ll take my chances at a local Planet Fitness. There are a TON of them as opposed to 1 Fitness 360 in the area.

I would give this gym a zero if I could. I don’t normally write reviews, but decided to for this gym because of the year experience I had. Also to hope this would help others make a better decision than I did.

I signed up for a special which included 2 years if you paid in full. The price was really good, and I was assured if I ever canceled my membership, I would get whatever of my membership returned minus 30% which sounded fair. After using one of the two years I decided to go to a new gym due to the quality and customer service provided at this Fitness 360. The weights were all busted, the machines were constantly broken. There was hardly ever anyone at the front desk to answer questions, and when there was someone there, they were too busy texting on their phone to even greet incoming members. This is the only gym I have ever seen like this, and if I was the owner I would be tremendously embarrassed by the shape and quality of this gym. Getting back to my story, I canceled and was told the gym does not give refunds for members that have paid in full. Which is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Whatever happened to treating the customer fairly? To make a long story short, if you’re thinking about joining this gym......DON’T. At least don’t pay in full and don’t believe a word they tell you about refunds. Choose another gym.

Worst customer service ever! I tried canceling my membership 3 months ago back in March. I was told it was canceled and that I would never be charged again. I recently get charged for 2 gym memberships with no refund because they decided to “freeze” my account for 3 months VS cancelled because they wanted the $$. Negative Stars!! Jake at Fitness 360 is the worst business owner I have ever met. I walked in today and because I didn't smile a big hello to Jake he kicked me out, and cancelled my membership. He said the $10 I pay a month wasn't worth it. I have been training here for over 2 years, paying $70. an hour, $500 a month. Then he chased me in the parking lot to scare me. He is a little man. Great gym! I love the variety of classes (the changes keep your interest and are better for your body). The staff is warm, encouraging and supportive of each persons individual goals!

Joni is amazing, as an instructor and personal trainer!! She is very conscious of individual needs (poor knees, shoulder, back or just starting) and demonstrates modifications. BUT for those who are able, provides a killer workout!

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. I’ve been a member of this gym since it was the former Cor/Golds/Family Fitness. I transferred to the Trinity location years ago as it was closer to my house. Last year, several things happened at this location that made me question continuing to be a loyal member. First incident, I walked into the gym one morning and the young gentleman behind the counter was rude and told me that the card I was using was not mine. Apparently, the computer was showing that I was a 70 year old woman even though I had been using this card forever. Second incident, continuous calls from employees at this gym stating that I needed to update my billing information even though they clearly made charges to my credit card! The last call that I received was on a Saturday afternoon. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he would not be in until the following day around 4pm. When I called the next day, this manager who never told me his name, was rude and unprofessional. We clearly didn’t see eye to eye so I asked several times for him to let me speak to the owner. He told me that SHE wasn’t in. I then asked him to take my phone number and to have her call me when she did get in. For some reason, this gentleman did not want me speaking to the owner, who according to the reviews on here is actually a man. Needless to say, this gym has changed A LOT and not for the better. After over 10 years of being a loyal member, I have taken my business somewhere else and will never refer anyone to this gym again.

I just want to preface this by saying that I am not a member, and I do not live in the area.

On that note, I have been to this club twice as a guest of a friend when I come to the area to visit. The first time I came to the club was about 6 months ago. I was greeted with a warm welcome from the employees and immediately I felt at home. I had a WONDERFUL experience in the Body Pump class instructed by a gorgeous red head (cannot remember her name). She was energetic and encouraging during the whole class. Afterwards, she asked me to come again and thanked me for visiting. I was so impressed and I wished so much to have this kind of center in the town I lived.

Fast forward to about a month ago. I have been struggling on writing this review because I do not like writing bad ones, but this cannot seem to let this go. I had the WORST experience I have ever had at a fitness club. My friend did tell me that there was a shift in ownership, and it wasn’t like it used to be. I could TOTALLY tell. First, I was not greeted the way I was the first time. Okay, that’s fine. The thing that really really got me was the class options and the class I took. It was the most awkward “dance with weights” class. The instructor has clearly been instructing this class the same way since 1984. I left without breaking a sweat and felt like I just wasted an hour of my time. I am pretty sure I got a better work out typing this review out.

Again, I do not like writing bad reviews, but I feel like there is some shady stuff going on with the reviews that are actually on here. Coming from what my friend has told me and what my personal experience has been, the new owners are not what they seem. Maybe I had a one off/bad experience, but this needed to be said.

First off I want to speak of the owner Mr Senfeld the moment I met him you could tell that he had a passion for fitness. I had several questions for him regarding nutrition and different workout programs. With a lot of fitness personalities I’ve dealt with over the years most of them honestly don’t care about your time. He gave me his undivided attention In which I’m grateful for.

Now onto the facility! I of course I want to go into details about all the bells and whistles but the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the gym which is few and far between. With me being out of town I just picked the closest gym to where I was staying and didn’t have any intention of ever coming back. However with the experience that I had not only with the staff but amazing equipment if I’m ever an hr away from this gym its beyond worth the drive.

My partner and I have been going to this gym for several years after leaving the YMCA in trinity. Last fall, we were going to cancel but found out that the place was going through an ownership change. Over the past few months, the new owner brought in a good selection of equipment. It is a great space overall for a workout and it is a good location, but man is it dirty. There are 2-3 cleaning bottles and paper towel rolls in the entire facility and at least half of the time, they are empty – even when the entire staff is standing at the front counter. It is extremely rare to see members or staff wipe down equipment which is very disturbing. This is how MRSA, HEP and other diseases are spread. There have been times we have just left because of nasty sweat covered machines that no one wiped down. Many of the machine weight stacks stick or bind while using them because of the rust and grime build up. The carpeting is filthy and stained in the cardio area and the laminate flooring is peeling up in other areas of the gym.
The staff is friendly but all they do is stand at the counter and watch you work out. Someone needs to start cleaning up the place, shampoo the stained carpeting and get some more cleaning supplies. The cleaning lady that works there a few days per week cannot possibly keep up with cleaning/maintaining the equipment in a gym of this size. This goes back to the staff and management who should to lead by example. I know this because I managed a large fitness facility in St. Petersburg for 7 years. When the staff is not helping people, they should be looking for something to clean.
Is it coincidental that all of the 75 reviews are very positive and have been written within the last 2 months (since the ownership change)?

Wish this would have worked out because the price and location were decent but you get what you pay for. We are back at the Y now.

In just the past month or so since Jake has taken over there have been HUGE changes in equipment, classes, and knowledge of staff and changes in programming. I love that we have a 24 hour gym with top notch equipment, both old school and new! It is a very clean facility with everything you need and I’m sure more changes are coming!
