My son started here 3 years ago when I told him the importance of exercise. We found this place and loved it right away. Everyone was so welcoming to him and made him and I feel like part of a family. He has learned how to overcome fears, discipline, compassion, team work, leadership, he is inspired to learn and so much more. Karate is a big part of his life. He went from a non active, gamer, who was shy to a strong, self-confident leader since he has started. The sensei is always expanding and teaching new things. I started at Shokotan Karate do Academy in October of last year. This year I earned my Green belt. Excellent class instruction from Sensei Cruz and well balanced between technique and applications which you can use for self defense. Outstanding group of people warm and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend Shotokan Karate-Do Academy, I had the honor to teach the Referee Course there, were I met Juan Cruz Sensei and other black belt as well, I have watched Juan Sensei conduct his class and I could say that he is about the only Sensei I recommend in the Del Rey beach are the other Shotokan I recommend he is in Davie Florida Paul Danos Sensei this two are about the most honest instructor I have met in the South Florida area, Juan Sensei is not just a Sensei but and Educator, your children will learn real karate from him. Excellent Traditional Shotokan Dojo with a very competent, enthusiastic and passionate instructor in Sensei Cruz. I moved from the UK recently and found that Sensei Cruz, and the Dojo as a whole, were extremely welcoming and very inclusive. My daughter started learning, shotakan karate when she was six. Her dojo was in Europe, so when we decided to move here, I thought she would find it difficult joining a new club. But far from it, she seems too be striving in this club. Can't say enough about them, your more than welcomed in this club. Friendly, professional and welcoming. It's a stupendous school for our children to learn self-protection, to be disciplined, respectful, helpful to the others and increase their self-esteem. The Sensei's professionalism and his love for this martial art is simply admirable. He shows a vast experience teaching not only kids and teenagers; but also adults. I've signed up my 8 years old son and I started taking classes too. I am nothing but pleased with this awesome karate school and I highly recommend it.

My son never likes to practice any sport, or activity except watching Netflix or YouTube. Although ever since he started practicing Karate with Sensei Juan I can easily notice that he has become passionated about this discipline. The reason is that his Sensei Juan is SUCH A PASSIONATED professor that he put ups even with the most distracted and undisciplined child. He is so thoughtful, dedicated, patience, and most of all energetic person! His passion about teaching Karate drives every kid into a new to learning experience.
