I was here on my three day pass. And must say it is a very Clean Gym, and not over crowded.I really enjoyed the the treadmill with Netflix, You Tube, and Pluto TV. Made the time go by much quicker. I didn't try the other features. Since I go mainly for the treadmills and bikes. But the staff was very helpful setting up the movies and volume control. If your looking for a gym that's not overcrowded and has plenty of parking, try there 3 day pass

Awesome gym. It’s never overly crowded and has a good mixture of equipment. I did have 1 horrible experience with a worker from there, Carlos I believe is his name, but I understand good help is hard to come by for a business. Overall I recommend as a gym

Disrespectful, and rude staff B.B. who was argumentative and condescending. Went into the Tamarac gym 8/31 to question 2 charges on my account for the month of August, 2024. I have not used the gym in almost 10 months and requested to know why I was charged $52.43 and $29.99. (When I signed up I was told that I would only pay a one time fee for "First Responders" and no Annual). Never received my contract via email to this date.

The staff member, B.B. looked up the account and told me the charge was for an Annual Fee of $52.43. I asked her if my account could be suspended for another 4 month because I was going to be away. She told me 3 month is the usual terms and would have that 4 month request approved by her Manager who would be back on Tuesday next week.
I tried to speak to staff B. B. to validate the conversation and she staring raising her voice telling me " I am gonna repeat myself again" and other rude remarks" . This lady was argumentative, disrespectful, confrontational and loud. Should not be in the forefront of anyone's business. I ended up cancelling my Membership instead of putting it on hold. That's where I draw the line. Lady B.B., just FYI I know what it takes to work under stress and save lives at the same time. Poor customer service skills and disappointed.

Nice gym, staff is friendly. The place is clean and tidy and the price is really affordable. Also love the massage chairs and the Red Light Therapy. Didn't try the Classes thoug, might be fun as well.

Retro Tamarac is at the crossroads of affordability, cleanliness and nice equipment. I’ve been going since they’ve opened, and what keeps me going are the vibes. There’s people of all fitness levels doing their own thing and minding their own business or having fun with a friend.

Everyone I’ve brought here also loves the bathroom. That’s one of the things that sold me so I love to show it off like I own it.

I love this gym! It is so clean, always spic and span. I wish other gyms were this clean! Equipment is excellent! The vibe is calm and and not hectic like other places. Carlos helped me with a membership issue and was very knowledgeable about all the options I had. It was a pleasure to work with him and I really enjoy belonging to this gym.

They offered no enrollment fee when I clicked the link, then they charged $75 (which includes the enrollment fee I wasn't supposed to pay) the following month they charged me $23 then the 3rd month they charge me twice - $52 and $24 in the same month. No details on what the $52 is for. When I email them they pass me around to other departments and I don't have time to call the gym when the manager is there. The gym is nice, though. UPDATE: After getting the response below from the Owner, I emailed the email address they provided and wasted my time because Jason said they couldn’t help me so downgraded to 1 star:

I want to report this business as fraudulent. They opened 8 different accounts with different names and have charged us 8 times without our authorization.
We have been trying to resolve this situation since day 1 with the manager of this location Mr John Brodie and he does not respond to our calls or emails. He refuses to refund, even though we have provided him with our bank statements.
We have contacted the HQ of this company, and a lady very kindly saw that the charges were made incorrectly, she agreed to speak with the manager of this location to make the refund and yet the manager denies having spoken to her, refuses to refund us, refuses to talk with us! He is a rude, abusive and unprofessional person.

We want a call from the owner of this location to resolve our situation ASAP.

I call to cancel membership since I don't live in the state anymore. They told me to go in person and that was the only way to cancel for them but imposible for me at the time. Well, they sent me to collections. So be aware if you want to cancel. Other than that the gym is ok.

I went to cancel my account, and the employee said he did not have the power to do so, but he would take down my information and forward it to the person who can. I continued to get billed. I spoke with a second employee who advised that my account was completely canceled. I continued to get billed once again. I contacted Retro Fitness who reimbursed me for my charges. Months later, I get a call from debt collectors stating that I owe a balance. The staff isn't competent enough to cancel your account upon request. Retro Fitness corporate is no help, as they explained that each location is franchised and there is nothing they can do. They refer me back to my home gym who states that they will rectify the issue, yet I still receive calls from the debt collection agency.

Josie!!!! The best trainer ever. She is tough as nails, doesn't let me get off easily, stays on me to show up for my sessions and takes the time to customize our workouts as per my needs. She is detailed oriented and very knowledgeable about the do's and don't of fitness regimes. Getting private sessions with her was one of the best decisions ever. She is small but fierce 😁 . I love her!!!!

The staff is incompetent, they just want you to sign your wallet away without telling you what your paying for. Also the payments are inconsistent. And it’s been three times that my information was never registered in the system but they took the money out of my account? Maybe if they had good customer service and a Owner that doesn’t just sit around all the time things would probably get done correctly there.

Anyone giving Retro of Tamarac a poor review obviously doesn't enjoy working out in a brand new state of the art facility. It's only $30/month for the Ultimate membership which allows you to bring a guest everytime, unlimited tanning, red light therapy, massage and unlimited classes (Zumba,Yoga, Etc). I have this package and it's well worth it. The personal trainer Vince is the coolest guy ever. Mike runs the day to day and is a super cool guy. Everyone is friendly and everything is brand spanking new! The only leg up i would give my old gym (LA Fitness) is that they had some equipment that retro doesn't currently have and the hanging sanitizer napkins I prefer over the bottles. My son goes with me so the Ultimate package suits my needs, but they do have cheaper options. Overall, I'm loving my membership benefits at Retro! BTW, the person who stated the place is small w/ no TV's was obviously at the wrong gym...because both are false.
